Vikings Discussion & Random Thoughts

Tomorrow is the draft. Finally all the mock drafts and player rankings will end, though the idiot pundits will complain that this player was drafted too high and is a “reach” and this player was drafted too low and is a “steal”. The idiot fans will say the same thing based on their “internet research” of various big boards. Nobody really knows how NFL teams have players ranked so its really pointless.

Night guys. Tomorrow evening we can discuss the draft. It starts at 8 p.m. At 10 minutes per selection, plus 3 minutes of after selection celebrations, our pick won’t be till after 11 p.m.

It went for 71 yards, and yes, the Vikings lost 31 to 30 to the Titans. Jefferson had 7 catches for 175 yards.

His catch though put the Vikings up 24-12 at that point in the game.

Well, that’s a bit of a stretch. Cousins hit Kyle Rudolph for a one-handed, toe-tapping grab in the back of the end zone for a 30-25 lead with 10:17 left (his 3rd TD pass of the game) but the depleted Vikings defense didn’t do enough to hold it. Tannehill and Henry helped move the Titans just close enough for Gostkowski, whose three second-half makes were all from 50-plus yards.

Yes, the Vikings had one last chance at the end of the game, but the Titans defense really toughened up. Cousins had to chuck up a desperation ball on 4th and 24, that was picked off. That’s not choking IMO, it was a defense beating our O-line over and over and preventing our offense from getting into field goal range as time expired. The offense took the lead in the 4th quarter. The defense couldn’t defend that lead, and then the offense just couldn’t execute that last drive to win it.

The modern Democratic machine operates from a core psychological defect:

narcissistic moral entitlement fused with authoritarian control needs.

They have convinced themselves and their followers that their vision of the future is so morally pristine that any violation of norms, laws, or democratic guardrails is not corruption…it’s prophylaxis.

Rig the election? Necessary.

Censor dissent? Public health.

Prosecute political opponents while shielding your own? Rule of law.

The ends don’t just justify the means; the means dissolve the moment they inconvenience the anointed.

Not wrong to a certain degree but also sounds in the same regard very much like the Republican Party. Aren’t they the ones trying to force their moral agenda of their specifc religion in schools (literal indoctrination), passing laws of their morality concerning sexual orientation, they also have a very strong history of wanting censorship of many things as well, laws of corruption like not wanting actual campaign finance transparency (at least in SD when the populace voted in such a law the Republican Gov with the support of all the Republican legislators enacted a state of emergency so they could repeal the law), Republicans have ABSOLUTELY not been above going after political opponents while shielding their own…

At the same time, every time I go home now, I have to fight with my mom a bit as she has been completely taken over by her algorithm that the Trump administration has never done anything good ever and she never sees one bad story about Dems… sounds like many around here in reverse.

Which party is the party who fought tooth and nail to oppose gay marriage?

“Gender Affirming Care” I really struggle with. Every fiber of my brain hates it but then my libertarian thoughts creep in lol. From my own moral stance I hate it so much… but this is a free country and parents do have rights over their consenting to what their kids can and can’t do…? Like is this one of those things where the lines of freedom being strong and unbroken is more important that a terrible, terrible decision a parent lets a kid make? I don’t know. Like I am totally open on this one to be swayed either way with good arguments.

Oh, so you are going back to the 80s and 90s when most democrats opposed gay marriage as well.
That ship has sailed, and the republicans aren’t trying to undo gay marriage.

Now your point about religion in the schools is relevant. Getting the 10 commandments in schools doesn’t seem to me like good policies, but neither does not allowing the teacher to have a bible at his/her desk or to pray in school by themselves.

Edgecrusher71

This doesn’t upset me, I don’t like Dems either. Did you forget? The point is both sides suck.

Unless something has changed I believe there was a Supreme Court case on personal religious things in schools is fine. A teacher can have a bible, can have a cross necklace etc… Which I totally agree with. But pushing it onto kids is a whole other story. There’s a line you can cross with pushing your religion and having a religion. Ya know?

Agree, but the line gets blurry sometimes. I know there have been coaches fired in the last few years for leading prayer at the 50 yard line after a game.

I get that law, I don’t like it but I get it. When I was in high school and when I coached football a coach would always have a player lead prayer. It’s an easy work around, very easy. Would you have issue with before every game and the coach had everyone bow and pray to Allah or Satan? I know that sounds ridiculous but I bet you wouldn’t have liked it.

Edgecrusher71

My point is there is a strong history of these things that neither side is above. That IS the point. Right now the left is the side pushing for more censorship shit but not that long ago it’s the right. It will be the right again, the problem is neither side stands on actual principals. The reason this happens is people do what you are doing and make excuses for their side when their side is the culprit. It’s the same with Dems that were screaming against censorship in the past that are now OK with it, stand on some damn principles and call your side out when they cross those lines of principals.

I still don’t think there needs to be laws about that. Those bodies running those sports need to sack up (pun intended). I wish they’d just say girls can play whatever sport they want, no competitive advantage. But no, boys don’t get to play girls sports. I agree with the notion totally. But I hesitate with there needing to be laws on this.

So this “I know you are but what am I” argument falls apart when you actually examine the facts.

Documented ballot harvesting operations in key urban centers, Big Tech suppression coordinated with federal agencies, selective enforcement of campaign finance laws that magically never touch the right people, and lawfare campaigns timed to kneecap candidates…these are not conspiracy theories.

They are observable, repeatable patterns of power maintenance by a party that views the Constitution as an obstacle rather than a covenant.

Activist judges that legislate from the bench, undermine the rule of law, and allow criminals to run free on our streets.

There is so much political corruption on the left being exposed now that’s sickening. Hundreds of billions of tax payer dollars money laundered through NGO’s to fuel the Democrat political pursuits. With politicians working overtime to ensure the fraud and money keeps flowing.

I see reality being presented to the Nation now. Not the “it works the same way on the right” commentary you just pushed out.

I want law and order, I want secure borders, I want fraud exposed and people going to jail for it, I want our elections secured, I want our enemies vanquished. I want the Nation to be safer, more secure, and more prosperous. I want the insane woke ideology quashed for good and all. The left doesn’t pursue any of those things. They want the chaos they purposely create and fund, to rein so they can promote themselves as the saviors coming to the rescue. As I said, they are both arsonist and fireman. Burn the country down, so they can take power.

Correct in a lot of this BUT the RIGHT IS NOT ABOVE THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR.

Views the Constitution as an obstacle rather than a covenant… I’m guessing it’s only covenant when it’s something you agree with or does that apply to actions you might agree with from a personal perspective but still violate the constitution?

Based on court rulings, legal challenges, and analyses by constitutional scholars, several actions and statements by Donald Trump have been identified as violating or threatening to violate the U.S. Constitution. These actions have spanned his first term and the beginning of his second term (as of April 2026), with many resulting in federal lawsuits or blocked executive orders. Congressman Steve Cohen (.gov)
 +3
Here is a list of actions and statements that have been cited as unconstitutional:
1. Separation of Powers Violations

  • Impoundment of Funds: Freezing federal funding and foreign aid that was authorized by Congress, which violated the Constitution’s separation of powers and Congress’s “power of the purse”.
  • Challenging Subpoenas (Mazars/Vance): Arguing that sitting presidents are immune from state criminal subpoenas and that Congress lacks authority to investigate the President, which were rejected by the Supreme Court as undermining the separation of powers.
  • Retaliation Against Law Firms: Issuing executive orders (EOs) to target and retaliate against law firms representing opposing political interests, which federal judges found violated the First and Fifth Amendments.
  • Threatening Judiciary: Threatening to remove or impeach federal judges who issued rulings against his administration’s policies.
  • Dismantling Agency Independence: Attempting to remove leaders of independent agency boards (e.g., NLRB, FEC) without “cause” to centralize power. Center for American Progress
  •  +7

2. Violations of the First Amendment

  • Retaliation against Private Entities: Directing the federal government to terminate contracts or revoke security clearances for organizations and individuals deemed disloyal or critical of his administration.
  • Targeting Protestors: Deploying federal law enforcement, sometimes unmarked, to arrest peaceful protestors, infringing upon First Amendment rights to assembly.
  • Press Restrictions: Attempting to ban press credentials for media outlets deemed critical of his administration. American Civil Liberties Union
  •  +2

3. Violations of the 14th Amendment and Citizenship

  • Ending Birthright Citizenship: Issuing executive orders attempting to end birthright citizenship for children of non-citizens, which is widely considered a direct violation of the 14th Amendment.
  • Mass Deportations without Due Process: Implementing policies to deport individuals, including lawful residents, without proper legal proceedings. Congressman Steve Cohen (.gov)
  •  +3

4. Violations of the Fourth Amendment

  • Unauthorized Data Seizure: Ordering “DOGE” (Department of Government Efficiency) agents to seize sensitive financial and medical information from federal agencies (IRS, HHS) without search warrants or probable cause. People’s World

5. Statements Regarding the Constitution

  • Calling for the Termination of the Constitution: Posting on Truth Social that “MASSIVE & WIDESPREAD FRAUD” in the 2020 election “allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution”.
  • Running for a Third Term: Suggesting he could run for a third term, which is prohibited by the 22nd Amendment.
  • Questioning Oath to Constitution: Responding to a question about his duty to uphold the Constitution with “I don’t know”. Center for American Progress
  •  +3

6. Emoluments Clause Issues

  • Foreign/Domestic Payments: Maintaining ownership of his business while in office, leading to situations where his properties received payments from foreign governments and state-owned companies, raising issues with the Foreign and Domestic Emoluments Clauses.

I’m guessing next will come a bunch of excuses why this isn’t covenant for Donald H Christ.

AI isn’t infallible, and there is no as hominem in my commentary. Ad hominem refers to a fallacy where an argument is rebutted by attacking the character or attributes of the person making it, rather than addressing the argument itself. I didn’t do that.

Well duuuhhhh, AI Is very fallible. But the definition of Ad Hominem: An informal fallacy where the speaker’s personal attributes—such as intelligence, character, or reputation—are attacked to divert attention from the substance of their argument.

So you were attacking more of your opinion of the source and it’s reputation rather than the information itself. It’s why I included more of a genetic fallacy but it’s a little ad hominem-ish in that regard.

You’re wasting your breath man. NLNVF is never wrong, war with Iran is good, WW3 with Nukes is good, Kirk Cousins is the greatest QB to over breathe air, and the only restaurant we need in our lives is Cracker Barrel and the only pictures we need on the walls of our schools are pictures of Donald Trump, Jesus and a picture of BBQ Ribs.

LOL. Most of these talking points from AI are BS. A lot of “questioning”, “calling”, “threatening”, “suggesting” terms, which are not actual crimes or violations of the constitution. At best, “thought crimes”, which many don’t have actual footing to begin with – several of these things aren’t actually violations, regardless if they have been committed or not.

Try posing the same prompt about Joe Biden and the leftist AI will probably say he never even thought about violating the constitution in his whole life.

Sure, I understand that. I did that as well when I voted last year. However, I don’t go on a Football form and constantly post about “how great” this politician or president is and verbally glaze them any chance I get and treat the form like my own personal blog. The real issue is there shouldn’t be lesser of Evil, and blindly supporting one side, whatever it may be is bad, and has been a problem since before my parents were born.

You need to realize you are the exact same as those you’re ranting about…you just have different talking points.

Not at all. I point out reality. The left shouts out the “existential threat to democracy” line at the top of their lungs, while they actually ARE the threat to democracy. They are supporting Marxist ideals, supporting terrorist nations, actively censoring voices that disagree, and conducting lawfare to destroy their opponents. The right isn’t rigging elections. They want elections to be carefully managed to ensure they aren’t rigged. The left screams that’s voter suppression. The left pushes their fight against racism, while they actually plan, organize, and fund bogus white supremacist events to fuel racial division. They are both fireman and arsonist in this regard. As I said, they insist they are morally superior, while conducting themselves in the most insidious and seditious manner imaginable.

The right isn’t rigging elections? Hahaha, pfffftttttt, hahahahaha, pfffftttttt, hahahahaha, pfffffffft… Did you see what Texas was doing with gerrymandering?

How is this not rigging by both? Are you shitting me? You just showed that you can’t look at this subject without extreme bias and with no actual logic because party lines/identity rules your thoughts.

Both major parties engage in gerrymandering, but analyses suggest Republicans have historically utilized it more extensively and efficiently to gain a national advantage. While Republicans secured significant advantages in states like Texas and Florida, Democrats have recently pursued aggressive counter-gerrymandering in states like Illinois, New York, and Virginia to offset the GOP advantage.
Key Findings on Gerrymandering:

  • Republican Advantage: Following the 2010 Census (REDMAP project), Republicans used sophisticated software to create more efficient maps, translating state-level wins into consistent U.S. House majorities.
  • Geographic Factors: Republicans often benefit more from the geographical distribution of voters, as Democratic voters tend to be highly concentrated in urban areas, making it easier to “pack” them into fewer districts.
  • 2022 Midterm Impact: Although both parties gerrymander, studies show Republican-led maps in states like Texas, Florida, and Ohio created a national-level advantage, though some, such as analyses on PMC, suggest that state-level gerrymandering by both sides mostly cancels out, leaving a smaller net GOP gain than commonly thought.

So the left has been gerrymandering for decades, long before Texas stepped up legally to change their states districts, and NOW you claim both sides do it? Laughable. Did you see what just happened last night in Virginia? Yeah… I think this argument is total weak sauce at this point. California is doing the same thing.

The election fraud and all the financial fraud the Dem’s have conducted over the years is coming out. More and more Americans are seeing it. Now the left is actually trying to pass laws to stop independent journalists from exposing the fraud. How can you accept that? How can you turn a blind eye to the corruption? The fraud? The Marist march to the destruction of our Nation?

The only thing accepting left wing talking points gets you is a false sense of superiority.

The left’s ideology is a complete lie.
The right’s ideology is more pragmatic to individuals, but the Pols still line their pockets and don’t give a rip anyway.

From strong (Darrisaw, O’Neill) to good (Jackson, Fries) to barely adequate (Brandel). IMHO of course.
Depth is as important as the starters and I am less sure about that.

We have Josh Metellus, Jay Ward, and Theo Jackson.
A Rd 1 Rookie Safety might be able to work his way into the starting lineup eventually. But Day 1? Color me skeptical.

I think a DT/NT starting early is more likely.

But I have been able to get high quality, athletic defense and trench guys all thru the draft, TEs also.
I would look for a developmental TE for later and if the board fell so that didn’t happen it wouldn’t be a tragedy. D and Big Uglies are more important-er.
