NFL Weekend Results
Well, the divisional round is over, and the conference championship matchups are set. In the AFC, the Chiefs defeated the Jaguars on Saturday, then the Bengals defeated the Bills (and the refs) yesterday, so it’ll be the Chiefs against the Bengals. In the NFC, the Eagles 38-7’d the Giants, then the 49ers took care of the Cowboys last night, as Dak threw two passes to the wrong team, and both defenses played a hell of a game. In the end, the 9ers defense did more, and Purdy screwed up less than Dak, and the San Francisco 49ers are in the NFC Championship again. All links/updates courtesy of NFL.com.
It’s a little different watching a game when you don’t really care about the outcome. I wanted Philly to lose, but I knew with 100% certainty that they wouldn’t so I just watched that game and shook my head at how the Vikings defense could allow that horrendous offense to march up and down the field against them.
Bills-Window Closing?
The Bills really missed their opportunity yesterday. They had a home playoff game and some friendly refs, but they were unable to do much. Yes, there’s next year, but how will they look next year? Allen’s cap hit explodes to over $40 million next year, so they’re no longer going to have the luxury of having an elite QB on a cheap rookie deal. It seems they missed a bit of a window.

Funny story…well funny to me. When Pulp Fiction came out I was in High school, and I watched this in the movie theaters multiple times. I was usually high AF, and this part always cracked me up.

Random fact that surprised me. The Browns and Lions were once powerhouses.
Original browns franchise wasnโta a dumpster fire, they were pretty good ftmp and have been great since moving to Baltimore. The new browns franchise has been a joke though.
The old Browns org was shit from Otto Graham’s retirement (1956?) until they moved to Baltimore.

Not this one, they don’t go by weight. They’ll have weird prizes, like the 3rd largest walleye wins a pickup, or the 6th fish caught that day, or something of that nature. It’s a cool tournament, and they give away huge prizes like pickups, Jeeps, etc.
At least, that’s my understanding of it.
I’m not sure if I’m gonna go yet. Called fishin’ buddy to see if he was interested. I think he’s fished it before, so if it sucks, he’ll know. Crappy part is you don’t take the pop-up or anything, just out on the ice all day, so definitely need to bundle up.
Sit in car but i’d want a portable at least. Not much fishing ambience otherwise.

It is a salty lake, and fairly stinky for reasons I don’t understand, but apparently a good fishing lake.

That is the question, and in his limited starts so far he doesn’t look that promising.
i canโt even remember how much he played. Did he play multiple games? Seems like he did but they had injuries and no McCaffery either so a comparison to Purdy is moot.
It’s hard enough to predict how college QB’s will translate to NFL success. I don’t think that kid has played enough football for anyone to have a clue what his potential is.

First I should say I like Bills fans and wouldn’t object if they won (although I agree the Hamlin thing was way overdone), but have to admit I enjoyed this take. He said it was a cold, hard loss with no excuses.
At some point you hit the age where chewing Skittles is just begging for a trip to the dentist. I guess I have reached that point.
I hate to tell you, but that gets worse when you’re my age. Doesn’t take much to chip a tooth.
Skittles are not worth it…I stopped long ago…I no longer eat that super chewy sticky stuff that can destroy dental work…the hard caramel candies are a no no as well.
I’m somewhat addicted to Hot Tamales, I doubt I’ll ever give them up.

This just shows how dominate the Vikings were in 1970’s, and how consistent this team was in getting to playoffs pre 2000.
They have only been to the divisional round 3 times since 2005.

Yeah, it bottles the mind he lasted as long as he did, 3 different coaching staffs spanning 16 years and the Wilfs were still allegedly going to keep him until they found out he quit talking to his HC months before the season ended.
The Vikings only made the playoffs 6 of those 16 seasons and the Vikings record over his years with the Vikings was 132-123-1 overall and a playoff record of 3-6. His best stretch of success was Zim’s first four years.
Amazing how close we are to still having that friggin’ bonehead as GM. You think KOC comes here if Rick is GM?
