Speaking of Thursday Night Football, I’m sitting here watching this right now, and I have to tell you, this supposed “best fanbase in the NFL” is awful quiet. It’s 14-6 Tennessee as of this writing, and you could hear a pin drop in the stadium, well other than the boos as the Packers leave the field for halftime. Hee hee. Fair weather fans, maybe? Can’t handle a little adversity? I don’t know, just an observation. It’s sure going to be fun watch that team slip back into mediocrity or worse, isn’t it?

I know we did a couple of contrast enhanced exams on her so her clearance must have been adequate. Her GFR did decrease during hospitalization as they asked if there were signs of renal obstruction, there wasn’t, but renal function often decreases during hospitalization, probably because of the reason you’re hospitalized/sick.
Hmmmm…so not a smokeless tobacco user likely but cancer in her mouth. I assume cigarettes are also a primary cause. I would think a pretty solid survival rate.

This is likely typical but I do like to spin a yarn. Now that we’ve been together nearly 30 years it only takes seconds for me to be interrupted or even told I’ve already told this tale. However, she loves to say the same things over and over again. She puts in about 10x the words I do in an evening. I have learned not to cut her off or say I’ve heard this before – that does not work in a reciprocal fashion.
I knew you guys had been together a long time but didn’t realize that long…congrats. We just celebrated our 30-year anniversary earlier this year.
BTW…your description of how conversations go in your house sounds eerily similar to mine. I can’t get out a complete sentence most of the time without my wife cutting me off but I can listen to her for minutes before interjecting a question/comment and my wife will complain I’m always interrupting her.

Regarding the mask BS in the other thread: I had a pt walk in today and demand that my tech and I wear a mask, so we did. During the refraction, she takes off her mask on her own because of fogging issues (so apparently she was safe for that timeframe). And the best part, her husband was next, and he didn’t have a mask on and didn’t care if we wore one! Makes a lot of sense that she makes us wear one for her and not for him to wear one… Of course, when she was looking for glasses and out in the optical area afterwards, there were 5+ other people nearby not wearing masks and that didn’t matter either. People are so dumb with their arbitrary virtue signaling.
Also, I saw a study a while back that all the fibers in the surgical masks are similar to asbestos in that they get stuck in the lungs and may very well likely cause cancer or other similar lung disease to asbestos years from now. I’m sure that won’t rear it’s ugly head in the future with everyone wearing them all the time for 2+ years…

A lady I work with has a mother-in-law that was all psycho about Covid. However, when it came time for her to go out to eat with her golfing buddies, that wasn’t a problem. Sometimes it isn’t virtue signaling but cognitive dissonance.
Sometimes likely ignorance or stupidity as well, I would imagine.
I hate the mask freaks. I read the study too about fibers in the lungs from masks.
I hope those fibers don’t case cancer. Lots of us in healthcare have had to wear those masks for many different reasons.
Those surgical masks make your throat itch.

Its just a form of power and control that got given to a lot of losers in life that finally get something they could hold over people. Thats really all it is.
FWIW I highly doubt it. There’s no study that I know of demonstrating increased risks of cancer in surgical techs, etc, who have worn masks 8 hours a day for their entire career.
Hopefully not, but of course with the increased demand of masks and shady companies making them and trying to make a buck, I would imagine quality is not the same and there are legitimate risks there.
Also, out of curiosity, are there even any studies that have legitimately checked into that? And with 50X the amount of people wearing masks now than just that subset of people, along with them wearing them more often as well, exposure has gone up substantially. That has to be factored in and is ominous, IMO.
