Oh, the Vikings are tied for being the second best team in football. The numbers don’t lie.

Back in North Dakota…..barely. Our flight leaving this morning was delayed, and we had to run like crazy and barely made our connecter flight. Kiddo and I ran & got there, told the jackasses to wait because there were 5 others running behind us.

I miss driving the turnpike, that shit was fun. Going 100 mph to keep up with the flow of traffic (well, a bit faster than others but not by much) is my kind of driving.

Hard to tell if the Vikings are being plucky and showing they have lots of different ways to win, or if they’re getting a little lucky while figuring things out. I tend to think it’s more the latter, but I digress.

At any rate, this level of play ought to be enough to beat the next two teams on the schedule (ARI and WAS) and I don’t know many who expect to win the two after that (BUF and DAL), so we might be looking at 7-3 with ten games in the bag.

Patriots and Jets aren’t pushovers. The Lions on the road. Might be 8-5 after that stretch.

Colts are abysmal. Giants look improved, but will it last? 9-6?

9-6 with games in Green Bay and Chicago to finish – will the pukers be in playoff contention? If so, 10-7 or 9-8 might be the final result.

If PHI/DAL/NYG are in from the East, and either the South or the West send a wildcard team in addition to their divisions’ winners, then there won’t be room for Minnesota AND Green Bay.

It doesn’t take this Vikings fan much imagination to see a scenario where they miss the playoffs.

After all of that punting last night, isn’t it just fitting that a muffed punt ends the game. Chargers were in a dicey spot on the field though, and needed that 9 yard pass to feel good about the FG attempt.

I’m glad I didn’t watch it, but sounds like the ending was tense and dramatic for fans of the teams.

From a football fan perspective it was an enjoyable time watching the last part of the game.
