As noted, today is Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is a day that was created by Hallmark many years ago so that they could get shlubs like us to buy cards. I’m pretty sure that’s accurate, I think fil told me that one time, so it has to be true. The fact that this ploy continues to work makes me sad, yet here I am, buying into the hysteria. Sigh. Why isn’t there ever a holiday where there are no obligations? No presents to buy, no dinners to attend, no nothing, just a nice day off. It’s a heck of an idea, yet it will continue to be ignored by the authorities.

What is the deal with all these Yellowstone memes going around? I’ve never seen it but pretty sure some of you have. I had the impression it was basically a western with old fashioned values, but the gist of the memes are that it has gone woke?
It’s the impact of modern society including golf clubs and McMansions on a legacy ranch in the Paradise Valley/Gallatin Valley region of Montana. Wolf reintroduction, Indian appropriation, urban expansion, vegans, etc.
It is somewhat entertaining, by no means accurate portrayal of the Californication of the Gallatin Valley.
Yep, the prequels aren’t bad and would be more like a western. 1886 was good until it started focusing on the daughter too much. 1923 has been good so far and is interesting to see how they show the modernification of the west (cars, electricity, etc) and the historic battles between cattlemen and sheepherders and miners.
I’m too poor to be subscribing to Paramount+. I just get the cheap seats version of Yellowstone.
I initially got it to watch Seal Team, which now seems over. After 1923 I will probably cancel that subscription.
I don’t subscribe to anything like that. My cable bill is ridiculous as it is. Mostly keep it for sports.

I don’t see Taylor Sheridan as the type to go all woke, but I could be wrong. The first couple of seasons were definitely better and had more action, but that is almost any show.

I have found national entertainment to be tiresome. They use the same tropes over and over and just copy each other.
I hate hate hate the Costner – Piper Perabo connection. I know plenty of ranchers and there ain’t a one that would, um, be with her character.
Yeah, that is quite the stretch, but there are lots of those. Somehow they are near Bozeman, but up to Wyoming (I figure this means their valley would have to be Paradise Valley) and they are also next to the Crow Reservation which is southeast of Billings. Oh, and somehow you can get away with murdering people constantly and as the Livestock Commissioner locking somebody under a cattle guard. I ignore all the inaccuracies and stretches and just enjoy the entertainment. That is a lot of why I enjoy the prequels better so far. 1883 was a one and done but good.
I watched an episode or two. Typical dumb Hollyweird gibberish, IMO. Saw no reason to watch any more of it.

Pretty cool, I think. They galvanize them and I ordered the 24″ footer model, so 12 inches goes in the ground (concrete) and the generator sits 2 feet off the ground. Keeps it dry and easier to service and less likely to get dirt and rodents in there.

I mean that would be great, but the “competitive rebuild” doesn’t mean anything if the Vikings just run it back with all the same players. Bringing back all the same players and expecting a different result is insanity, especially when those players are old and declining like most of the defense and Thielen, or just flat out suck.
I love the irony that the people that want to do the right things to build a SB team and actually get there are called doomers but the people that want to do the wrong things over and over are not doomers.

Im more concerned about the secondary. All our current DBs either suck or can’t play more than 3 games without getting hurt. Bynum sucks badly, Smith likely is back but is he fading?, and Cine to me likely won’t even start again leaving Bynum who sucks badly to continue to start.

They need dlinemen who can rush the passer, the only real pressure they got was from Hunter and Z Smith before he disappeared the second half of the season. They also don’t have any ILBs that are particularly good at blitzing.

Metellus looked better than Bynum when he played, we’ll see with Cine, he wasn’t getting on the field even before the injury so I wouldn’t expect much from him this season after the injury. Smith was still useful last season but how much longer before he falls off a cliff? The roster on D is a mess of of either meh, sucks, old, expensive, or inconsistent.
Flores loves a safety that can blitz. Smith 100% around. Not sold on Mettlus. He’s good in a pinch but can’t play a whole season.
Safety is a big problem and DBs. KAM gonna have to waste two picks on another safety and DB

I remember when an elite defense carried Trent Dilfer to a Super Bowl, he was a shitty quarterback.

I made ribs 3 different ways. One is Korean BBQ and I made a hoisin based sauce for it, one is honey smoked habenero with spicy honey bbq sauce, and the ones I had to cut in half because I soaked them on pineapple juice all day. Then used Sriracha as the binder and a carribean jerk rub with a homemade Honey Sriracha sauce. All turned out amazing. The more traditional ones and the Sriracha Jerk were my favorites but some guests liked the Korean BBQ best.

Yes, she is has done some really cool things actually. Told me to pick out the acoustic I wanted for my Birthday and no joke like a few weeks later a buddy of mine was unloading his much nicer acoustic than I was looking at. It was more than the price range I originally told her but he was giving a good deal on it. She was like, absolutely, get it, I’ll pay for it. She understands I am very picky when it comes to the things I want like my instruments and whisky so she just lets me pick it which I would prefer. She has also set up scavenger hunts in the house too. Love that girl.

No, they expected Dalvin to gain about 200 more yards based on the teams performance to meet expectation. I would expect something is done about his compensation or employment status.
I saw way too many runs right into the defense or screens that failed miserably.
Not smart enough to know who is to blame for that.
I doubt that they are either.
No doubt Cooks gets part of that Blame Pie but don’t know if is the largest part.
My understanding of this is that they grade each run on where he should have gone and how many yards he missed out on. Lots of stuffed runs last season, and this actually meshes with what other metrics show, that the oline was decent run blocking but Cook for whatever reason was horribly inefficient, he also seemed to me like he went down at the slightest contact last year.
It is an Art not a Science.

It is. Personally, I don’t really care whether the team markets it’s product or the NFL does it.
But each NFL owner likely wants control of their own marketing and licensing of products.
I don’t believe the NFL should be exempt from anti-trust law.
It would totally upend pro sports. Teams would be able to do their own merchandising and broadcast contracts. Or at least, that’s the potential fallout from the decision.
Compared to the fallout from their decision to grant the NFL exemption from anti-trust law?

And I’d say batting 50%. Daunte was the right choice, so was Teddy. Tavaris was terrible and Ponder even worse. Ponder was the definition of a reach.
I’m going with 32.5%. Even if Teddy didn’t blow up his knee, I’m not sold that he would have been our savior.
I would have liked Jevon Kearse instead of Culpepper. We had Randy Moss. He even made Todd Bouman serviceable.
I liked Tavaris, but he was limited. Same with Ponder. I think Ponder gave it his all, but he was overmatched. Teddy has also proven himself bland.
So in the end, Culpepper was probably the best…and he had Moss, so I’m not sold on him either.

I usually do, but this year she did it herself. She is practical (she got them at Aldi) and knows that I would spend a lot more for the flowers than she would. She is a special lady.

Peterson is not a fit in a man heavy scheme, I’m not 100% sure on all the rest but Peters can play man coverage. I’d look at Sutton and Ya-Sin, they are 27 and 26 years old.
What about Peters on a 1 or 2 year deal? I also added Needham since he’s played for Flores already. I know nothing about him though.
Maybe, I would worry a bit about his age and injuries the last couple years

No thanks, if you think Kirk holds the ball too long, takes too many sacks, and fumbles too much (I’m not saying specifically you but it has been a fair criticism of Kirk at times) take a look at Fields…
Fields has started 25 games in his career and has been sacked 91 times, which at that rate would be 62 sacks in a full season. Kirk took the most sacks in his career this year at 46 and played all 17 games.
Now lets look at the fumbles. In 25 career games Fields has fumbled a whopping 28 times, losing 16 of them, yes that’s right, on average he fumbles at least once every game. Kirk has had issues with fumbling at times in his career but not to that level. Fields also has 21 picks in his 25 career games and is responsible for 37 total turnovers in 25 games.
To summarize, Fields has some elite physical tools but holds the ball forever, has bad pocket awareness, and horrible ball security. It is exactly why I never thought he’d be an elite QB coming out of college.

I just tell my wife the truth. Last night she made some sort of Indian food and asked what I thought. I told her directly, “Its edible, not my favorite but if you cooked it again I’d eat it.” She made some sloppy joes a few months ago apparently using Freezey’s wife’s recipe and I told her flat out, “I don’t like this recipe, green peppers do not belong in Sloppy Joes.”
Also, I do not listen to/watch the media selections if I don’t know who/what they are so I skipped it.
I eat damn near anything, hardly ever complain. I’m easy. She knows not to put too much cheese on anything, because it’s gross, and mayonnaise is the devil’s semen. Other than that, I’m really not picky at all.
I do most of the cooking, so I can do whatever I want (within reason).
