Alright, we’re just a few short days away from Vikings football. I know this break between games will only be 3 days longer than a normal break, but man, it SURE feels a lot longer. I’m excited for the Vikings-Jets game, I expect it will be a similar game to the Patriots game, as the Jets team is very similar to the Patriots. Great defense, and a below average offense with a below average quarterback. As we know, our defense specializes in making quarterbacks look better than they are, so I expect another close game, as we have come to expect from the 2022 Vikings. Hey, who cares? Just win, baby! SKOL!!!!!!!!!!!

Wasn’t clear. Do you have ESPN+ or no? If you do, you can stream most NHL games with that access plus Hulu. I’ve had Hulu anyway for a few years but love the cross-over with ESPN+ because I’ve been able to see most Wild games the past 2 seasons despite living in Florida.
No ESPN+, no Hulu. Only so many plans i guy can afford. Wild usually on Bally sports so i just ignore streaming.

I do like the app, though. Creates a grocery list you can check off ingredients before going to the store & the instructions has a function where you can just put your hand over the screen to advance so that you don’t have to touch the screen with dirty hands.

I like the flying part. With 3 of us, we usually get a group of seats by ourselves. I hate everything besides the flight. I especially dislike the rectal exam by the TSA.
Way back when I was single, I got on a 4-hour flight, picked a seat in the back, and said a prayer: “God, please seat me next to a nice, attractive girl so we can chat it up on the flight and fall in love.”
After the plane had been filled, I sat there with 80-year-old+ women all around me for 2 rows.
I think God has a pretty good sense of humor.

I flew from Seattle to Dallas back in my single days, ended up sharing the row with a beautiful flight attendant (deadheading) and that was a nice time. She was engaged so purely platonic.
On the flight back on that same trip, I was dead tired and looking forward to sleeping. I chatted briefly with a tall attractive lady during boarding and after I got seated was promptly nodding off as they closed the doors. I was surprised as the young lady came and asked if she could sit next to me in the otherwise empty row. No, there was no mile high club or handy under the blankets, we ended up getting along well and I talked with her on the phone a few times but she lived in another country (Oregon).
You didn’t need to tell us it was platonic. We learned the other day that your pre-marital exploits were limited to a 4-year fling with conjoined twins while you were in college.

Actually I just lied, the tall gal referenced above was not from another country, she was from another world (Cali). The Oregon girl was a different flight.

I didn’t become a CEO until I bought my own business at 47 and gave myself that title, and 8 years later I still haven’t been published. Who I am to share in his greatness without his permission?

I wasn’t a gigantic fan of the hire when it happened (I wanted Harbaugh, tbh), but watching stuff like this makes it easy to see why the attitude change has been so big this season. Very encouraging, building-up type of personality. Seems like guys would run through a brick wall for him.

Big night for me tonight. I completed season one of Better Call Saul a couple of weeks ago, but I was going to make myself wait until December to start season two, so I don’t have it all watched before winter is even half over.
Tonight, season two begins!
Oh, season 2 is MUCH better. You’ll love it. Season one sucked, and I almost gave up on the series because of it. It was folks on here who talked me into continuing, and I’m glad I did.
I enjoyed season one. Being able to watch an episode every night instead of waiting a week probably helps.
Saul was my favorite character on Breaking Bad, so I am enjoying revisiting him. I normally don’t like prequels, but this seems a bit different.
I gave up midway through season 1. Maybe I’ll pick it up again to get through that.
It does get really good the further you get into it.

Said that the group of Christian players in the locker room had kinda been quieted in the past couple years, and have been “reborn” (my term because it’s fitting) this year.
Yeah, its weird. Zim seemed pretty close to a lot of the guys earlier in his tenure but its clear his last two years he had no interest in any kind of relationships with people, seems he was just completely burnt out.

I have it set to latest tweets, although it always finds a way to reset to top.
Right now, the 2nd tweet on my timeline is always a promoted tweet and then it’s a bunch before the next. Might have been a weird issue where scrolling to the bottom of the timeline loaded only 1 more tweet at a time followed by a promoted tweet. I see a promoted one every time it loads more, but right now it’s at least loading more than 1 ‘new’ tweet at a time.

I think my last Fanpost was my controversial “Gentlemen’s bet” on how many wins the Vikings would get last season. I was testing a theory that none of the “doomers” would put their proverbial ‘money where their mouth was’ (there was no money involved…only a voluntary period of “self-banishment” from the DN after the season ended).
As it turned out, their were several folks who signed up for the bet on both sides of the wager (which was unexpected), but none of the “serial offenders” took my up on it (which was expected…cowards).
Ohhhhhhhhh, yeah I remember that. That one went over like a fart in church with some folks. Kinda like PPB’s list. I also really loved that one, but I was the only mod who did. LOL.

For the most part, the folks it bothered most were the ones it was directed at. It generated a lot of discussion (over 500 comments, IIRC) and about half of them were from Kodiak or people replying to him. He was the main reason I did the post in the first place but he didn’t have the stones to take the bet.
