Vikings News
Joint practices went well this week. Two hopefully minor injuries, nothing major. Brad sent us some details and I was expecting a bigger report today. Slacker. JJ is not playing in the preseason game tomorrow, and no starters will be playing next week, so the next time we see the starting offense it will be on Monday Night vs the Bears.

Lawsuits vs the NFL moving along for Gruden and Flores. Good. Keep Flo here for two more seasons!
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

So, the neighbors think I’m weird. I can’t figure out why.
Fascinating

That is fascinating GF… very cool.
A bit eerie, too.
Easton Stick has thrown two pick sixes. The second one was called back due to off-setting penalties though, so he lucked out.
This Titans vs the Falcons game is boring. Cam Ward isn’t very good.
Top 5 offense….isnt that what he said?
Yep
Made it down to the Zoo and we’re all doing fine. Animals far out number the humans but we’re putting up a good fight.
Thought the info on all those top receivers coming from a small part of LA was quite interesting. Now I don’t give a rats who the source was, not even sure why it matters, as long as it is factual correct – them all coming from LA. That’s really quite neat.
See we have a new fan. Bill Brown was my man.
Feeding time will be fun for you…
Just got done. Wife did the cat boxes thank God.
Get one of those self-cleaning litter boxes, those things are awesome.
I have this one, I change out the box once a month. Stays fresh.petco.com
I would if these were my cats. I’m just here house sitting for 10 days and caring for the livestock.
Finding that picking up after two large dogs in bermuda grass has its challenges too.
Ohhhhhhhhh, I see
Rickie doubles 15. MacINTYRE 5 shot lead.
Terrible shot off the tee into the water. He will need to shoot a very low round tomorrow somehow to get back in this.
Then he rolls in a 29 footer for birdie on 18.
Reba’s nephew?
New Orleans Democrat Mayor LaToya Cantrell has been indicted by a federal grand jury following a corruption investigation.
On Friday, Cantrell (D-La.) was handed an 18-count indictment with charges that include conspiracy, wire fraud, conspiracy to obstruct justice, false statements, obstruction of justice and lying to a federal grand jury.
The indictment comes following a separate indictment of Jeffrey Vappie, the mayor’s former New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) bodyguard, who was charged last summer with wire fraud and false statements.
I think most the current and past officials in NO could be indicted for corruption.
It is a way of live in NO.
Totally agree. The city of New Orleans is still rebuilding and repairing homes that were damaged in the fallout from 2005’s Hurricane Katrina. Millions and millions of dollars that were sent to the city and State in the immediate aftermath simply disappeared.
Commifornia could learn how to be more corrupt from NO.
It is just worst due to it’s larger scale.
I was living an hour from there when Katrina hit, I watched the crime rate of Jackson basically double immediately when those people fled New Orleans. That place is a corrupt s*** hole, even the police are corrupt.
Yep… saw it happen as I was involved in some of the recovery actions.
I remember watching their mayor tell everyone not to leave as the president was telling everyone to evacuate. Admittedly, Bush was one of the worst presidents of our time, but he was correct to recommend evacuation. Their mayor, Nagin, was a bigger criminal than Bush/Cheney (which is saying a lot, because they’re corrupt as hell) and was later sent to prison.
I see New Orlean’s current mayor was just indicted, too. What a nice city.
Skol! from God’s Country (NW MN). Been riding with this team since Moss and I’m ready to suffer and eventually celebrate with you all.
Welcome!
LFG!!!
Since Moss! Another youngster. Welcome, and FTP
Welcome Aboard, grab and oar*.
That would be a Viking Longship Oar not a gopher one, although the two are not all that dissimilar.
Hey, welcome! Grab an oar, I think this might be our year (full disclosure: I say that every year).
I love the username!
McCarthy believes he’s one of the best QBs in the NFL.
“I think I’m one of the most accurate guys out there.”
Hopefully if he isn’t currently he soon will be.
Nice to have confidence as a young QB.
I think McCarthy will be very good. That said, he’s never seen any of the top QB’s in the league. Saying he ranks with guys who are exceptional, and proven passers in the NFL is a little much. Maybe KOC told him that. Maybe others also have told him that. Dunno how he has come to this conclusion.
I remember when RGIII told some reporters at a press conference he thought he was one of the top 5 QB’s in the league. The next day Gruden made him the 3rd string QB for the year and made Cousins the starter, 5 days before their season opener 2015.
Where did you see that?

Thx.
keine problem
Case Keenum did not practice Friday due to a leg injury. Keenum is considered day-to-day, so while his injury isn’t a long-term concern, it may prevent him from suiting up for Sunday’s preseason game against the Bills. The veteran signal-caller is competing with Tyson Bagent for the No. 2 quarterback role behind Caleb Williams, and if he can’t suit up versus Buffalo it will provide fourth-stringer Austin Reed a chance to handle increased reps.
Probably just a bruise from those big balls Zim talked about bouncing against his leg.
Laughing
The four Top WRs in the NFL were ALL BORN in Louisiana within 120 miles of each other:
1) Ja’Marr Chase: Harvey, Louisiana
2) Justin Jefferson: St Rose, Louisiana
3) CeeDee Lamb: Opelousas, Louisiana
4) Brian Thomas Jr: Walker, Louisiana
(Bonus #6 Malik Nabers: Lafayette, Louisiana)
According to your Twitter boy this morning, Jets is the 6th best WR in the league.
You act like I care Bow…
Are you slowly turning into MarkSP?
No… I am singularly, and specifically me.
Credit: Dov Kleiman
But Dov said this morning that JJets isn’t even a top 5 WR in the league?
Yep.
But Dov is reputable, apparently.
Wrong DE… as usual. Here is my source:
https://gator995.com/top-four-nfl-receivers-were-all-born-120-miles-apart-in-louisiana/
I read this long before Dov posted it.
You copied and pasted it directly from Dov.
Its word for word on Dov Kleivmans twitter, just as you posted it.
So you used Dov to post it here.
I read this article LONG before Dov posted anything DE.
In January of this year to be exact.
Thus no credit to Dov… he posted someone else’s work.
Took you 7 months to post it?
No… you said credit Dov… I corrected you, as usual…
You copied and pasted it directly from Dov Kleiman.
I don’t beleive your source was a story from Jan.
I corrected you, as usual
The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has laid waste to California’s ridiculous “one-gun-per-month” law in yet another victory for gun rights.
The law, passed in 2019, prohibited individuals from purchasing more than one handgun or semi-automatic rifle within a 30-day period. The court declared that the law violated the Second Amendment because the state “has not demonstrated that the one-gun-per-month law is consistent with the Nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation.”
Seems like the 9th Court of Appeals is no longer a ‘Woke Rubber Stamp’.
It is nice to see hope it last.
Agreed. Some mainstream media types starting to question Dem’s positions now too. The Trump effect is turning the tide. Even Hillary Clinton said she would nominate Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize if he can stop the Russia and Ukraine war.
I’m having a hard time thinking this is true.
There would be so many caveats, there is no way she would ever praise Trump.
First Caveat was ‘if he can stop the war and not give up land to the Russian Aggressor’.
Sure, just convince them to leave peacefully then I will nominate you, right.
Trump shook Putins hand.
DICTATOR!!
If you’re ever in Red Wing, Bev’s Café is amazing.
i mean….it looks like any breakfast at any diner ever…..
For me taste, portions and cost determine how ‘amazing’ a diner is.
But diner breakfast food is absolutely amazing.
I cannot remember the name of the place in Jamestown. The Depot maybe?
So good….
You ever get back to Jamestown, I highly recommend Babb’s Coffee House, amazing breakfast quesadilla (and they have a gluten-free option) and really good coffee. Also some really good snacks.
When I said it was good, I meant it tasted good, I wasn’t referring to how it looked.
Never been there, will remember if I’m driving through during morning hours though.
So my wife laughs at me because we tend to dine at somewhat nicer places… but maybe my favorite meal is a double order of scattered, smothered, covered, chunked, and topped hash browns at Waffle House.
Hard to beat breakfast, enjoyable any time of day.
Can we give him a 3 week/game contract?
I would be a fan of that.
Yes please
If they bring somebody in, I would imagine it would be a younger quick guy since they would be trying to replace Moore unless the hand injury to Nailor isn’t looking good.
You don’t think Cooper is a solid #3?
I think that if the receiver is good enough KOC could make it work.
All good. Now just stay healthy.
Found a really cool military museum in Red Wing.
Cool stuff
Could’ve spent much more time there
Could you imagine what that “Gee I wish I were a man” join the Navy poster would look like in today’s world?
My goodness, the internet Karens would s*** a brick.
Looks cool GF!
Getting deep dish pizza for lunch. Knife and fork type. My wife isn’t a fan though, so it’s all mine. Grin.
I could eat Pizza every day.
If I did, I would look like Homer though…why is food so much fun?
Laughing… firm believer in everything in moderation. I ate half the pizza. I’ll snack on the rest of it over the next couple days. I eat very healthy, being married to a former competitive bodybuilder, and fitness expert.
I could eat pizza everyday as well.
Although the toppings would have to change frequently.
I love cheese so much, that this would happen to me.
Friday night is pizza night for us.
It’s the only day of the week I eat cheese.
It drives my cholesterol level into the 230’s
Nice, succinct rundown. Like it!
The CEO of Crowds on Demand revealed that requests for paid protesters have skyrocketed by 400 percent after President Donald Trump took office.
Crowds on Demand is a public relations company that provides crowds of people for various purposes, including corporate events and political protests.
Dem’s have to buy people to support their anti Trump protests.
That sounds like Red Square…except Putin supporters have non-paid motivation. 😳
Shocked… Flacco can throw a football. Ya think?
Dov…
Laughing… according to some… but he posts some good stuff.
He reposts other people’s stuff with his own headline/take.
Cut them
Starting my second family adventure for the week. Just got back from DC taking care of wife’s Mother’s (who wife hadn’t talked to in ten years) medical problems. That was an unusual time.
Now, heading South to house watch and animal sit for oldest daughter who’s going on 10 day vacation. She has a Huskie, Red Healer (large one), two cats, a bird and several fish tanks. Dogs are of course spoiled rotten, sleep in beds and that means wherever you sleep they sleep – like to cuddle up. No way wife will put up with that so yours truly will share the bed with the animals. And I’m told one of the cats like to sleep on the pillow very close. Going to be interesting.
The adventure begins after a couple of hours drive.
Laughing… quite the menagerie there JR. You’re a good dad.
I don’t know about that, but DE has the right idea above and there will be alcohol consumption.
Funny how she still has a bra on after taking off her bra.
Right?!
Hot hot hot!!!
went and looked at a house last night that isn’t on the market yet…
BEAUTIFUL property, house is pretty nice too, can really see my kids LOVING the property and exploring it etc…
it would be TOP of what i can afford, and those interest rates are TERRIBLE
gotta pray.
Prices will come down until the interest rates come down.
When interest rates come down, the housing prices will likely RISE.
Try and thread the needle IMO.
You will likely be able to refinance soon after Powell leaves.
i have thought about that….knowing and seeing interests rates SHOULD come down…
it’s an ideal situation, one owner home (built in 86) and she doesn’t want to put it on the market and wants a good family to enjoy it.
perhaps she’d be willing to lower the price, idk.
Perhaps you can have it both ways and not have to wait on rates. Since house hasn’t been listed (saves relator fees) negotiate a best price now.
For financing, get an ARM with low interest rate first year or so, and then when rates come down refi into a more conventional product.
Praying for you freezey!
My wife and I had to buy a house a couple years ago when the interest rates were high. We plan to refi when they drop some more.
Is this particular house on a lake?
Unfortunately not, but a beautiful almost 3 acres of nice lawn and fun woods/trails.
the kids would LOVE it. and i’d finally have a lawn big enough to use a riding lawn mower!!
Buttbury doing what he did for the Vikings….
Getting pushed back into the QB.
not going to miss him
Bane of our O-line.
Think that was Ingram.
Always stepping on the QBs foot, weak guard, not a good person as well.
Glad he isn’t even a backup here.
Agree, Ingram was in a class all by himself.
No doubt Hargrave was briefed on Buttbury’s weakness is, not enough strength to hold off a power rush.
I blame Ponder.
I’ve heard that somewhere before.
Her?
Sam Ponder is easy on the eyes imo. Still pissed that espn booted her from Sunday morning countdown.
More of the Disney woke bullshit.
I heard they are going to replace Scott Hanson with Dylan Mulvaney on RedZone.
Happy Frigg Day.
The wife of Odin… of course…
Sean McVay said Matthew Stafford, who has not practiced during training camp because of an aggravated disk in his back, will work out Saturday morning.
In my far too soon to prognosticate prediction I see the Vikings getting drubbed on MNF opening weekend with their “rookie” QB demonstrating some new car squeaks and rough edges,
Certainly not out of the realm of possibility. I favor the Vikings though. We are just the more complete team.
Cry Baby Williams might cry and throw picks, so the defense might make up for a slow start by JJ.
Was going to down vote you for negativity, but then the realist in me stopped me. Could happen, or we could blow them out of the water. We just don’t know yet.
I’m not sure the Vikings have ever blown the Bears out of the water at Soldier Field.
This is a new era though, the years of JJ.
The Bores always play us tough especially in their place. Their defense seems like it is tough every year so doubt it is a blowout.
But like every Viking game anywhere we need to ‘hope for the best but expect the worst’.
JJ is about to treat them like he did Ohio State. They don’t stand a chance.
Yup, it won’t be easy, tough place to play and the fans will be all revved up for the first game of their season. I’m glad we get it out of the way early in season.
“Such a beta attitude.” – Fivehole
Although I always am, I should never be surprised by the Vikings laying an egg at some point in the season. Maybe a good drubbing would motivate them.
Occasionally I have a good point.
Vikes are 1.5 point favorites, I think the Vikes will cover that.
Weren’t they 3 point dogs a couple weeks ago?
Might have been, until the “experts” saw how training camp is going for Caleb.
Good morning all, hope you are having a great day!
Second week of practice games is here!
