No charges have been rendered against Favre, but companies affiliated with the quarterback are already distancing themselves. Copper Fit, a pain relief brand selling sleeves and compression garments has removed Favre from the front page of their website, though he still appears in their “Brand Champions” section.
More notably, Odyssey Health has scrubbed mention of Favre from their social media channels and website — removing him from their sports advisory group. This is significant, because Odyssey Health plays a huge role in this scandal too. The company purchased “Prevacus,” a concussion drug that received money from the state of Mississippi, funneled through Favre, to Jake VanLandingham — former CEO of Prevacus, and now a director of Odyssey Health, a role he obtained in the drug sale.
Favre had previously been questioned by the FBI, but no charges were brought at the time. However, with Davis now cooperating with investigators the state has two of the four key players present during a meeting that allegedly occurred at Favre’s home. In that meeting Favre hosted Davis, New, and VanLandingham in an effort to aide the state of Mississippi investing in Prevacus, using welfare funds furnished by Davis, and passed through New’s nonprofit, to ensure the paper trail didn’t appear like the state was directly investing in the drug company.
This is a huge twist, and while Favre has not been charged at this time — it’s feeling like the walls are closing in.
So Favre took no money personally and put it towards a volleyball court for a school? Is that right? I have heard no accusations of him making any personal gains from it.
He was paid for speaking appearances he never made that was the initial accusation.

So my wife’s ex keeps a number of horses, including a couple of young ‘uns he is raising for the grandkids. I have never witnessed the rather slow process of breaking a horse so stopped by and watched two weekends back. A yearling colt has recently started accepting the halter, although while I was there the granddaughter was unable to slip it on his head so it took both me and him to back the colt into a corner and hold him still long enough to slip it.
Led him over to a post and then tied him to the post. What ensued was fascinating…the colt would yank on the rope, freak out with the feedback, and try to rear back, flipping onto his back with a thump. Jump up, repeat. Did this for about ten minutes, granddaughter with tears streaming down her face, until he stood there like well fuck. At that point he started allowing himself to be pulled by the rope, so the rope was untied and the granddaughter instructed to keep leading him around, pull on the rope from time to time to make him take one step to the side, then release the rope and praise him as soon as he stepped appropriately.
Was cool to see. Very similar to the whole process of teaching a dog to accept the leash and heel.
Now all the other horses surround me looking for the treats I normally carry but that colt will have nothing to do with me yet.
I was hoping that at the end of your story there would be some sort of tie-in to certain people accepting certain truths around these parts

Nice. There are many ways to break a horse some gentler than others. The guys I have learned what little I know about it prefer the round pen method. It is very gentle and you get a horse less likely to buck. If the horse doesn’t learn to buck, it won’t buck (or so I have been told). It is an interesting process to behold though for sure.
The guys on Vikes America Free Thread just get on and ride them until they quit jumping around. The he/his/its on purple pansy likely try to make the horse read a book or watch a youtube vid

Someone needs to do it, and as I told you yesterday, I like the “figure it out” part. The problem is that you can end up living in a dark place, meaning it’s depressing what humans can do to other humans. There’s also the risk that some really sick creep will come after you and yours if you get close to identifying them as the guilty one.
You wouldn’t believe what I went through just having to fire crazy and dangerous people in the corporate world. You end up looking over your shoulder leaving the plant late, and I also had to take some fairly extreme measures to protect people who had been threatened.

It was 8,000 employees, so really like a small city. The plant was in Georgetown, KY, not far from Lexington, but during this time, and HR Manger was found murdered in her trunk in Louisville.
Should clarify, she wasn’t a Toyota employee. Can’t remember the name of the company she worked for here in Louisville.

I was the person in charge of preventing workplace violence, so I had to deal with them all. We had a committee and others such as security involved, but I was the leader.
If you think about the kind of stuff you’d deal with in a small city, we had it all, including rape. One of the scariest was when a 12 year old girl called the plant wanting her Mommy because her Dad had a gun pointed at her head threatening to kill her.

The one good thing is I had a lot of resources. We could afford to do many things small companies couldn’t do. I can’t tell you everything I did, because if the bad guys knew, they would no longer be effective.
Hint: I used off duty police officers in many, many different ways.

Most of the things I did were my own ideas, but I had total control, needed no one’s approval, and no budget limits for this kind of thing. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have stayed in that job.

There were zero workplace violence incidents while I was there. One of the keys is early intervention. Also, no one else wanted that job, lol.
Honestly, my reputation was impeccable. I needed a Japanese coordinators approval on a million dollar project when I found out he was leaving for a long trip to Japan. Tracked him down, all he said was “is this another one of your performance improvement projects?” I said yes, he signed it without reading it and said keep up the good work. The Japanese don’t normally approve that kind of money without thorough review.
