Vikings News & Random Thoughts
Happy Monday, everyone! I hope y’all had a great weekend. Kiddo and I had a blast up in Bottineau (North Dakota), kiddo’s team had a basketball tournament up there on Saturday, so we made a road trip out of it. They did really well, won 2 out of 3 games (barely lost to the best team in the tournament), played tough through some adversity, and played hard the whole tournament. Kiddo sprained his ankle during the second game, but he came back in after we got it wrapped up & helped his team. I was really proud of all of them, they’re a great group of kids. I’ve coached a lot of the kids on the team in baseball & football, so getting to go watch them as a fan/parent is a lot of fun.
We also did our annual Christmas tree torch last night, kiddo had a couple of his friends over, this thing went up huge. We had a lot of fun. When will I grow up? I hope never.
I was saddned to hear the news of Joey Browner passing away. I loved Browner, he’s easily in my top 5 favorite Vikings of all time. I’ve grown to respect him even more as I learned of how good of a person he was in real life. Dude was tough as nails and very, very talented, and LOT of fun to watch. Dude hit like a Mack truck and a fantastic all-around safety. He was drafted in 1983, is in the Vikings Ring of Honor, and I believe he was a 1st team All-Pro three different times.

Some cool insight here from Cris Carter. I like Carter, he obviously has great football knowledge, and I think people underestimate his intellgence.

Do you guys remember this game? I do.
I was stationed in Germany so I didn’t get to see that game. I read about it later.
I watched this, plus the end is posted on Youtube. Fun watch
Democrats will fight harder for the baby in the womb of an illegal to become an American citizen, than they’ll fight for the baby in the womb of an American, and their right to life.
Truth.
‘Democrats will fight harder for the baby in the womb of an illegal to become an American citizen, than they’ll fight for
the baby in the womb ofan American, and their rightsto life.FIFY
Well, OK, but for years the Dems have told us unborn babies don’t have rights when it comes to abortion.
Today, liberals told us unborn babies do have rights when it comes to citizenship. The left is just effing screwed up between the ears. They argue like a 3rd grader and people still give them credence.
They don’t need logic when 1/3rd of the country has TDS and another 1/3rd isn’t paying attention so they can ignore the final 1/3rd.
The Dem’s decry an imperial Executive while embracing an imperial Judiciary. This is a threat to the country. Unelected Judges overruling the President? Legislating from the bench, and usurping the role of Congress? Yeah, we need some house cleaning to get the country back on track.
It is an interesting judicial question. For me, it is the phrase, “and under the jurisdiction of” that is interesting. Is someone here illegally, under the jurisdiction of this country?
The U of M mens basketball team is competing in the quarterfinals tonight of the College Basketball Crown. I assume is like the old NIT Tournament for those teams that didn’t make the College Championship Tournament. They play Baylor University in about 2 hrs and 30m in Vegas, I was sure all of you who are still on the thread would still want to know.
I am not going to make a comment so that I am not considered Sexist. I will just leave this here.

I’m not politically correct, and don’t care what other people think of me, so I’ll just say what I think. The NFL IS sensitive to being politically correct, and being accused of anything remotely connected to identity politics is very worrisome to them. If they are letting this woman go, it’s because she underperformed. They’ll show in court how she missed calls, etc. and simply didn’t meet the standard. Cut and dry.
I figure she was a DEI hire so that the NFL could virtue signal by hiring.
She sucked as practically all DEI hires do.
Agree
And now she is a ‘woman scorned’ because she believed the hype and so she is out for revenge, hence the lawsuit.
Feminist indignation. You can’t fire me… I’m the first woman who ever held this position. I’m an icon. I’m a historical figure. I broke through the glass ceiling. Etc.
We’ll be subjected to a litany of sexist ruminations. Deep thoughts by every conceivable pundit and social justice expert who have to weigh in to save society from itself.

I think this is probably just click bait. Nix has shown promise on the field with the Bronco’s and Rodgers isn’t gonna give up a starting gig to be a backup. Might be a rumor pushed by his agent to attempt to get the Steelers to offer more money to sign him.
Yeah I figure they ‘have interest’ in him as a Vet Backup.
No way is he passing up a starting gig with the Stealers for that.
MOAR Minnesota Vikings news, tons of Minnesota Vikings discussion, NFL news and updates!!
OK… provide them.
The King wanted to go fishing, and he asked the royal weather forecaster for the forecast for the next few hours. The palace meteorologist assured him that there was no chance of rain.
So the King and the Queen went fishing.
On the way, they met a man with a fishing pole riding on a donkey, and the King asked the man if the fish were biting.
The fisherman said, “Your Majesty, you should return to the palace! In just a short time, I expect a huge rainstorm.”
The King replied, “I hold the palace meteorologist in high regard. He is an educated and experienced professional. Besides, I pay him very high wages. He gave me a very different forecast. I trust him.”
So the King continued on his way. However, in a short time, torrential rain fell from the sky. The King and Queen were totally soaked.
Furious, the King returned to the palace and gave the order to behead the meteorologist. Then he summoned the fisherman and offered him the prestigious position of royal forecaster.
The fisherman said, “Your Majesty, I do not know anything about forecasting. I obtain my information from my donkey. If I see my donkey’s ears drooping, it means with certainty that it will rain.”
So the King hired the donkey.
And thus began the practice of hiring dumb asses to work in influential positions of government…
NEED MOAR LEFT WING POLITICS!
As you wish… get bent over this…
Saw this, and can’t disagree…
“We do not actually have a supreme court, we have a lifelong legislature of lawyers who prefer the robe to the campaign trial.
One-third of the court makes decisions based entirely on what is best for the Democrat party and never wavers from that mission. Only two of the nine justices seem to have any consistent interest in determining a given law’s text and original meaning.
Of the remaining four, the chief justice thinks he’s a thermometer whose job is take to the temperature of the country and then make decisions based on whether they’ll make people like him. The former professor seems to think she’s still writing academic papers. The former Western judge is occasionally reliable when he’s not claiming boys can become girls or fan-girling over Indian treaties. The final justice seems to be saddled with the horrifying task of corralling the two rudderless and emotional basket cases into something resembling coherence.
And if that weren’t horrifying enough, let me comfort you with the observation that this collection of Democrat party operatives, weepy thermometers, wannabe legislators, and only sometimes actual lawyers is actually the least dysfunctional of the three federal branches of government.”
And if the Dims/Woke/Libs/TDS Types get control they will pack the court with even more of them.
Absolutely
I’m not a big fan of Roberts as well as many of the decisions the court has recently made.
However, and perhaps I should have capitalized that, if Congress did their job mantyof these things would never get thrown into the laps of the Judiciary – where it doesn’t belong. What to do about “imigration” is a legislative issue.
It is, but the Dem’s been seeding the Judiciary to get activist judges installed, so they can legislate from the bench. It’s easier than trying to get legislation passed, as you can see, in Congress. Nothing gets done in that body. So simply having a judge wave his hand and create “precedent” that effectively gives you “standing” on an issue moves the needle ever steadily to the left.
Day three of the same thread.

Someone asked for MOAR POLITICS…
I listened to about 2 hours of the SCOTUS hearing this morning on the 14th Amendment and “birth right citizenship”. Fascinating, I learned an awful lot. Don’t know which way the will rule, but I would guess most likely against trump. Did you know that the U.S. and Canada are the only developed, industrialized nations to allow for birth right citizenship? Not that I really give 2 shits what the Europeans are doing….
Yep.
Evidently there are more than 50 Firms in China that move citizens of China to the US just long enough to give birth, get their child US citizenship and go back to China.
The Supreme Court should read this…
The “Not the Bee” claims this is not an April fool’s joke, I have my doubts. If its not – God help us all.

I think this is real, but not sure.
Gutfeld covered this last night.
Pretty hilarious watching the Woke whine and complain and out do each other for ‘most entitled’. Canadians are going to Canadian.
Video is 17m.
It’s real. It’s real comedy. It’s also real tragedy. Let’s hope it stays north of us and doesn’t infect the whole continent.
I found this commentary particularly poignant:
“Marxists believe in a hierarchy of oppression where the most oppressed people are at the top of the food chain.
This used to be sorted based on economic class, but since the Soviet Union collapsed and proved communism is a horrible economic theory, modern commies started sorting people based on skin color, genitals, sexual fetishes, disabilities, and more.”
Going to have to build a wall on that border as well if this insanity keeps up.
i am definitely jealous of all the street cred, NLNVF has been getting lately.
Eh, at some point it becomes “calling you on your shit” and not really street cred, cred implies at least SOME respect.
Here’s about some street debit for you.

NEED MOAR RIGHT WING POLITICS!
You mean rational thought and reasonable perspectives. You’re welcome.
Agreed.
That Woke/Lib/Dim/TDS/Fake News stuff is tearing the country apart.
Well that’s half true.
It’s fully true Edge… the totally irrational left is tearing the country apart, on purpose. Witness the shutdown the of the Department responsible for Homeland Security for no other reason than to oppose Trump’s emphasis on law enforcement. Defund the police, abolish ICE, get rid of prisons. Totally insane stances.
The left wants chaos, hurt, and pain for the citizens. AOC said it plainly… “next time we need to make them suffer more to get our way”. They create all this, so they can come into power, ostensibly to “fix” the very ills they have created. Reasonable, rational people see this clearly. The left is crazy and we need to stop the madness.
Na, we need more LEFT WING POLITICS!
Im down for no wing politics. Call me crazy
How can you fly if you don’t have wings?
You have to drink redbull
Flying’s overrated. Especially these days.
Interestingly, the comments on this particular edition of skoloholics have essentially no political bent whatsoever. Which comment triggered this outburst?
None, just a guy making his voice heard. He doesn’t like the right.
Sounds like McCarthy was second string behind Wentz here…
Starting to think that KOC should be called the QB killer instead of the whisperer.
He already is/was. He got the nickname after he killed the idea of drafting Mayo Levis.
Not sure… McCarthy was always oversold IMO. Sometimes reality hits you hard. It’s a bitter pill to swallow. He was right about Darnold and Daniel Jones. He was wrong about Josh Dobbs, and he is likely accepting he was wrong about McCarthy. The team is correcting course here IMO. They are accepting reality, and making moves to fix the mistake. I don’t think anyone, including a QB whisperer can make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
I think KOC’s ability to “create” a great QB is overstated for sure though.
Question or two.
Don’t know if JJ was oversold, but does JJ have as much talent as Purdy?
If so, Shanahan was able to develop him. Thus, why can’t KOC develop JJ?
My personal take on that is Purdy is head and shoulders above McCarthy across the board. He makes quick decisions with the ball, and has a way more accurate arm. “Talent” is somewhat a subjective take here IMO. McCarthy brings the intangible of attitude to the fore. He’s charismatic. He has the “it” factor. He has presence. None of those have anything to do with running an offense in the NFL.
Or, maybe Shanahan is simply a better coach.
Shanahan is a great coach, but as I’ve said, you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Trey Lance… remember him? Shanahan didn’t make him great. He cut him.
So I guess this means McCarthy didn’t meet with the standard required for the position…
PHYRE KWESI!!
That solved everything.
Blah blah blah
Taking issue with KOC’s comments, or with me posting them?
KOC. Listening to his interviews makes my blood boil. Such coach speak. Ten sentences when it could be said in one or two. Loves his fool-proof system and will drive the team into the ground clutching onto “his system”. He says it’s a proven system, yet every year is up and down record-wise for him, despite the QB injury excuses. Good coaches find ways to win anyway, even if the hoped-for system isn’t working.
I agree that KOC is very evasive and indirect with his speech. He talks around a subject for sure. Also, the scheme thing is an age old argument. The old “X’s and O’s vs Jimmy’s and Joe’s” discussion. The fact is that the Jimmy’s and Joe’s matter just as much as the X’s and O’s. It’s the blend of those two elements that matter. The ability to make the most of what you have makes a great coach.
I forget who Bum Phillips was referring to when he said this, but he was right about the concept.
“He can take his’n and beat your’n, then he can take your’n and beat his’n.”
It’s April fool’s day… so have at it. This morning I told my wife she could have as many cats as she wanted. Hope she knows I was just foolin.
Even though you are retired, I see you’re still living dangerously…
Laughing… cheap thrills…
Not sure why this hasn’t gotten much attention, but 4 astronauts are scheduled to launch for the moon this evening. It’s been 50 years since man has gone to the moon. Just a fly by and back.
https://www.livescience.com/space/live/artemis-ii-launch-tuesday-march-31
Been there, done that…..could be tbe reason.
I was fascinated with the Apollo program when growing up. I remember staying up to watch the Eagle land on the moon
I was glued to the TV.
Anybody under 55 has never witnessed men going to the moon.
This is a first for all of them.
You would think the first Woman and African American to the moon would get the attention of the DEI crowd.
oh yeah. they are “going to go back”……..
They are just going to go around it and come back.
Probably some scientific gain from the trip but not exciting and certainly not much to see.
You young social media, short attention span types just don’t know how amazing this is.
God Speed !
68 is young now days??
Good to know.
The amazing fact for this nerd is that they are flying 250,000 miles away (or a little over 1 light second) on their little sojourn, going around the moon. Based on the models of the solar system we know Jupiter is really big compared to Earth. Yet all of the planets could fit inside the orbit between Earth and our Moon. Just shows how incredibly vast space is, how much empty “space” there is, to realize that a scale model of our solar system would be almost entirely void, with a few tiny planets. That is my “today I learned” moment.
Don’t believe it! The Earth and the universe that revolves around Earth is only 4,000 years old.
Love this…
9 days till the opening round of the Masters BTW
I know what i will be doing for 4 straight days
Same
Definitely a must watch…
The greatest on the greatest stage doing great things.
Doesn’t get any better.
Don’t see any problem with this plan.
“O’Connell said the Vikings plan to make center the permanent position for longtime backup Blake Brandel, making him the early front-runner for the job that was vacated by Ryan Kelly’s retirement.”
He did well with the cluster*ck we had at the position last year.
I am still mocking a decent OC option in the middle of the drafts I do.
Even if he is a backup/injury replacement a rookie OC can develop into the long term answer.
Just saw this yesterday.
Sources: NFL, far apart with NFLRA, to begin hiring replacement refs – ESPN
They’re looking at trans and gays to be a more influential presence in the game.
Not sure ‘replacement refs’ would be much worse than the NFLs regular ones.
Plus ‘The Script’ would still be in play.
I just remember the last time they used replacement Refs, it was ugly.
Every Sunday is ugly with the refs we currently have.
Looks like Murray is the starter…
“What we’re going to attempt to do is put Kyler in an offense that he can be comfortable with… any time Kyler Murray drops back with the ball, defenses have to really think twice about the double teams on Justin Jefferson… with his type of explosive athleticism, if he does get out of that pocket, it can be a huge play that changes the dynamic of the game.”
Shocked/Not Shocked.
More of a shock is KOC adjusting his offense to fit his QBs skills this quickly.
He usually waits for several losses before he is willing to do that.
So I think the adjustment might be more plays that get Kyler outside the pocket. However, running QB’s get hurt in the NFL, and eventually they don’t want to run anymore. Murray is very elusive though, so we’ll see.
Practice squad offense…practice squad would be good for him.
Good Morning? Happy Kirk Tuesday??
Was there a party/thread I wasn’t invited to AGAIN??
Maybe everyone is waiting for a new thread before posting anything significant.
My posts are never ‘significant’ so that is not a concern of mine.
Might as well get a FTPs in while I am at it.
Good morning SoCal… I’m recovering from a bit of a medical issue. My doc prescribed a new diabetes med and it had an adverse affect on me. Nausea, vomiting, stomach pains, and even pain when peeing. Never experienced anything like it from taking a tiny pill. Took the med yesterday morning, and by 10 a.m. I was sick. Spent all day and all night vomiting with just bile coming out. Stomach pains were also bad. Today, I’m better, but still have stomach cramps. Milder though. Tolerable.
Oh Crap!!
What a miserable way to spend a day/night.
After the minor episode I had with Norovirus and the more major event The Teacher had with her Kidney Stone I can certainly empathize.
Glad to hear that you doing more better today.
Thanks… right now I’m taking small bites of a banana and sipping water. Taking it slow.
It never fails – taking small pills and too much sex will do it every time.
Laughing… indeed.
I didn’t know that there was such a thing as ‘too much sex’.
Kind of like ‘Too Much Fun’?
That made me laugh… good one.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48350724/vikings-exercise-fifth-year-option-jordan-addison-deal
Awesome, good decision!
I think so too. Enamored by this kid’s talent. He’s fast, twitchy. Great route runner, good at contested catches considering his size. Knucklehead for sure, but with competent quarterback play the sky is the limit with him imo…..
Hope he grows up fast but seems to be headed the Diva route instead.
Expected…it’s been reported that his extension is already budgeted for (O’Neill’s, too).
Kirko loves this.
He can ask for $25 million and claim he’s a team friendly guy….
I don’t think Cousins is going to play this year unless a starter like Stafford goes down. McVay loves Cousins, as does Kyle Shanahan. Still all the starting jobs are spoken for on the teams Cousins would consider playing for. I think he’ll just do some TV work, and wait till an opportunity pops up.
What if The Douche overplays his hand in Pittsburg??
They were a playoff team last year even if just barely.
Would go try and save the Fat Pucker Coach???
Yeah, I don’t know if Cousins would want to go there. Maybe. McCarthy has a pretty good coaching record.
“Aaron Rodgers will play for the Minnesota Vikings this season.” – Diana Russini
God, I love it out here.
What a night. Haven’t caught anything yet, but it’s a beautiful evening.
What are you fishing for?
Fish??
Enjoyment
There are many species in this lake/river. Nothing biting tonight, but it sure was a pleasant evening.
Compliments
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/48348149/vikings-expect-greenard-team-2026-trade-rumors
Smart of them to not show that they’re desperate to trade him. The Dolphins and Cardinals should probably take note.
Read that he is looking for a contract of about $120M for 3 years.
He is two years younger than Gink who got a 1 year extension.
I don’t think he’ll be traded, he’s coming off a not particularly productive season and culminated in a season ending injury and he wants a new contract, the Vikings aren’t giving him 40 mil a year and nobody else is, in fact he should thank the Vikings for giving him the free agent contract they did when he was coming off a not particularly productive season that ended early due to injury his last year in Houston
Those reasons are also why he isn’t worth what his agent is asking. Dude gets in position to get sacks then whiffs. If they do pay him it better be HEAVILY incentive based.
I don’t think anyone will pay what he wants, he’s good, not elite
Last week I learned that fame is fleeting…I always go down to the cruise highlights after supper to learn about the plan of attack for the next day, and check out whether the evening entertainment will be enjoyable. First couple of nights there were some good acts. I should mention my wife doesn’t understand the appeal of these entertainment sessions so stays in the room, reading out on the balcony or such. Second night was a comedian/ventriloquist and I am always a big laugher, so he brought me up on stage and I helped him with his act. During this whole process he asked me what I do for a living, made some cracks about radiology, good times. Well, after that I was famous, or at least I thought so, as everywhere I went on the ship people were complimenting me, saying I made the show, etc.
Quite a few women in their golden years, I attracted a bit of a fan club at the evening festivities, telling me about their lumbago, asking me if I wanted a drink or banana split, etc. I was really basking in the adoration.
Fifth night an entertainer gets on, has done a bunch of stints on Broadway. Snappily dressed, silver speckled hair down to the base of his neck, rough shaven, deep baritone voice, excellent singer, winking and pointing at all of my harem. Lost about half the first night, second night he was giving out hugs, lost ’em all at that point.
Sigh. My fifteen minutes of fame.
So people trying to get free medical advice give you fame??
That and being about fifteen years less than the median age of the passengers.
Wow, they are old!
That is the way women are, MT, we are just placeholders until something better comes along….
Rec for Truth.
Our plan on Saturday was to board a plane in Charleston at 0527, make a conn through ATL to MSP, and catch the puddle jumper to BIS. We got up at 0230 EST, caught an Uber to the airport (arriving at 0315), and the TSA gates hadn’t yet opened. Even worse the Delta counter didn’t open until 0400. Breeze through TSA precheck, get a notification our flight to BIS will be delayed by 105 minutes. Went to a sky lounge in MSP to grab a bite and lounge as we waited for flight, place was infested with little goblins lacking parental supervision. Kinda ruins your appetite watching the under 10 crowd sampling the food items with their bare hands between picking their nose and scratching their ass.
Blessed to get into Bismarck at 1430, ran to Sammies Club and picked up the dog. I was beat by the time we got everything put away and the dog ran. In bed at 2030 MST, slept until 0700 next day.
I did lay a nice bodycheck on a gal when deplaning at MSP, rude AF.
If I had known you were in Charleston I would have had my daughter stop by and say ‘HI’.
Beautiful city if a little crowded.
Thank goodness I never went to college in such a place. On a tour we drove right by Chas College and there were numerous co-eds out basking in the sun in the park adjacent to the road, wearing skimpy bikinis. At least when I went to the U of A the weather cooperated by not getting warm enough to sunbathe until after finals.
We’re thinking of going to Myrtle Beach next year.
I’ve never been but have a SIL that lives near there. It sounds very nice.
It is #7 on the Happiest Cities in US list.
I love Charleston. Got to stay downtown a couple of years ago for work. I went for work quite awhile ago too but only had one weekend free to explore.
I always liked Charleston chews
Charleston, a beautiful city. Been there for work and vacation. A long and storied history. A cool city to experience.
Did you bodycheck her because she was rude or because she was hot?
When I have to interact with Rude Rubes I just don’t get out of their way as fast as they want. That way when there is ‘bodychecking’ going on they are at fault.
In SoCal you have to learn to deal with them without getting sued.
We were seated in 2C and 2D. Natural order of things is the first row gets off, followed by second, etc…Had a couple of big guys in 2A and 2B that jumped up as soon as the plane parked (could have been O linemen except they were not very muscular) so I stayed seated, as they moved to get off the plane I jumped up and pivoted to grab my bag out of the overhead bin. This gal had “jumped the line” and was trying to squeeze by me, I felt her against my bottom and gave a little extra pivot to knock her into the vacant 2B seat. My wife is saying “watch out there’s someone behind you” and I gave her a little fake “sowwy” and she glared at me without a word. Yeah fuck you.
Good Job.
Good job, those people piss me off.
Let me know the next time you’re in Bismarck and you guys have time, I’ll put something on the smoker and have you guys over. Kiddo and I make an awesome seafood gumbo, too.
Will do. This trip we were wanting to get home right away, I was tired. At least the truck more or less drives itself by following the road stripes.
I get it. My number one goal of travel is efficiency.
I met J a couple times, he seemed like a good dude, old school, strong handshake, RIP
A good influence on a generation of young men in Minn.
RIP indeed.
Yeah, the U forced him out back like ten years ago, a few wrestlers were involved in a prescription drug controversy, he was handling it himself but then someone made an anonymous report to the u administration, he told his team that whoever was involved would have confidentiality if they gave up the pills and confessed, they gave up the pills and confessed but once the AD Coyle found out about it he demanded j name the wrestlers involved, j refused and got fired. You’d think 30 years would buy you a little bit more credibility, but I guess that’s the state of college athletics.
No chance Kirk signs as a backup
Not much of a chance that anyone signs him as a starter, either.
Not likely, maybe if someone gets injured in training camp, otherwise maybe Cleveland but I doubt he’d go there, possibly NO, AZ, or Pittsburgh if Rodgers retires, Las Vegas might be possible if they want to sit the #1 pick his first year, but it’s a lot of maybes at this point
I could see that working out of KC was willing to wait for Stafford to get hurt.
A backup this year, then a starter for the next 2 years (Stafford retires), plus a very good chance at a Super Bowl. Cousins may take that opportunity.
They’re about the same age, not sure why stafford would retire before Kirk, especially considering he’s been healthier than Kirk the last few years
Super Bowl and Kirk Cousins mentioned in the same sentence?
I lol’d as well
Only way Kirk gets a ring at this point is if he happens to be on the bench on a team that gets there. He aint getting there if he’s on the gridiron.
That’s what I meant. He’ll be sitting on the bench for the Rams. A good shot at a SB. I do believe Stafford is almost done and ready to retire, especially, if they make it to another SB. This could be a good opportunity for Cousins.
we lit up our christmas tree this weekend as well!
good times
Flames had to be over 20 feet high, it was cool.
When I first saw the pic I thought it was a new grilling technique.
Sounds about right.
I had a dream last night that he false started.
He talked to a different ref last week.
I don’t get it???
Chicks being Chicks.
Congrats Brad.
Bismarck is rated the 2nd Happiest City in the US. Fargo was also near the top of the list at #5.
https://www.foxnews.com/travel/new-study-reveals-happiest-cities-america-arent-where-youd-expect
Here is the full list, we in Nampa are down at #58, which ironically makes me unhappy.

***This study paid for by the Government of California. Please help us get people back here.
Maybe is is all the joyous residents who escaped Minnesota?
Miurderapolis came in a #34., we got Boise in at #32 at least.
Yeah with all the Commifornia cities it is not very logical list.
‘Figures don’t lie but Liars Figure’.
You have to look at their methodology, which is flawed. It uses 29 measures that correlate with happiness. Things like: if you live in an area with low unemployment, you must be happy. They 29 measures are collected from a variety of sources. They call this “meta-data”,because it is not collected specifically for this study. They then group these 29 measures into 3 groups, this is called factor analysis. The issue is that when you group a variety of meta-data you introduce error. The more you group, the more error that accumulates (error never goes down). Then they dont report error rates.
Wallet Hub = Click Bait
I know, TL:DR
For sure meant for clicks and not science. Not to mention that happiness is subjective.
Yes, it certainly for ‘entertainment purposes’.
So the only two North Dakota cities that qualified for inclusion in the study came in #2 and #5.
This is 100 percent BS, no one in North Dakota is happy…tell all of your friends.
Yup, it sucks here, DON’T MOVE HERE.
We were having dinner after the basketball game the other night. One of the parents mentioned that our states population had gone down, there were three of us that were very happy about that.
Dinner.
Oh, I remember those days! How fun.
We had a really good time, it was a fun trip up to Bottineau. The ice is still 3 feet thick up there. No ice at all here, waiting for kiddo to get out of school so we can go fishing.
Strong wind away from a blizzard today entire town covered in snow every street a mess.
Bottineau doesn’t like to give up winter
I found an old person to sit next to at the end of the table, I know how to avoid the chaos. It was one of the grandparents visiting from Colorado, I talked to her the whole time.
Yeah, those things can get really noisy…smart move to stay by the end of the table.
Really nice family on that end of the table, their kiddo is awesome, great kid to coach, there’s a really awesome group of kids in this group, gonna be good men some day.
Is that the Norway house?
I am thinking NoDaks would be happier in the Summer than they are in the Winter, especially Feb.
‘The Reason Feb is only 28 days long is because no one could stand it any longer than that.’
You’re fake news. I hear that ND is awesome and any Minnesotans thinking about moving to Montana should just stop in Bismarck. No sense in going too far from all their family.
I have been out played. Damnit.
That’s weird, I hate living in town. Soon. Very soon. I might’ve found some land with a shop out in the country.
Within 15 minutes of five different lakes/rivers with good fishing. About 20 miles west of here.
Haha just saw this after I posted, not New Salem.
Between Mandan and New Salem
In Florida???
Boy, I wish. West of Mandan.
We just finished a cruise from Amelia Island (FL) to Charleston. The pollen was unbelievable, fired up allergies I didn’t know I had. Plus they have evil biting gnats.
I used to think Florida was all that…now it is way too crowded.
I hope I live my entire life and never go on a cruise
I can’t imagine being trapped for a week on a boat that I can’t fish from.
Oh I love them. Scenery changes day to day, get some learnin’ on the excursions, someone cooks for you every day, like staying in a hotel that moves.
I should mention we do river cruises. 120 pax tops. The ocean liners are WAY too crowded for me.
Yes, River Cruises are not the same thing as Ocean Liners.
Oh, that’s a different story. We ran into one of those river cruise ships in Red Wing when we were there, it looked like everybody on it was over 100 years old.
We took a 20 minute cruise on a paddle-wheeler around Lake Okoboji, it wasn’t so bad.
The Queen II?
@pansy@
careful there new guy, comments like that can get you banned!
Ironically, when we were driving to and from Bismarck last couple of weeks I thought your old stomping ground (New Salem) would be a good spot for you to settle. 35 miles from Bismarck, close enough to make a big box store run but far enough away that you won’t be competing for land with suburbanites.
We went to southern WI to visit a couple of our kids this past weekend. As we were wandering through the countryside, I mentioned that to my wife that we have to look further away from any of the big cities then what people feel comfortable commuting, otherwise the housing prices skyrocket. As I was pointing out a few places that were not too close to any other houses, she said that where I want to live, we can’t see from the road. She gets me.
Love that!
Pretty insightful comments from Chris Carter.
