It’s Finally Friday!
Alright, we’re rolling on through the week, and into another fine weekend. It’s supposed to get a lot cooler here over the weekend after our 100 degree day yesterday, but hey, the fish bite better when it’s cooler. Kiddo and I are heading over to the monster truck show tonight, so that ought to be a blast. Then, I think we’re planning to get the boat up to the big water on Saturday & Sunday and look for some fish.
The preseason sorta kicked off last night with the Hall of Fame game, which had the Jaguars going up against the Raiders. As of this writing, there is no final, but I’m guessing we’ll see a glorified practice. My main hope is that Slotergoat lights it up out there. There isn’t a whole lot of news coming out of Vikings training camp, which is a good thing, so we’ll keep you up to date with what is available, and anxiously anticipate seeing the good guys in action once again. Until then, y’all have at it in the comments, and remember, be cool to one another.

I think the Bradbury selection was in-line with Zimmer’s run first, think about the pass second, mentality. He wanted a fast athletic line, because he had a fast athletic back who could dominate running the stretch play. On top of that Bradbury is actually very bright and able to make the O-line calls at the line of scrimmage. The line was never built to protect Cousins and that is a failure the team has suffered from.
I was reading an article on Purpleptsd.com where the author was talking about Cousins and “his” win percentage. The author stated “being the team’s highest-paid player and the one who plays the most important position means he’ll get disproportionate amounts of praise or criticism. When things go really well, Cousins will get a lot of praise. When things go really poorly, Cousins will get a lot of criticism.” That is patently false. Cousins has never been overtly praised for anything. No matter how well he plays, he never gets credit for anything. In fact, it’s the opposite. If Cousins does well it’s “the opposing team had a lot of injuries” or “Cook played really well” or whatever.
I WISH someone would give Cousins credit when he plays well (which is the vast majority of the time). I don’t see it ever happening. Even if he wins a Super Bowl the media will continue to proclaim he is an average QB.
His win percentage over the last two years was grossly affected by a PUTRID defense… But everyone knows KC plays both ways so let’s blame him for every fivin’ thing!
Looking at the clips of Booth below, it appears he came into camp with the intent to talk big and push people around to show dominance. Unfortunately for him, the pros are like… not so much dude. Not sure if he’s all blow and no go yet. Might could be really good after he gets acclimated. Might flame out quick. Hoping of course he sees that talking smack and trying to physically push WR’s around in the NFL only makes them want to burn you and embarrass you as overtly as possible.

The problem with this whole thing is we could have ended it before it started. Trump would have slapped Putin down when he started massing troops. Biden wanted to do the sanctions thing. Unfortunately all of Europe is dependent on Russian oil and so are we (because of Biden). He botched this like he botched Afghanistan.

Finally home from St Louis. Flight out was delayed, which made me miss my connection in Atlanta, then a thunderstorm cell came through as I was already boarded on the flight home from Atlanta. 3 hour delay and we all had to get off the plane. Finally got back on the plane at 6:45. Took off at 7:30 and finally landed in Baltimore around 9:30. Thankfully my bag made it too.

It was… glad it’s over and I’m home with my girl.

This is the reason why WA political observers can speak with a lot of certainty about how the remaining WA-03 ballots will go. The ballots counted today mostly arrived on Election Day, almost everything left to be counted did too, and Kent is winning the E-Day ballots everywhere.

I see VP is posting today, good to see you. I was thinking of you after work, I got home (high hit 106 yesterday) and the choco was so excited to see me, but it was just so hot I felt bad taking him for a walk. Instead I loaded him up in the old beater pickup and drove 4 miles with the windows down to the lake. Tossed the ball for a half hour waded out to my mid thighs, loaded him back up and drove home. The whole way home he just stared at me with a big happy grin tongue panting. You just can’t buy that kind of love.
