I’m open to suggestions on how to grow the front porch and by extension the site itself.
So far, we’re all refugees from Vox, I’d like to change that.
Hopefully the logo will be done soon, then we can hit the marketing hard. That’s kinda the main thing that I’m waiting for before we can really launch.
I really liked the Vikings longboat, but agree it was too similar to the DN

I am a daily visitor and commenter on the Daily Threads. I am not sue the difference between that open thread and the Front Porch. From my perspective, they seem redundant. I think we have to better differentiate what each one is meant to do.
The one think I miss from the Daily Norseman site are the great Fan Posts that used to be there. Those had some very good writing and quality thinking. I know you have the Huddle set up here, but it gets little to no action (kind of like my weekends!).

The difference between the two open threads is this one is moderated (and has rules) the other is Wild West of commenting.
As for the huddle, give it time for people to start writing
