Ah, the dreaded Tuesday, arguably the worst day of the work week. We can take solace in the fact that training camp is nearly underway. It will sure be nice to have some actual football things to discuss rather than ANOTHER argument about whether Kirk Cousins can lead a team to the Super Bowl. I think we may have worn that topic out.

I still maintain the question marks on the Vikings team are KAM (not thrilled or impressed with his draft strategy this year at all) KOC (talks a good game but he strikes me as all icing and no cake) the new defensive scheme and DC (could be really great eventually, but we don’t have time for eventually) and of course like every year, the O-line.
If I was KOC I would be screaming at the players that we are the big dogs now and we’re gonna kick everybody’s ass starting with the Packers in game one and announce to them and the rest of the league that there’s a new sheriff in town. We need to make a statement that the NFC North has a new champ and not just for this year but every year moving forward. He needs to tell the offense we are going to score 5 TD’s or more in every game. He needs to tell the defense that we’re going to destroy the opposing offense, kick the shit out of their QB, knock the hell out of their running back, and force interceptions and fumbles all day long.
That said I don’t see KOC being that guy… he’s a nice, positive, supportive coach. Not a guy who will push players to their limits and make them better.

Draft wasn’t shit. The picks were good, one trade was bad.
Some considered it the worst draft in years. We easily should have had another starter from it.
If you compare it to the WReck drafts, it was about average for his last 6 drafts, which were pathetic.
Though it remains to be seen if the picks are any good, I tend to agree. On paper, that draft was nicely played, despite that horrible deal. We´ll see what comes of it, but to say it was “shit” a few weeks after the fact is pretty premature indeed.

A gobert like trade I’d be fine with. When all is said and done with that trade the Twolves will have sent like 4 bench players and in all likelihood 4 late first round picks with at best one potential lottery pick seven years down the line. Its a high quantity low quality trade. The difference is in the NFL you don’t likely make that move for anyone other than QB. Gobert is the best defensive player in the NBA, its a different sport where defense is a rarity, but the best comp would be what, Aaron Donald? Would you send 4 decent young backup/borderline starter vets along with like 2nd/3rd round picks with one seven years from now maybe being a 1st for Donald? NFL is different and I don’t know enough about the NBA to make a perfect comparison but from what I see I would do that for Donald.
