A bit of a slow day yesterday to kick off our week, but it’s that time of year. I found Darrisaw’s comments interesting (watched the interview). If you recall last year though, offensive players were saying the defense was hard to read, they lined up in similar positions but did different things post snap.
No one is going to say “well right now the defense isn’t that great, but I’m sure they’ll get better”. Of course if the defense IS a lot better this year, I’ll be very happy.

Took the PXG’s to the range a few minutes ago. Hit every club from the Pitching wedge to the 4 iron. Didn’t do anything different, just my normal swing. Hit them noticeably farther, and pretty straight. There were just aiming flags on the range, no yardage markers, but just eyeballing the flight of the ball I think I’m hitting every club at least 10 to 15 yards farther, without trying to hit the ball hard. I was just doing what I normally do, which is try to hit the sweet spot of the club. Last shot I hit with the 4 iron, I caught perfectly and it really took off. I estimate it went at least 185. Maybe longer.

It was kinda funny. I took the wedge out and hit it very nicely with the first swing, nice and high, nice and straight. Hit two more and then went to the 9 iron. Same, same. 8 iron, same, same. I was hitting the 6 iron when the guy next to me who was hitting his driver all over the place, said “how do you hit the ball so straight?” I said, “I have no idea”… then duffed two in a row… grin.
Sounds like they’ll work. It will be the 6, 5, 4, lower loft clubs they may give you consistency trouble due to the lofts and shafts being X-stiff. Won’t matter because that’s what 7 woods and hybrids are for! Glad they are working for you. As we thought 10-15 yards more which is you at age 50. You’re back baby…let’s go!

To be honest…its probably the 40 pounds of fat that I put on since I quit playing basketball that is the main issue with my golf swing….I played till I was 48 but the joints just couldn’t do it anymore….
Well I’m lucky there. I’m 6 feet tall and weigh 185. I have a 35 inch waist. Still fighting trim after all these years.
Yeah, things went downhill for me when I hit 48…trying to recover and making some progress…but good for you that you could stay trim through your entire adulthood!
My college FB playing weight was a lean 230…and I could stay in the 250 to 260 range while I was playing basketball…

So I watched a video on flat earthers the other day because they intrigue me. Some of their “proof” is a bit compelling, though incredibly incomplete and a bit shortsighted imo. However what was interesting was hearing Astrophysicists and even Psychologists discuss the logic of individuals and part of the “herd” mentality.
Like how some people who don’t have a place of their own jump into these groups solely to fit in and feel like they are part of group. How they quickly dismiss any idea that doesn’t align with theirs and try to not allow any contrary proof to be said (so it’s not debated).
This was completed in 2018 and I feel quite strongly that we have a new crop of people who are doing the EXACT same things in relation to some other topics. However the world and mainstream audibly laughs at flat earthers but can’t possibly speak to how this current trendy thing makes zero sense.
At least flat earthers have theories, designs and reasoned argument to their stance. Goofy as it may be they try to back it up. This other cult just screams that it’s true and anything to the contrary gets slammed with dramatic flash words.

And I read online season ticket holders list their tickets right after schedule release and jack up the prices to cash in ASAP. Prices drop as time goes on , and both teams will be meh. Too many question marks for the Vikings this season IMO. The O-line is STILL among the worst in the league after ten years of trying to fix it, but we have skill position players who are top shelf. The defense? No idea what it will look like this year. Our kicker? Will he suddenly stop missing extra points at a league high rate?

This is true. I hope the offense is much better this year (they regressed last year) and sets out to score a minimum of 5 TD’s every game. Just spot at 20 or 25 then. Keep some injuries out of game. Some kickers can kick very high, keep it short of EZ.
Eventually they won’t have kickoff’s at all. They’ll just spot the ball at the 25 to start the game, after the opposing team scores, etc.
That’s what they should do if they’re implementing stupid rules like this and cut 20 min off each game.

I honestly think KOC and KAM want to keep Dalvin and have told him that but also told him we’re not paying you anything close to $14 this season so take a cut down to $7-$8 (which he is worth that) or we cut you June 1st. Cook and his agent for the past 6 months didn’t have to do anything and see if the Vikings start to make adjustments for a post Cook offense.
The Vikings did, Re-signed Mattison and drafted McBride. So now Cook and his agent look to the market to see if a better deal is out there with another team. Miami could create space but they won’t create enough for Cooks current number. He’s likely talking to them and hearing the same number the Vikings are offering. Same thing he and his agent are seeing across the league. He isn’t getting $10+ straight up for 2023. He might get a 3 yr deal that adds up $15-$20 but he isn’t getting north of $7 a year from anyone.
So the question is, is he done with the Vikings because of them not paying him what he wants? Hard to say, probably so we’ll see.

They likely had a honest conversation with him back in Jan to where they stood and were upfront and honest with him. They put the ball in his court to do what’s best for him. He may think he’s worth more and they gave him the opportunity to check the market and find more if it’s out there. Once he finds it’s not, he won;t be made at them for being right, he’ll just have to accept they were and weren’t being dishonest about it. It’s a simple choice does he want a fresh start. Chances are for the same amount of money he doesn’t want to walk in to the unknown. If he’s being brought in to be the missing piece to a championship run sure he’s go but that likely isn’t happening. He’ll be another back making the same amount having to reprove himself and learn a new offense on top of it. Good chance he stays in Minny for less. If the Vikes didn’t want him and wanted to clear the space they would have cut him already and gave him the opportunity to land elsewhere.
