Not much going on in the sports world to keep me entertained. NBA draft is a big nothingburger for me. Golf on TV is great for taking naps, and I gave up on baseball until the Twins get new ownership. We are 4 weeks away from training camp and more highlights of the Vikings doing great things on a practice field. If the team can avoid major injuries (#No Jinx) I expect 10 + wins, and at least one playoff win this season. Skol.

The stock market is up nearly 30% since Jim Cramer’s prediction in April about a market collapse…. the tariff terror really spooked investors and the market plummeted. But it has roared back after the trade deals started coming in, oil and gas prices came down, and Trump brought in over $15T in new business investments to the country.
We’re safer, more secure, and more prosperous since Trump took office some 130 days ago.
Since this tread is likely to still be up Sat Morning I thought I would get an early post in.

In the end, in politics, the only way to win an election is to convince the public that your opponent is evil, dangerous, unlawful, insidious, harmful, inept, uncaring, unsympathetic, unknowing, etc. In short you must establish a significant dissatisfaction level with your opponent, to garner votes against them. Character assassination is the only thing the Dem’s have left. That and once again trying to convince us Socialism is the best form of Governance.
They spent billions trying to convince everyone Trump es Hitler. It didn’t work and this isn’t working either. The character assassination isn’t working.
But they won’t stop with it. They can only win, if they can convince the population their opponent is a terrible person, undeserving of their vote.

OK, this leading economist doesn’t understand the simple concept of using your financial power to your advantage. From the start, I saw the strategy and understood it. Turn the tables on the countries that tariff our goods, by hitting them back the exact same way. How do you like US tariffing your goods, the way you tariff ours? Simple.

We have just been informed that Canada, a very difficult Country to TRADE with, including the fact that they have charged our Farmers as much as 400% Tariffs, for years, on Dairy Products, has just announced that they are putting a Digital Services Tax on our American Technology Companies, which is a direct and blatant attack on our Country. They are obviously copying the European Union, which has done the same thing, and is currently under discussion with us, also. Based on this egregious Tax, we are hereby terminating ALL discussions on Trade with Canada, effective immediately. We will let Canada know the Tariff that they will be paying to do business with the United States of America within the next seven day period.
Tariff all their shit at 400%.
We have subsidized Canada to the tune of some $200B every year, while suffering this kind of bullshit trade imbalance. Fuck the socialist bitches. Stop all trade and all Federal funding to them, and let their economy crash and burn. Ungrateful bastards.

Think Amazon Netflix etc. There have been large layoffs related to the trade war, and in addition to the optics of fighting back this is an attempt to bring in revenue to the Fed.
It’s the continuing story. Get as much money out of the U.S. as you can. Find every possible way to get our money to pay for their socialist economy.
Trump is wrecking that though. Either Canada accepts real fair trade practices, or they can figure it out on their own, without our hundreds of billions of dollars.

Border crossings seem quite light. I’ve fished Canada for over 30 years. Not for a couple though. Lodges/houseboats/flyins may be taking a hit.

Yeah that school district allowed ‘opt-outs’ for grooming lessons until too many parents opt-ed out and it cost the district money. So the school district stopped the opt-outs, as usual ‘follow the money’.

Hey NLNV, I need to credit you for an improvement in my Golf Game. You mentioned a few weeks back that your only 2 swing ‘thoughts’ are to get your left shoulder under your chin and swing out towards the ball from there.
I modified my swing to make sure my shoulder touches by chin (can’t quite get it under) and that has made a significant difference. I am even hitting a slight draw on some of my drives – 2 of them measured out at 260 yesterday, I haven’t seen that distance in 15 years. I have only been playing tournament scrambles lately. I am very excited to see how I score when I get a chance to play a real round.
Anyway – thanks for sharing your swing thoughts.
