It’s the calm before the storm. We’re in a bit of a slow news cycle just prior to the legal tampering period and then the news explosion that will come on March 15th when free agency begins. I’m excited for the new league year, as I think we’re going to see a near-overhaul of the Vikings defense. We’ve seen one piece fall, and I have a feeling that there will be much more to come.

I saw one of these Viking rubes on twitter claim that the Vikings have $100 mill in cap space in 2024. Now I took a look at it and it looked like $40ish mill to me but maybe I’m missing something. I keep seeing that being said on social media so maybe there’s some truth to it based on how Brez has worked the cap. Take a look at it and give me your two cents. Mick is pretty good at the cap crap also.

Some of that must be earmarked for Thielen and Harrison Smith possibly voiding out, but there’s more than enough space to give Jefferson the mega-deal he deserves.

Yup. I was the third one there.
True story, when I was an intern, if you were on the internal medicine day service or night service you were designated the “code captain” and wore this garish red placard designating you as such. The idea being that all the other staff knew who was giving the orders. One thing I learned early on is you never wanted to be on the scene too early because things instantly become chaotic and you end up ripping open crash carts, doing compressions or some such thing. Better to roll in after about two minutes have gone by so the dust has settled somewhat and people are getting into their rolls, chest compression, ventilating, medications, monitor, scribe, etc.
In the big hospital even if there is a code in radiology it is usually far enough from the reading areas that you are late to the party and everyone ignores you anyhow.
Being so fast on the scene it was chaos, like being at the center of a black hole where people are filling the room to capacity and everyone is yelling. I assigned someone to give compressions, someone to ventilate and someone to find an AED. No code captain etc. Heard things like that AED is a piece of shit, did you get any images of the heart, where is the mask, what happened, is she breathing, etc. As quickly as I could I backed away to the corner.

LOL the PA from the ED came down after and told the rad staff not to grab the AED, it sucks and it’s better to transport patient up to ED to use a dedicated defibrillator. Oh and she said that it only takes them three minutes to get here so they shouldn’t be taking orders from the radiologist, he is good at looking at pictures but we’re good at running codes. Heheee classic. I just said:

He’s pretty mopey about it (five and kodiak would say why?) but does perk up about a couple of prospects. One is the friend of a gal that his buddy met at the airport, the story being his buddy met this girl a month ago in the airport who lives in the subs of T.O. they have been talking every night and they are planning to meet in Nashville for a long weekend and she will bring the friend along. Hooking up with a Canadian you briefly met in an airport sounds like the plot of a murderous love triangle movie. The other gal (edit to say this is the second prospect, not the friend of prospect 1) actually works in PR at your parent company in Bis.

When I got sober in 2007, I set a one-year hiatus on myself for dating. I actually went more than 3 years. When I did finally go on a date, I met my wife, and the rest is history. Been married almost 12 years now.
Yeah, he needs to get his social life/drinking life in a more normal frame of things. He says every time a sales company comes around that they buy pipeline equipment/pumps from the sales guy takes them out for all expenses paid booze o ramas. Quite different than a sales meeting with a MRI machine rep. Sometimes they give me a pen, usually just a card.
Yeah, some jobs tend to operate that way. Mine does, I just choose not to join in the booze part. I normally wind up doing the driving on business trips anyway.
Not easy being alone after 6 years, I guess. Might find out myself soon how exactly that feels. Well, such is life.

I think I’d kill it dating if I was ever in the single scene again. Not because I’m that incredible, but now that I’m married, I have lost all fear of women and know the horrible truth of their essence.

So now, if I was single and saw a girl I was interested in, I’d walk right up to her and conversate, and if she rejected me, I’d shrug and go talk to the next one.
I’m trying to instill this attitude in younger guys I know. Just go talk to them, guys. If it goes weird, it goes weird. You’re not going to mesh with every person you meet, male or female, romantic or friendship, in life.
One thing we all talk about in your absence is how you lack self confidence haha. I will agree that I see no need anymore to wonder how to failsafe impress her with a witty line or such. For me it would be more about how you get from that point of I like you you like me to knowing whether she’s a messy housekeeper, a hoarder, suffers from chronic delusions or mood swings, etc…

I had about 12,000 in cash once but it was just a quick withdraw at one bank to buy staff gift cards at another bank…probably didn’t have it for more than 30 minutes.
Being 100% honest I doubt I’ve ever had more than $250. One of my oddities is I hate carrying cash and for that matter never have my wallet when I go to work, etc…sometimes I’m asked what I would do if I get pulled over on the way to work and my answer is why would I get pulled over? I never speed.
I keep a twenty in my lunch box for those times the techs are ordering out something particularly delicious sounding but I’m not that rad that says let’s do lunch my treat. Instead I lavish gifts at tech week and Christmas.
My wife periodically restocks my wallet $100 at a time and then gradually withdraws from it if I haven’t already spent it on something we were shopping for. She teases me about that.
My stepson routinely has a roll of about $1000. Freaks me out.

Had an EGD done yesterday, been having some stomach issues. They found a hiatal hernia (no clue what it is), but not much else.
They told me to cut out spicy foods, caffeine, ice cream, chocolate, mint, and all kinds of other things. WTF? That’s basically my entire diet.

I have had one of those H. hernias my whole life…developed some bad acid reflux as I got older…I took omeprazole on and off for a few years.
However, after I went on a CPAP machine the acid reflux stuff 100 percent stopped. Shouldn’t be related but clearly is.

My wife is always coming up with things I need to tell my doctor when I have my annual. Real topics of concern include how much gas I have, how many moles I have, that I have a prominent vein on my forehead once in awhile.
As a dutiful husband I have brought up these topics.
I come home, she asks what he said, I say he said you’re fine.
She then suggests I need a new doctor.
This has happened despite the fact that I have seen three different doctors since coming back to Montana (as they have moved).

I did a breast biopsy on a nice older lady. There was clearly a big mass in there (turned out to be badness I just found out). She said she noticed this lump, decided she would wait until she saw her dermatologist the next week and ask about it. The dermatologist told her it was a prominent bone.
Which goes to show you shouldn’t ask a radiologist about the pimple on your ass.

He is allowed to continue to seek offers from other teams, so technically, he’s a free agent, it just costs two firsts to sign him.
He’s not a free agent, if he were he would be able to just sign with a team no strings attached. He’s actually currently under contract right now until the new league year and can’t actually negotiate until it starts.
Well, no shit, he has to wait for the new league year, as does everyone. He’s obviously not a free agent, but is free to speak with other teams just like a free agent is able to. He’s free to talk to other teams & listen to offers. On March 15th at 3:00 American time, he can sign any offer that is more than the $32 million that Baltimore has placed on him.
He nor his agent can contact or have discussions with other teams until March 15 so no, he isn’t free to speak with other teams, at least not legitimately. We all know agents and teams talk even they aren’t supposed to.

Out of the whiteout snow blasting off the blade comes the snout of a semi – a double fuel tanker. I put my right tires into the ditch and for the next thirty seconds it was like someone was snowblasting my Vulva, couldn’t see anything but heard the whoosh of the truck going by and then the plow. Finally out of the whiteout I see about a half dozen other semis trailing the plow.
