Report came out today that the Vikings were willing to sell the farm (idk what it would have entailed) to move up for Young if Carolina did indeed pass on him for whatever reason. They want a new QB, but only on their terms, it looks messy, but I think there is a plan here, and it involves a very different looking team come 2024. Could be your guy you listed, could be someone else but they want THEIR QB. We will just have to wait and see. If the Vikings get to a bowl with Kirk, awesome, I would be ecstatic. I just have zero faith that that happens, its not even on my radar of thought. Its the equivalent of me having $100,000,000 in my bank account tomorrow morning. Not gonna happen.
I think you might be right on reading the tea leaves that they want “their QB”. Now that being said they’re being very conscientious shoppers. They’re not going to trade up from late rd 1 in to the top 4 picks to get a couple spots slider. That is just to risky with the amount of collateral needed to do it.
More likely they’re comfortable with 2024 or even 2025 getting some bargaining chips back with draft picks and cap space to then go hunting aggressively for a QB. I like the USC QB also but he’s a likely lottery pick at the top.

If we can keep his cap hit at or under (preferably under) $30mil a season and have as little dead money as possible, that would be the goal. I dont care if its fair to Kirk. 3 p.m. games and Sunday Night Game are my favorite time slots. I’ve kind of given up on watching noon games. When the sun sets at like 4:30, they take the whole day to get over with. Plus, now that YouTube exists, I don’t worry about missing anything. It’s all online immediately.

Sometimes I think I should get the NFL network and just watch the rewind games. Then there is something to watch on boring nights, and the games get over with quicker.

Getting over the hump…day…
When a 9 yr old girl is a better golfer than you is disheartening to say the least. Good for her.
Just a reminder that the game is more about technique and hand eye coordination vs size and strength. These youngsters learn proper technique early on and don’t need to unlearn decades of bad habits, like I have had to.
Shot 45 yesterday in my golf league w an 8 on one par 4. Pushed a solidly hit drive in the water and then proceeded to try a hero shot over the water vs just taking my punishment. Good drive makes a 41 likely and a smarter 3rd shot makes a 43 likely.

I was unimpressed with the Vikings draft. I did think they were fully prepared for the UDFA period immediately following the draft, signing guys left and right within minutes of the drafts conclusion.
Bottom line, I don’t think we really brought in enough quality defensive talent.
Yeah that article is a re-print of the same stuff that guy said immediately post draft. Vikings had limited draft capital to start with they weren’t going to have a eagles level result or even anything half as good. What this poverty writer fails to mention is how the Vikings had probably the best UDFA class which easily makes the entire draft more than acceptable.

I ended up doing about 34 years in the military (USAF). Now, just working as a contractor teaching combat tactics to young pilots. Keeps me young and in the game.
Yeah, I’ve only done 45 years (and counting) in the DoD. It does keep me active and stimulated though.
Assume you’re at Hurlburt Field in Navarre, working with the MC-130J crews? I know on April 2, the final MC-130H Combat Talon ll made its way to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, to retire.

I was at Hurlburt/Duke Field for a long time. I flew the MC-130E, Combat Talon I. Later on, I taught in the schoolhouse for the Talon II, now, I am working with the fighter community on Eglin AFB. It was sad watching the last of the Talon Is and Talon 2s go to the bone yard.

Actually, I work with a DoD level program, they just happened to place us at Eglin. We work with the USAF, Navy, Marines and Army aviation units for all kinds of tactics and weapons development.
