Super Bowl XVII
Heck of a game yesterday for Super Bowl XLVII, as the Chiefs and Eagles battled to the end. When Mahomes seemed to re-aggravate that ankle injury when the Chiefs were already down in the first half, link courtesy of USA Today, I thought it was over. Mahomes looked hurt, but came back in and helped the Chiefs come back after being down for much of the game. The Eagles seemed to be the stronger team at first, but they couldn’t put the Chiefs away. The Chiefs offense eventually overpowered the Eagles defense, and the Chiefs defense eventually figured out how to get a couple of stops, and Butker hit the game winner with 11 seconds left in the game. Hurts Pondered a hail mary attempt at the end. Final score was 38-35.
On that final field goal drive, on a 3rd and 8, there was a questionable call. I can see the call being made, as the defender seemed to impede the WR from running his route by grabbing him. You can make the argument that if the defender hadn’t grabbed the WR, then the WR could have made the catch. I can also see them not throwing a flag on that play. That wasn’t the only questionable call. The Eagles had one go their way as well, as an Eagles catch and fumble, which resulted in a Chiefs defensive TD, was overturned and called an incomplete catch. I could also see that call going either way. Other than that, the officiating was moderately decent.
Vikings Off-Season
The rest of the NFL is now officially in the off-season. We’ll have some brief busy news periods, such as the free agent period, coupled with long periods of very little news. Together, we shall endure. Hey, has anyone else not started shopping for Valentine’s Day yet? Oh good, me either. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I still have lots of time. She’s laid up, recovering from her rotator cuff surgery, so she can’t really go anywhere or do anything. I get out of the meal thing and everything this year. Well, I’m sure there’s some sort of rain check situation that I’ll be subjected to at some point, but for now, I’m in the clear.

I think this draft, along with the FA period we’re already expecting to be disappointment, will be so limited with the resources that most will pan it immediately. Doing the mocks It’s so difficult to move around to acquire picks, add talent and address the holes we have. Going to be a long offseason I fear.

I just had an oops. Running around Minneapolis for doctor appointments. Had to strip. Got dressed and just wanted to escape all the shame and go home. Leave the room. Start walking out.
Doctor calls out. “Uhm…think you forgot something.”
Oh crap. Right away I know what he is talking about. I go back and there sits my Glock on the chair. Glad it got spotted while I was still there and the doc was cool…
