Minnesota Vikings News:
Dalvin Cook has ‘had a change of heart’ about taking a pay cut to stay in Minnesota, per Heavy.com. Months ago, Cook stated that he had no intention of taking a pay cut. I’m guessing he can see that the running back market has tanked over the past few years, and Spielman is the only person goofy enough to sign a running back to a $14 million contract in this day & age.
Lewis Cine is playing with no restrictions as he recovers from a horrific injury, according to TwinCities.com.
ESPN has a great piece on Jared Allen, how an ex-NFL football player and UFC fighter teamed up to help wounded veterans. Also, Akayleb Evans is going to adjust his tackling technique in order to avoid more concussions. That’s weird, when I was in junior high football, they stressed to us that we should not tackle head-first. I guess Akayleb didn’t get to go to a high-level 9-man school like I did.
The Cardinals have released WR Deandre Hopkins, according to NFL.com. Too bad we have a stable full of wide receivers, the thought of having the JJ/Hopkins duo in purple gets me excited. Wow, the Cards eat $22 million in dead cap by making this move. Ouch.

Here’s a great classic rock tune, this is the Steve Miller Band with The Joker. Enjoy!
So, a pitcher is ready to pitch, but the pitch clock says to long and stops play. Am i missing something?
Nope, not a thing. Perfectly sensible.
Not sure that they actually stop much time,
I believe they just call it a ‘ball’ at that point and on to the next pitch.
Pitcher will be quicker next time.
Not watching that much to be judgemental. I guess.
Ed Ingram begins his season with a matchup against Vita Vea, so fans will get to see what kind of progress the sophomore has made as early as Week 1. God help us.
Strength wise he can handle himself so Vea doesn’t concern me as much as a 40 lbs lighter DT3 who has speed and quickness. That’s where Ed struggles.
Hmmm… Vae is a big, 350lb bruiser with some athleticism. He’s beat up a lot of interior linemen.
I’d be more worried about Bradbury than Ed in that situation. To be honest I’m most worried about Ezra….he was not good last year.
IOL will suck. Ed will get 7 sacks from stepping on KC alone. Turd bull rushed and Ez is not great.
Ingram was responsible for 4 penalties, 11 sacks, 18 hits, and 58 pressures on Cousins last year. His run-blocking grade – 63.4 – was considerably better than his pass-blocking grade – 44.4, but he was no where near good. If Cleveland was worse than that, God help Cousins.
Well, might as well find out right off the bat what we got. Will check in next weekend to see how your game goes. Will check on Lifers too. You may have to give him some lessons ( just kidding Lifer).
Hey I’m all for suggestions. My problem is I work on too much stuff and got more shit rattling around in my head pre shot than a gum ball machine.
My 2 cents for the week.- take it for what it’s worth. When I started playing a guy told me you can kick the ball around the course and break 90. So he had me play with three clubs – 5 iron, wedge and putter. You hit the ball pretty good. I’ll bet you can break 90 doing that.
Other tip – find a club you can hit 100 yards and learn to love it and own it. Now, every time you get 100 yards ( or less)from green, get down in three – wedge and 2 puts. Condition your thinking. Hit the ball on the green, two puts and get the hell on to the next hole. One put is of course great. If you do this, you will score well Get a club and a shot you can use all day long.
Just a couple of thoughts – might help with the mind stuff some. .
Funny I just came in from out in my yard hitting 90 yard wedge shots in to a cypress pine in the middle of my yard. We have a open lot beside our house that extends back away from our property that is the perfect 100-75 yard practice range. I can hit full 54 wedge shots 75 yards out to work on distance control. I do need to get out to 100+ and grab my 52 or GW (48) and get them dialed in to your point.
That’s good. Golf is too hard, keep it very simple. For over 20 years i carried a 2 -3 handicap. But for every shot around the greens, I simply hit a pitch shot with a 56. For me was good from 90. But around the green, every shot was a pitch. No lob shots, just opened up the 56 just a little and hit a little higher.Chip and run, hooded it a little and hit a lower pitch than ran some. So I really only had one shot, with one club,so I got good with it without a lot of practicing.
If you’re playing with a PW,52,56 and a 60 – that requires a boat load of practice
At this point, my 100 yard reference is arbitrary. If you can hit your SW 75 so be it. Use that club all the way down and and get comfortable and good with it Your goal is then from 75 yards in is down in three. Good luck
That makes a lot of sense. I have a lot of wedges..48, 52, 54, 56, 58. I use them all but to your point none of them are my money club. I think my club would be the 54 if i was to pick one….open it up in the sand….chip and bump & run around the green and hit it from 100 in. I can certainly hit it farther but that’s with a harder swing which I don’t prefer. I like a full smooth swing under control and let the loft of the wedges control the distance. I’ll try using my Vokey 54 the next few weeks exclusively since I’ve been only using it in my yard each night and see if I can get it dialed in even further. Thanks for the tips!!
Good luck. Only thing if you’re going to use 54 from sand, make sure you have enough bounce. If not I’d suggest go with plan for 54 for everything, and then use SW from sand.
Yeah…I’m pretty good in the bunkers always confident I can get out and usually have a good shot at an up and down. I usually use my 56 unless wet heavy I go to my 58 or light fluffy go 54.
Eagled 3 par 5’s today. Wind was gusting to 40 mph however. Had to settle for a 66 on a par 72.
You’re my hero.
Well, then i woke up.
Well I’m back awake now. Went and played golf early this morning and had the round of my life. Sank three 30+ foot putts for par and pitched a ball in for birdie on a long par 5 from 40 yards. Hit three wood for the most part off the tee as this was a pretty short course for the most part, but trouble everywhere. Narrow fairways with water left and right or thick woods. Deep bunkers etc. I shot 37 on the front and 41 on the back. Came home tired and sweaty. Changed clothes and immediately fell asleep for three hours.
Although I don’t understand the language you speak, from the tone I suspect these are positive things?
Laughing… yes they are.
Somedays you have those floor rounds meaning scoring the lowest your skill level will allow. Great round!
That birdie pitch was a total thing of beauty. I hit my third shot short of the green on purpose because there were a number of deep bunkers fronting the green. Hit a nice sand wedge sort of low and running. The pin was tucked back left and I flew the ball about 25 yards then ran the ball around 45 feet breaking right to left dead into the hole.
See that’s what I’m talking about….playing the law of averages instead of hero shot golf. You could have tried for the green on your 2nd shot, ended up in a bunker with a terrible lie or worse miss hit even shorter than your lay up trying to kill it, bunker likely tho then chipped out (if you’re lucky) to 20+ feet and two putt for par or bogey being a high probability. Instead you lay up short and hit a manageable pitch with no pressure and it happens to roll in.
This is true. I play a more controlled game these days. “Going for it” usually resulted in lost golf balls and lot of penalty shots. I don’t lose many balls anymore and I don’t suffer a lot of penalty shots. I don’t usually have doubles and triples on my card anymore either.
I’ve noticed I’m usually using no more than two balls per round now and even may shoot over 90 but am not losing balls. That is a positive sign that all that needs improvement is course management, shot execution and as always chipping and putting.
Always checking in your and Lifers golf. Simply a great round – well done!! Believe we were talking yesterday you weren’t too far from high 70’s. Golf has enough bad breaks, never feel bad when a few things go your way. All part of the game and a 78 is a 78. Scorecard doesn’t care if you one or two put every green. Again, great round!
Thanks JR. As I said, this course was definitely on the short side, with a number of 300 to 325 yard par fours. All the par threes were over water and required good tee shots. I parred three of them and bogeyed the last one.
My last par of the day on 18 was a doozy. Hit three wood off the tee down the right tree line trying to work a draw back into the fairway. Unfortunately I hit a small fade that ended up in the woods, but I had a clear punchout lane. I was 200 yards out with a lake between me and the hole along the left side and more woods on the right. I punched a 5 iron out about 125 yards to the edge of the lake, and hit a gap wedge 78 yards to 5 feet and made the putt.
Doesn’t matter if it was short or long, easy or hard – a 78 is still a 78. And besides, Seve would have said that was just a routine par on 18.
Laughing… Seve, from the carpark, for the win!!!
Gratz!
My golf day was less fun. We had a couple of very slow groups in front of us, and a very impatient group behind us. We waited at least 3-6 mn on every tee box on the front 9. I do not play well when I have to wait. on the turn I saw that one of the groups ( with two very bad golfers) was eating lunch and it looked like they were only playing 9, and the other group was on the 10th tee while we were finishing 9. Great, I thought the back 9 would be better. Nope. Ate a sandwich at the turn, and relaxed before moving to 10. The foursome in front had still not hit their second shots. Watched 3 of the 4 hit multiple balls into the hazard before finally moving across the water. They also watched each other suck at golf, and then talked about it. When I could finally hit my tee shot, it went long, into the creek(hit the ball about 20 yards further than normal, since I was angry). I put all my stuff away and just drove the cart and caddied..
Meanwhile the group behind us hit into us while we were walking off the 12th green, and then again on 17. The second time it was close. I took my wife’s wedge and hit the fuckers ball into the water, and called the clubhouse. Bad enough a course that plays in 3.5 hours walking would take 5 hours, but then the group behind us really set me off.
If we had driven separately, I would have been done at 9. she wanted to finish the round, so I caddied.
Sometimes I hate the holidays.
Hey Surly, sorry to hear that. I also get really mad at slow play. I’ve been known to yell “while we’re young” more than a few times. I’m a fast player, so slow play affects my game. Can’t stand waiting around for ten minutes or more between shots.
I love golf, but would rather shovel coal all day than experience that kind of slow play.
That sucks man….exactly why I get my ass up early on Sat morn and be the first off at 7 am with only the same two old men going out before us each Saturday. They play super fast and we rarely have anyone behind us pushing and if we do we let them play through and everyone is happy.
Coca-Cola 600 from Charlotte. Gentlemen, start your engines!
Looks like everyone had plans. Happy Memorial Day!
Happy Memorial Day all, and thank you for your service since many here have served. Wish the yougins’ could understand the sacrifice of so many for our freedom.
Thank you Kathy. Yes, our younger generation have no idea what people have sacrificed in the name of our flag and our Country. They are being taught this Country is terrible, and racist.
It is the truth.
Only rich libs can afford an electric vehicle. Even with the subsidy
This you?
Vikings picked up Jeffersons 5th year option that will pay him $19.7 million in his 5th year.
He’s not gonna play this season without a deal unless he thinks Kirk isn’t coming back
You really think that??
This happened on April 25th.
You are high…..

Likely a slow day so updated title. Happy Memorial Day everyone!
‘No matter how I try
I find my way to the same old jam’
I read last night the very thoughtful comments many of you made yesterday, Thank you – they are very much appreciated. Although I’m still not real keen on vulgarity, I will give it more thought. But, a though for this Memorial Day
When I was in the Army, I was selected to work in Army Casualty. In this position I spent a lot of time in Arlington National Cemetery. It is a spectacular place but particularly so on Memorial Day with all the flags on every grave site. It is beyond moving.
Thank God for all who have sacrificed.
JR, good to here from you. Thank you for your service, and I visited Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day a number of times in the last 15 years. Very, very moving sight.
Never been to DC, and now doubt I will ever go (Lib sewer that it is).
Couldn’t bring myself to go to the Traveling Vietnam Memorial when it was nearby.
I would know some of the names on it and I don’t relish crying like a baby in public.
Even the very best of men, shed a tear sometimes.
True…
I don’t mind getting choked up over things I believe in.
I don’t to cry often and never in public.
Not who I am or want to be.
I can be true to myself and what I believe without public displays. I am not a Stupid Lib.
Vietnam Memorial is not something I can withstand however. So I choose to abstain and hold those heroes in my heart privately.
Sir Please believe I meant no disrespect and in fact respect the heck out of your position.
No worries, I didn’t sense any disrespect from your post.
I agree that a ‘real men’ can shed ‘a tear’ occasionally and appropriately. Not the same as wanting to avoid being seen in public ‘crying like a baby’.
And that is what I suspect the Vietnam Memorial would do it me.
Totally my failing, being raised by John Wayne and all.
Lost a brother in Nam, April 19th, 1968. Don’t know how anyone can look at the wall and see a friend or family name on it and not get a bit emotional.
My sincere condolences to you and your family for the lost of someone so dear so early in their life.
I would probably think less of any person who could stand at that wall and not be effected.
‘Ignorant’ would be the kindest thing I could say about them.
So much youth lost, so many 18-21 year olds. I look at society today and it sickens me. Question the war, they served and fought.
They had little or no choice but to go and fight.
And the way they were treated when they got back was criminal.
Anytime anyone says ‘whore’ I say ‘Jane Fonda’.
Too kind SoCal.
Not enough to balance the price, “All paid some, Some paid all’.
Oh my, so sorry Norseman. I lost some classmates as well.
No failing at all. Any of us raised byWWII generation folks completely understand.
You were a soldier, I was rear echelon. Thank you for your service.
We’ll always be brothers in arms, regardless.
With your service record, it is kind of you to say that.
Love this.
Is this your wife Lifer?
Mick… why don’t you go to Starbucks?
well…. That’s why.
For me it’s the $38 coffee….
😂
One reason.
Another reason is Mjolnir’s point.
I like a good cup of coffee. But that’s not a good cup. I’ll just spend a 1.50 at the gas station.
I want to marry that woman and have her make me suffer.
Lmao…😂😂
I would have called the police and had her arrested for disturbing the peace and being a public nuisance.
The nut jobs in this country is frightening.
Where’s the legend this morning?
Don’t take this the wrong way but…..
Magnificent Cock!
Skol!
might indeed.
He has risen!
Golfed with the family yesterday. My daughter wanted to keep score. I normally wait until June, but close enough.
Shot a 52 on the front nine, 46 on the back 9. 98, average round for me. Plenty of 3 putts and a few triple bogeys, but a decent round.. No beer was consumed, and I was in try-hard mode. Lost two balls. Perfect weather.
My daughter and I both have the same goal this season, to break 90. Pretty sure we will get there by August.
Hope everyone has a great day! Today I get to golf again, and may have a beverage or two, and not keep score and just enjoy being outside.
Skol!
Great round! You’re in the early find the feel mode so you’ll break 90. Focus on playing bogey golf instead of what the scorecard says is par. That way you know you have an extra stroke in your back pocket and will play more conservative and no hero golf.
Then on chipping around the green to ensure no worse than a two putt and the occasional up and down. You’ll shave 5 or 6 strokes over 18 doing that.
Hey Surly, glad to hear you were able to get out. Must be great to be able to play golf with your daughter. So cool!
Hey NVF….I did a deep dive on trying to find out what Iron’s Trump plays and I found it. He plays probably my favorite iron I fitted people for the last two years. Taylor Made Sim2’s. I would personally put him in a Ventus graphite shaft regular flex not the steel he’s seen here using, the same set up I’d put you in likely.
That is one of the clubs I am looking at. that and the Calloway Rogue irons from two years ago, and the Ping 425s. All discounted since they are not the latest.
I will cave in and get a fitting first, and hit all 3 to see what feels best.
it will be the Sim’2..done hundreds of fittings comparing those 3 and Sim’s usually rise to the top.
What’s your take on TM Rocket Blades ?
Very good irons. The thing about 10 yr old clubs is that irons and shafts have improved with the invent of super computers that can analyze and design out imperfections and in forgiveness. Also lofts are a full club stronger now which gives you more distance which you need as you get older. I would pass on them and take that money to buy newer 1 or 2 yr old irons at a discount.
Sounds like Ukraine is finally getting F-16’s. Putin commented this is a “colossal risk”. When Biden was asked to comment on Putin’s saying that he responded…
”It is for them”
lololololol fantastic.
Memorial Day… let us bow our heads and thank God for those who have given their all for our flag and our Country.
Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is a federal holiday for honoring and mourning the military personnel who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces
Well said.
Happy Memorial day, and thank you to all who have and do serve.
Well folks, the question is, can KOC get the team to execute better on both offense and defense this year? I have no hope for the kicking game.
KOC got the team to 13-4 in 2022.
Was that bad?
No, but I think we can all agree there was a margin of good fortune that fell our way last year. Also, we had a lot of veteran leaders who battled hard all year that have since departed the team. I think those guys were hugely important pieces that will be missed.
Well you know the saying that you dislike that applies here…
”You make you’re own luck”
The situations the team found themselves in to routinely comeback and win games was a product of great coaching, players believing and sticking to the plan and executing. They put themselves in a position 11 times to do what was necessary to win at the end. That was not luck but determination to not give up and meet the opportunity for victory.
I don’t think I’ve ever said anything in opposition to that adage, but there were many a fortunate bounce last year. From the first offensive play of the year against us when Rodgers tossed a bomb that was a sure fire TD that the receiver flat dropped, to Josh Allen’s fumble in the end zone, we had some unusually good things happen to us. That is why I feel we need to be better this year. The offense regressed last year, and the defense was pretty poor, but we did have grit.
Well first comment half awake I flubbed the “your” but I thought you commented before you dislike that saying.
Anyway yes there were some plays the opponent made mistakes and I look at those as things that happen in high pressure games sometimes have always happened historically in our games but typically we didn’t take advantage of them like we did last year and lost games we should lose or could lose. Last year was different because our players believed and that boiled down to it’s essence is our head coach having players in the right headspace to execute and take advantage.
Offense is elite. Defense is essentially dead last. Keep one the same and the other improved marginally…. Look out
I would like to actually put a couple teams away by the end of the 3rd quarter for a nice change of pace this year.
Don’t get me wrong – last-second, come-from-behind nailbiters are da bomb, but they can get old.
History channel good this weekend. Planted a flag in front yard. Hispanic neighbors left bags of dogshit. Welcome to new world.
What city do you live in, norsman1?
Eden Prairie MN, former home of Purple.
Are the Hispanics citizens?
BTW Minnesota is going down the left wing crapper in a hurry…it is becoming the California of the Midwest…some of it has now leaked into Fargo…we didn’t get the wall built fast enough.
You only know if exposed first hand. I know.
The good ‘ol days with The Triangle of Authority.
What a mess!!
Actually, most Hispanics I know are at least as patriotic as the bleeding heart entitled rich white kids…and some of them aren’t afraid to work.
I see the problem as being insertion zones, they don’t do out state. It’s suburbs that are getting hit hard. WTF decides this shit? It’s blatant shit. Sanctuary my ass.
So you are getting the
law breaking scummorally and pure immigrants who have come to the USillegalyto escape persecution? They are all deserving of housing, food and financial support. Sorry, i’m being selfish again.
No need to apologize…it all pisses me off to no end that we are wasting to many resources on non-citizens…literally billions and billions of taxpayer dollars…or debt that our kids have to pay.
Country is in dire straits, wish my kids and grands best of luck. Vote wisely.
Saw an article today that State Farm will no longer offer any commercial or residential property insurance in California. Can’t blame them.
Hi kid, glad you are settled!
Thank you, Norseman. We love the new place.
Lots of choas in past, Sounds like things will settle down. Weather will settle, let us know. Like you posting.
If I told folks who don’t know me about the year I’ve had, no one would believe me. At least the remodeling and the move are behind me, and we love it here.
If only voting would matter… we are given an illusion of choice.
Absolutely the correct take.
I would trade the entitled ‘liberal elite’ 1 for 1 with immigrants who is only trying to do right by their family.
Heck if I was in a South American Hell-hole I would be doing my best to get to American and provide for my family.
Problem is that with the Sniffer Border is that criminals get to walk in with the decent, hardworking folk.
No filter process, there is a ton of scum coming into this country, if you don’t believe that then you are very ignorant.
‘Problem is that with the Sniffer Border is that criminals get to walk in with the decent, hardworking folk.’
I believe I have stated that.
RACIST!! YOU ARE AFRAID of BROWN PEOPLE! oh sorry, late in the day on Sundays my liberal alter ego comes out. Yes, you are correct to be concerned, but no one in authority will acknowledge that.
Ancestry.com says I have pretty much all the bases covered.

Freaking Mutt! no wonder all of your takes are so messed up! 🙂
Dad was ‘all white’ from Kentucky. Mom’s maiden name was Villa from Calif. Mom’s grandfather was Belgium hence the numbers being tilted toward Northern Europe.
I’m more white and racist than you.

Well the first slaves brought to the US were Irish so you might get a little leeway.
Who am I kidding, actual history doesn’t matter.
Yeah. White slaves don’t count as slaves.
yup,
an inconvenient truth given that the word Slave originates from the word Slavic.
There were slaves in biblical times.
Well before the Slavics.
True, there has always been slaves.
Romans and Spartans particularly ran their society based on slaves.
Did not say you were ignorant, talking about society in general. You have a good grip on things, IMO.
Ok, I misunderstood your reply.
We agree then.
No biggy, texting can be misunderstood. Hope wifey is doing well. She have surgery?
Surgery was Friday morning, 5:30am check-in. We are 90 minutes away.
Fun part was me reacting to something I ate and I spent Thursday night ‘kneeling to the porcelain god’, then driving to surgery center starting at ‘oh-dark-30’ then waiting for 6hrs to drive her back in LA traffic.
@It was fun.@
LOL, life is a hoot. Hope you and wifey feel better.
She is on some good Meds. I am on standby for when she needs anything.
My stomach is ‘almost normal’ again so progress.
Yikes. Hope she’s OK.
Kathy she is ok fine.
Just heated and delivered a Pot Pie to her.
She/We have been through this before.
As she said this morning ‘it helps to remember that after the 1st week or two it gets better’.
Sounds like you’re taking very good care of her.
no complaints so far so I take that as a win.
Lol….belly laugh on that one.
True Lifer, but living on 15th hole doubt you’d understand.
Nope, I know lots of privileged lefties who never have to deal with the real world consequences of our open borders policy…they live in nice, gated communities far away from the ‘insertion’ points.
Can’t agree more.
If those communities are inserted, they just ship them out.
But claim they welcome immigrants.
Ala Martha’s Vinyard.
Zactly
i’ve picked up left behind poop bags more than a few times in my yard and my driveway. So those nationalities doing it to you has nothing to do with where they are from. People forget to get them.
LOL
Reminds me of the Cheech and Chong dogshit skit they did.
THAT WAS a great skit…I reference it often…but I fear it is lost on most.
Well, it is from the boomer era.
Well, when you are 48 years old playing professional sports is not an easy task.
To JRobertson, hope you see this. I really enjoyed talking with you and hopefully at some point you will return. I left once as well because folks were getting way out of hand with personal insults, slights, etc.
We can ignore any comment we choose to.
Like Gone Fishing…that some ‘bitch is always out of line….
Seriously, well spoken. NLNV
Hey asylum. Shove commenting closed up ass. Figure shit out.
Weird.
I’ve been getting logged out a few times.
How about a notification to say something. I mean FFS.
Think it auto logs you off after a certain number of days
Not that, site is weird.
How can you be logged in, make some comments and they say commenting closed? Log you out. Makes zero sense.
It is a daily thing for me pretty much.
Sometimes more frequently than that.
I log myself out periodically so at least it doesn’t happen after I finished typing some long/random/incoherent rant that I would have to redo.
I don’t mind a refresh, just tell me. Don’t get it.
2nd time it happened to me today, kind of shoots down the whole ‘it will log you out every couple of days’ narrative.
You are a known right wing extremist and a threat to
authoritanism ‘democracy’ so you must be silenced. My family identifies as a ‘Californianos’ (a valid census designation for decendants of Calf settlers, 1782 for us) but I understand that doesn’t stop us from being Racist as well (as the liberals define anyone who disagrees with them).
Yes, disagreement is racism…I am glad you underatnd that. Acceptance is the first step to recovery.
I get that sometimes as well…irritates me a little but I tell myself no big deal…but it usually happens when I have something really interesting and intelligent to say.
Feel like i’m not wanted. Butt hurt.
1st world problems!!!
I think I understand, not sure as I seldom have anything ‘really interesting and intelligent to say’.
I have learned to log out/in before I post anything of length. ‘Pain is the best teacher’ so that even I can learn eventually.
Interesting, when I went to post this I got the ‘commenting closed’ notification.
This time I copied it before refreshing/re-logging in.
Sometimes if feels targeted like the IRS is going to show up at my door for posting anti-sniffer comments.
Thou must not post ant-sniffer comments….
I am not a big tin foil hat guy but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this website had attracted the attention of ‘the regime’
I assume armed IRS agents are coming to most of our homes to “help” us with our tax returns.
And guns….I lost all of my guns in the lake on my last fishing trip.
Since it’s Sunday and kind of slow, it’s a good time to post this. Also, some of the folks I like are here on weekends. So, this is going to be my last post. I really hadn’t done much of this and it was kind of an experiment for me.
But on Friday something happened I didn’t like very much. Mick had posted a nice video of the comeback against Indy. I, as well as several others liked it but a few didn’t so much. But one guy says to me, and NLVF also, you can go keep sucking Cousins dick. I find that vulgar and repulsive – and will always feel that way about it. If you like, you can go back and read the exchanges.
Long story short, I don’t need that. Maybe some will say just good old give and take, Ok, but not for me. Anyway, enjoyed talking with many of you and all the best.
May still drop by on the weekends to see how Lifter and NLVF are doing on their golf games.
PS I realize I am at best a marginal contributor and hardly a loss to the sight. Just thought I’d explain for a couple of the guys I like.
Sorry to hear this. No call for that. I am a verified Kirk Hater, but would never insult people that like or love the guy. we can have different opinions.
maybe just hide all posts from that person?

This is true. Being civil is something we all can agree on. Surly, you and I are at opposite ends of the spectrum on Cousins but we’ve never gotten personal or vulgar. It’s the internet though and this is part of it. The part I could do without.
Yes, well….Surly is Dum Dum….:)
^^^ yup
Sinple
Ah man….JRob I hate to see you go. Please do stop in on the weekends I really enjoy the golf talk and value your takes as you know your stuff. Seasons right around the corner we’ll hit the game threads and see how all we’ve discussed purple plays out.
If you go, the vulgar ones win…..don’t go.
This is the tension on this site…the balance between ‘free speech’ and not offending folks to the point they leave.
I understand your perspective.
To both Surly and Lifer. Thanks. But that person will be here tomorrow and the next day. And it will be the same to someone else, and i don’t want to read that either. Just believe people should treat each other with a certain amount of respect. I too fall short sometimes, but I try.
At the top of this site it says be cool to one another. There is no place on earth where a statement like what was said is cool. But perhaps here, so it’s not for me.
And NDK thanks too.
I get it…I don’t stop in on weekends much but I hope to see your posts when I do.
Lifer and I can get a little heated on the politics side from time to time…but I hope he understands if I ran into him at a pub I would rather buy him a beer than punch him in the face….’keep sucking Cousins dick’ doesn’t quit give the same vibe.
We’re cool NDR as I am in reality with everyone here. It’s all kabuki theater with me getting wound up on the political crap…we’re all in the same boat on this cruise of life.
Sucks to hear ya go. Always enjoyed the convo with ya. Some are more tolerant to the dumb things people say than others and We all get to chose what we want to deal with.
sucks to see ya go, maybe you’ll be back once the game start.
Also it’s a holiday weekend, maybe you’re good for another day.
I hear you JRob.
I find myself post less often due to the ‘keyboard warriors’ who only think their opinion is valid and insult anyone who doesn’t know that.
But there are enough good people with interesting/thoughtful takes and it is nice to share their stories.
It is better than it used to be and I have been able to ignore the worst of it.
I have no doubt that 5 would have called us Betas but personally I know I am a Sigma.
Kfey the clown is a moron. Don’t let him get to you.
I had to leave the site as well once, as the personal slights, insults, and intolerant discourse pissed me off. Still does.
I’ve thrown more than a few personal slights your way as I have always received more than my fair share of them but I apologize for offending you. I’ve been trying to tone down my personal slights and I think you’re a good dude NVF.
^^^^stupid lib
Lifer is dum dum.
.
Thank you Lifer… we can do it! We can get along with each other!
I’ve always liked you NVF and usually agree with you across the board on everything else…the political crap is a heat of the moment thing for me and getting frustrated I can’t understand why something thinks the way they do and I can’t enlighten them to think about things in a different way. That’s all. I live in the heart of NASCAR country here 99.9% red and I get along with everyone and they know I’m a bleeding heart lib. We can do it!
It’s the internet.
You will always come across people who aren’t cool to you. If it’s not for you, good for you to do what’s best for you.
Blessings to you and your family!
Can be very uncivil here at times. NVF gets a ton for KC talk. I tend to just back off.
Sorry to read that you are leaving, mate. Understand the reasoning behind your decision, though. Best of luck to you, SKOL
I don’t get that kind of vitriol either. I remember the exchange y’all are referencing as I was posting that day and I honestly feel as though it’s par for the course. Shit tends to get personal. People take criticism of a football take as a personal indictment on their character and it snowballs from there. We all have an ego, some a bit easier bruised than others. I understand the frustration – nobody comes to this place to be insulted. This is a place for spirited discussion with lively banter and good-natured ribbing amongst fellow fans. Despite protests and assertions to the contrary, 95% of what’s said on here would NEVER be said to someone in person, face-to-face. It just wouldn’t.
The day of the playoff loss I had a dust up with a fellow member of this site. The man was a valued contributor who I’d never had an issue with and he was going thru some shit at the time. His posts that day were particularly negative and I, also salty from the loss, chose to take issue and express my opinion in regard to his behavior. I wasn’t nice about it, and instead of ignoring his emotional response to my provocation I CHOSE to pile on. It was a cheap shot, one designed to invoke a response and it was literally the first time, in reality or online, I have ever dry-gulched someone. I apologized a few days later in hopes that he’d see it, don’t know if he ever did and I haven’t seen a trace of him sense.
I try to keep things light. I’m a pop-culture nerd and I’ll quote song lyrics and movie lines and other shit I think is funny. Nostalgic Viking takes. Football takes in general. I’m a pigskin junkie and I indulge my obsession year-round. I can talk this game with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
I’d encourage you to stick around. Show the moxie I think you possess and when the lion roars from his den, pull up a chair and show that creature that you too, are capable of baring your teeth.
SKOL!
Sorry to see you go. I appreciate your perspective. There are a few guys that are “always right” and everyone else is always wrong, and don’t you dare cross them. Most of the time I can ignore them, but on certain days, I don’t do that so well. About a month ago, I took a couple weeks off from here. Sometime you just need a break.
Some people come after to hard JR. I tend to talk to some less depending on subject matter, but yes, name calling is not called for.
cool video.
Neat to see some of those guys again.
Love that… lot of memories there. Thanks for sharing Mick!
Rappers, cold day in hell before i listen to one.
Barr a FA, he worth any interest?
I suspect he would be cheap.
A Flores call no doubt.
Maybe make it more incentive laden, mostly just playing. D is suspect on every level, just a thought.
His true value was as a pass rusher which he didn’t do enough of either by design (which I suspect was the case) or decided not too. Either way screw him and Zimmer for missing out on Aaron Donald and likely the SB ring that would have come had we drafted him instead of candy Barr.
Want to see front 7 more aggressive, like the way Giants play. Anything but that shit last year.
Amen!
we don’t have the personnel to be anything like the Giants unfortunately
I get that, but I would rather try an be a bit more like the Giants and give up some long TDs rather than watch that 8 yard per play shit we endured last year.
All my years watching Purple i have never seen a softer, shell of a defense.
*cousins fault
Now you have said out loud what everyone is thinking…..
He’s be solid in a 3-4
As a vet min rotational pass rusher sure
28 years ago today Phil Hartman was murdered…. RIP
Crazy bitch…did she go to prison?
No she killed herself immediately after
Yup. Was coked out of her mind. Got the blow from Andy Dick – Jon Lovitz won’t speak to him to this day over it.
Wow…the story behind the story. Never liked Andy Dick not surprised he’s at the center of this tragedy.
Walked up to Lovitz at an awards show a few years later and said ‘I’ve put the Hartman hex on you… you’re the next to die’ Lovitz had to be held back by Norm MacDonald. And that’s Lovitz – widely regarded as a sweet guy in Hollywood circles.
Took the PXG’s out for their inaugural round. Hit them pretty damn good. Shot a very nice 82 (42-40). Played my normal game, just keeping the ball in play, don’t play hero ball at all. On the 18th hole I hit my 3 wood very strongly down the right side with a draw but it landed and kicked dead left on me. The hole was a dogleg left and of course I was in jail behind a stand of trees. Beyond the trees was a lake on my left, and through the fairway around the trees was a marsh. I was 148 out. I decided to hit a sand wedge over the the trees to get back in the fairway, and hit a dead perfect shot straight up in the air. Left myself 90 yards to the pin, and hit a smooth pitching wedge to about 12 feet. Rolled the putt in for par, and high fives all around.
Great round. You just keep getting better. High 70’s are next..
Don’t have the length for that really. I have to lay up on the long par fours and the long par fives are tough too. I might could shoot 78 or 79 but today I hit the ball pretty darn good. I was very pleased.
Name of your sex tape
If you can shoot 79, you’re better than 99.5% of all the golfers. Right now you can beat 98%. i know you play for fun, but your game is really in a good spot.
I shot a 79 and a 78. Those are the only 2 sub 80 rounds I ever shot. That was about 15 years ago now, then my kid starting getting involved in sports and I didn’t have time to play as much. With an arthritic hip and back I doubt I will ever do it again, I think 83-84 is more my high water mark at this point.
Nothing wrong with 83-84. The arthritis thing is tough – I have a new knee from dealing with it and a shoulder that gives me fits. Sort of comes with age. Good luck.
Nice! Golf is fun when you play like that.
How do you like the PXGs? What irons did you get?
I am still in the shopping for clubs stage. Promised myself new clubs once I break 100 often. Started doing that last year, and still waffling on new clubs.
Surly, I love the PXG 0211 irons (4-sw including a gap wedge) set (2019 edition) I bought from a guy for $250. I think the 0211’s are the “cheaper” model PXG irons that retailed for $195 a club. They have irons that go for $495 a club I think. I feel like I stole these clubs at the price I paid, and I really like them.
Nice deal!
If I went that route, I would get the previous get clubs that are still more than I should pay for clubs. Looking at previous iterations of several models since I hate paying full retail.
I’m the same way. If I’m not getting a deal, I’m not buying.
How are the 4 only people talking to each other doing today?
The four people in my head are doing just fine.
Lol
Marx, Stalin, Lenin, and Castro??
I kid…I kid…
Bernie, Greta, Soros, Mao
Oh…further left.
Great how’s the skolly fam
Doing good. Weather is beautiful here so spending a lot of time outside doing stuff.
How the Jammin fam doing?
They’re good, they went up to the in laws Lake cabin, I stayed home Anna have been fixing things and yard work
Weather here is cold 55 rain and wind from the system on the coast so I’m doing the same, fixing shit. I think I fixed our 3 year old Maytag Bravos XL washer. These are Maytag’s flagship series units and recently when it’s finishing the final high speed spin dry it’s suppose to auto brake to slow the tub and the unlock the topload lid and alarm that it’s done. It’s been making this horrific wheel grinding noise like the brake is trying to engage the spinning tub but missing the tubs gears to stop it so the alarm sounds it’s done the lid unlocks and the basket is spinning like a tornado still. This thing really hums it uses magnets instead of a motor to spin the basket but has a small motor that does the breaking. I pulled it out and tipped it up to see underneath and found the center bolt in the motor housing was out about a quarter inch and loose. I tightened it back up and I’m testing it now to see if it fixes the issue. I assume it will. Man of many talents like MT. Now the proverbial required response.
Maytag repair guy, and you choose a balloon factory.
Old wise regional VP once said to me…
”We all make choices”
Yeah I did some research on this this morning. Nothing to see really. Grapp had surgery on that foot right before he was signed so he wasn’t going to pass the physical going in and they knew that. The contract provision is just insurance in case it was a botched surgery or recovery which it isn’t expected to be.
That’s my take… just a hedge against him not being able to play.
silly season news about nothing.
I need it not to be a serious issue so I can keep Adams as my keeper in our fantasy league. Have to have a decent QB for him or he’s trash.
I don’t know who you’d keep otherwise LOL.
Metcalf or A. Jones
Right, I’m just saying it’s a crapshoot. I’d probably lean Jones… just Becuase he’s going to be that safety valve for Love.
Yeah we’ll see….I hate McDaniels offense of NOT going to Adams like a cuck disphit. He’s suck a fuck stick.
I’m assuming y’all talking fantasy? Depending upon your RB room and how many keepers I’d take Metcalf over Jones – but I don’t know the roster makeup or the rules.
Target bomb threat. From a tranny who is upset that Target moved tranny clothes from the front of the store.
https://twitter.com/Travis_in_Flint/status/1662493555313524737
such a peaceful group…nothing to see here…whether or you are shooting up a Christian school or threatening to bomb Target stores, its just part of your freedom of expression as an oppressed minority.
And I think Bombs should be banned by the way….then we can stop worrying about stuff like this.
The first word on Brian Flores’ new Vikings defense: ‘Intense’As the Vikings began 11-on-11 practices this week, the team’s coaches are laying the groundwork for reprogramming a group of young defenders.
(I found this comment “reprogramming” interesting. I would agree the mindset has t change first, but how much a change in approach can make I’m somewhat skeptical.)
Growth can also happen quickly as Flores learns more about a Vikings depth chart in which nearly half of defenders — 21 of 45 — are first- or second-year players.
“[Rookies] don’t know what 494 is, or 35W,” Flores said. “They’re trying to get acclimated and figure things out. There’s a lot of development there and they can develop quickly because they don’t know as much. .. [We’re] finding out the things they do well, what buttons to push, what buttons not to push.”
aka… get rid of the dumdumvets that suck and have sucked for years with their loser mentality.
Not sure who that would be or was that was not re-signed or released Mick…
Kendricks, PP, Z… and who knows who else is going to get cut.
lots of off-season left,
I would agree Za’Darius is a dumbass…PP & EK are not but didn’t fit the Flores scheme.
I applaud Flores coming in and putting his stamp on the defense and not being afraid to do a complete rebuild. Everything for me points to him being here for 2-3 yrs revamping this defense.
I think 2 is the magic number.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he left after this year and we start the revolving door of DCs like we had for OCs under Zim
He’ll leave eventually but I think it’s minimally a 3 yr stint. He’s been bouncing around the last few years I’m sure he’s tired of not being able to build anything year to year. Now he’s with a 1st class organization in elite facilities with great leadership and coaches. He won’t want to leave for just anything other than the perfect HC job.
Tough to say. He didn’t bounce around… he got picked up by the Steelers then pulled out of the HC I’m AZ process for DC here.
he’s resume building… I think KO/KAM gave him free reign to do what needs to he done with the D.
Free reign is good, but I hope KOC learned something last season – he’s the coach of the “whole” team and the defense is as much his responsibility as the offense.
Different situation. I think the defense made some big plays early that helped get wins and that covered up some of the lumps…
but…
Donatell was not Fangio. And he wasn’t going to be him either. I think KO is heavily involved and bringing a guy like Flores in who’s hungry like he is creates a better dynamic.
the defense isn’t anywhere as good as the offense, but that’s fuel for Flores in practice. He doesn’t want his defense getting clowned.
want your DBs to grow up quick? Here’s some hard reps vs the best WR in football.
I’m hopeful but actually from one word Flores said – physical. “You really can’t tell much from OTA’a because there is no contact.” He understands fully that good defense starts with physicality and that has hardly been our strong suite. Whether they can cover well or not, they will get better because he will demand that they play physical football.
When Deebo and Kittle and the like are coming at you you better be physical.
The one things Flores can’t coach around is depth. He doesn’t have any and if the physical style lends to injuries then this defense may end up getting punk’d just like last season. Hopefully we stay relatively healthy.
Depth where? There’s tons of depth.
im more concerned with the starter level quality players than depth.
Mick There are 31 OC’s in the league that would love to play us, not just because we play a soft type defense but also because we play physically soft. Physicality is not so much talent, as attitude. That is where I believe Flores will be a big help.
Yeah last years version.
dunno about this year yet.
Lol….you think our secondary has depth?? LB’s is meh not terrible, DE’s are rotation guys behind Davenport and Hunter. Weak and suspect.
Yes. It’s all depth. My concern is the start quality players.
they’re basically all young guys. Murphy, Harry, and Bynum. Those guys have starting experience. Everyone else? Very little.
Sweet sister and I moved in to our new place Tuesday. We absolutely love it, just perfect for what we wanted/needed. However, moving was already exhausting when our A/C in new place went out on MOVING DAY. Yikes. We were without air until Thursday night and it was 84 degrees in here. Completely replaced furnace and A/C, which we knew were going to do, just not during the move UGH. Done now, and we had already replaced the water heater.
We did have lots of help, thank goodness including daughter, and son in law has been an absolute hero.
Great to hear Kathy!
little bit more tolerable in June than August for the heat to go out.
Right, August would be much worse. Of course the day AFTER we got our new A/C, weather cooled to lovely spring and we didn’t even need A/C, haha!
You’re all settled in now?
back to just living??
Still quite a bit of unpacking to do, but good enough to be able to function, although still plenty of things we don’t know where stuff is yet. No surprise to anyone, I made sure to have my favorite wine opener available, lol.
Gotta get the essentials out!
Congratulations on the move. Glad it’s finally done and dusted. It seems you’ve been working so hard for a year or more to get to this day.
I’ll tip a nice Cabernet to you!
Thank you. Yes, it’s been an absolutely crazy year. Sweet sister and I finished unpacking the kitchen today, which was the worst of what we still had left to do. Went out to dinner to have nice glass of wine and meal to celebrate!
I’m really behind on NFL news, which I normally stay pretty informed about. Here in a couple more weeks, will try to catch up.
Glad to read that things are on the upside for you. Don´t forget to enjoy on of these 🍷 from time to time 🙂
Will do, thank you Hun.

He does seem to ‘show willing’ when it comes to blocking.
Ya’ll wingers gonna love this….

Looks like all that practice with Willie Brown paid off.
Sure does…bet she can handle a hotdog sale with her eyes closed.
We we discussing historical boxing matches a few threads back and how we don’t see those level of fights anymore…well just announced this is one of those level fights. Finally.
Bud Crawford – The Pride of North O.
I’ve seen a lot of his fights…not many of Spence’s. I’ll have to watch his to see what he’s all about. Both undefeated.
Wife and I woke up early and took the dog and baby Skolly to the farmers market in the neighborhood. Weather awesome this weekend
Nice. Wife just got back from Yoga class. Headed out to Tarpon Springs for the day.
Great weather today. Enjoy.
Not here in the SE…have a low pressure moving up the coast pushing cool 50 degree weather in. Suppose to be rain also but it hasn’t materialized. Got my round of golf in today with windy brisk conditions. Was very fun.
Central Florida is absolutely beautiful. How was the golf?
It was a chilly 50 degree start with swirling tropical storm winds from the system on the coast. Gust up to 15-20 mph with a steady 10 mph wind. Heading out wind mostly at our backs, heading in dead in our face. So challenging. We started on the back nine so we didn’t have to start on #1 which I had a quad on last week. We started on 10 I was below the hole in 2 missed the 30’ birdie putt but par’d. Missed an easy 7 foot birdie a few holes later was 1 over through 4. 2nd ranked hole I went to my 7 wood off the tee to be safe and just came out of it with the hard wind blowing in my face and hit it OB. Dropped and had a double, tripled a few holes later and ended up shooting a 49 on the first 9. Shot a 46 on the second nine for a 95. Had 2 triples and 3 doubles. Also tried a different mallet putter, It sucked way to light kept leaving putts short all round. Going back to my Scottie. Had fun tho…
Still not bad. Wind like that will balloon everyones’ scores. And as you note, a light putter in windy conditions is not the best.
terrible choice by me to switch to it. Cost me at least 5-6 strokes. I couldn’t tell it was that much lighter when trying it out at the house until I got on the practice green hit a few with it and said….uh oh…this isn’t good.
We’re all different but I can’t put well with a light putter under most all conditions. I want to always feel the putter head. For me, that’s always a little on the heavy side.
it’s a TM Spider mallet like Jason Day’s I thought it was heavy enough but way lighter than my Scottie Newport. I can get some heavier weights it has two removable ones. The ones it has in it must be 2 grams. They make 10 gram ones and I have one 1 took out of my R11 driver that fits it. Need another.
I know it looks like crap but I have a fair amount of lead tape on mine. Several irons too.
yeah we sell rolls or strips at the balloon factory. I’m going to see if I have any old TM weights laying around I can poach.
Instead of saying something, I am just offering this gif to someone on here.
Maybe later I will “apologize”.
Image not working for me.
Refresh. I changed the image.
If it doesn’t work it’s just me putting five asleep.
A bit vague, a bit mysterious….
I like it.
Skol!
What did I ever do to you?
I guess the question is, are they better? Replacing players is one thing, replacing them with better players is another. Of course we’re all hoping that we did in fact, get better in that room.
Considering how bad the defense was the last 3 years…
the bar isn’t very high.
Laughing… true.
for Zim having been billed as the CB whisperer…
….
he doesn’t have much to show for it now.
Lot easier to play CB with a pass rush.
GM.
FTP!
Morning Mick! FTP!
While Dalton Risner isn’t the best Guard in the NFL by a long stretch, most teams in the NFL see him as a player with sufficient quality that adding him to their roster makes sense at the right price point. The bottom line is Risner makes sense for a lot of teams.
We’ll see this coming week who is willing to invest the money for him. Post 1 June cuts are coming that will free up cash on every team.
Don’t believe you can ever have too many good offensive lineman.
Concur. Most people don’t know that during Tom Brady’s tenure with New England, Belichick continuously drafted left tackles that he transitioned to other spots on the O-line. That way he was never in a situation where he could not protect his QB’s blind side. If his left tackle went down, he had plenty of back-up’s to spare. Belichick was very focused on his O-line and made sure they were amongst the best in the league every year.
And as you know, there was a guy who won three SB in nine years with three different QB’s but basically the same offensive line.
Yep… too bad the HoF never saw fit to induct that line as a whole into the Hall.
Is that possible? Submit them as a unit?
They can do whatever they want. They’ve inducted owners, etc. The Steel Curtain should be in there, the Hogs, and maybe the Legion of Boom. These were historic units. They should be in the Hall.
Interesting. I consider OL a high priority too.
We have a bingo….
Would you let a drag queen twerk and spread his legs in front of your children?
You let mentally ill individuals have access to military grade weaponry to kill your children. Which is worse?
Your ignorance is showing again, attaining “military grade weaponry” takes a very strict background check and a couple thousand dollars. So no mentally ill people would not be able to own that type of weapon.
AR-15 is a military weapon. I don’t care about your faux made up criteria created and bought by the gun lobby to flood our streets with rifles designed for war. You know damn well what I mean.
An AR-15 is nothing more than a .22 with a lot of body work. It is FAR from what we use in the military.
I don’t get why drag queens get to demand anything?
WTF does that even mean? That’s not the point. Why are you worried about drag queens when people are killing kids in classrooms?
The point is that parents should have knowledge of, and choice regarding what their kids are being exposed to at school.
The point is why are Republicans worried about and passing legislation to ban African American history or regarding what their children are being exposed to with minuscule instances of drag queens in schools instead of passing laws to keep them safe from being slaughtered by guns which is widespread.
It’s a pretty simple answer, they’d rather sacrifice our and their own children’s lives to supress the rights and freedoms of those with different orientations and cultures. Grievances and Bigotry.
Then you have this shit…literal grooming by heterosexual adults but ya’ll silent on this dysfunction.
https://twitter.com/keneakers/status/1662294100983562240?s=61&t=MSJjCAC7RYtUNOadOBqDvw
Your ignorance is showing again. No Republicans are passing legislation banning Afrincan American hisory.
Here’s the America Republicans want. Now sit back and bitch about high costs at the grocery store and in other industries where the skilled manual labor privileged Americans can’t and won’t do isn’t getting done and costs sky rocket. Your bigotry goes against the fabric of what has made and makes this a great country. Wake up. Change.
https://twitter.com/keneakers/status/1661914138262765568?s=61&t=MSJjCAC7RYtUNOadOBqDvw
there’s an interesting statement in this video. “You’re not going to get an entitled American to come out and do this type of work.” What created a world where Americans would even think llke this.
One thing that is in play is that government pays people close to the same amount of money to not work.
You can’t blame entitlement and social programs that address poverty for everything. Medicare and Social Security are for the elderly who simply cannot physically handle this type of manual labor. Those is poverty typically have some level of disability, child / family responsibilities or addiction. They can’t do this type of work and it’s ridiculous to use them as an excuse to take away good paying jobs from immigrants skilled, willing and capable of doing the work.
Who has a problem w immigrants doing the work? I just want them to go through the established process to enter the country so that they can be vetted and get SSNs. I don’t want the people that other countries don’t want to keep in their own country. I also don’t want the level of drug traffic to continue to flow like it is now.
you’re clearly not informed what’s occurring in Fla.
