Either it bothers you that both VP candidates have been trying to pretend they are of the regular Joe or neither should bother you. Or just admit you don’t actually care and hold any of the principals to be true and don’t actually stand for anything because principals don’t matter because what matters is your side wins. That’s truth of it for most Americans.

OK, realistically, how do we feel about the Texans? C. J. Stroud is playing well behind a really good O-line, and a scheme custom built for him by a really good OC. Their defense is really good with Danielle on the war path. I think we can beat them, but man, it’s gonna be a long day.
is the vikings defense better than the bears defense? the texans looked super meh against the bears. I know lots of teams have meh games sometimes, so i’m not saying that’s the norm for the Texans. I think they proved they have a high powered offense plenty of times last year…
we have borderline elite tackles, so i don’t think Hunter and Anderson Jr will generate as many pressures as they did vs the bears…
I think Flores is coming into his prime now that he has players who can execute exactly what he wants. I could see similar happenings in this game as the 9ers game. a few 3 and outs by the texans, a few 20+ yard plays and a couple td’s etc…
this might be one of the better tests to see where the vikings are at. coming off a huge win against a really good team…
Agreed, and is the Vikings Defense and Offense better or the same as the Rams? The Texans didn’t exactly light up the Rams either, in week 1.
This should be a good game and will be fun to watch.

those are all weapons we will need. So hopefully they are healing well.
I am looking forward to it. If the Vikings can compete and look like they belong, I will be satisfied. A win is icing on the cake.
This whole season is playing with found money to me. I was just looking for consistent building to the future, and we are already 2-0 and leading the division.
Which ever team protects there QB better will have the best chance. Running game will help to quiet pass rush.
I think this is a very salient point JR. Whoever affects the QB play the most, is likely going to be the winner, and turnovers may be the deciding factor in the end.
I agree with you, the Vikings CAN beat them, but they are a very good team, and Stroud is playing very well.
I will not be shocked if the Vikings lose.

Texans are scary good, just like SF was.
But we are at home and playing good football.
It should hopefully be a good game and what more can we ask for?
A couple of weeks ago this all would seem to be a pipe dream.
Yeah, a couple weeks ago we were all wondering what the defense would look like, what the O-line would look like, what the running game would look like, and mostly what the QB and the passing game would look like. Through two games, every single one of those have looked great. So now, we’re feeling a lot better about the Vikings.
Watched this analysis last night.
Basically said that KOCs scheme had SF on their back heels all game, aka they were out coached.
We scored 23 points. Think the bigger issue was Flores defense confused Purdy and we held that offense to 17.
I think it worked on both sides.
They have a good team with lots of excellent players.
We had the edge in coaching on both sides but that didn’t guarantee a win.
Both teams made plays, coaching gave us an edge.
I’m just not sure about the scheme stuff.
Take the 97 yard TD. They had a perfect defense to stop that pass – 2 deep safeties in the middle. But, both stood their scratching their asses and got beat over the top. That’s just very poor play, n ot scheme in my opinion.
Now, I do think our defenses confused Purdy and I guess Shanahan didn’t have him ready, so that’s coaching.
The safety bit because they had run plays from the same formation earlier. KOC talked about it after the game. He said he’s had that play in the hopper for awhile and surprised himself to call it backed up like that, but the Niners bit on the cat and mouse game he was playing with them. That is a play that doesn’t happen early in the game because it took a setup to bait the Niners into biting on the underneath route.
I’d bet a fortune in the film room that there are two safties getting their asses schewed off. One for sure had deep coverage and in that position you never get beat over the top. And two did.
And then they couldn’t outrun the referee.
He also called the same play against San Fran lsat year and Kwerky chose to throw to the safe mid route with Addison screaming open deep. There’s a GIF out there that shows that. Darnold fired that thing a rope

He explained it in detail (much better than I can), multiple times saying that the Vikings scheme had the defense confused and unsure who was responsible for what.

That said, there were TWO safties standing there.
Now, I may have forgotten a great many things, but I can assure you that in every defensive film room in all of football in the country, ONE at minimum of those two had a primary responsibility to not get beat over the top.
The guy on the left should have been primary for the deep coverage, but he bit on the underneath route.
I had the unfortunate task of playing safety my freshman year in college, as I wasn’t a good enough QB.
First day of practice, DC took me over to the bench and showed me a spot on the bench and said – if we in single or two deep and you get beat over the top, that’s we’re you will be sitting rest of season.
I don’t care about scheme or WR in front of you, if you have deep responsibility, you do not bit short. Your error is simply not that way.

Both receivers had a step, Sam could have just as easily thrown to Speedy. Safety had to choose which to cover, the hesitation gave Jets time to get behind him.

Offense would have scored two other times if not for dumb turnovers by individual players.

Yeah, but Jones coughing it up on the 4 yard line has nothing to do with scheme. KOC was calling a successful drive and a bad play combined with a good play by two individual players negated that.
That happens. Warner is an all world LB. Heard a guy say yesterday that if Warner and Pace switched teams, we would have won 45 – 0.
And I’m not knocking KOC and his scheme – I very much believe in it. We’ve now beat the Niners two years in a row with it.
But I’m sure as hell not going to knock Shanahan and his scheme either.

That said, there is a huge difference between scheme and play call.
We also turned the ball over at the goal line twice, it was inches away from a Vikings blow out, give the offense some more credit there Jrob. Defense did kick ass though.
I do but I give our defense even more.
I think their secondary is suspect and can be passed on. (Colts did it pretty easily and they looked like ass against GB). I think they will score on us but I think we score as well and Sam Darnold has his first 300+ yard passing game as a Viking. Game comes down to a last second FG…for which team, I do not know. Their kicker has a monster leg as well.
