Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts
Wow, the Vikings’ move at GM caught me a bit off-guard. Looking at the state of the team, the cap situation, and the numerous bad misses in the draft, it’s not shocking to see the Wilfs make a move. It was mainly surprising because they’d just signed KAM to an extension last year, but it encourages me that the Wilfs are willing to see a mistake and correct it rather than sticking with something that isn’t working.
Overall, KAM wasn’t horrible at his job, drafting was a major weakness and several recent key roster decisions turned out badly. Letting Darnold go was obviously a bad choice, using hindsight, and entering the year with no real option at QB behind McCarthy hurt the team A LOT in 2025. Passing up on Kyle Hamilton in year one was a bad mistake, along with many other questionable draft decisions. In the end, the Wilfs decided that the team would be better off entering the off-season without KAM rather than with him. The Vikings long-time cap guru, Rob Brzezinski, will guide the ship as interim GM until the team searches for their next General Manager.
I honestly have more confidence going into the draft now. I’m guessing Rob will defer to the expertise of the scouting team, and go with what they recommend, which is wise. Always listen to the boots on the ground…….ALWAYS.
Vikings and NFL News
From Vikings.com, Vikings owner Mark Wilf explains their decision to make a change at the GM position.
Vikings.com also provides an update from the Senior Bowl practices.
Fox Sports ranks and grades all 10 NFL coaching hires this year.
The Patriots and Seahawks landed in San Jose ahead of Super Bowl LX, per NFL.com. I’m not sure why this is news, I’m pretty sure everyone expected the two teams to fly in prior to the game, arriving after the game is over wouldn’t do much good.
The 49ers are hiring Raheem Morris to be their new defensive coordinator, per NFL.com.
Yahoo Sports reports that Drake Maye is dealing with a shoulder injury. This time of year, almost every player is dealing with injuries to most parts of their bodies. Might as well just report when someone ISN’T dealing with an injury.
Media Selection
I can’t remember if I shared this one last week, it’s really good.

After looking at the picture up top several times today, I’m convinced that guy and Phil must be relatives.
Laughing… definitely a family resemblance there.
So he is related to the groundhog??
I think that there is law against that.
Love it.
Why did the Vikings fire Kwesi?
JJ (QB)s back up next year??
Or vice versa?
Really doesn’t matter, they’re both hurt all the time.
They can take turns then, maybe we get 17 games out of the pair.
Forget Tua, after thinking about it. He plays terrible when the temperature is below 70 and we do have to play in Chicago and Green Bay.
I think this is a fabricated post…
Well Duh,
Posts don’t make themselves, someone has to ‘fabricate’ it.
Fabricated facts..
He’s back…
I blame Ponder.
Here check out the Reddit outrage about this. This is the kind of attitude the average redditor thats not a bot or paid off mod/user has. Its astounding.

No thanks.
Come on, dont you want to see a coordinated psy-op combined with total stupidity?!
Was there “really” a chance he wouldn’t be back?
Guarantee you there’s psychos writing/ calling into the station and the Vikings org right now throwing a hissy fit. Not a lot, but theres some. Cancel culture never sleeps. So yeah, there’s always a chance.
Glad the “very vocal (but dead wrong) minority wasn’t listened too
I personally could take or leave his radio show, but he hands down is one of the best radio play by play announcers. Not because he is perfect, but because he is emotional and is a fan himself and genuinely wants the Vikings to win and doesn’t hide it.
This. Love PA & Pete Bercich. Both love the team and have no problem giving honest commentary. And they’re hilarious.
Talk about not reading the room…
I mean, factually not incorrect.
I mean his son is factually one of the worst, if not THE worst QB in the NFL. I’d say Deion crowing about this BS accomplishment is galling to pretty much any fan.
Interesting that Deion’s name starts with DEI…
Pretty sad that literally nobody want to go to the PB games, they had to get sanders and then Flacco both who were backups/part time starters last season
*pro bowl games, which technically didn’t exist when Deion played
US-India trade deal announced by President Trump after a call with PM Modi. This what being the President of the United States should look like.
Agreed. Now stop believing Pootin and his empty promises.
Trump is slowly squeezing the life-blood out of Russia, by making other countries stop buying their oil. Europe signed a massive agreement to buy U.S. oil and stop buying Russian oil, and so have many others. India is a big one. So step by step, inch by inch, Trump is killing the Russian war machine by cutting the countries oil revenue.
Yeah, I’ve been watching that. I wonder if Don has been playing along with Pootin so he doesn’t drop the big one out of desperation. The slow choke is the way to go.
BTW…I didn’t know that India had a stick up tha but about us. After we helped them become agriculturally independent and all! Been watching a series of videos (speeches and interviews) of Sarah Paine (US Naval War College)…very informative on history of conflicts, especially Russian conflicts.
Dr Paine is an amazing person and intellect. You’re getting the real deal stuff following her.
She does NOT like what Don is doing (tariffs) to our allies.
She’s sure we’re starting a new Cold War but with China this time. Reagan got us fully aligned with our allies in order to prosper so much that it was obvious, even to a closed society (USSR).
Proof that even ‘ an amazing person and intellect’ can still be wrong.
Correct, but she definitely knows her stuff regarding geopolitical history. She is very strong on Asian conflicts, and is almost encyclopedic when answering history questions. Her economic views on tariffs align with well educated economists. That is to say at odds with the President. That’s OK, he proved them all wrong. She’s also a bit of a passivist, wanting the world to find “win/win” solutions versus exercising military power. Still she’s considered an expert on policy and strategy at the U.S. Naval War College.
Think maybe the Vikings should go after Deshawn Watson.
Appears Minneapolis favors child molesters, sex trafficers and in general sexual perverts.
Watson would be a perfect fit.
Sad but true.
Yeah, but he just became a Christian, so that means he is a white supremacist and not allowed to partake in Minnesota nice.
He wouldn’t be the first black white supremicist…

Nice? Look like a bunch of derelicks, trans, and misfits.
Anybody use BG 44K fuel system cleaner?
No, I just started eating more fiber.
Figured he was talking about some IPA or other.
I prefer royal purple myself, I also run cataclean through every 50k or so
Yeah… it’s like that… Trump initially said that a lot of innocent people would suffer if the Epstein files were fully released, so he was reticent about doing that. Then the uproar grew, and he said “OK, you got it. Here you go!” Now folks are screaming for the files to be hidden.
Not sure how much a lawsuit will help since they are online due to an act of Congress signed into law by the President.
Not sure who really wanted what?
Throughout the Biden Admin there was no desire for a file dump and I don’t recall a big outcry for it.
Now, Trump gets elected and a big cry for release. This is all about finding crap on Trump. Did you hear the village idiot Schumur last week, DOJ needs to swear to us that they didn’t withhold any information regarding Trump.
Well they have to be hiding some files since nothing is a ‘gotcha’ for Trump.
Oh and the ‘Not Trumps’ stuff is fake and just a distraction from the DJT stuff.
Been around for a while (i e I’m old), and have never seen a political party so Desperate to get some dirt on an opponent. They are completely consumed with Trump. Not sure there has ever been anything like this in our history.
The whole Epstein outcry effort was only meant to injure Trump. Dem’s don’t really care about victims or any terrible things that have happened. Every day they are fully invested in damaging Trump any way possible, and that’s it.
I have been out of the loop. Has anything interesting happened?
@Not so much@
The Germans bombed Pearl Harbor…
Dang. I hope the USS Monitor wasn’t in port.
Clever
No but the Merrimack was.
I am kind of interested in the fact that we are going back to the moon real soon.
I hope they bring back some rocks.
Go “back”? @We never went there in the first place@
No
Me too. Words up top state that KAM got fired. @boy will I miss him@
I am really surprised the Wilfs stepped up and fired him.
Now I am actually excited to see where the team goes from here. Ergo, I agree with firing him. It pretty much had to be done at this stage.
But what was Sydney Sweeney wearing?
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/style/chappell-roan-naked-dress-grammys-2026-1236491980/
This is ridiculous.
I have to be honest, that is kind of scary.
Damn she’s so ugly she should cover as much up as possible including a veil over her face.
Yikes. She is a walking argument FOR hijabs…
There are a multitude of reasons why I do not watch any “award” shows. The top reason is I have absolutely no interest in the self adoration of all of these groups, but the picture above is another reason I do not watch.
I enjoyed the bit about no one can be illegal on stolen land. Meanwhile the artist has no problem buying a big home and recording in a huge studio…on stolen land.
Minnesota has issues…
There’s bullshit and then there’s bullshit.
I would love to see the Somalis, or any of the woke movement, to actually hit the beaches at Iwo Jima.
Bunch of word merchants that have nothing but hot air.
It is my personal take that the Vikings missed wide right with hiring KAM. I remember after the first draft, all the criticism he received. I also remember people saying things like “he’s still learning, so give him some time”. I replied to that with “No, when you hire a person to run your organization, there isn’t a “learning curve”. You hire a fully qualified person who can immediately take you to the next level”.
Hiring someone based on perceived potential, or abstract views is stupid. The Vikings are a $6B organization. You hire a guy who has never run any organization? Yeah… I cannot believe how stupid these people are.
Now I’m seeing pundits writing “the Wilf’s will be looking to hire someone with real football experience to run the team”. Brilliant.
His trades were pretty bad. He loved to overpay
Thousands and thousands of books have been written on leadership and management. In the end, the simple ability to lead people is based on having a clear vision, and a clear and proven methodology to achieve that vision. In the NFL that boils down to what is commonly referred to as the “X’s and O’s and Jimmies and Joe’s”.
Teams that do the best job of bringing in the best players and putting them in the best schemes to ultimately achieve their highest potential, are successful. The pillars are a strong defense, and a capable/potent offense. Games are won first in the trenches. Great lines on both sides of the ball are the foundation you build on. A QB that doesn’t make bad mistakes, and runs the offense efficiently is vital. A strong run game is going to make you tougher to beat, especially outdoors in December and January.
These are the fundamentals to building winning teams, and everyone knows them. GM’s need to hire coaches, and develop the fiscal strategy to achieve these cornerstone tenets of a great team.
Finally, exceptional communication and organizational skills are required. Whomever is hired must have a proven track record in leading a large, complex organization to success.
Hughes already went to the Wild.
Giannis to the T-Wolves?
Burrow to the Vikings?
Salary Cap to the Twins?
I believe 2-3 are very thin chances, with the 4th an absolute no way.
I would hate to see what we would have to give up to get Giannis, probably sell the future.
Agreed. Don’t sell the current team to get him. He’ll probably be injured.
That said, sell the future by including draft picks for sure. Win a championship now. The league will collapse in the future anyway.
Yeah, I truly hope they don’t mortgage the future for this often injured player. The wolves would have to give up to many good players for this to happen. Just get a true point guard in a trade and keep this train rolling!
I’m not sure the wolves have the assets to get Giannis, I don’t think the bengals will seriously entertain offers for burrow, the Pohlads can get bent.
Great media selection.
Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a religion of conquest.
Keeping them out completely is the only way. It will never happen here..
Poland has it right. Zero terrorist attacks, and zero Muslim immigration allowed.
Meanwhile, mention anything about the ongoing and rampant Somali fraud in MN and you get labeled a racist. This has nothing to do with race, and everything to do with the global violent conquest that Islam calls for.
@happy monday@
You are correct… and happy Monday back at you.
Just mention the white lady that ran the whole scam. 😂
Punxsutawney Phil says 6 more weeks of winter. Hope everyone is safe, as I see a lot of folks are suffering from power outages associated with the winter cold. Keep those people in your prayers.
Also, let’s start the week by keeping Mjolnir and Madison in our prayers.
6 more weeks? I don’t think we’ve had 6 days of winter yet. It was like 65 yesterday and supposed to push 70 on Thursday. Guess I better get my golf clubs out since I’m obviously not going to be using my ice fishing gear.
Let’s trade, high of 42 yesterday here. I’d take 65 everyday of the year and my golf clubs are ready to go.
It’s sunny and 36 degrees here at the moment. Supposed to be a high of 52 today. Those poor frozen Iguana’s….
Sun is just coming up and it’s already 44. Accuweather says 58 for a high today. What is up with the iguanas? I saw a headline that Florida was doing something to save them, but I thought they were an invasive species they want to get rid of?
They are an invasive species. I think the fact that they are freezing and literally falling out of trees is a win for the State. Of course the overly emotional liberals are crying about it.
I am sure they will find a way to blame it on Trump or racism.
Probably :

But even though they fall out of trees they are still very much alive, As soon as the temperature rises they are back to normal.
They should be rounding them up as they fall out of trees and drowning them.
My wife used to do cancer research at USF. She would inject mice with cancer cells, and measure tumor growth under varying levels of treatment. She was actually curing cancer in the lab, as some mice never developed tumors at all with the full treatment. Others that received no treatment developed tumors quickly. Saturdays were “euthanasia” day at the lab. She would take the mice that needed to be destroyed, and put them in this clear plastic gas chamber. She would turn on the gas, and they would just sort of go to sleep, and pass away. They weren’t twitching or suffering, or anything.
They could do that with the Iguana’s or just drown them as you say.
22 LR is cheap or if you want to get fancy a saline shot to the heart does the trick. Mass gas chamber seems like you might just be asking the internet for memes.
Helium doesn’t sound like a bad way to go. If I’m ever diagnosed with an incurable cancer you better believe I’ll go the medically assisted death rather than spend my last days in intractable pain and crapping my pants.
I’m going to tie a steak around my neck and find a grizzly bear to wrestle.
Yeah cuz that won’t be painful at all.
Hope that Grizzly isn’t horny at all.
#ewww
Moffitt Cancer Center?
No, she worked with a Dr in a health research lab at USF.
Who would have thought it would be warmer in Montana than Florida, in February?
Well, maybe you can come down here and do some fishing and freeze, and I can go up there and play golf in the warm sunshine.
Definitely colder further to your east in eastern MT, but we have no snow left.
The Twinkies and Falvey “mutually” decided it would be best for Falvey to not be a member of the Twins front office.
https://twinsdaily.com/news-rumors/minnesota-twins/what-the-derek-falvey-to-depart-minnesota-twins-front-office-r19708/
For those that are not aware, in business speak “mutually decided” = fired for incompetence.
Are you trying to say that Derek Falvey did not walk out of their discussions saying ” what this organization really needs, is for me to walk away. I have done an excellent job, but it would be in both mine and the Twins best interest for me to not be here”.
He probably walked away thinking, yeah, they’re not winning shit cutting their payroll every year because the owners run their businesses like morans and have to cover the losses for other failed business ventures.
Happy Monday,

I was going to post this, but figured I would save it for tomorrow.
