Patrick Peterson Wants To Remain A Viking

PatPete

Aloha, Skoloholics! One of the few bright spots on the 2022 Minnesota Vikings defense was veteran cornerback, Patrick Peterson.

On the latest episode of his podcast, All Things Covered, Peterson discussed, among other topics, his future in Minnesota. Here’s what he said:

“I would love to be there in that purple and gold again and give it a run again just because I love the community there,” Peterson said on the show. “I love the organization. I love the new regime that (the Wilf ownership group has) brought into that building, the trainers, the strength and conditioning staff. It’s just amazing. I truly believe it felt like home for me. I felt like it was a place that I belonged. But we all know it’s a business.”

Peterson will be 33 before the kickoff of the 2023 NFL season. That being said, he was easily the best cornerback on the Vikings’ roster last year, and I believe that he’s still playing at a high level. Should the Vikings hold on to the future hall-of-fame cornerback? With all of the work that the team needs to do on the defensive side of the ball, do they want to add CB to their list of desperate needs? He only made $4 million in 2022. If he’s willing to play for anything close to that, I would re-sign him. Even if he is unable to perform at the level of CB1, he would be solid depth, and if you don’t have any young guys on the team who can compete with him, then we need him, and he wants to be here.

That’s my opinion, what say you?

Veteran presence in the secondary would be nice, how much is going to want though?

He seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I think he’ll be team-friendly.
