Vikings News

It’s finally Friday!

NFL News

From Vikings.com, they re-tell the story of Randy Moss’ historic pro day.

Newsweek looks at the stats and numbers that will bring solid trade value for Jonathan Greenard.

\Yahoo Sports reports that Jonathan Greenard’s steep contract demands are the main issue holding up a trade from happening. Makes sense, the Vikings aren’t willing to pay him that much, either. That’s why they’re trading him.

The Eagles are one team interested in Jonathan Greenard, and they aren’t the only team who’s interested, per Sports Illustrated.

Sports Illustrated looks at the Vikings position groups that got better and worse so far this off-season.

CBS Sports ponders which team Kirk Cousins will join prior to the season.

From CBS Sports, Tom Brady inquired about making a(nother) comeback, but the NFL nixed that idea.

Puka Nacua is being sued over remarks he made that someone considered antisemetic, from Yahoo Sports. Sued? Over words? How dumb.

Madden Greenway, daughter of Vikings great Chad Greenway, set the Minnesota high school record for career points in basketball, with 5621 career points.

Pennsylvania State House Democrats are being eviscerated nationwide after PULLING a Women’s History Month resolution because they didn’t want to define the term “woman”.

Dem’s are beyond the pale irrational. Hope the majority of people in our country are seeing this lunacy and deciding they don’t want these psycho’s running anything.

I have done about 10 mock drafts so far this season. In the last four, Jeremiah Love has still been there at 18 twice now. Maybe he is falling on the official boards?

I did one this morning that he was there at #18, first time for me.
I picked him and that moved S, DT and OC back one round.
So getting Love equaled lower picks at other positions of need.
Is he worth that? Answering that is above my Pay Grade.

I think you have to take him if he is there at 18…and I say that as a person who has never watched a single college football game, so I ought to know.

Could be.
We didn’t need AD back when we drafted him but he was certainly worth it long term.
All I/We can do is draft with the best information we have at the time. After that what happens is nothing we can control.

I don’t think he makes it out of the top 10….

Cardinals or Titans is my thinking. If not them, the Skins are sitting there at 8 and need the backfield help too.

Yeah, I don’t think he will make it to 18 either. He usually goes to the Skins at 7. A couple times he has gone 10-14 range, which was the Bengals, Dolphins, Boys, Rams, Ravens. I am not sure if there were trade ups involved, though.

The one I would want to drop to us is Caleb Downs the top rated Safety.
I have yet to see it but crazier things have happened, or so I have heard.

The one consistent faller in the mocks I’ve done has been Sonny Styles – who also happens to be my draft crush. If he were there at 1.18 I’d say ‘need be damned’ and take him in a heartbeat. I’ve got Patrick Willis vibes with this kid, think he could be that good.

The ‘expert’ consensus from what I’ve seen is Thieneman from Oregon. Don’t hate that pick either – expecting him to be the next Hitman isn’t realistic, but he appears to have some versatility with where he lined up at Purdue and then Oregon. Might/could be the 1st Dillon Thieneman instead of the 2nd Harrison Smith…..

Styles is a great player/LB.
Is he the best player for us at #18 if he is there? I have no clue.

I have even tried drafting OT Fano (top 10 rated) at #18 because he worked out as a OC at the combine. I figured a Top Ten OL that can play center would go a long way to fix our issues there, finally.

He would definitely be BPA at 18. I’d run to the podium if Sonny was there at 18. He’s never gotten out of top 10 in my mocks. Love has been there at 18 one time in all the ones I’ve done.

But that’s one of the few positions we NEED someone to come in and contribute day 1 yes? We can get away with a RB, C… But Safety and DT immediate contributor correct?

Edgecrusher71
27 March 2026 9:14 am

I am torn about biggest need on the team. If we are talking actual pool of talent it’s for sure Safety. BUT, DT is a bigger impact position.

For offense, on the OL honestly even at center Brandel did admirably last year having never played the position, one would think he would get better with a whole offseason focusing on that yes? Don’t get me wrong I’d take an actual center and obviously depth. But what I think is worrisome is that right now our biggest running threat is our injury prone Santa’s little helper of an angry elf (did I make enough pop culture references poking fun at the low hanging fruit of Kyler’s height?).

The entire QB room seems injury prone. But three should get us thru the season.
Overall, believe you can never have enough good lineman around.

I have been going S, DT, OC with my mock drafts.
Top DTs are available in the 2nd round and top OCs are not really rated until the 3rd round.
After that it has been BPA for depth as they appear.

So, do you feel that a third round OC could contribute at a higher level than Brandel who has shown he can play? I just haven’t followed the talent this year like I have in previous years. I worry about the DT market because there might be 2nd round level talent but that can be a position that goes on a run early as one domino falls.

I love a great RB, but if the oline is strong, we will be fine. Last year we were 11th in YPC. So that part is not broken. Invest in secondary or

Kids trout openner tomorrow in PA. Must be under 16 to fish. It is a great program. I am taking the 14 year old grandkid and one of his fishing buddies. Gonna be cold but they will catch fish. 2 years ago, grandkid caught a 16 inch golden rainbow.

Out here at the edge of the philly ‘burbs, not many kids do this stuff. I glad my grandson amd his friends are into it.
