So is it wrong that I have been considering shorter IO Linemen due to our QB1 being ‘hight challenged’?? Does it matter if the OG or OC is 6’6″ or 6’3″ if the guy at the center of the pocket is 5’11”??
So how many O-linemen are out there who are 5’8″?
If you count HS probably quite a few, not so much after that.
My question was more ‘does it make a difference to a 5-11 QB if his IOL is 6-6 or if they are 6-3 to 6-2?’. Hard to find shorter ones than that eligible for the draft.

Ha, I used to get my venison done from a place that had shirts say, “you may beat our prices, but you won’t beat our meat”. It’s been a few years since I’ve been there, but thought of it right away when reading your post.
I stopped by this place yesterday. They specialize in German Sausage/Meat and the owner offered a tour of the place. Very personal, bragging that their sausage was made ‘only with meat and spices’.

We discussed the Athletic Mock that had us going up to get him in the Top 5 of the draft.
No one here thought it was a good idea, he is not dropping to #18.
Over on the DN it is being discussed and the idea has a few supporters.
From everything I’ve read and seen from him, yeah, he’s that good. There are many talking heads that say he’s the best prospect in this draft.

Well yeah, but these are people that do this shit for a living. Some of these people spend hundreds of hours evaluating these guys that expect to be drafted. I tend to read their opinions than any others.

Meaning that they do it for the clicks since that is how they get paid.
It doesn’t mean that their content is any better than anyone else’s. Plus there are kickbacks for fluffing someones profile since the agents need people to think that the people they represent are good so they, and therefore the agent can get paid more.

Not sure I trust our current braintrust enough to judge someones long term prospects to that point.
Doing your best with the picks that you have is playing the odds, being sure enough to ‘bet the farm’ to move up for specific player requires a whole higher of trust in them to ‘get it right’.

I just read that Minnesota has put a bid in to host the 2028 NFL draft. Not many details yet if they were to get it. Probably be held around US Bank Stadium if I had to guess.

Yahoo Sports ranks the Vikings as having the worst Offseason in the NFL this year.
They mentioned we have only spent $19M so far in free agency this year but don’t mention the cap hole we were in.
Oh and they don’t think very much of the Kyler Murray signing.

Well we were the 2nd biggest spenders last offseason and look at what that got us.
So we might as well try being smarter/more frugal with the money this year.
It’s all about the QB in this sport, or at least a big part of it.

But now look at our QB room. We have three top 10 draftees on the roster – a one, a two, and a 10.
That’s probably the best in the league.
