Vikings Discussion
Happy thirsty Thorsday, everyone! I hope everyone’s week is going well as we all trudge through this boring NFL off-season anxiously awaiting the Draft. I’m more optimistic heading into this draft than I’ve been in quite some time. We really have no clue what to expect, as the Vikings really don’t have any one glaring positional need. The table is set for Bryz to choose the most talented players who will fit into what KOC is building. Hey, the draft can’t be worse than what we’ve been subjected to over the past several years……..err……..decades.
Vikings & NFL News
Yahoo Sports sheds some light on what led to Kwesi Adofo-Mensah’s dismissal.
He used the word “leader” multiple times during the media session. It wasn’t accidental. Ding Adofo-Mensah for his drafts if you wish, but the primary reason for his dismissal was his inability to meld the personnel staff’s vision with the coaching staff’s preferences. Differences of opinion on specific players and situations furthered an early disconnect.
Vikings.com takes a look at running back prospects for the Vikings in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Sports Illustrated highlights Vikings veterans who could lose their job to rookies in 2026.
Sports Illustrated provides dates, details, and what to know about the NFL schedule release 2026. Only the NFL can turn a schedule release into a meaningless event.
The Texans have exercised the 2027 fifth-year options for quarterback C.J. Stroud and All-Pro defensive end Will Anderson Jr., per ESPN.
Kirk Cousins is looking forward to throwing the ball to Brock Bowers, from NFL.com.
Here’s a quote from the story.
Dating back to his days in Washington, Cousins has excelled with multi-tight end sets and has found production from the position at each stop. In D.C., it was Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis. In Minnesota, Kyle Rudolph, T.J. Hockenson and Irv Smith thrived.
Media Selection
A cartoon I just discovered recently, even though it’s been out for a long time. I’m working my way through all the episodes & spin-offs now. Hilarious! To me, anyway. This is Sassy the Sasquatch, part of The Big Lez show. Enjoy!

- Keep politics to a minimum. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be respectful and civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument, not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW language/pictures to a minimum. We don’t want anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- To summarize, behave like adults. Treat each other with respect, and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something, please do. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.

The Twinkies beat Detroit again today 3-1 to sweep the series. The are now 7-6 and have the 4th best record in the AL, one game behind Cleveland in the Central.
I needed to get all that in because I don’t expect that any of it will last very long. It would be nice to be wrong though but as a Minn fan I know better than to believe that.
DT with our first pick? And the 3rd best IDL in the draft?
He used to be rated the 5th best player in the draft and has been steadily falling ever since.
The Consensus now has him at #27th. Who knows what the Viking Braintrust think of him but Gracen Halton, DT, Oklahoma, 6-2, 292 lbs is a similar player and the Vikings have already met with him also.
We visited the Mighty 8th museum in Savannah (highly recommend). The guide shared a story his father (a tail gunner with the 95th bomb group) told him. Morale was low early in the bombing effort as daytime losses were staggering. To boost morale they gave Purple Hearts to aviators that suffered significant frostbite. Ball turret gunner got so excited exchanging fire with an Me-109 that he pissed himself. Keep in mind the hatch to get out of the ball is underneath you when you are curled up in the fetal position manning the turret. His uniform and dependent parts froze to the perspex and metal hatch at their ambient temp of -50 degrees. When they returned to England, his crew could not free the hatch to let him out so the plane landed. Took three hours by the ambulance and ground crews to thaw it out to the point he could be removed.
By that time in the war, they had developed effective ways to treat frostbite. He was convalescing in the hospital (prone) and sees out of the corner of his eye a colonel making his way down the ward. Stops in front of the airman and the patient blurts out, “Sir! Just keep moving on! There is no way I am accepting that award, as I am never going to tell my family and friends how I got it!”
I have enjoyed the return of scrubs
I love Scrubs. Have seen every episode at least four or five times.
How’s the new season? Any good? Like the first go-around?
It’s decent, far better than that bastardization called scrubs med school
ah good, that was my fear
I watched the original when I could.
Working the evening shift at the prison didn’t leave many opportunities for TV gazing.
I might have to look in YouTubeTV to see if they have the series available.
I agree, they kept it as good as the originals.
Hmmm…
Gotta be better than what KAM had working.
His first draft was epically bad. Just awful. Trading with two division rivals and passing up real legit talent. Obviously Kyle Hamilton, but they also could’ve had Jordan Davis (who’s also turning into a pretty good player) either one would’ve been better than giving two burner WR’s to division rivals and then drafting all busts (and Nailor doesn’t count)
It’s as if KAM watched ‘Moneyball’ (great movie) the night before the draft and thought ‘I’m definitely the Black Brad Pitt and can totally pull this off….’
Novel concept in targeting guys that produced on a field in live, competitive situations instead of targeting bargain bin guys who are talented but tainted due to some injury history or other less-than-desirable issue.
Also passed on George Pickens, Cam Jurgens and Nik Bonnito to name a few…..
Sometimes drafting traits based players works out, like Danielle Hunter, but most of the time it doesn’t, like a number of KAM picks. KAM also drafted some highly productive college players like Cine and Booth who ended up as total busts, they had good measurable too. When your best pick as GM in 4 drafts is a kicker it’s not a good sign. No matter which way KAM went he just mostly sucked.
Either way they should target the players that don’t suck moving forward.
I can see including ‘production’ into the calculation. But given the different programs and their strengths it can’t be the ‘end all and be all’. Maybe moving it up on their evaluation priority list.
Is a prospect that has all the tools but in a weak program worst than a ‘one trick pony’ that has a strong program around him to help with production?? IE a RB with a great line and a HC that emphases the run but can’t catch or block??
Novel concept.
seriously
Insane liberals saying everything is racist these days, even milk… how can we allow people this ridiculous to be in Government?
So Cows are racist since ‘white milk’ is what comes out of them??
Cows are white supremacists…
Breast milk is white supremacy since it’s white
Just kill me now
Bummer.
Was really hoping that white milk would make racism a distant mammary.
Guess tits not to be…..
What do I know, I’m just a boob.
Well done!
‘I’m just a boob’
Does that mean you are providing white milk??
Episode #3876 of “dogs are dumb”
I do a training session for about twenty minutes every evening after supper with my choco. Things like hunting up a bird dummy, following hand signals, fetch/drop, basic stuff like sit/rollover/crawl/shake, etc…after that his reward is about ten minutes of cardio wrestling a chew toy where I myself get winded trying to flip him over, grab his legs, etc. When we’re done that’s his signal to drink a bowl of water.
Put him out for his evening pee at bedtime. “bark bark bark” he’s over on the north edge gazing at the ridge, I’m sure there are some deer up there. Four minutes later “hey dumbass quit barking or I’m leaving you out here” – ten seconds of silence “bark bark bark” put on my shoes mean voice “quiet and go pee”. Muted “bark bark…quiet…bark bark”. Check on him two minutes later he’s at the door.
Wakes me up at 5 am, has to go pee badly.
I think the choco forgot to pee he was so concentrated on saving the compound from deer destruction.
My mini-pin found a muskrat at 5:00 am. Had to pick him up and carry him away or there would have been blood everywhere(again). damned dog does exactly what he is bred for. Great watch dog that barks at everything, and kills any critters that get into our yard.
Stupid muskrat was stuck in our chain link fence just like winnie the pooh and the honey tree
José María Olazábal is 60 years old, and is 2 under par after 12 holes at the Masters. He’s one shot off the the lead. Amazing round.
It won’t be enough.
He will fade fast and won’t make the cut, sorry to say.
Age is a killer.
Went bogey, double, bogey on 14, 15, 16 to fall to 2 over.
Definitely right about father time. Pretty incredible he got through Amen Corner at 2 under though.
I think this one applies around here.
I haven’t had steel toes since working summer jobs and a factory job right out of college (making ends meet, you know), but the rest applies.
Steel toes were recommended when working at the prison. Especially when supervising inmates in the kitchen or around construction or maintenance areas.
Officially crazy…
Yeah, glad we didn’t make Canada the 51st State.
I truly don’t know why anyone gives a shit. Like, really. That acronym was adopted in 2021 to highlight efforts to prevent violence against indigenous women and the 2SLGBTQ+ community. I don’t think it’s okay to hurt people because of their ethnic origin or sexuality. Don’t know who Mannarino is but he sounds like a real fucktard.
Was chatting with my mother last night and she mentioned that my sister brought our first cousin and her wife by the nursing home to visit. My cousin is an esteemed PhD and was speaking at a conference in Banff; she and her spouse have been married longer than my wife and I. After I got off the phone, I chuckled and said to my wife that back in my college days if I had breathed a word about my cousin preferring girls (she is two years older than I) I would have been berated soundly for discussing such a scandalous thing, but now here you have mom saying “it was so nice they came to visit (you cocksucker you haven’t visited in nine months – under her breath probably)”.
I vividly recall another cousin (happens to be her brother) who has never been in a long term relationship or really any relationship with a woman, always hung out with guys, and saying to my dad that I suspected he was gay. I might as well have told him he enjoyed fondling newborn babies for the reaction that got from dad. For context, I would say that cousin was the son my dad never had, naturally excelled at sports, was on the practice squad for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, etc…
My daughter gave an immunology presentation at a conference in Banff two weeks ago. Same conference?
Immunology?
Did she tell them to wear a mask, get poked, and 2 weeks to flatten the curve? That’s all there is to immunology right?
Doubt it.
My daughter is studying cancer immunology.
But she would likely agree with that take.
Hoping you caught the sarcasm font on my previous post.
In all seriousness though, if she’s in cancer immunology she’s on the front lines of one of the greatest needs in our world. When I say I hope your daughter changes the world, I truly mean it.
Yeah i saw it as sarcasm.
And thank you. She is pretty motivated.
She’s about halfway through her PhD.
One and the same. Small world.
Where is your cousin from?
City and or University/Company if you can give that out.
My daughter is at MSK in NYC.
University of Toronto.
Congrats on the smart daughter.
Thank you.
I personally don’t give a shit what people do in their personal lives or what their acronym is. However I don’t like it being forced down my throat like its what 99% of the population is like and that if I still call a man a man, and a woman a woman and not what they “identify” with, I shouldn’t be considered a bigot. I personally don’t like that the gay community is wrapped up in all of this other shit which as far as Im concerned is mental illness. Yo also aren’t special for being part of that community. People will think what they think and say what they say and they are allowed to do that. I have never witnessed actual hate or violence against anyone in that community, not saying it doesn’t happen but its over blown because they consider someone not calling them “ZemZer” to be an act of hate.
You can label something in order to appear sympathetic, without really doing anything. Some people are really good at that. It is easier to label, and appear sympathetic, rather than take a meaningful action
@you should move her to live with you, highly recommended@
Oh what fun!
I hate the emphasis on this. It’s ridiculous. Insane really. STFU already about your effing sexual preference and mental illnesses. Seriously.
I do not give a shit if a sane adult male wants to sleep with a sane adult male…dido for females. But trannies are crazy and need help.
Apparently you also have to have text here, not just a picture.
Why are Girls included in all of that??
It doesn’t say Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. There is a comma there that makes Girls its own category just like Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and the like.
So if Girls are included are Boys next???
No idea, and I’d think there are many girls who don’t want to be in that group. Also, murdered? WTF do dead people need to be included for?
Well obviously ‘Murdered Women’ need our support but only Indigenous ones. Certainly not women murdered by Illegal Aliens.
A few early risers. Good morning all, and rec for FTP

I’m spoiled…
What time should i be over?

Since you’re having pork chops, I call dibs on your steaks

Hope Kyler Murray has a great year!
I hope all of our quarterbacks have a great year, especially during games. I expect we will see more than one (or two) before the season is over…
I think all three play this year.
Not because someone gets benched, but because they will each go through some injuries eventually.
Especially Fragile McPonder.
Still rooting for him though
As long as I don’t have to watch Brosmer again, that was painful
Hey if he has a great year…
He was in a tough situation, started due to QB injuries, little (if any) time practicing with the 1st team Offense.
He performed like a first year UDFA.
