Vikings News
Not much excitement in the NFL news cycle today. Patrick Mahomes posted a video of him throwing a football about four months after having surgery for a torn ACL. It would have been more impressive if he would have kicked a football, his torn ACL wasn’t in his arm, it was in his leg.

Minnesota submitted a bid to host the 2028 NFL Draft, per Vikings.com.
Sports Illustrated guessed projected the full Minnesota Vikings 2026 depth chart.
The Sporting News suggests some teams who would be interested in trading for Jordan Addison, if the Vikings choose to put him on the market.
For only the second time in history, the NFL will open the season on a Wednesday this year, per the AP.
Florida Attorney General, James Uthmeier, warns the NFL to drop the ‘Rooney Rule’ or they will face legal consequences, per MSN. I agree with the points he makes, I’m not a fan of the rule. I think a team should hire the best person for the job.
In the latest NFL news from Yahoo Sports, the ‘tush push’ will be back in 2026 and will NOT go up for a vote at this year’s owner’s meetings.
The NFL and the NFL Referee’s Association broke off negotiations on a new collective bargaining agreement, per ESPN. Yay, a referee strike! I don’t care, the replacement refs can’t be much worse. Honestly, I think the NFL is to blame for the poor officiating, they’ve over-complicated everything to the point where it’s next to impossible to officiate.
CBS Sports points out every team’s biggest need after two weeks of NFL free agency.
NFL.com ranks the 11 position groups in the 2026 NFL Draft from strongest to weakest.

- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

Sorry Mjolnir but Nebraska’s Cinderella slipper has slipped off, 77-71 to Iowa.
I know you said you would be good either way but condolences anyway.
I know what you’re all doing….
you’re downplaying it on purpose so you don’t get too excited. I get it.
but….
the biggest game in Nebraska Basketball history is tonight.
Sweet 16 matchup vs IOWA.
NEVER thought I’d see this. Ever.
Playing with house money, so win or lose tonight I’m not disappointed.
but we might as well go win.

Basketball is still a thing?
Also, a “Sweet 16” sounds like something that’ll land a guy in prison.
Rec for funniness
Isn’t it football season yet?
Patrick made that tweet at 5:26 PM, so he is technically correct.
“Nobody in the building” has given up on McCarthy because they all went home at 5. The building was empty…
Good Get.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced a new policy barring transgender athletes who identify as women from competing in the female category.
About effing time.
I guess Commifornia will have to ban the Olympics for not being inclusive and violating state law.
No LA Olympics in 2028 I guess.
I’m a fast player, and really a rhythm guy. I do struggle to hit a high quality shot after a long wait.
I hate waiting to hit the ball. I try to play whenit is not crowded, or it us not enjoyable.
I think most people dislike slow play. Right now, our courses down here are crowded, and slow. One reason I only play 9 holes is sometimes it takes 3 hours to play them. I have learned to stay in the cart, and talk to my playing partners between shots. I try to take my focus off what’s going on (or not going on) in front of me. Still I like to play fast, and I play better when I play fast.
I played 18 yesterday in 3 hours. First golfer out. But i had to wait for the mowers. Cold and wet, but i shot 90. I am starting to get back in tne groove after a long winter
I tend to try and play early if I can too, but a lot of the courses around here have guys who somehow game the system to garner the early tee times. I’ll look on-line to find an early start, only to see all the morning times are gone, and only the afternoon tee times are available. I’ll still drive out to a course early in the morning though to see if I can get on as a single, in case someone cancels. There’s a couple courses that will let me go out as a single on the back 9 by myself too. When I do that, I’m done in about an hour and 15 minutes. Then I go get breakfast.
It looks so depressing compared to the fun, colorful books and previous movies.
Busy week, finishing up two contracting jobs (finally), finishing inspections, then kiddo has a basketball tournament in Bottineau on Saturday (about 3 hours), so I’m getting him out of school at lunch tomorrow so we can head up there, do a little hiking along the way, and settle in early. The parents all want to caravan together. No thanks, they don’t want to leave until 2:00, and I KNOW they won’t drive fast enough. We’ll see them when they get there.
I’ve never been fond of caravanning anywhere, for all the reasons you noted. When I drive a long way, I like to leave early, and arrive early.
Bring a coat Bottineau hasn’t given up winter yet was -4 wind chill this morning
Hey MT,
Ever been to Banff, Alberta?
My daughter has been there this week for an immunology conference.
Pictures look beautiful.
Mt Viking was conceived in Banff.
The Timberpuppies were down by 13 in overtime last night and came back and won.
Largest OT time comeback in NBA history, pretty epic. And shorthanded to boot without Anthony Edwards.

Yep, changed the channel right before the comeback, you’re welcome. I didn’t think the refs were going to let them come back.
I watched the 1st half, switched to something else at halftime and got distracted. Later I saw that it was in OT I switched back and got to watch the ending.
It was a heck of a game.
Saw this…
10 Signs You’re Living Under a Tyrannical Regime
1. Exploit emergencies to expand power under the guise of stability.
2. Indoctrinate children through education and suppress critical thinking.
3. Control the flow of information and punish dissent.
4. Label critics as extremists or threats to the state.
5. Weaponize identity politics to divide and scapegoat.
6. Distort history to justify their rule.
7. Use police power to crush protests and silence opposition.
8. Spread fear propaganda to manufacture obedience.
9. Manipulate the judicial system to protect the regime.
10. Enforce mass surveillance to control behaviour.
But thankfully… none of this is happening, right?
Keep it going MinneSomalia. You’re giving the UK something to strive for.
He’s got my vote!
Islam is the enemy of the West. They aren’t here to assimilate.
Getting some stuff for “the fishing.”
Played 9 holes yesterday, and shot 42. It was a decent round. Kept the ball in play, hit a few good shots, but didn’t have a lot of close birdie opportunities. Played with three other older guys and they were all basically the same skill level as me. They were fun to be around. We all stopped after 9, and had a sammich and a beer at the clubhouse bar to finish it off. Very enjoyable round.
Played nine yesterday hit the ball very solidly. Bought a new club – a 9 wood – and it has totally changed my game. You can hit this club from any lie and it just goes high and far. it’s like cheating almost. It really makes the game fun. Would recommend everyone give it a try.
I might try that. I play with a driver, 3 wood, 5 wood, 7 wood, and hybrid in my bag. Not sure where a 9 wood would fit in.
As I recall you’re not a high swing speed player. I’m not either at this point.
When I play with a full bag I go with – Driver, 5 wood (18*). 9 wood (23*), 26 and 29 hybrids, then 7 iron down. With this set up I can get both distance and height like I did 15 years ago, and cover all the yardages.
Yeah, after breaking my back in a helicopter crash once upon a time, I don’t torque my body much, and I don’t create a lot of clubhead speed. I mostly make my bones making solid contact. I took my 5 iron out of my bag and replaced it with a gap wedge years ago. I get off the tee decent, get the ball up around the green decent, and then use my three wedges a lot.
Most of the time when I play, and for practice purposes, I play with a minimalist bag – Driver, 7 wood, hybrid, 7 and 9 irons, PW,SW and putter.
Score just as well really. It’s amazing when you play with just a few clubs, you get pretty good at hitting those few clubs.
I agree, and really my wedges are the best part of my game, because I hit them a lot. I consider myself a “good” wedge player, not great. I have my moments where I hit some great wedges, but really, I don’t hit a poor shot with them very often. Usually make good contact, and get it within 15 feet or so.
There’s a 2 club tournament my buddy is trying to talk me into next weekend. 2 person scramble and each person gets to pick 1 club. The two of you can share your clubs, but between the two of you, you get to use 2 clubs for 18 holes.
Sounds like fun. Maybe a hybrid and 9 iron. Putt with hybrid and all pitch type shots with nine,
Tee to green, get the most of the two clubs.
Sounds really fun
Laughing… that is some format there Bow. Let us know how you guys do.
Played my first 9 of the year on Friday. Shot a 36, just don’t ask what the par was.
Laughing… if I don’t kill or maim anyone during my round, I consider it a good one.

Can’t blame the fans, honestly. He’s gotta prove he can stay healthy. I hope he proves everyone wrong.
It sure seems like the Vikings FO doesn’t have a lot of hope in him, or at least in his ability to stay healthy.
Fragile McPonder @will be fine@
I can’t wait for the Jefferson rumors to start rumbling week 7.
Jefferson rumblings? Of what? breaking 2000 yards?
Combination of fragility and stupidity is always what the fans want.
We fans are quick to annoint someone as the savior, and also quick to cast them aside.
Ain’t that the truth.
I think the term “given up” is a bit over the top, but he showed me last season he was nowhere near ready to take the reins of an NFL offense and run it. Whether he ever gets there is still a question mark.
FTP Auto Rec.
i’m definitely of the fan base that is more worried about his ability to stay healthy than i am worried about his actual nfl skills
Agreed.
I expect him to improve but it is difficult to improve if you are always hurt.
