Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
A few more days before the next Vikings game, which is an important game for the purple and gold, even in this young season. The Vikings offense has struggled to gain their footing, although they’ve shown much more life with Carson Wentz under center over the past two games. Some of the offense’s struggles can be attributed to the O-line injuries, but I think a lot of the blame can also be placed on KOC not altering the game plan to account for the injuries. If the offense can start firing on all eight cylinders, or at least 7. Hell, 6 would be an improvement.

- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.

This is immensely funny, and clever…
This story was around in tbe early 1980’s when i was in college.
5 minutes of internet research shows this joke goes back over 100 years
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/hell-endothermic-exothermic/
But still funny
Hmmm…
Could be an interesting day Sunday.
And not in a good way.
The Browns defense has allowed the fewest yards per game in the league, but they have also allowed 25.5 points per game (24th in the league).
In case you didn’t know…
I though he looked decent considering the pressure he was under.
Certainly better than Sam-I-Am did at the end of last year.
I watched the game again, and I saw where he missed some things pretty badly, but with just 5 weeks under his belt he is a long way from mastering this offense. He has enough experience to get by though, or else he wouldn’t have put up 350 yards.
I like Stevie Nicks even more now… if that’s even possible.

Who’s going up against Garret? Skule? LMFAO.
I’m in my prime…
Love Flores sometimes…
We got rid of Sam Howell, I assume, because KOC didn’t have confidence he could get the job done as the backup. We brought Wentz in very late to replace Howell, and now Wentz is starting. So… we will trade Wentz? OK… that makes a lot of sense… not.
Pundits gonna pundit.
Clickbait.
GET YOUR PICKS IN FOR THE PICK ‘EM AND SURVIVAL LEAGUES BEFORE TOMORROW NIGHT’S GAME!
I am doing this now in case I forget tomorrow. I am going into a cornfield tomorrow and will probably not emerge from it until Saturday.
Hooray, I don’t have to worry about surviving anymore. First!
Wish he could play O line.
This really doesn’t look too good at the moment…
well, to be fair, other than Jurgens, who on here is a surprise?
we knew Jackson, Kelly, Mccarthy, O’Neill and Gink were out
Thanks for the breakdown.
The text is too small even with reading glasses to read much of it.
Even going to X is still to small help to read without changing all of my computer settings for this one report.
‘Getting Old Is Not For Sissys’
Laughing…. I understand SoCal. Completely.
You should be able to click on the image in X though to make it full screen.
I don’t need your ‘Pity Tech Support…..
Actually I do, thanks. I will give that a try on the next Injury Report.
Jurgens…heh heh
Laughing
There was a guy in AIT who would go into the bathroom stall every night with a bottle of Jurgens & a magazine.
No, it wasn’t me.
Sounds like something a guy who goes into stalls with Jurgens and a magazine might say…
He just said he didn’t go every night, not that he didn’t go every morning.
If Jurgens is out, who is our 3rd Center?
I think brandel has played center before at some point in college or pros, probably him
Then who’s at left guard. It could be a very interesting front 5 lineup.
Jurgens is listed as having a bad hamstring….don’t need a hamstring to play center….he will be fine.
Methinks our O-line is in trouble.
Shit, he’s injured too?
Yes… I have never played center, so I can’t volunteer or help.
I doubt you have enough ‘junk in your trunk’ to be very effective at OC in any case.
Hopefully…
Driving to Williston today.
Long day and I got a late start.
lots of running in practice last night, my legs are sore.
As long as you aren’t trying to jump a bike off a ramp, you should be good.
Williston is a ways up there north, my dad grew up in that area
Testes, testes. One, two. Three?
seems to be working now.
Hey GF, I just posted a twitter link above and it worked. No idea why I couldn’t do that earlier today.
A glitch in the matrix, obviously
So I guess we’ll see how many people die now that the Government is “shut down”. I lived through a few of these though. I was always designated as “essential personnel” and I continued working, while others just stayed home and relaxed. They eventually returned, none the worse for wear, and were paid in full for all the time they didn’t work.
The left always pushed this narrative that shutting down the Government would be a catastrophic event when they thought it worked to their political advantage. Now… not so much, and again because they think it will work to their political advantage. They don’t care about anything but but winning elections, and increasing their power and stranglehold on the citizens. I hope we end up being leaner, cheaper and better in the end though, and absolutely win big in the midterms.
midterms are going to be really important…generally the party in the white house doesn’t fare well….we absolutely need to beat the trend.
Dims are at their lowest rating in the history of polling.
With their policies I don’t see how they can get any of that back. ‘Trump Bad’ is not an effective Policy.

There were six ‘shutdowns’ while I was in the Army. Most lasted less than 30 days and so did not effect my paycheck.
The one that lasted longer the Government issued ‘Vouchers’ that most banks treated like paychecks and they were reimbursed when the shutdown ended.
So all in all there was no effect for the shutdowns.
I remember that SoCal. Shutdown where folks got vouchers. I was working the whole time though, grin.
‘I was working the whole time’
All of the service members were.
Suddenly my Twitter posts aren’t working… bother…
They aren’t embedding?
No, see below where I have the link posted and it doesn’t imbed.
I see that. I just posted one & it worked. Maybe there was an update that they completed.
99% sure it’s Ponder’s fault.
What did Sam do?

Myles Garrett (ankle) not expected to practice Wednesday.
I doubt he sits it out on Sunday, but one can hope.
Vikings starting OLine on Sunday:
LT: Christian Darrisaw
LG: Blake Brandel
C: Michael Jurgens
RG: Will Fries
RT: Justin Skule
Brown’s DLine:

Run Wentz! Run!
Any thoughts on the Browns starting the rookie Gabriel vs the Vikes on Sunday?
Will he provide a spark or will he be totally overmatched against our D?
Kind of a balance.
Flores normally eats rookie QBs for breakfast.
But then Vikings have a history of making rookies and back up look like Montana for a game.
We will see which one of those is a stronger trend on Sunday.
Without Gink, and with Turner apparently planning a 2026 breakout season, we might make Gabriel look like a 1st ballot HOFer.
However, Redmond seems to have hit another gear, so that will help.
3 comments and it’s after 9…
There was a lot of news to read about before coming here.
Plus it is only 8:15 here so not all that late.
Those are my excuses.
Coach Prime’s team needs lots of excuses.
They are not very good.
Now this is what I call a stat…

there’s probably a little more that goes into it, but he does elevate the defense when he’s in
Probably better that he misses a game or two now than to rush back and have the nagging neck injury the rest of the season.

Thanks Ben, don’t know why the link didn’t “take” in my post.
And yes, Van Ginkel does seem to light a match when he’s on the field.
He’s one of the most instinctive players I’ve ever seen, I really wish he could stay healthy because he makes a big difference when he’s out there
I think this is a salient point Ben. Many DC’s don’t want players who are too instinctive. They want players that do their job in their system, and not improvise or follow their instincts. Flores seems to be good with a guy like Van Ginkel though, and that makes his play impactful.
Cashman had lot to do with it too
Good morning, SKOL!

Well up early and off to DC today dealing with MIL’s health issues.
They say TSA may have some slowdowns. I’m like really – as slow as they are to begin with? They’d have to be going backwards then.
Damn, I love Congress!
Best wishes for your MIL.
You probably won’t see this before your flight, but all the best JR, hope the MIL issues aren’t life threatening.
Sorry to hear about your MIL, found out last week mine has cancer in her brain, lung, and spine, we’re still waiting to hear prognosis and plan moving forward
Condolences Ben. That looks like a pretty bad situation. Keeping you and your family in our prayers.
Oh man, that’s a tough one. Prayers for your family.
