I read an article where the author said he noticed the Vikings running a lot of choice routes Sunday. Basically, this means the receivers have options built into every play. If they recognize the defense is playing zone or man or a specific technique, then they run the route that attacks the weakness.
This makes the passing offense very hard to defend except for one thing. Both the QB and the receiver have to see the same thing and go to the same place on the field. It slows processing time dramatically if the QB is unsure if the receivers are really making the move he expects them to make. This may be why the two back-up QB’s seemed to hold the ball longer than normal and lob rather than fire it.

Sis has a subdural hematoma from her recent surgery, so she can’t go back on her normal blood thinner and they are doing cat scans to monitor that. Last night I was working on the wiring above the garage door in my shop, so I had to have the door closed. Had a little dim headlamp strapped on to see in the gloom (no windows). Reached in one of my pockets for a tool with my baby soft hands and was like ouch, something sharp in there. Kept on working, stripping wire, putting on wire nuts and clamps more or less by feel, I start thinking jeez I’m really sweating on my right arm got sweat running down into my armpit drip drip drip, wipe some sweat off my face and taste blood. Had a nice gash right on the end of my pinky finger.
Went out this morning and it looks like a demon was handwalking on the roof with bloody handprints and garish bloodstains on the lift and its controls.

That reminds me of a blood tale…
I replaced my toilet, so I had the old one out the garage. I had heard of people breaking them up and simply throwing them in the garbage, so I tapped on the toilet with a sledgehammer until it went all to pieces. I put the broken pieces into two garbage bags and carried the first one to the trash. On the way, the bag lightly, with all the force of a drifting feather, brushed against my ankle.
On the way back to the second bag, I noticed all of these red sprinkles all over the garage floor.
Hmmmm, I thought. Where did all of this red paint come from suddenly?
Then I realize it is blood. I look down at my ankle. When the bag brushed against my leg, a porcelain edge of toilet nicked the big vein there. Blood was literally jetting out of the wound in a thin stream about 18 inches long with each pump of my heart.
Fortunately, I sat down, elevated the ankle and put pressure on it until it stopped and coagulated. If I had severed the vein instead of nicking it, that could have been trouble.

They have some carnival rides also but they were kind of old (and expensive).

We had breakfast last week with the realtor that sold our home. Inventory is still low in the Billings market but she said the reality of the market has changed. No multiple offers anymore, nor offering over asking price. I’m sure there will be a dip, but I doubt you see truly significant declines in home prices, at least in Montana.
FWIW we only had a single offer on our home (other than the usual dumb “how low will they accept”) and that took two months on the market. We got full asking price but I can tell you our home was a better buy in the high end of the market than a lot of the homes that went for more earlier in the boom.
If we were still trying to sell at this time I would definitely be contemplating pulling it from the market for awhile.
Yeah, house my son just bought was on the market for a month with no offers in the Sacramento area… and like probably half the listings in that area the seller put in a significant price drop to get some activity, which resulted in a few more lookers but not the hot multiple offer thingy.
With the influx we’ve seen of Californians I don’t expect a huge drop, but some drop would be nice. Especially since I was planning on trying to move out of town. Initially planned on this year, but the real estate market was insane. I’ll let it calm down a bit and shoot for next summer. There seems to be a large body of research that proves vaccines do help reduce the symptoms, especially in vulnerable populations. I am not yet sold on the booster shots, I had Covid, than had my vaccine shots – I am not really in a hurry to get the boosters shots – not quite convinced that I need one….still waiting for more data. Same with my 18 year old son, not sure it makes sense for him to get boosted.

Got better for a day and then it settled in my lungs for weeks. Took the kids hiking 2 weeks after having it and I could barely keep up with my 5 year old and I’m tall and lanky so out hiking most people has never been a problem.
I have heard, like Biden, immediate recurrence of the virus in vaccinated people (at least the Pfizer one I believe) is pretty common. So you may hypothetically not get it as bad, but there is a decent chance you get it twice. The new variant is supposedly much less severe (exactly how a virus could be expected to mutate), so it’s hard to compare current illnesses with previous ones anyway.

I know I was and since I am a bit OCD tried to concentrate on not touching my face, breathing shallow, etc….basically hoping I wouldn’t catch the bug.
In the healthcare environment circa 1/2019 I would say the average worker was more cognizant of not exposing others, whether staying home, isolating from patient contact, wearing a mask, frequent handwashing, etc.
Present day, I can’t remember the last time I stood in line and had someone coughing on the back of my neck. Probably a temporary panacea but people seem more conscientious.
I can also remember hockey players gutting out the flu in the playoffs. Seems like the whole team was fighting off the flu at one point or another. Perhaps I would have been enraged if Messier took a game off with the flu, but on the other hand maybe if he had the rest of the team wouldn’t have struggled with the flu for the remainder of the playoffs.

My newfound stance is that they should take that friggin Wuhan money and all the rest they spend on stuff like trying to figure out if gnats are homosexual and fund a cure for the flu, as well as common cold and related stuff.

It should be up to the player to decide if they are well enough to do these things, not the CDC or the Government throwing out arbitrary numbers is my point in all of this. Kirk may very well be very sick, but his time to feel better and return shouldn’t be up to the CDC and certainly shouldn’t be 10 days of hoop jumping.

Not if shows not showing any symptoms of being sick. I treat it like a common cold, because it is for 99% of the human population. If youre sitting there coughing, fever, runny nose, feel and sound like shit, then you shouldn’t be at work. If you aren’t showing symptoms you dont have enough viral load to get me sick in the first place unless spit directly into my mouth.

I don’t have much of a bone in this fight but I would hope that you are in contact with your congressman and senators about your feelings. I would love if congressional oversight etc would step in and remove mask mandates, symptom checks, temperature checks, surveillance from all hospitals and nursing homes. To be clear, I have had phone conversations with those people as well as the governor for my state.

This Gentleman I have been following for over a year, actually goes over data, numbers, etc. Robert Malone, and several other Drs are who I get my information from. And all have basically said there is no valid statistical data that asymptomatic spread is a thing, or at least a thing to a point anyone should be worried. And viral load is 100% a thing and 100% right and is huge in determining if you get sick or not. No Idk Kirks symptoms, but I would wager an athlete in their 30s should be fine to be around other people in 3-5 days AT MOST, if he had it really bad. And no I’m not because lets face it, the Government at large does not give two shits about its people, state or federal. Anything I would have to say would fall on deaf ears. Sorry, I dont want this post to come off hostile but I have good, sound reasons why I feel the way I do on this. You have to be vigilant in exposing yourself to multiple sources of information. The danger in only following a single source is bias. Thankfully I have skoloholics to get some variety in my diet haha. The physicians (I assume?) you cite are going out on a limb in thinking that COVID would be different than any of thousands of other respiratory viruses that are known to be reproducing viral genome and shedding virus at a significant rate (this is the prodrome phase more or less) prior to developing symptoms and developing antibodies. When I hear a physician saying this virus is different from all the others my BS meter starts chirping. Which is not to say they may not be right. Anecdotally though, many people I talk to state they were not exposed to any symptomatic people prior to developing SARS-CoV2 respiratory illness.
Myself, I have not been sick since 2018. As long as I continue to feel good there is no way I am going to get tested and find out I’m sick even though I feel fine. I may be one of the last people on the planet that hasn’t had a test yet.

That’s not shocking. I bought a mini bus for work, like the small white buses you see for disabled people with the wheelchair lift on the side. Anyway, brand new it cost me 64k in October 2020 and was delivered w/in a week. I just got a quote for one that will take a year to get and cost… 130k. less than 2 years and the price doubled. The one I bought two years ago has appreciated roughly 30k at current used prices. We live in insane times.

I was reading a bit about housing development in Ontario https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/housing-development-ontario-affordable-1.6549602 and I feel for both sides. People put money down in 2020 but with pandemic layoffs and now the price of building materials what can a developer do? I thank the powers that be that we serendipitously put up our shouse in 2019. Guarantee it would cost twice as much and take twice as long now. However, I don’t think having the government step in and regulate private industry is the answer.
