I wasn’t around much yesterday, so I missed the big news about the Broncos brininging in Payton. The Broncos are reportedly sending their first round pick (29th pick), second round pick, and a future third round pick to the Saints. Some folks are getting on Paton for giving up so many draft picks, but you know, Paton spent a decade watching Rick Spielman draft, so I suppose he places a lower value on draft picks than most GMs.

The Texans have hired former 49ers DC Demeco Ryans to be their new head coach, per NFL.com.

The Lions have a good WR they drafted in the first round so they are the best team.
If they’re the best team in the division its because they have by far the best oline and a young improving d to go along with good skill position players. Amon-Ra St. Brown in the 4th was a better pick than Jamo at #12, though having Jamo will only make Brown even better. Them trading Hock was a head scratcher though.
Its a good question, the Vikings will play a tougher schedule, will have to move on from some vets with minimal draft capital, while Detroit has cap space and 2 first and 2 second round picks including #6 overall. Detroit has drafted well with their new GM so I’d expect they get some decent players, they are also building their team the right way with an elite oline and young improving dline while the Vikings are meh at best in the trenches. The division very likely comes down to the Vikings and Lions next year. I’d give the edge to Vikings because KOC, MCDC still makes super dumb decisions that cost his team games, like at US bank stadium this year. I think both teams make the playoffs though.
I kind of enjoy when the Lions make the playoffs. They are like my 2nd favorite team to cheer for in the playoffs lol. It’s been rare when they’ve been in the playoffs and Vikes haven’t but for some reason I’ve always liked that underdog team.

People so fixated on turning everything to something that bothers them will always remind me of one of my grandmas. Fuck there was about a decade there where every conversation had to get brought to some shit she was mad at and it was usually the same topic it always got brought to. There was a cousin’s wedding and my job that day was to keep grandma busy and away from the wedding venue till about 10 minutes before it started so she didn’t bring the vibe down with her negativity. I just got some new turkey stuff yesterday to try out. So much eating, so little time…
I’ve been really hungry lately. I started a 30 day challenge where I tried to run a 5K every day for 30 days. I only got to day 10, though. I had to get put on some antibiotics, and they made a run not really feasible Monday. Just too much bathroom stuff happening. I will still see how many I can do in 30 days, though. But my appetite has blown up.
I eat more fish & poultry and less red meat. Not cutting red meat out completely, of course, but just adjusted my diet a little to get my cholesterol down. Dropped it 45 points in one year with no drugs, just exercise and diet adjustments.
and I just recently started running regularly again, so it’ll drop a lot more now. I was only running maybe once every 2-3 weeks last year, I’m running 3x a week now.

I have a good system for anyone that wants to lose weight that works great.
It involves regular exercise, lots of water, and the most importantly: Cocaine.
I consistently exercise, drink plenty of water, but can’t lose weight…I may have to try the cocaine.
Consume fewer calories than you burn.
In all honesty I need to cut out some of the empty booze calories…but I like it.
Drinking booze makes it hard to lose weight, that’s for sure. Beer is the hardest to burn off.
Yeah I’m the same, I am in decent health overall, a bit doughier than I would like around the midsection but I ain’t giving up beer for a 6 pack again, plus my wife is still willing to bang me so as long as that is the case I’ll continue my current diet/not exercising regimen.

I ran that half marathon in Duluth, and I had only been running once every 2-3 weeks. I was hurting at about mile 10. I did okay up until then, but then I started feeling it. I cussed at myself the entire last half mile.

I like to rest a day between runs, those are my lifting days. I like to have a balance. I know a lot of runners like to run daily, but they usually are the ones who have problems with their joints/feet/etc.
I think the rest day does a ton in keeping you healthier. Just my two cents, which is worth less than a penny with inflation and all.
Normally, that is how I do it, too. The every-day run is an interesting experiment, though.

The first seven were progressively worse than the one before, but then it got better.
The worst part is actually the feel of a snotty mask rubbing on your face the whole time. I try to run outside as much as possible.
I did a few days in a row last week, I noticed that my distance decreased. Once I got back to every other day, my distance increased again. I’m trying to work up to longer runs again, I’m doing about 5.5 miles right now. I go to the track at the gym at lunch & run until I feel like I need to stop, do my cool down & stop. My first day or two, I was running maybe 2 or 2 & a half.
I’ve only been back in the groove for 3 weeks now, and I’m running longer almost every time (except last week). I keep my phone with me to track my distance. I have a Garmin at home, but I have to find it, haven’t used it since 2014.
Back in my early to mid 30s, I ran 10.5 miles a couple of times….never ran a half marathon though…
Last year was my third half marathon, but my first since 2012. I might do another, I’m starting to enjoy running again now that I’ve gotten back into it, I look forward to running time.

That was human bastardization of things that shouldn’t have been messed with. Wild turkeys are horrible as designed. Humans got involved in that one. What kind of fat is added to turkey meat to make sausage? It can’t be turkey fat because there isn’t any but there has to be something. I actually don’t know but something has to be added. If they were meant to be made into sausage, they would have the necessary ingredients.
I prefer pork sausage of course, but turkey sausage is really good too, I also much prefer sausage patties over bacon on my breakfast sandwich, though both is by far the best. Also ground turkey like as a substitute for ground beef is complete rubbish.

Caramel rolls, too. There’s a place in town here called Little Cottage Cafe, they have caramel rolls the size of a small cake, things are friggin’ awesome.
Toby’s in Hinkley used to make fantastic cinnamon rolls and caramel rolls.
Not sure if they are still any good, it has been a few decades since I have been there.
If you ever go through St. Peter, MN, try the Diamond Dust Bakery. They are basically a gourmet bakery. Once I had one of their donuts, I have not been able to take other donuts seriously. Although I do still like the Dunkin apple spice donut.
On the west coast they have never heard of caramel rolls…only cinnamon rolls, pore bastards….
There’s a college hangout at State College, PA that serves a Burnt Sticky. They actually fry a caramel roll in a pan. It was pretty awesome.

There was a 4 year period where my son did youth travel basketball, travel baseball, and USA Swimming…we spent 12 to 16 weekends a year in hotels. We stayed at the 80 dollar hotels rather than the 150 dollar ones..Hampton Inn was a treat.
Family owned Motels are typically cheaper, that’s where my dad, brother, and I stayed when travelling around the state for wrestling tournaments growing up, usually a good hole in the wall family owned diner next door or across the street for breakfast too.

Yeah, I agree. When we worked on the construction crew, those were high end. The breakfast was the best.
There’s one in town here that’s fairly nice, recently renovated and has a mini-water park with a couple slides. Kiddo and I stay there once in a while to swim.
We met my parents there for a weekend a couple of years ago. It wasn’t too bad. There’s a hotel in Dickinson with a little waterpark as well that isn’t bad and is actually pretty cheap that we’ve stayed at a couple of times.
Yeah, we’ve stayed at that one in Dickinson, too. There’s also a great one in Jamestown at the Fairfield. We’re actually staying there on Friday. Taking kiddo to the monster trucks on Saturday in Fargo. Trying to surprise him, he doesn’t know we’re going yet. At least I don’t think he knows. We go here every year because it’s right around his birthday, and every year, I surprise him, but it’s getting harder now that he’s older.

There’s a REALLY trashy hotel in Fargo, I can’t remember the name. It’s just off interstate 94 on the west side of I-29. Used to be a Ramada, now it’s owned by someone from the middle east. Pretty rough joint.
I have stayed in that Dickinson one, thats just fine.
I never cared for Dickinson, depending on the route there I’d rather stay in Medora or Bowman, hell I’d rather stay in Belfield.
With little kids the water park is good and it’s a mid point to meet my parents for a weekend or a good stopping point on the trip home. Oh, and they have a Sanfords.

Yep. There’s one in Cheyenne and two in Casper as well. Cardiac Arrest burger and some Jalapeno Hubcaps are amazing. They are shortly followed by actual cardiac arrest but it is worth it.
Yeah, I grew up 10 minutes from Spearfish so went there a lot, I have fam in Gillette so we usually went there when visiting, great burger joint.

Yeah, it wasn’t as bad back in the 90s when my brother and his fam moved there. His wife makes a very good living as a teacher though and they will get the hell out of there as soon as she retires here in a few years when she turns like 48.
I have stayed at the Bowman hotel…I prefer Dickinson but to each his own.
Which one? I know its a small town, but the do have several, though if I needed to be in the Bowman for something I’d probably stay over in Baker MT, the hotel there I stayed it was good and had a nice diner attached.

Funny, Dickinson is our closest “big town” with a Menards and Walmart, easy 90 minute drive on the interstate. Fancy restaurants as well like McDonalds and A&W. They even have a Papa Murphys. I have never seen a reason to dislike Dickinson. Bowman is in the middle of nowhere.
I just never liked Dickinson, my brother lived there a few years and I thought it sucked, but I also lived where there were things like Hardees, Pizza Hut, and McD’s. If coming from the south and headed toward Dickinson Bowman isn’t in the middle of nowhere.
I’ve never stayed in one that had a mini water park, that’s actually decent. Usually when I have stayed there I see mold in the bathroom and it smells like butt.
