It’s the peak of the month, the ides of January are upon us, stay safe. I’m having a tough time making my picks this week. It goes against my nature to even consider that the Bills might lose to the Broncos, and it seems laughable to think that the Bears just may be able to beat the Rams. Hweird. I’m rooting for Darnold, but I have a sneaking suspicion that he will turn into a pumpkin this weekend, I may pick the 9ers to win.

We need our justice system reformed. This post details the January 13, 2026, sentencing of Christian Moniz Rabino to five years’ probation for involuntary manslaughter in the 2024 death of 17-month-old Kai Tesoro, whom Rabino admitted to abusing by breaking both legs and causing fatal brain and retinal hemorrhaging due to frustration over the child’s inability to walk.
Clark County District Judge Jacqueline Bluth, despite expressing frustration with the plea deal from DA Steve Wolfson’s office citing evidentiary weaknesses, imposed only six weeks of anger management instead of up to six years in prison, allowing Rabino to avoid incarceration. he needs the death penalty. He viciously murdered a helpless child.
Well it was ‘only’ a white male child, not a real human person.

The combination of a new male in the household and an unrelated baby is a significant risk for morbidity and mortality of the baby. I guess we’re not as far removed from chimps and gorillas as we think.

Per the CDC…Research indicates that a non-biological parent or new partner is statistically more likely to fatally assault a child than a biological parent. The risk of child abuse is reportedly 40 times higher when single parents find new partners.
Well MT that’s all well and good, but I wouldn’t say it applies to any figurative we. People who abuse children are in a class all by themselves.
I’ve got the town hall from our congressman (Downing) streaming through my hearing aids. I just asked a question about Greenland (military takeover of Greenland by the US would trigger a NATO response). Downing recognizes the strategic value of Greenland but does not endorse military takeover or occupation.
My work today is done. Haha.
Like ‘military takeover’ was ever a possibility. Discussion of the possibility was only a negotiation ploy.
Now if Russia or China moved into Greenland then military options would be on the table.

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals ruled today, that a New Jersey district court lacked jurisdiction to grant habeas relief to Mahmoud Khalil, the Columbia University activist facing deportation for alleged pro-Hamas activities, vacating his release order.
Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, challenges to removal proceedings must proceed via petitions for review in federal circuit courts after a final order, not through district court habeas petitions, limiting lower courts’ role in such cases.
This precedent strengthens executive authority in immigration enforcement, potentially expediting deportations in similar high-profile visa revocation disputes and reducing judicial delays in Trump administration priorities.
Finally have some significant movement against activist judges trying to stop Trump from deporting enemies of the State.

Madison update:
The last few days have shown progress. She had a CT Scan on Sunday and they checked the spine and skull and determined there’s enough improvement to remove her neck brace. So they did. She had an MRI on Monday – results show 1 stroke. 2 other spots determined to not be strokes but brain trauma, which sounds scary but as I understand she can recover from.
She’s been off sedation for over 24 hours and she’s still out – they have some concerns regarding her level of disorientation and agitation as she comes to.
They’re looking to remove her shunt/drain (I don’t know what this is, or what it’s for) sometime early next week.
Miles to go before we sleep, but there’s been progress.
As always, appreciate the thoughts and prayers – yesterday, today and in the future. Not enough time to properly thank everyone. Just know we appreciate it.

Thank you for the update Mjolnir, God willing Madison will come to soon, and be able to communicate. We are still praying for her every day, and I personally know this includes several hundred people in my brothers church, and my wife’s friends and clients who pray together each day.
Sounds like slow by steady progress. Praying that trend will continue and a full recovery. Hope Dad is getting some rest (from the other days conversation).
Thank you for your updates MjoLnir….I am still praying….It is interesting how God whispers sometimes……A couple nights ago I received some bad work news late in the evening, it caused me to be in an agitated state inhibiting my sleep and feeling sorry for myself. I was getting ready to lay it at God’s feet through prayer and He gently reminded me that this was nothing – think of what Madison and her family are going through…so I changed my prayer at 12 midnight to focus on Madison…..then God sent me peace.
That might be a bit too religious for some of you….don’t care.

For decades, people were terrified of being labeled as a racist, bigot, Islamophobic, etc. Those days are coming to an end around the world now as people who are none of those things are sick of being labeled as such, and threatened by it. More and more people are feeling like “say what you want, it doesn’t have any deleterious effect on me at all”.
Equality is when you see a person for who they are, not their race, creed, or color.
Read up on what Booker T. Washington said about race baiting, and note when he said it.
My state legislature passed a bill requiring that you bring proof of citizenship for a drivers license renewal (as it will be stated on the license). I assume if you are not a citizen it will say N or not have a check mark or what have you. Since my license is due for renewal this year I got a letter in the mail asking me to bring proof of citizenship to the DMV when I renew. Easy peasy.
Letter in the local paper from a previous democrat legislator about how this is giving the federal government access to all sorts of privileged information and how will the poor people be able to get a copy of their birth certificate or (gasp) a $100 passport.
Makes me laugh, I simply cannot understand why one would not keep a current passport, let alone mind the federal government knowing the standard information on a state voter roll (in Canada the federal vote is overseen by a federal agency, unlike in the US). For that matter, I long since gave up any hope of robbing a bank without fear of being identified given my fingerprints during the citizenship process went to the FBI, my DNA is in a national data bank for bone marrow registry, and my fingerprints went to Helena for my CCW permit.
If the federal gov’t was run by Democrats, the previous Democrat legislator would have been fine with it.

The letter did say that I was receiving it because my citizenship had not previously been verified by the DMV. My wife got the same notice and is a derived citizen (born here). Perhaps you already verified citizenship with the DMV in some way.
The whole commentary by the left that requiring an ID to vote somehow disenfranchises minorities is a total lie. It’s a baseless narrative they push that fewer and fewer people are buying. Can’t buy liquor without ID. Can’t get on a plane without ID. Can’t drive a car without a license. You can’t even register for school without an ID. Can’t rent a house or an apartment, can’t open a bank account, can’t get utilities, can’t even get a job without an ID. It’s just a ridiculous, unfounded argument that millions of voters will be oppressed if they have to have ID to vote.

Went and picked up boneless spare ribs and fried rice for lunch from the Chinese place about a mile from us. They have a lunch plate special for $5.99 that includes a drink and an egg roll. The portion is large enough for two meals for me as well. Also, delicious.

The hospital has this huge salad with lettuce, carrot, etc the usual that they sell for $3.95. It is enough for a side salad for two or three meals for us. Of course it is the leftover from their daily salad bar but I am not picky.

While I fully believe fraud exists in every state…what is going on in Minnesota defies my belief…does no one ever check the books, taxes, logs of these shell companies? Now you have the governor and mayor of the largest city saying that they cherish their sanctuary status and want the federal LEO out of their lovely state, despite the mandate from the majority of voters in the last election to get every last illegal alien out of our country.
I say (with full knowledge of what it means) that if that is truly what the people of Minnesota want, then get every federal worker out of the state and cut off all federal funding, effectively severing them from the union. I see very little counter protesting from people that support the job that ICE is doing.
Anytime someone questioned what was going on, they were instantly vilified as racist and silenced. Walz and Ellison are both guilty of allowing this to continue for years. Attacking whistleblowers is the only chance for prosecution. I hope it happens.
I was thinking the same thing. We had a group of 4 people out protesting on Sunday, we are a small town. My wife told me that they called the Sherriff’s department because someone driving by in a truck revved their engine. I thought, why would they call authorities when they are out protesting authorities.
I was thinking it may be beneficial to the right’s side to go out and counter protest. The media only sees protests for the left side, so they assume that everyone feels the same way. Maybe we should all get together and protest outside the Good ladies funeral.
This is so fishy. Under the Patriot Act, there is a requirement that a financial institution must report to FINCEN all cash transactions of $10 thousand or more, a combination to that amount of a short period of time.
FINCEN then passes this along to DEA, FBI, IRS and others, to investigate. This amount, over several years, had to get a serious investigation.
Something big has to be going on here.

My sister (Calgary) slapped me with the whole “disappearing” of US citizens claim. After my “you must be shitting me” I asked for one verifiable document that proves this claim. I’m still waiting.

Our news sources are probably not sharing things as well.
I don’t think there’s any doubt that news sources shape their messaging on purpose. They don’t call it programming for nothing. They don’t cover certain stories at all and highlight others to the max from a very biased perspective, to condition the masses. That power of persuasion is starting to shift though as X (formerly Twitter) starts becoming more of the news source for folks. Mainstream media is slowly losing its grip on the messaging for the country. Their viewership is waning, and their ability to control what people know is weakening. The next generation are influenced more by on-line platforms, and those platforms share much different perspectives. The left certainly pushes their narratives on-line, but the counter information is shared just as voraciously. People can see that they are being manipulated by false, and misleading information.
I thought it was getting better, but with this ICE stuff in MN I’ve lost faith in that. I have many friends on Facebook posting about ICE being terrible, and these are supposed to be smart people. They clearly are only getting one side, and they eat it up (they’re liberal, so it’s not a surprise technically, but they should be smarter than that).

It took a while to be able to get that handle. I tried several times and it kept getting denied.
It was interesting (and boy this post would not last long on the other site), our “Alexa” dots and such have upgraded to an AI, the tech has reached the point you can have a real feeling conversation with the device, branching into different topics, even with a humorous tone.
I asked the AI the population of Somali immigrants in the US and Minnesota. You can ask the same questions. A number near 100K, many living in such and such neighborhood known as little Mog, and the AI goes on to say a thriving diaspora with African restaurants businesses grocery stores and that the population has enriched the community with many professionals, tradespeople, etc. As the conversation carries on, I asked what percentage of the Somali immigrant population receives government assistance, basically it comes to about 83% between Medicaid and (larger percentage) food stamps. I asked if the AI sources were biased, how could a population be described as thriving, assimilated, and enriching if 4 in every 5 individuals receive government assistance compared to something like 35% in the gen pop of MN. AI states things like language barriers, difficulty assimilating when they have recently moved from Mog, cultural barriers, etc. The conversation then continued down the “why have they not assimilated and why language barriers when they have lived for a generation or more here” which is a fun little rabbit hole.
Bottom line the news sources the AI utilizes would have you believe that that particular diaspora has enriched the state while painting some dismal statistics.
I did enjoy the Nick Shirley bit last night, getting chased out of the HQ of various driving/transportation depots where none of the vehicles have been used in months. It truly makes me yearn to see if I could open a transport company here in GDV to drive people back and forth from Billings, register all my vehicles to the company, and start raking in dough for nonexistent trips.

This is conjecture… and really unfounded. Jaxson Dart is considered by many to be a really promising young QB, and the Giants have high-potential talent, especially on the defensive line with guys like Dexter Lawrence, Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Abdul Carter, creating a formidable pass rush. Every coach knows defense starts in the trenches, and the Giants are in solid shape there. Yes, they need more help on that side of the ball, as overall they struggled in 2025 with poor run defense and inconsistent play, but it’s not in terrible shape. Just need a little more depth and better performance from the secondary and better play from Paulson Adebo and Jevon Holland. I think Harbaugh can get that defense humming.
In the end Harbaugh isn’t going anywhere he doesn’t think he can win. Period.
