That’s interesting coming off of two days where I heard nothing but JJ was better than Kyler. So JJ does better, Kyler misses even more throws and reads and fumbles more, but that’s how he solidified the job? They’re all just guessing and trying to cover their previous guesses. Worst case they are wrong and nobody gives a rip.

Yup and then they changed the law afterwards so that coaches could help out players with small things like food and the like.

Per Google
‘The Teddy Bridgewater Act’ is a Florida law signed by Governor Ron DeSantis on May 22, 2026. It allows public K-12 head coaches to spend up to $15,000 a year of their own money to help players with basic needs like food, travel, and medical rehab’

It’s clear the WNBA wants Clark and Cunningham to quit.

Autumn Begins In Martin’s Ferry, Ohio….

‘…In the Shreve High football stadium,
I think of Polacks nursing long beers in Tiltonsville,
And gray faces of Negroes in the blast furnace at Benwood,
And the ruptured night watchman of Wheeling Steel,
Dreaming of heroes.

All the proud fathers are ashamed to go home,
Their women cluck like starved pullets,
Dying for love.

Therefore,
Their sons grow suicidally beautiful
At the beginning of October,
And gallop terribly against each other’s bodies…..’

And he says that if they ‘discriminate’ and don’t let him in he will sue them.

That’s the conundrum for them. They include biological men in the W if the men “are women by their lived experience.” That’s a subjective definition, so now they have put themselves in a position to either judge something subjective based on their own subjective opinion (whether the person is lying about identifying as trans) or have to redefine inclusion in the league according to biological fact.

They apparently are going to discuss how to do that. Lol

I’m guessing no team drafts them.
The league probably comes up with “being in translation therapy”…. or something to qualify as a woman.

Defining a woman is hard in 2026 for some.

The problem is the rules don’t say that now, that is the rules they have declared their eligibility under and to not allow them into the draft would be discrimination. If the league discusses it as a whole and says they won’t draft them, that is text book conspiracy. There is no way the WNBA wins this fight. They will either let big bearded NBA players play and show what a joke the league is or discriminate against what they claim to support and get sued into oblivion. Good thing the WNBA makes something like negative $200 million per year to cover those legal fees. The NBA salaries are going to drop to keep the WNBA alive.

All of the “experts” said that the best case scenario, during the 2024 draft, for a new QB was the Vikings. I think they were way off, I assume they were saying that due to JJetts and Addison being the receivers, but our Oline has been atrocious for years.

It doesn’t matter how good your receivers are, if you have D-linemen in your lap the second the ball is snapped.

Bo Nix is decent, JJ (QB) may very well turn as good or better.

The Vikings could have screwed up with Bo just as much as they did with McFragile.
In fact the only thing Bo has done is stay on the field more, not an Iron Man but compared to JJ (QB) so far he might be considered one.
I thought we should have stayed at Pick 11 and taken which ever one was still there. Once Penix was gone, one of the two would have been there and we would have saved some picks.

I’ve tried posting over there for a few years now that I’m not playing, and responding to the emails, and I keep getting emails to prepare for the new season, then I get autodrafted, then my team gets creamed all season long because I’m not playing.

Side note, my son got nailed by a ground nest of yellow jackets today while mowing the lawn. It’s too warm to keep them in the nest so I can do my usual 2:00am extermination. How much $$ do I need for an effective suit? I see them available for $50 on up.

3rd nest of them this year too close for comfort.

MT Viking
Reply to  Northwoods
7 August 2026 10:30 am

If it’s a one time thing you can probably get away with a cheap suit. If you are using them on the regular you get what you pay for. I have two hats with veils that cost $60 apiece (for those days when you feel like taking some chances but not going crazy, and for onlookers), and a jacket and veil combo that was $165.

I feel like for dispatching yellow jackets on occasion you could get away with a veil, layered work shirts, leather work gloves and maybe work jeans over sweatpants, with the legs tucked into socks with combat or cowboy boots.

Honeybees are obviously a lot more friendly to work with, unless they aren’t, but as a novice I’m learning the smell, sound, and visual signs that they are annoyed. Some days I walk up bare chested wearing my thin workout pants, take a look, and open up the hive without smoke, other times it’s a big nope and I tuck the pants in my socks, and put on the veil and jacket, and then proceed to smoke ’em. BTW wasps do not respond to smoke anywhere near as well as honeybees.

I have yet to wear gloves with the bees. I’ve been stung a total of four times this year, guess what, three times on the hands.

Northwoods
Reply to  MT Viking
7 August 2026 11:12 am

Thank you. I’ll keep my eyes open for a suit.

Temps only getting down to 60 lately, so they’re active all night long. This morning I shot some expanding foam wasp/hornet killer down the hole, and stood by with my mosquito fogger for the returning foragers. I had to use the fogger to get insecticide inside my soffits and siding to eradicate the other 2 nests – it’s slower, but still effective.

After about 20 minutes there was nothing coming out of the hole any more, and the number of foragers returning had dwindled.

I’ve tried 2 recipes for a bait that they’re supposed to take back to the colony and kill everything, but neither has attracted a single wasp.

Jacoby Brissett, but he is not playing tonight. Some obscure rookie gets the start.
Comical how they handled the QB situation this year. Very Vikings-like.
Dump Midget, so Brissett knows he is the starter but his pay is shit. So he holds out until he gets paid.

Much like the Vikings letting Sam walk, then acting shocked when Jones goes to Indy.

I would say that the rookie starting for the Cardinals tonight is a bit away from “obscure”. He played something like 20 years of college football and was pretty darn successful.

Well, he is obscure to me since I rarely watch college football, and while I did watch the playoffs a bit last year, I still have no clue who that guy is. I do know he was taken in the third round of the draft.

Maybe I will watch the first few series…

I totally forgot about Jones!

I wonder if Brissett will get overpaid.

Worst QB moment for the Vikings (IMO) was March 2018 when Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater, and Case Keenum all left and the team handed Kurt Cousins 84 million dollars. (sigh)

He got a one year deal with $15 million guaranteed.
Kirko still got $20 million guaranteed with the Gayders.

Might/could be on to something there.

Olave and Flowers both signed big deals in recent days. While a knucklehead and not near the production of either of those two, I personally believe Addison is more talented than both. His displays of dumbassery and our recent quagmire at QB are both major factors in that lack of production, but still think he’s a better player than both.

4 years for $100 million sounds about right. But I’m not a GM and I don’t play one on tv.

The team still has Van Ginkel, right? Are we going to have two ball-hawk LBs on the field at the same time? That could be a lot of fun.

According to various X sources, a fan yelled something mean at JJM at practice yesterday. People are upset. I haven’t seen exactly what mean thing was yelled, though.

I fear this incident will be a gateway to bigger issues. Next thing you know, fans are going to make mean signs to bring to games…

I am reminded of that crazed fan in the movie The Perfect Game, who yells at Costner, “I HOPE YOU DIE!”

From what I gathered, the fan yelled, “We hate you, JJ!” And folks like KOC and Jefferson got mad about it, too.

Man, Kobe Bryant would have laughed at the guy and then went out and purposely scored the Lakers’ next 20 points. Kobe made a whole commercial about trolling hecklers. He loved shutting them up.

LOL.

If they are butthurt over that (JJ, KOC, and Jets) they should never play in Philly or NY.

If I were there I would have yelled “JJ, Suck Less please”

Man, play better or go away. And I am still sad I got that damned shirt.
