I don’t blame anyone for doubting if they haven’t done their homework to watch JJ.
Would you not expect a national sports journalist who focuses on the NFL to not watch any tape of JJ (QB)?
I would…but the media outlets don’t. It’s all about getting eyeballs by being loud or reporting favorably about the big market and popular teams. Accuracy in journalism doesn’t sell anymore.

I’m not ven sure what ‘getting the news’ even means nowadays. It’s all stilted and biased.

I’m not sure what SB window means, but the Bills and Ravens have proven over the last few years they can’t get by the Chiefs. so, if you can;t do that, you can’t get to the SB.
For us, we’re not exactly a household name when you think of SB contenders. But that’s why you play the games.

Unemployment is low, the stock market is high, inflation is low, Iran’s nuclear program has been destroyed (and the war ended), DEI is on the retreat, men can no longer compete in women’s’ sports and we have an actual border. Illegal immigrant criminals are on their way to Alligator Alcatraz, Trade deals with other countries are coming together because tariffs are working, we’re bringing in $15T in new business investments, we stopped a war with India and Pakistan, and we’re working hard to end two other wars. We have a real leader in the White House, a damn fine First Lady to boot.
Sounds like things are pretty good right now.

So I was wrong about training camp. Most teams are starting on 22 July, but the Vikings will officially kick-off 2025 training camp on Saturday, July 26, with “Back Together Weekend.” This event includes practices, performances and player autograph sessions. The first fully-padded practice is scheduled for Monday, July 28.
So sorry, training camp is 20 days away.

Happy Saturday! I mowed the lawn yesterday, so after a few household chores, I am free to do what I want. I was kind of thinking of doing a movie marathon since it is supposed to start raining so I won’t be able to do any more lawn work. I’m trying to decide between Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future or maybe Predator (including Alien vs Predator). I have digital streaming for the first two, but I’m not sure I have access to all of the Predator movies. I know some are on the Disney + app because I have Hulu bundled with it. Such difficult decisions on a lazy Saturday.
All those are good.
I would go Predator-Lord of the Rings-Back to the Future.
But that is just me.
I went with the Predator series. Yesterday I watched Predator, Predator II, Alien vs Predator and Alien vs Predator Requiem. It had been a long time since I watch any of the Predator series and it reminded of how great a movie Predator is and how average the rest of the series is. Today I started watching Predators but half way through I decided to take a nap. I will finish that up this evening. I have never watched The Predator (2018), but I have heard bad things about it. I wasn’t even aware that there was a new one in the series called Prey (2022). I started looking into that and it sounds like it might be good. And then apparently there was an animated one that came out this year called Predator: Killer of Killers. I probably won’t watch that.

Had a nice gathering with friends, yesterday. Good food and good company. Came home early to care for our dog, as he always panics during fireworks. Our neighbors always blow up very loud fireworks.
Our neighbors shoot off some good stuff every year also, however, they seem to not have as many this year. I watched some of it but then decided to go back to my movie.
Heading to my 40th H.S. reunion today – about a 2 hour drive. Expecting 8 of the 12 I graduated with to be there. Good people, it will be nice to see them again. Food options are pretty limited – looks like bar pizza. We lost one last week to cancer so that will damper the mood a bit.
Wow, that’s an interesting story. 12 people left in your class, after losing one. Pretty small group of people. Very intimate. Pretty special gathering there.
Yes, because we were a really small class, even for our school, we were fairly tight.
I’ve never been to any reunion.
Graduated with 600 people.
Since I live too far away, it’s not an easy thing to do.
When I would check in on our reunion group, they wanted like $500 for each person to attend. Sorry. Too rich for my blood.
Bar pizza sounds good for a gathering.
Have a good time at yours though.
I would much rather have bar pizza in a casual setting and visit for a couple of hours over a few beers than pay 500 dollars for a more elaborate setting and a formal program.

I’ve been to a couple of my reunions. One year they wanted to do a Vegas trip. I declined. I don’t know if someone lost my info after that or what, but I haven’t heard anything from anyone in years. My 40th was 2 years ago, but I did not hear anything. I’m kind of assuming they have moved the info to Facebook and I don’t have Facebook so I’m out of the loop. If I remember correctly, I graduated with a class of about 80 or so. We were a smaller class.
My HS was about 280 students, so about 70 per class.
Have not been to any reunions although they did try hard to recruit as many as they could a couple of years ago. It was the first time I had heard from any of them for 30 years or so.
I enjoyed going to the couple that I went to. It was nice to spend a couple of hours reconnecting with some people. It’s not like I would want to be close friends and see them every day, but reconnecting for a couple of hours is ok.
Our family was ‘financial special needs’ for the HS. So we did not fit in all that well. Most of which were from very well off families.
Lots of good people from there so we were not ostracized but that is not the same as ‘fitting in’.
Still a tough way to go though.
Everyone has Pros and Cons in HS.
Good school, good education, some excellent people, some a-holes.
Not bad overall I think.
I’ve missed all of my H.S. reunions, so far. Always deployed or too busy, etc. Would love to have gone to one. Maybe I’ll make it to the 50th in 2029? My class size was only about 120.
Funny story, I was able to attend my wife’s 20th reunion in Arkansas. Apparently, I look very similar to the starting QB from their State Champion Football Team. That guy did not make it to the reunion, but all of the former cheerleaders kept coming over and flirting with me, thinking I was the QB. Really pissed off my wife. I played it up and had a lot of fun with it. 🙂

We had fireworks in the rain last night. We could hear them, but not really see them. Bother. The cats were interested in the lights in the sky, and not bothered by the booms.
We’re going to Season’s 52 for lunch today, and walk around the International mall. Haven’t been there in a while.

Good morning. Down in Palm Brach area with entire family. Going to beach and Seasons tonight for dinner. Forgot how hard it is to do things with so many kids and spouses wanting to different things and keep everyone happy. I twas easier when they were kids and we just said this IS what we are going to do.
Laughing. Really was easier when you were the boss, and they didn’t get a vote.
We went to L.A. (Lower Alabama) to see my brother, his kids, and their kids last year. They have issues with eating everything. It was funny that no matter where we went to eat, somebody wasn’t happy. I told my brother “to thine ownself be true” and don’t worry about anyone else. So we went to places we wanted to go. Nobody died.
