Had to move my father from Texas. He has dementia. The TSA agents that we dealt with when flying here were complete and utter asshats. Asking him all sorts of questions that he cannot answer.

Is the Supreme Court gonna finish this month off with another victory for America tomorrow and limit the power of the unelected government agencies?
The Supreme Court might rule to limit the power of the Agencies, perhaps, but then the agencies, especially the powerful ones like the FBI, CIA, DOJ, and Homeland Security, will just ignore any ruling, laws, or Congressional oversight, like they’ve been doing.
It’s likely but if they at least make the ruling it’s a step in the right direction and a basis for further lawsuits to continue limiting some of the power. As it directly pertains to this case, I am interested in seeing the EPA get cut back, but limiting the power of the rest of the agencies would be a big bonus. Like you said they’ll keep trying to get around it or just flat out ignore the ruling, but the Supreme Court is about the only thing giving me any hope for the future of our government right now. The Supreme Court is Trump’s true legacy that has not been talked about very much, at least until the demons just change the rules and pack the court.
EPA is definitely the easiest big agency to limit, since it relies largely on a partnership with the states, but the fact is that a huge share of the EPA’s current budget goes to buying votes, like the tens of millions to the Red Lake Indian Reservation here in Minnesota for “Education on the Importance of Land” and other slush fund democrat grifting.

My soft-sided tackle box is stuffed with so much crap I was looking at one with wheels a few weeks ago.
Pretty sure I could survive the apocalypse just offa that thing, but I go boat fishing a bunch and tried a backpack, but I was always too hard to dig down for what I needed. I see some really nice new fishing backpacks at Cabelas now, though, which might mean I have to give that a second look.
And Cabelas is having a summer sale right now.

I lucked out, my backpack (non fishing style) is packed away somewhere in the bowels of our shipping containers, but the hospital held a fundraiser and they had a hunting package consisting of a 1 year subscription to OnX elite, bunch of hunting knives, gut hooks, game bags, etc, and a camo backpack. I got the winning bid for it and used it for my trip to Canada. I did have that last minute thought like Oh Fudge what if there is a knife blade in one of the pockets I forgot to check, as I went through airport security.
I have a fly fishing vest packed with tools, flies and line. Have a tackle box stuffed with crap in one of the storage spots on my boat.

You know, they didn’t have a picture of the auction item on their website. I didn’t snap a pic of all the stuff after I unpacked it either. I know there was a travois style rope drag, gut hook, game bag, the bigger Havalon scalpel knife, a bone saw, the On-X membership, some meat spices, and the Fieldline backpack, with probably some other sundry items.

Those TSA agents don’t take kindly to knives and such in your pack. I took my hunting pack as my carry on once and there was a loaded 22-250 round that had worked into the liner of my backpack. 6 TSA agents later, every last thing out of my bag and about 10 trips through the x-ray they finally got it out and I got a scolding. Then I had to sign something saying I was sorry and wouldn’t do it again. The part I found the funniest was one of the items they had to take out of my pack was my badge that meant I could have carried a loaded firearm on the plane, with a little paperwork.
Frank Odermann (Billings) taught my handgun courses (highly recommend) and mentioned one of his SEAL buddies had a pistol in his checked baggage, careful to check the rules of each state he was visiting. Plane had a mechanical issue passing through NJ and he had to spend the night. He asked a police officer at the baggage claim if he was OK and they shrugged. Of course when he checked in the next day they damn near tossed him in jail and he missed his flight when he mentioned what was in his bag at the counter. New Jersey sucks.

So, going to be interesting with travel for a bit, especially domestically. On one hand you have a disaster going with the airlines. Labor issues, looks like pilots are calling in sick constantly in an attempt to get more pay. MY international agent said yesterday many quit as they were tired of being covid cops vs airline employees. Cost is high with jet fuel too.
Then, if you drive, gas is a killer and hotels, food, etc through the roof. Pick your poison OR stay home.
Was going to go to Glendo Res in WY on friday for walleyes. Guide wants $500 for Kym and I. Hotel is $105 (shack at lake). Gas would be $225 minimum. $950 likely for 1 day fishing. NOPE

We still have our reasonably priced little class B, we love traveling in it especially when we have the dog and the ability to pee whenever you want is quite appealing to my wife. The only stickler as you point out is the price of diesel. Even the dyed diesel I put in my tractor is expensive these days. Thank goodness I studied hard in school.

I’m used to something a bigger, but 68-year old widowed neighbor got a Winnebago in same style as that, and really loves it.
This summer is booked, but I think I’ll be looking at an older Class A diesel-pusher next year that has maybe a Cummins that’s barely broke in at 100k or less miles.
FWIW class B’s might be a cult, but many long time RV couples downsize to them and love them. Of course, there are also unconfirmed anecdotes of class B’ers moving to the big diesel pushers. We like ours because there is no temptation to haul crap you don’t need because there is no spare space, you can set up and break down in a minute or less, and we don’t plan any elaborate meals but instead hit up local restaurants or grocery stores.
I will probably be going back and forth to son’s place, and if Turdeau would ever get keel-hauled or run up the mizzen so I can go to Canuckistan again, maybe haul stuff for kid between his new wherever home and all his stuff stored in Alaska.

The wedding was in Bellagio on Lake Como, very pretty. My buddy said that Venice wasn’t as crowded as advertised, but there were no cruise ships there the days he visited.
I remember as a kid when we lived in W Germany, some of our teachers took a trip to southern Italy while on vacation. One of them fell asleep on the beach (no sunscreen back in those days oh no probably had baby oil on) and literally got third degree burns from the sun. Took him some time to recover and I’m sure he still has the scars to prove it.
That area is awesome but I’ve never been there. My cousin’s daughter just got married in Seville last week. My sister went for free from my cousin as her hubby passed away sadly a couple years ago. My sister loved Sevilla.
Seville was fun when I went 20 years ago other than the 130F temps. We went to a little Roman town they were excavating (Itallica I believe) and got to walk through the coliseum. The architecture was pretty cool. We split our group in 2. Half went to the middle of the arena and half went to the back row. From the back row you could hear the group talking normal in the arena.
Pretty hot indeed, getting temps over 30°C regularly, though it’s a bit cloudy today. Make it happen MT, Italy is definitely worth a visit!
