Minnesota Vikings News:
WR Odell Beckham Jr. has signed with the Ravens on a one-year deal worth up to $18 million, per NFL.com.
CBS Sports looks at the top 3 available free agents at every position.
C’est la vie… great special teams guy… decent player.
Dwayne Haskins was drugged on the night of his death as part of an alleged “blackmail and robbery conspiracy” against the former NFL quarterback, according to a lawsuit filed by his family.

Hate to say it, but this reads like a personal injury lawyer looking to get paid.
Tiger had to withdraw from the Masters due to a flare up of his plantar fasciitis. Anybody think he will be at Oak Hill for the PGA Championship at the end of May? Month and a half away.
Should be. TBH I have a real problem with him continually getting in tournaments playing until he’s out of it then withdrawing. He’s taking a spot from another player who could possibly make the cut and finish. I don’t care who he is, he shouldn’t keep doing this if he can’t finish.
Has the left blamed Trump for the bank shooting yet or just the guns?
Yes.
But I blame Ponder.
Sad vikes didn’t land OBJ.. was a long shot at best anyways with no money.
Interesting he signed with Ravens given the Lamar drama. He got 15 mil though so maybe that’s why
15 mil for an old injured ramen noodle haired headcase is ridiculous.
Yes, Skolly Dum Dum
🙂
Agreed.
@@ But he’s still better than Kirk, right? @@
probably
LOL
LOL, Mick and Lifer said he’d be the best QB in that draft.
@ If only been drafted by a team that had a history of developing a great QB. @
LOL, yeah, got put in the best spot to succeed right away, seems to have alienated the NE franchise though.
He showed 100% he is a good QB. He had some great games. Got hurt and the Patriots suck ass. He is a good QB, maybe not better than Lawrence could still be and was the first year. So suck it fool.
Lol, he’s very meh
True but he could develop. As far as this class of qbs…maybe the top two…the rest are pretenders.
I do like him better than fields though, that guy is a turnover machine
Ya I was not a fan of him. Rick did us a solid and passed on that.
I didn’t hate him, but there is literally nothing special about him.
Off today catching up on stuff. What I miss?
Nice go Lakers!
Looks like some awesome team chemistry there. They should talk to Kwesi and Kevin and learn how to be more collaborative.
Incense sticks. And much Kumbaya.
I like how the gals with courtside seats off to the right of the player bench (left side of video) are just chatting away paying no attention to the players.
The point of having that much money is to not give a shit about anything, but still be there in the best seats.
LOL, yeah one of them is the owner’s wife sitting next to the owner
I see the Timberwolves decided to implode. Gobert threw a punch at a teammate and McDaniel threw a punch at a wall and broke his hand.
Finchy has to go…if you can’t control your players you have to move on.
My prediction is they lose these 2 “play-in’ games and mercifully end the season.
Tis a result of the players running the teams and a major reason I don’t watch NBA games any longer.
I used to watch the heck out of the NBA, but I walked away and haven’t watched a game in years and years.
It’s too bad. That was a god-tier sport in the 80s and 90s. Once Tim Duncan left, that’s about when I gave up on it, too.
I see there was a shooting in Kentucky, I think we should pass a law that crazy people can’t have guns.
add in criminals and the problem is fixed.
They could make it illegal to shoot people too.
Unless they were criminals, you know the self defense thing.
Self defense won’t be an issue or needed if you simply tell people not to break the rules. I’m guessing there wasn’t a gun free zone sign at the bank. If they would have just had one of those on the door the shooter would have saw it, thought dang, and went home.
good point.
Yes!!! We need more gun free zone signs!
Such a cheap and effective solution.
Absolutely. It has been proven by countless studies done by expertly educated experts that gun free zone signs prevent shootings everywhere.
Unless you are in Texas, then apparently it is illegal to shoot someone in self defense.
@ Stahp the crazy talk. @
@ How dare you. @
LOL
Don’t forget the huge, scary 5.56 mm.
Hollywood loves to showcase the AR style automatic being deployed in bank robberies and such but miraculously a car door, park bench or couch stops 100s of rounds of 5.56 or 7.62.
The 5.56, a round that can’t go through a car door but is so powerful it will literally blow your heart and lungs out of your body.
What would you use 5.56 mm for, if at all?
It’s a good predator caliber. I have a 22-250 for coyote hunting and prairie dogs. I’ve shot a couple deer with it and it was sufficient. I still don’t get why the military switched to a 22 caliber over the 30s.
I have to look it up for sure…but I think it’s a Geneva Convention thing in combination with a NATO agreement on the caliber.
It’s been nearly 30 years since I was active duty, but I think I remember the smaller caliber is intended to wound vs kill, so it causes the enemy to dedicate some of their forces to care for their wounded rather than continue trying to kill us.
That sounds like horrible logic to me, but I’m no military expert.
I could just be mixing up the scene in Full Metal Jacket where the sniper wounded Eightball, then started picking off the others as they tried to help him…….
https://www.wearethemighty.com/popular/762-to-5-56-rounds/
It was mostly about using a lighter, less expensive round.
That makes sense I guess. Less recoil means more accurate follow up shots too but I would still rather have a 28 or 30 caliber.
The military does not want to kill the enemy, just wound them. If you kill the enemy you take one person out of the battle. If you wound somebody you take 2-3 people out of the battle.
(I’ve never been in combat nor served in the military) Isn’t it more likely that foot soldiers are “throwing lead” most of the time vs. truly having time to aim and fire at a target (the enemy)?
You carry a combat load of 200 rounds. You don’t waste them just spraying them around. Conserving ammo is just about the most important thing you need to do in combat. If I pull the trigger twice, somebody is dead.
I hope you’re being sarcastic..a 5.56 will easily go through an entire car body and anyone inside, its made to be small, fast and to penetrate. A .22 will go through most car doors.
@ You mean the 0.2188976 inch! @
Yes.
I know, the Europeans had to dumb stuff down to multiples of ten because math is too hard.
Well Math IS hard. Why not make it easier? To each their own, I guess…
I Kid….of course the metric system is superior.
But our measurement system is too ingrained in our culture to change now….60 feet 6 inches, football field 100 yards long….etc.
I guess it would be almost impossible to change everything to the metric system over there. Not necessary as well, if one moves to the US one just has to learn the system that is used over there.
That’s what I had to do when switching from SI units to the conventional units in the lab when moving from Canada to the US. Was weird at first but now I intrinsically think in the conventional units. Like a cholesterol of 5.18 mmol/L means nothing to me whereas a cholesterol of 200 mg/dL is second nature.
Although in rads everything is measured in mm/cm, or mL/L. Would be weird to say the patient lost a half gallon of blood or the fetus head circumference is seven inches.
The medical field primarily uses Metric, correct?
FTMP but most laboratory analytical levels are not in SI units. Also things like baby weight and length typically translated to pounds and inches.
A couple of things that drive me nuts…people love to use some more archaic terms in the belief it sounds impressive. Like using the word dilatation instead of dilation. Ugh.
Also, there is a mish mash of SI units and non SI units in hematology. Even during my time in Canada a normal hemoglobin level was 14-18 g/dL although the SI units are mmol/L. A normal platelet count is 140-440 x 10e9/L, that’s how it appears on your EMR, but physician love to translate that into platelets per microliter, or 140 000 – 440 000. I think saying thousand makes you sound retarded. I say, the patient needs to have a platelet count of greater than 50 before I will biopsy their liver and I get the “only 50! why their platelet count is 21 000” UGH UGH.
I have actually noticed that when trying to research my own lab results…there seems to be some floating back and forth in how things are presented, Some leave the ‘thousands’ on the end and some references don’t…it makes it confusing for a rube like me.
Irregardless of that, they may be right.

What if the King’s foot was 13 inches long?!
I know, right?
The 100 yard football field would be 300 inches longer!
That would be 25 feet longer using the 12 inch standard or 23 feet longer using the 13 inch standard.
And what if we had 12 fingers (and toes) instead of 10??!!
A few more stock days like this and I will be as broke as Lifer.
Just do indexes. Although LFA said the DJIA would fall below 20K so maybe I should put my money in a sock.
TBH I kept a lot of money on the sidelines the last 18 months. It sits in an American Express savings account. 4.25% interest or something like that and FDIC insured.
Nice!
I changed some allocations and moved bond funds (ordinary income) into my tax sheltered funds but otherwise have stayed the course.
Will always be the most “edge of my seat” moment in a movie theater.
Trying to figure out when to go back in with both feet. Might be the end of the summer. Sell in May and go away.
Watched Empire Strikes Back yesterday.
I waited in line with my Dad for tickets at the old Southtown Cinema when that came out. They had an Asteroids machine in the lobby.
We played that game for over an hour. Sat in the front row and I got motion sickness during the Hoth scene. Still a fun movie, and my favorite of the original 3.
Did you think he’d miss??
I thought these Y wing bombers (cuz bomb is in the name) were the only chance the Rebels had to destroy the Death Star. I didn’t know the tie fighters had bombs as well. So poor Vander and his two wingmen were getting rolled up by Darth Vader and I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the bomb/torpedo to enter the exhaust port.
Sponsor a poor Lib today
That’s awesome.
That is great, and Lifer is in it.
The B Bee is awesome. Rec!
😂
Question for you football geniuses on here. I could look up the answer but that would be boring.
Lots of talk on here about drafting a rookie and letting him develop/ferment for a year behind the starter (Cousins). Like a butterfly developing from a chrysalis in 2024 he emerges the heir apparent for league MVP.
Of course I know Rodgers development arc thanks to Favre and the rivalry. My question is how many of the top 5 QB’s of the last decade or so (say Allen Mahomes Burrows Hurts Herbert) followed that menu?
The number is more that zero, so worth the shot and worth moving on from Kirk.
Coworker is a FTP fan, and I found an email from him from 2018.
“Kirk Cousins is good enough to keep the Vikings drafting mid to late each year, but never winning a championship. We are thrilled and hope he stays there for years”
If wishes and dreams were peaches and cream we’d get such a guy without giving up draft capital this year…but methinks the Vikings record and draft spot will be the polar opposite of last season and wouldn’t mind if the team just waited a year to go for the QBOTF.
KAM has proven that he is perfectly willing to make a (bad) trade that he thinks proves he is smarter than everyone else.
@ Which is unlike every other GM in the NFL. @
(I very much this this)
Only Mahomes.
Mahomes was also very good from the time he became the starter. The others took a couple years to develop, and I’m still not sold on Allen being elite, as a QB. He is an elite athlete, but he still makes some really stupid decisions. I don’t see the chargers that often so I am not sure why they still struggle with Herbert.
Burrows also got to sit a year, although it was due to injury. He still got the year to acclimate to the NFL, before being thrown to the wolves.
The Chargers struggle because their HC is a moron.
But wasn’t he a McVay genius as well?
He does stupid shit like go for it on 4th and 20 in the first half from the 30 yard line or take a time out when the other team is obviously just letting the clock run out in OT which would mean both teams go to the playoffs.
Or goes for the win when all he needs is a tie, to make the postseason
Burrow started day one and played 10 games before injury. The last guy I can think of before Mahomes who sat for a full season and played at a high level immediately was Daunte.
If they got a Hooker it would make more sense as he wouldn’t need to rush back from injury.
Additional time in the QB room would not be a bad thing either.
Mahomes started 1 game his rookie year. He won MVP the next.
Jalen Hurts wasn’t the starter his rookie year and played well Year 2 and went to the Super Bowl Year 3. Wentz started the first 12 games. They only let Hurts in when they were out of contention.
Hurts kinda fits. He started 4 games his rookie season because of injuries to the veterans in front of him on the roster. He sat 3/4 of a season before being the full-time starter his 2nd season. (I also see him as a top 6-10 ranked QB. He’s had an elite o-line that give him time and comfort to make plays. I think he takes a big step back as his o-line ages and leaves in free agency.)
Kirk sat as a rookie.
@So, is the Dali Lama looking to convert to Catholicism?@
He is behaving like a priest now.
Such a weird sight
Not weird behavior for a pedophile though
What happened?
Kissed a boy on the lips, after getting the boy to kiss him on the cheek.
Then asked to boy to suck on his tongue.
Probably planning on running on the Democratic ticket
Great line.
That’s weird, but Joe Biden approved.
Reminds me of a great Bill Murray line from Caddyshack: Carl Spackler : A looper, you know, a caddy, a looper, a jock. So, I tell them I’m a pro jock, and who do you think they give me? The Dalai Lama, himself. Twelfth son of the Lama. The flowing robes, the grace, bald… striking. So, I’m on the first tee with him. I give him the driver. He hauls off and whacks one – big hitter, the Lama – long, into a ten-thousand foot crevasse, right at the base of this glacier. Do you know what the Lama says? Gunga galunga… gunga, gunga-lagunga. So we finish the eighteenth and he’s gonna stiff me. And I say, “Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.” And he says, “Oh, uh, there won’t be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.” So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.
Great movie.

I’ve got a pool and a pond…the pond would be good for you.
Funny fact about the movie. It was shot and in the can, the actors all went home, they realized there wasn’t a single scene with Murray and Chase together in the whole movie.
So, they had the 2 of them come back to the set and they shot the scene where Chase hits his ball into Murray’s ……shack.
morning gentleman, I’m still off today
4 more days of two jobs.
down to one job just before the golf season.
I struggle with the golf thing. Sometimes I think I should dust off my clubs and play a round of whap-shit! but then there’s the money, waiting for the party in front of you, getting crowded by the party behind you, etc…then there’s all the other things I could be doing with my time, some constructive. Sigh.
Yeah, I am lucky enough that my wife is the driving force and wants to golf every weekend. It minimizes my “honey do” weekend list, and even a bad day golfing is way better than cleaning the garage.
We get a season pass, and it costs $1500 for unlimited golf for the season. For me that is worth it. On really crowded / slow days, we do sometimes just bail mid round.
I have my old man hobbies in full force. Getting better at smoking meat, and getting better at golfing.
I smoked 10 pounds of chicken wings on Saturday, as well as salmon and halibut fillets. Yum.
Yesterday went down to the stepson’s, had a chuck roast, scalloped potatoes/ham, green beans, a strawberry/pretzel “salad” we won in a cancer benefit auction, and a peanut buster parfait ice cream dessert we also won in the auction. Double yum.

PHYRE KWESI!!!
Ravens sign OBJ for $15 million.
Not sure what they are thinking???
There receivers either suck or are injured. OBJ helps with half of that, but he rarely makes it through a season without missing games himself.
yeah. Maybe it’s meant to entice Lamar.
This I think…
Stop in more
Good morning Skolholes, short week for me this week, yay.
Good morning Skoloholics.
SKOL and FTP!
Mickelson / Speith had 17 birdies in their final rd yesterday.
Rahm / Koepka had 7.
They didn’t show more than a few shots of Phil who finished 2nd and shot a 65 the lowest rd by a 50+ yr old in tourney history.
fuck cbs and the pga just corp hacks with a agenda to protect their money nut. I wish a LIV player would have won.
Yep, they gave a lot more TV time to that amateur (Bennett). A good story, but Phil’s story was one for the history books.
Nice, LOL!
If it were only about the money, wouldn’t showing Mickelson every step of the way led to higher ratings and more ad revenue???
Not for the PGA, no.
Wearing a Greg Norman shark logo shirt today.
although I do like Rahm. It was a good golf day.
Happens with every position especially QB’s. GFM…
No FIRST today?
Yep, a lot of teams will reach for one.
Let me ponder this…
I must admit, I was on the Blake Bortles bandwagon back during that draft. Boy was I wrong. Phyre me!
I told my friend(s) that Jags made a mistake drafting him, they didn’t believe me.
morans
Ahem cough cough Sloter cough cough cough
SLOTERGOAT!!!
@never got a chance@
In all seriousness, he is / was fun to watch. We would have the same number of championships if they had taken him vs overpriced average.
I’ll never understand how the Vikings utilized the guy. Kept him on the roster after Bradford Bridgewater Keenum departure but never gave him playing time, meanwhile ignoring trade offers.
I really think Wryck/Zim were a completely dysfunctional family the last few years. Probably since Kirk happened.
