Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
I hope everyone had a fun and enjoyable weekend. We stuck around the house for the most part, did a lot of cleaning and organizing. It was long overdue. My fantasy team sucked, Derby is beating me like a rented step-child, or is that a red-headed mule? One of those. I’m obviously losing, he saved me the trouble of having even a shred of hope heading into tonight’s games.
We have a Vikings game to look forward to this week, thankfully. The Vikings host the hated Eagles on Sunday, and it’s a noon kickoff, which is rare these days for the team. There have been lots of prime time games and the two overseas games, it’ll be nice to have a normal one. I hope they can find a way to give Philly another loss. The Eagles defense isn’t what it was last year, teams are finding weaknesses. The Eagles offense can put up some yards & points, but Jalen Hurts is not a strong passer of the football, if the Vikings defense can contain Hurts and prevent big runs, the Vikings should have a good chance of winning. I don’t know, I’m always nervous about these post-bye weeks, we tend to crap the bed in those, although KOC has mostly broken that “curse” since arriving.
Vikings and NFL News
The Vikings QB question for Sunday, and there’s no clear answer as of now, per Yahoo Sports. Neither Wentz nor McCarthy are 100% recovered from their injuries, so the guy who is the least injured will get the nod. Kinda reminds you of high school when the guy who was the least hammered drove the car home. Either that or rookie Max Brosmer will get his first start.
From Sports Illustrated, the NFL acknowledged the obvious, that a Will Reichard kick hit a camera wire during the Vikings-Browns game in London last week, and officials somehow managed to not see it. Even though they acknowledged the error, they said they will NOT make a statistical change to account for the error. NFL: “We screwed up, we admit that, we just won’t admit it”. Nice.
In their Monday Mailbag, Vikings.com takes a look at the aforementioned Will Reichard kick and peak ahead at the Eagles game.

Dan Campbell commented on Brian Branch’s post-game violence, calling it “inexcusable”, per NFL.com. In case you didn’t see it, Branch threw a punch at JuJu Smith-Schuster AFTER last night’s game.

The New York Post shares some video footage of Mark Sanchez on the night he got stabbed. Hey, at least this incident might help get the focus off of the butt-fumble.

- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Crap
Bears make it. Win 25-24.
Need a block… again.
Bears gonna take a knee at the 20 yard line, run the clock down, and kick the game winner here.
Big run by Swift. 15 yards.
Barring something crazy.
This is pretty much over.
First down Bears… Swift with the 10 yard run. Dammit.
Second and 6 at the Redskins 41. Redskins timeout.
That was just too easy.
Crap… first down bears at the 45.
As Justin Rose said at the Ryder Cup. Squeaky bum time.
Two minute warning. 3rd and 5 for the Bears on their 49. need a stop for a loss here. Sack or something.
3rd and 5… come on D!
This isn’t good.
CRAP… fumble! Bears got it.
Come on Skins… get this!
Bears take their first timeout.
3rd and 1 coming up… need this one.
Wow 15 yards for a first down!
Daniels get sacked! 3rd and long.
I was worried about a muffed punt, but the Redskins get it at their 40 yard line.
OK… 4th down. Bears punting.
WOW… lucky drop by the receiver for the Redskins… could have been a huge play.
OK, nice stuff on the run up the middle. Second down.
Kmet runs over the defender for 11 yards… offense offsides though. half the distance to the goal.
Bears get the defensive stop and force the punt. Now can the Redskins defense hold up? Ben Johnson has something in his back pocket I fear.
Roughing the passer call helps.
Nice kickoff return, and no flags!
Bears not ready to piss the game away just yet, still battling.
That Buffalo game was bad, their offense has looked like dog shit the last two weeks.
Yeah… wondering what’s going on.
At least this game is close and exciting.
10 minute TD drive????
2 point attempt fails though.
CRAP… TD Bears!
Stupid missed arm tackle.
TD Bores.
2pt try failed though.
Williams with deep bomb… almost intercepted.
Funny, Caleb pissing and moaning about his wrs not running correct routes, but not seeing when his wrs are running free and open
Another penalty on the kickoff… against the Redskins though.
Daniels with a really efficient night. 78% completion rate, 196 yards, 3 TD’s and that bad interception early in the game.
TOUCHDOWN REDSKINS!!!!!
Second and goal from the 6.
2 questions –
1- why don’t the Commies wear any maroon?
2- why is the world against any positive play by Odunze tonight? My FF team needs his contributions.
I hate the stupid black uniforms, but it seems like every team now has one.
37 yard pass to the Bears 7!!!
Nice pass to Ertz for a first down!
AND IT’S BLOCKED!!!! Redskins ball.
Wash blocks Bores FG attempt, still ahead and now with good field position.
Bobbled snap on the play, and Williams gets sacked at the 30 yard line. 4th and 6. End of the 3rd quarter. 47 yard field goal coming up.
TOUCHDOWN REDSKINS!
Was WR was way open on that TD throw.
Yep… couldn’t miss him…
Redskins going for it on 4th and 2 and complete a nice pass!
