I share this post from the dark side as Rob and I like to commiserate on the shitshow of modern medicine plus it gives him an opportunity to TL;DR me.
Man what a shitshow this morning.
I get an invite late Monday evening to a Teams meeting at 0630 today with the partially elected body that oversees the clinical side of things at my job. Trying not to get tl;dr there were prior email attachments to the invite that set my uneasy. I fired off a reply asking for some background on it all, heard back from one of my remote partners in Bozeman that she didn’t know but had asked for us (regional) types to be included. I then sent off an email saying that this whole thing was a massive breakdown in communication, why would asswipe A be invited to speak about asswipe B (me) without inviting me in the first place? Got a few phone calls from leadership explaining the invite was poorly worded, probably not about me at all but would love to have you participate.
Meeting starts. I gather from what I heard later some garishly worded email had been sent out by A a couple of weeks ago, whining how the regional asswipes were strangling the big city group out of gold doubloons. So the master of ceremonies says there is some miscommunication, glad you could all be here, let’s introduce ourselves (the big city group was in the board room in person).
A proceeds on a twenty five minute monologue introducing every single rad and their role including me. Starts to complain about how he’s been dealt a shitty hand and then moves on to describe how asswipe B:
-worked out his own deal behind his back
-has no morals
-left the group in desperate situation
-has a glorious lifestyle with no call or weekend work
-refused to work with the main group at a compromise
-was “voluntarily” given several sites to read from “temporarily” but apparently won’t give them back
-forced the other regional asswipes to join him in his fortress of solitude while gleefully flipping the bird to the rest.
Needless to say I weighed in and was supported by the regional team who have mountains of documentation on how it went down in addition to my own extensive documentation.
The thing I almost wanted to laugh about was that I wasn’t included in the original invite on November 7. How sweet to think I would be ground under the tire of public scrutiny without being invited.
PS I never did get to introduce myself.
tl;dr
that the great thing about being a NP in a hospital, nobody gives a shit what I think about any administrative garbage.
I go to work and come home.

Pro-tip: don’t leave too little or too much wire in a new electrical box and just shove the receptacle back and screw it down. 240V is quite a sight, though.

I had three of the receptacles pop on me in the new shop I wired because the nearest Menards only had small double gang metal boxes. Trying to cram two outlets in a shallow box and not have a bare wire short it out is quite difficult.
Yeah, I brought the outlet into work to show my badge of honor to my coworkers and the shallow single gang steel box I am using got a few groans.
Now I know though, good way to learn if you don’t burn something down.

WI gun deer season starts Saturday and the morning lows are going to be around 10 with only a high of 17. The deer from about 6:30 to 10am better watch out, otherwise I am going to be heading for the warmth of the vehicle. Stupid Wisconsin.

We’re a** hole deep in snow up here.
I’m not a big fan of winter. It has been snowing lightly for about 2 days now and people still are driving like morons. I had to go out to a meeting last night and really wanted to just turn around and go home after having to slow for 2 deer in the first few miles of the trip.
Yeah, these people are insane. You’d think they’d learn how to drive in this since we get 6 months of winter every year, but nope. I’m convinced that they all remove their brains before getting into their vehicles each day.

True. I will say that driving on the turnpike was an absolute joy. No kidding, I had the cruise set on 95 all the way from Orlando to Miami and back, and many times, was far above that to keep up with someone who passed me (lead blocker, why not?).
Glendive is even worse than Billings about plowing snow. It is a real chore driving in town. The worst part is the snow might not go away now until March.

Maybe… I had a 28” diameter oak tree ride my foot through the dirt. Another tree hit me in the small of the back and sent me and that running saw off a 12’ embankment. I had lots of stitches in my knee from a smaller saw…

I have a Makita battery powered chainsaw. I use it way more than the gas powered Husqvarna.
Those things are sweet. You should see them in real life, they’re friggin awesome. I’d like to use one on that little bastard activist investor that’s forcing them to sell our corporation. I’d run him through there myself.
