Friends is one of my favorite sitcoms, but this episode was a little annoying.
Mrs and I watch it every night laying in bed before we go to sleep. Have for years. I’ve seen ever episode probably 10 times.
This is an analysis done couple years ago regarding what specifically GM’s should pursue in building a Championship team. At a minimum the team needs “blue chip” players in the following roles:
1 franchise quarterback
3 offensive linemen
3 offensive playmakers
2 pass rushers
3 defensive playmakers
In a pass-happy league, it is important to have a roster that features enough weapons to win using the aerial attack as the driving force of the offense. Conversely, the defense must be able to disrupt the timing of the passing game and create turnovers on the second level.
How far away are the Vikings from achieving a roster with these elements?

Laughing… that was a pretty spectacular shot. Keep in mind I was playing with three guys I didn’t know, and they watched me pour in three 30 footers and pitch a ball in from 40 yards. Made fresh Pico De Gallo for a BBQ I was invited to tonight. Swapped serrano peppers for Jalapeños. I was tempted to not de-seed them but I changed my mind and de-seeded all 3. Gonna let it veg in the fridge for another 30 min before I try it. Im excited.

Nice! I love serrano and Jalapeno but they both seem to sit oddly different in different foods. I always opt for de-seed because you can throw more peppers into the mix and still get the kick with more peppers and then more flavor.
I tried it…its not hot at all…I should have followed the recipe as it stated and not de seeded them. That being said, it tastes AMAZING, my best batch yet. Oh well, live and learn. Happy Thursday dude.

Cousins came in with 5:26 in the game down by a TD. He went 3 for 10 playing desperation ball trying lead a comeback. The Redskins went 4 and out on his first drive, then Seattle burned 3 minutes off the clock and kicked a field goal to go up by 10. Redskins got the ball back with 1:06 left and Cousins obviously couldn’t do much.

I run the AC in the house. I just roll the windows down & open the sunroof in the pickup.
Have to sleep at night. The big variable.

My wife has authoritarian control over the heating and cooling of our living area. I have complete control over the temperature of all areas outside of our dwelling. Well except in the vehicle. Still, seems a fair trade.

Nossir, not this year. I’m running in a marathon relay in Bismarck in September, I’ll run some 10ks, and kiddo & I will prolly run a few 5ks together. No long runs planned for this year, unless I get a wild hair.
I am 5K prepping for one in September, but I might do some other ones before them.
I got some people on my revenge list that I need to beat this year, which is just something I do to keep myself amused.

I’m running a 5K with kiddo the night before I run the marathon relay. I have the long leg, but it’s still only 6.6 miles, & I can do that in my sleep.
In my sleep is about the only place I’d ever run that far and I would probably wake up in a cold sweat.
I run further than 6.6 miles at least once a week, usually twice. Then I’ll do a short day (3 miles) where I do speed work, run intervals & such.

I’m going to my first farm auction on Saturday. I am kind of excited and yet intimidated at the same time. What if I sneeze and bid $40,000 on a combine?
That is on the heels of the hospital benefit on Friday where there is also an auction run by the same company. I might be fleeced by Saturday afternoon.

I’m sure everyone has read The Millionaire Next Door. Auctioneers, at least the average auctioneer, are prodigious accumulators of wealth, due to their knowledge of what stuff is or is not worth. It is really difficult for me to eyeball a Ridgid table saw or Craftsman radial arm saw and know what it is worth.
I covet a small tractor that is the next size up from my SCUT. But I have my max price set in my mind and will not go over it. Also a 10 foot piece of poly culvert.

Some people come prepared. I was at an auction where they also sold off the land and house (it was on a lake). Some people came with their real estate agent. It was a bit out of my range. They sold three lots, one about an acre, the other two about a half acre each. The total sale came in around $1 mil. The people that bought the house planned on bulldozing it and starting over.
I see the auction manifest says terms are 10% down at time of sale with full price in 30 days. If you fail to purchase you forfeit the down payment. Also something about a finders fee. Note I am not buying the place it might be a decent rental but I am not in the landlord business.
I hate it when the put up signs that say “lots for sale”, but then they never tell you what’s for sale. You wonder, “lots of what for sale?”. Aggravating.

I’ve got family in the Windom/Worthington/Jackson area – Mainly Windom/Jackson. My dad started on the floor @ Ag-Chem and eventually landed in sales. Not certain but I think they drive to Mankato for Wal-Mart or anything they can’t get at Runnings or the HyVee Hometown in Windom.
I haven’t been to walmart in like a decade. I mostly shop at small businesses like the local hardware store, local liquor store, or the cigar shop by my house. My wife however is doing her best to support Target, Kohls, etc.

The market is already set. This is pretty foolish commentary. Cousins current market value is at $40M+ at the moment. His supremely consistent production since becoming a starter in 2015 is out there for all to see. While Cousins isn’t an exciting player like Jackson or Mahomes, Kyle Shanahan says he is the “prototype QB” he wants.
I do not expect the Vikings to invest that much money in Cousins. I think they just look elsewhere for a cheaper alternative and move on in 2024.

I am trained and proficient in not only hitting targets at a range, but killing another human being. Those are two very different things. Even trained police officers aren’t very comfortable firing their weapon at another person.
While people see this issue from distinctly different points of view, I insist on having the ability to defend myself against violent crime, rather than be a victim of it.

It’s kind of weird, because the Vikings didn’t have to wait till after 1 June to declare Cook a post 1 June release. They could have done that a long time ago. Likely trying to work a low ball deal with Cook like they did with Hitman. Cook likely testing the waters with his agent, but not sure how that works legally. Might not be allowed to talk to other teams without Vikings permission. More than a couple forces at work here. KAM is set to move on from Cook though at this point. He drafted two RB’s in two years.

Definitely feel better. Portion control, I drink coffee now and have cut out sweets. I get a handful of Zachary’s Chocolate covered pretzels a night with a small can of Diet Coke on ice. I eat slower, zero fast food (which was the hardest part and now it’s easy) If the wife and I go out I immediately request a container and will put half my meal in to take home. Still a work in progress. I was 275 when I was a PPCT instructor at NSP – which was almost 12 years ago.
I walk a lot too. Local rec center 2 blocks away with a track. I walk for an 45-60 minutes every other morning. Just started playing some 1/2 court 3 on 3 again.

The stereotype of the grumpy old man likely has its roots in a condition known as irritable male syndrome. It’s clinically referred to as andropause, or male menopause. Like female menopause, andropause includes physical and emotional changes that also seem dependent on changes in hormone levels.
