I worked from home yesterday, as we were digging out of our latest blizzard. Kiddo and I went sledding for a bit, and I gave the snowblower a good workout. Back to normal life today, sigh. Hey, a little news yesterday, as the players union surveyed 1,100 players and the results showed that the Vikings were graded highest out of all the NFL teams. The Cardinals and Commanders did not do well in the survey. Yikes, those two teams may want to make some changes.

The worst. My ex-In Laws in Arizona put up like a canopy over their outdoor table and chairs and it barely was higher than their fence line. They promptly got a letter stating they didn’t ask for permission to put that up and need to take it down and put in a request and if approved they can put it back up. Fuck that.
So Lifer, you noted that my wife’s cat is shall we say… “portly” yesterday. Yes he is overweight by a good amount. When we got him as a kitten (about 4 or 5 months old) he had been abandoned “in the wild” and was in bad shape and very malnourished. She rectified that to the extreme. The vet weighed him in December and he tipped the scales at 28.8 lbs. The vet convinced my wife this was not good and placed him on a diet which my wife has stuck to. Cats do not lose weight quickly though (or so I’m told) so it looks to me that since December, he’s down about 2 lbs. Over the next year we want to get him down to around 15 to 18 pounds.
BTW… these are the Christmas kitties we picked up from the shelter for her. They like watching TV.

The Teacher has Asthma, she is surrounded every day by 1st Grade Germ Factories.
She could not teach 25 kids to read (plus additional drama as mentioned before) and try to make them all wear their masks properly when it was required, it’s like herding cats.
The parents send them to school even when they are sick (it is free babysitting after all) and Admin/Nurse will not enforce the rule when she sends coughing/sneezing/snot nosed kids to them.
She is surrounded by Positive CoVid/Colds/Pneumonia/RSV/Bronchitis/ect. She tests 2x a week, more often when she has had a close contact.
I am fully Vax-ed and maintain social distance, not so much because I am worried for myself but I don’t want to add to her risks.
So comparing her situation in Crazy/Calif to Save/Sane Minot is not fair.
We are trying to make smart medical decisions that make sense for us until we can get out of this place/situation.

We have no legit WRs outside of JJ. KJ and Thielen ( who will probably be gone) are WR3s -4s on actually high powered offenses. We still have no legit Guards or centers on the roster. I have another root canal appointment in a week. This tooth pain is not fun.
My root canal didn’t work. The tooth was cracked vertically, so I have to get it pulled. While in there, they are going to pull another one, too.

I have two pulled, too. I can officially live in Arkansas if I get a few more pulled.
I’m still trying to decide on the fix. Implants are going to run about $8000. I think I’m going to go bridge, though. Implants just go in the same spot, but a bridge would shape the teeth on either side slightly, as well, into a slightly improved state.
Plus bridges are less.
Or maybe I will leave them be. It is all teeth near the back. Nothing visible. Will have to chat with doctor more today before she sedates me and poses me in funny positions while I’m out.

Can’t imagine two trains full speed head on the amount of force and impact that had. Those engineers had to be horrified in their final moments. One would think there would be systems in place to alert two trains are on the same track heading toward each other.
Looks like there were numerous failures on the part of the transportation department that runs the trains. They charged someone, but it sounds like it went far beyond one human error. Sad.
