Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Vikings have way too many injuries this early in the season. While I am sad about that, I am even more discouraged by how good the Packers look this year. They just handled two strong playoff teams from last year, and the defense they have was already good prior to getting Parsons. FTP, and F Jerry Jones.
On the other hand, beating a really good division rival can be lots of fun, so lets do that week 12. For now, we have Penix and ATL to deal with. I am hoping the offense does not start out too slowly this week. Defense will need to play better also. Penix > Crybaby.
Been a rough week on several topics, so here is a good take on Politicians. My media selection – NSWF language, but accurate.
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another.
What’s with the injuries? Pansies.
Happy Fry Day. I think I’m going to do burgers on the grill and toss some fries in the oven to go along with them.
Sounds good. My wife is making chicken fried pork cutlets, with peas and mashed potatoes.
YIKES.
Gink Out
Okudah Out
Darrisaw Out
Doesn’t matter – it’s only the Falcons. Because KC is on the team, the Falcons will lose, even if he’s only the backup. He will take them down like the sinking ship he is.
Point to the place on the doll where the bad man hurt you…
(I was being facetious)
Ahhhhh sooo… no facetious font… grin.
Yup, just saw that, dammit dude we need you. JJs gonna be scrambling right a LOT
we do need me. you are right
Is that official injury report?
yeah, on their website:
Full Participants no Injury Designation:

Josh Oliver
Myles Price
Jalen Nailor
Zavier Scott
Elijah Williams
JJ Mac
Isaiah Rodgers
Questionable:
Hitman
Austin Keys
OUT:
Okudah
Gink
Darrisaw
Thanks. I don’t think the Falcons are any better than the Bears, so we should be able to handle them at home.
Making some roster moves, Cashman and Chandeler on IR.
https://www.vikings.com/news/blake-cashman-ty-chander-injured-reserve-2025-roster-moves
Lose a LB and a RB and sign a TE and a WR to the roster.
Makes sense.
The Vikings on Thursday announced they have placed linebacker Blake Cashman and running back Ty Chandler on Injured Reserve.
The Vikings also announced they have signed receiver Tim Jones and tight end Nick Vannett from their practice squad to the 53-man roster.
I could be wrong, but with Okuda ailing, aren’t we down to three CB’s?
We have 3 on the roster in addition to Okudah correct.
We also have 3 on the PS any of which can be elevated for Sunday. Probably Moreau.
Thanks… I had no idea what we have on the PS.
Man we got beat up on Monday.

Was wondering, maybe it was mentioned the other day when JJ (QB) was named the NFC Offensive Player of the week.
Is he the only player that has ever been so named after his very first NFL game??
Curious Mind want to know.
3 Qbs, Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels last year and RGIII in 2012.
After their 1st Pro Game?
Interesting.
According to AI
So it is obviously true then.
Rookie QBs must be a trend then especially with 3 in the last season +1 game.
NFC offensive player of the week.
Yeah, I realized that. Jordan Love played better in week one than McCarthy though. So did Kyler Murphy.
Question. I may be seeing things but I swear I saw a response in regards to SoCa question from NLV, and then if just vanished.
Real or not?
I deleted it, because I realized it was the NFC Offensive player of the week, and of course Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, and Justine Herbert, and Aaron Rodgers, and Justin Fields, are all in the AFC.
Thanks, not seeing things. And didn’t know one could delete posts. Have noticed once in a while there will be a post and come back later and the post has been augmented.

Good Gif is good.
I’m glad I am not going crazy, since I commented on it.
Sorry about that…
I’d like to give a shoutout to sidewalks for keeping kids off the streets for years….

Headed out to lunch… catch ya later
I feel like the Packers are the new “Legion of Boom” in the respect that they are mugging WR’s the whole game and not getting called for anything. And so, being allowed to hold everyone all game, their defense is so “great” because nobody can get open. And of course there are the egregious holds with their offensive line that never get called. Good recipe for success.
It will be a long season if thats the case. Yeah I couldnt tell from watching last night but it looked like Daniles had no where to go with the ball and I thought, their secondary is NOT good on paper, how did they magically get good?
Yeah, he held the ball way too long on some plays and took a sack. Every replay I seemed to see the WR’s were being grabbed consistently, and for a team that used to live on PI and defensive holding penalties, I find it interesting they never get it called against them. Rodgers must have benefitted from 400 such calls.
Thats statistical proof that from 2010-2019 the Packers benefitted from penalties the most in the league and its not even close. When you show the fans that chart they get pissed and discredit it. Last night was a sold out prime time game at home with the Commissioner preset, no way the Pack werent going to win.
Yep, I agree. And if I recall seeing that chart, the Packers were like a huge gap above the next closest team even. Rodgers and the Packers shouldn’t have nearly the winning resume they really deserve.
They are almost off the chart haha. I think their favorable calls have dropped since Rodgers left but yeah, so far this year they have gotten a lot it seems. Only two games
Even if there wasn’t data showing their favoritism for a decade, anyone with eyes (who isn’t a Packer fan) can see it. The NFL wants certain teams to win, and it seems the Vikings team generally isn’t one of them.
I wonder why the assassin hated Kirk and killed him with bullets that said “facist in Italian??
Hmmm……where has this language come from over the last 5 years?
Cant put my finger on it……
Italy!
I’m glad they’ve got the guy in custody.
😆 😂 🤣
Just to inject a little more football into our daily
PoliticalCurrent Events discussions.Daniel Jones is a fan of how are offensive coaches do things.

Gov Cox of Utah just entered the Presidential Race IMO
Doesn’t stand a chance but that’s not to say he isn’t impressive. Compared to most of the dem govs/politicians he looks like Ronald Reagan.
Our ‘old pal’ and TDS sufferer Chris Kluwe is at it again.
https://www.foxnews.com/sports/former-nfl-player-chris-kluwe-mocks-charlie-kirk-condemns-gop-after-ass
I’ve felt the same about Kluwe for over a decade
Looks like one of the Vikings cheerleaders.
He is an idiot, and he sucked at football.
Well he was a punter.
Don’t know if he ever played actual football.
Haha yeah, but even at punting, from what I remember when I watched, he was bad.
Pukers could be for real. I hate saying that.
Agreed.
FTP!
“WE GOT HIM”.
we got “him”
Cox, Utah governor’s words.
I have to say this, and folks here who own guns will understand it. This has bugged me from the start, about the narrative being presented on the gunman.
We saw a video of a person jumping off the roof. However, there was no rifle in his hand. The explanation was that the suspect “broke down” the rifle, and concealed it in his backpack.
The second I heard this theory, I rejected it. The Mauser does not break down very easily. They’re saying he removed the barrel from the Mauser and fit the receiver and stock in his backpack and the barrel in his pants. For those who do not own guns, it is not easy to remove a Mauser barrel.
I continue to smell a rat. Especially since the photo of the rifle allegedly left in the woods shows the barrel installed. I cannot believe a guy is on the run after killing Charlie Kirk, and he pauses in the woods to reinstall a barrel and then he leaves it for us to find? The FBI to find. I don’t believe a word of it.
I’d think the forensic evidence has to be conclusive. Sure this is far from over.
Ok.
So who on the inside did this then?
Patel?
Bongino?
CIA ?
And why would they go along with it?
I am uncertain what exactly NLV is saying or suggesting, but reading his post made me recall an old Gene Hackman/Tommie Lee Jones movie called “The Package.”
I’m just saying the math doesn’t add up to me. He supposedly texted a friend telling him he needed to recover a rifle hidden in the woods. OK, could we have done anything more incriminating? And IF he had the weapon already “broken down” and concealed from view in a backpack, why stop, reassemble it, and leave it somewhere that it could be located? This is very weak sauce to me. Maybe it is meant to be so stupid folks will believe the guy was a simpleton amateur, who really had no idea what he was doing.
Understand the reference. to the Package?
Hint – kind of understood your first post.
Yes, that film came out like around 1990 I think. Something about the President and Russia signing a nuclear arms agreement, and some Generals on both sides working together to undermine the talks. Basically a Cold War political thriller, that gets deep, deep, deep.
This assassination definitely feels a lot like the JFK killing to me.
And they had set up a “patsy” to get tapped as the assassin providing cover for their real government selected shooter could get away free. And of course no trace back to the true origins of the plot.
Yeah… and folks do not realize this type of stuff is real, happens around the world, and here in the U.S.
Start with why kill Charlie Kirk? The guy debated him… then kills him? Weak sauce motive.
I have seen no report stating that they shooter ever debated Charlie.
Got a link??
I saw it on twitter…
I wouldn’t trust the “deep state” part of our gov’t two inches. And although they have new masters (for now) they are still deeply buried in the system and capable of doing just about anything.
yeah…
Yeah, it’s stinky.
There is a sad ironic truth to Carlin’s above video.
This generation thinks differently than mine. We never went out and did special pregnancy pictures, nor did we take pictures of my wife’s bare pregnant belly. We also didn’t make the gender reveal a special event. It would be an interesting deep dive to have a sociologist study why this generation feels the need to “celebrate” and memorialize every single event in their lives. It may sound like I’m being a grumpy old man today, but it more of a “I wonder why” moment. Don’t be mislead by that statement. I am a grumpy old man, just not at this moment.
I would assume it depends on the sociologist chosen.
One who is 30, or one who is 60?
that’s because this generation is raised on social media and believes EVERYONE cares about EVERYTHING they do….
Good point.
A young lady, about my daughters age, at the office just had her first baby. A couple months ago she was showing me her pregnancy pictures and when she got to the bare pregnant belly picture, she was a little flustered and quickly moved on. I found that interesting and also funny. If you would be a little embarrassed showing someone that is your dad’s age a picture of your bare belly, then why take the picture or at least why wouldn’t you move it so it wasn’t in your sequence of pictures to show everyone? She is a sweet kid and is not one of those “look at me, I’m special” kind of people, so to me it seems to be just a generational gap. It seems to be just something ingrained in them.
Its about the constant need for attention and validation. Its amplified vanity 100%
I read that Trump announced on Fox this morning he “thinks” the shooter has been arrested. Apparently his father and a minister convinced him to turn himself in to a U.S. Marshall. This is the person of interest they have been seeking.
Hope he still gets the death penalty.
Me too JR. I feel like somehow, some way though, he won’t. I think the guy who killed the Ukrainian girl will also escape the death penalty.
Judges do not have the stomach to do the right thing by our society anymore, and lawyers can manipulate them too easily. They are all sympathetic to the criminal, blaming us and the country and even the victim for their hate and violence.
It’s our fault.
In at least one way I find the killing of that poor young lady on the subway worse – it just strikes me as pure evil. I cannot get the image out of my mind of that poor girl just looking up at the killer after he had cut her throat. So helpless, knowing she was about to die.
Hell isn’t hot enough for this guy.
‘Judges do not have the stomach to do the right thing’
Which is why the DOJ filed Federal Charges in the case. Pam Bondi stated that they won’t allow the case to be handled the same local judges/magistrates that allowed him to go free all those time.
In NC Magistrates are not required to be Lawyers, or even have a collage education.
Correct, which I only recently learned. I think that’s the case in 32 states. People can be hired as a judge, with literally no qualifications at all.
Hell you can be VP of the United States without the ability to speak three coherent sentences in a row.
She only did that when she was drunk.
Which admittedly was all of the time.
She spoke 3 coherent sentences in a row when she was drunk?
Yeah I could have phrased that a little bit better.
I believe this proves that SoCal is Kamala.
I might ‘identify’ as Kamala.
Allegedly.
but do we really think this guy is THE guy? i don’t
His father and minister turned him in.
Do you think they are part of the conspiracy??
so it’s just some guy that killed him and told his father and minister??? i just don’t really think that to be the case.
i’m not saying i’m right just seems weird.
If he was funded or associated with a George Soros type, I’m all for that conspiracy.
haha i think EVERYONE is funded by george soros.
The Video showing him climbing off the roof and running away with is backpack immediately after the shooting is pretty compelling. Will he claim he was just ‘sightseeing’ and ran because he heard a shot??
honestly, and this is the conspiracy theorist in me, is that video even real? like…there are SO MANY DEEPFAKES out there of EVERYTHING. AI could EASILY make a video to let anyone who wants to see what they want to see happen. it could have put the Pope on the rooftop if it wanted
How does a stationary surveillance camera follow his movements?
I missed the first half of the game last night and most of the 3rd quarter I just had it on in the background. I’m just hoping that the Packers are just having a fast start and/or are playing opponents that are having a slow start. While it is good to have strong division rivals to toughen up our team, I would prefer that Green Bay was the anemic runt of our division that everyone made fun of.
No Pack, No!
I feel like the Pack have benefitted from getting the Lions and Commies early. The Lions are learning a new system and have 2 new offensive linemen.
From my understanding, the Commies have a right tackle, that used to play guard, starting in the position for the 1st time and a rookie right guard. I may be wrong though. It looked like the pack were getting a lot of pressure on that side early and Daniels was not able to get anything going, or get to the longer routes.
Let’s hope…..
This reminds me of Ron White’s comedy act, where he’s on a small plane and one of the engines dies.
Passenger next to him: how far can we make it on one engine?
Ron: All the way to the crash site. I bet we beat the paramedics by half an hour.
Comedy Gold.
Make The Teacher spit up her coffee when I shared it with her.
The Commanders are severely overrated (Daniels did not look good, and their defense is very suspect). The Lions will look a lot better this week I think (crappy first start with new OC and players). I think the Packers are pretty good, though (defense better than offense).
I know they are 2-0 but from what I’ve watched of the Packers this year they are a slow burn, grind team and their wins have been meh at best. Their defense looks “good” but the teams they’ve played have looked lost and unimpressive and its not just because they are playing the Packers. Detroit and Washington look slow coming out of the gate and or slumping. I might be coping but they look like the exact same team as last year and that team looked meh as well.
Looking at their schedule they might walk their way to 13 or so wins though its fairly easy, especially if Detroit still sucks come later in the fall.
I hope you are right.
Think it’s still too early to tell. But did think in both games Packers looked strong and physical, more so than I expected. This may or may not make them an elite team, but teams that can play very physical football can hang well with most anyone they play against.
Doesn’t look that way to me KFEY…they look offensively balanced with a great defense. Going to be really hard to beat them.
Okay, we will agree to disagree. Their WRs are mediocre at best imo and Love is still having accuracy issue long range imo. The turn overs will come. And LaFluer is still a mentally week head coach when it comes to adversity.
LeFleur is a whiny little b**** who is very annoying to look at. He cries about every call against his team (and as a Packer coach, he benefits from a lot of bad call and no calls). I hate seeing him on the TV screen.
Here here, we agree there 1000% brother
