Minnesota Vikings Discussion: Skoloholics – 10/8/2026

Viking-Saints

Happy Thorsday, one more work day for those of us working the 9-5. This week our beloved Vikings face off against the Aints. Vikings signed OBJ, which seemed odd until the injury report came out and Jordan Addison DNP due to a hamstring. JJettas was a limited practice designation, hopefully he will be ready to roll on Sunday.

Weekly reminder: don’t forget to get your picks in before tonight’s game, where the cowgirls travel to the Tampa Bay area to face the Bakerless Buccaneers.

Cowgirls down 11 and just fumbled the ball back to Tampa 1/2 thru the the 3rd.
They just might gift the Bucs their first win of the year.

31-10 now half way thru the 4th.
I have to think of something to say text to my son (Dallas Fan, I blame my ex) after game to make it sound like I am sad that the Cowgirls lost.

After further revenue they ruled the runner down at the one. Back to 24-10 Jerry’s Kids Ball.

Bought some groceries at Costco the other week, saw they had pre made chicken Schnitzel that you can make in the air fryer, comes with a mushroom gravy as well figured it would be a good lazy meal. Made that with homemade red cabbage with onions, apples from my tree, and fried some spätzle and washed it down with an Oktoberfest. HIGHLY recommend.

Rec for correct spelling of Spätzle. Our base in Deutschland was surrounded by Spargel fields (that we played hide and seek in much to the wrath of the Deutsch civvies) and Spätzle mit Spargel was a typical springtime dish in our home.

Im 80% German so I know my heritage. It’s mostly German from Russia but still originates in Germany, closer to the Austrian boarder. I did have to look up what Spargel was, did not know asparagus were involved in traditional German cooking! Today I learned. Sounds fresh and tasty.

I read this on the interweb….I agree with the conclusion

In a recent episode of ‘NFL on NBC’, former Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon shared his thoughts on the quarterback and said:

“It’s just not a good fit. Yes. Kyler Murray does not play on time. Yes. This offense is built on playing on time, hitting guys in stride with the football, and we saw it once ’cause we made the comment, it’s like he’s dropping back 30 yards like we’re playing Tecmo Bowl. You know, dropping all the way back to the end zone and looking for the open man. I don’t… I’ve always felt like Kyler Murray, because of his size, I thought he had a unique skill to slide himself into throwing windows to allow him to be able to see it. For whatever reason, he’s just not trusting what’s going on in the pocket, and that’s just his style of play now, and I just don’t know that it fits in what KC wants to do.”

Does seem like a strange fit. And that’s probably why when Wentz plays he simply “looks” like a better fit for this type of of offense.

I think many of us have been saying this from the beginning.

That’s why it was nice to see KOC deviate from his normal offensive scheme in the 4th quarter this last week. He needs to continue to tailor things to his personnel.

I don’t have a lot of confidence in KOC to do so. He’s shown the stubbornness of sticking with his system in the past, so I fully expect him to revert back to it for this coming Sunday, but hopefully he learns quicker.

He was moving around a bit more on those last 2 drives against the Phins – maybe KOC had an epiphany…..

I know they game scheme for the team they are playing, but I would think the Midge would have to scramble in practice against our D which should make him really ready for any Sunday.? I just don’t get it!

All offseason I said “The Vikings QBOTF is not on the roster”. That is still the case. Did you miss the memo? Anyone who thought McFragile™ was the QBOTF was smoking the good stuff, you could at least pass it around.

Mcsucks is gone, Murray is not the future, that big ginger is an ok backup. They’re going to have to draft or trade for someone

Probably not, more likely he thinks “we could throw Helen Keller out there at QB and the rubes will keep paying for seats. Look how much they love their Somali immigrants, fraudulent governor, and illegal aliens, fuck they would probably welcome a pedo at QB with open arms and backsides.”

Right. It’s surprising to me actually that the H2D is $1,750. It even has laser cutting and drawing capabilities along with a dual nozzle for multicolor printing. I would have thought all of that would be much higher.

As an old man I have no idea why anybody would want a 3-d printer.

What do you use it for?
Are you trying to print a clone of yourself?

It goes from idea to printed and in your hand within a few hours.

It’s great for printing plastic parts that break from anything around the house or office.

It’s also fun to print fun things for the kids and puzzle boxes for gifts for adults.

Fun little hobby thing with useful household applications as well.

As a kid, much like adulthood, I was a little weirdo and liked to assemble models, you know with the tubes of cement, decals, paint, the whole nine yards. Was a definite easy gift idea for me. Had all sorts of shades of paint, multiple little brushes, air brush setup, etc. Models all over my room, especially planes.

My grandson showed me pictures of a six foot B-17 model he assembled. I was flabbergasted with the detail. How long did it take you to put that together and paint it…oh the 3D printer took hours, then just had to snap the wings into the fuselage, etc, and glue the little decals onto it. Took me a good two hours!

Yeah it’s insane. I’m currently printing a puzzle box for my kids. All in all it will have taken me maybe an hour total of effort, and it will be a great, detailed puzzle box that altogether will probably end up costing $5 of plastic.

Playoff baseball is fun. I haven’t watched much baseball all year (thanks a lot Twins), but I have watched some of the playoff games. It was really nice to see the Yankees lose last night, especially at home. It was fun to see the Brewers win. Even though I live in WI, I am indifferent about the Brewers since there is no Twins/Brewers rivalry, but I have family that cheer for them, so I am happy for them.

Dolphins, Titans, Texans and Bucs are all winless. Which team(s) will get their first win this week?

Bucs/Cowboys? UDFA rookie starting QB? LOL
Dolphins/Bengals? probably not.
Titans/Texans? The tie is unlikely. Titans are hosting, but wow they’re bad.
