So this Foster Mother in Missouri traded a teenaged girl for a monkey. Telling the ‘exotic animal breeder’ that they could keep the girl but that the foster mom would ‘keep the check’ (from foster care).
The foster mom was convicted of Child Endangerment and sentenced to 7 years in prison. But the Judge suspended the sentence and gave the foster mom probation instead. But wait, there is more. The State was going to let the Foster Mom gets to keep her Foster Care License, at least the judge stopped that part.
After the Mom Murdering her 3 kids and getting a hung jury and the judge in Commifornia ordering the release of a murderer from ICE Detention I have lost almost all faith in the justice system.

Lots of good college football yesterday. How about that finish of the Michigan game? I think Western Michigan got robbed.
Sportscenter did a breakdown this morning of audio from the B1G officials booth as they were reviewing the play. Ball touched player out of bounds with one second left – they had the game clock alongside the replay. It was close, but looked to me like there was a second left when they showed the video.
tough way to lose for WM though.
Interesting, I only saw the replay by the broadcast team (NBC, I think). It clearly showed the clock at zero. I wonder why the B1G officials had a different clock?
Oh well. Western played very well and Michigan got VERY lucky.

Got home this morning at around 10 after an urgent care visit, went to take a shower this morning and slipped getting in and fell, busted my head open on the spout/faucet part, 7 stitches above my eye right along the eyebrow be careful out there especially if you have an old school porcelain tub

JR, I have been caring for my sister in Myrtle Beach. She’s bedridden and has hospice care, but it’s still work for me to help her with things. She’s also irritable at times, and I have to remind myself to not get crotchety with her. I haven’t played much golf, but the last time I went out and played 9 holes, I shot 43. Bogeyed all but two holes. My chipping and putting was miserable. Hit the ball off the tee decently, hit my irons decently too. Short game sucked.
I look at the posts here occasionally. Maybe once a week. I see the he-man Cousins hating knitting club is alive and well… grin. He’s gonna rule their brains forever.
I see the McCarthy era that Bow crowed about has fallen on hard times. I hope Kyler is a better fit, and we win 14 games this year.

Her two favorite football teams are the Vikings and the Packers, of all things. Loves Notre Dame football too. She thinks McCarthy is going to be a really great QB if he leaves the Vikings. I don’t argue with her. She needs all the good humor I can provide every day.

Can’t help but think that the WI court system is attempting to help the Pukers.
It’s just a preliminary hearing. But moving the hearing from Nov to this coming Thursday may have a huge impact on Jacobs availability.
There could be a plea, the case could get tossed and like magic, Goodell removes him from the exempt list to play week #1.
I think the move is more about making it easier and quicker for Goodell to impose a possible suspension sooner, rather than later.

After growing up a Husker fan and then living in the heart of it all the last 29 years I’ve seen personally the lengths locals will go to in order to protect their beloved teams.
From Johnny Rodgers to the Peter brothers to Lawrence Phillips and many, many more bad apples that did terrible shit, were terrible people and they had their hands slapped or it just disappeared. I’m guessing Green Bay, small as it is, is very similar. The NFL playing along is just par for the course.
I wonder when the next official depth chart comes out. It would be nice to see how the team ranks players coming out of camp

Not to get too deep into a bad situation…. but what are people’s thoughts on the Lindsey Clancy situation? Kinda wild in a few aspects.
The Lady strangled each of her kids one at a time after sending her husband out to give her time to do it. She obviously planned it out and knew what she was doing.
Did she have mental issues, obviously yes, did that mean she was not ‘responsible’ for what she did? I would vote that she is guilty of murdering them, but I did not hear all of the evidence nor have I ever had Post Partum Depression.
I am glad that I am not on the jury.
Being mentally unwell, depressed, anxious, etc is serious. Sounds like she was on a real polypharmacy. If I were her husband, it would be hard to forgive her but I don’t think sitting in jail for the rest of her days living on the taxpayer tit is the best outcome. I’m content to say I don’t know all the aspects of the case and I trust the jurors to come up with the best decision…in this case it sounds like one juror would not budge so they have to do it over again.
I do wonder how it would play out if it were, say, a father that killed his kids based on hearing voices and the like. Might not be as much sympathy there.
Nonetheless, I’m glad I’m not part of that affair.
Her husband divorced her and remarried, also had the kids cremated right away. This is not an easy case.
According to people on X, there are cases in the past where a father with mental disease has done something like this, and the jury came back within an hour and they were given the death sentence. It sickens me that she has a fan club defending her and feeling sorry for her. I, for one, believe she knew what she did was wrong (there is plenty of evidence that appears to confirm that) and she planned it, and I hope she suffers daily with what she did. It is truly one of the most evil things you can do – kill your children who love and trust you, and in the way she did….. just sickening.
And for the people who claim the mental insanity part…. I think every killer is mentally insane in some way or another. Normal people simply don’t do that. I think she needs to be held culpable.
I pretty much totally agree. I do have some sympathy for her though – who wants to live the rest of their life knowing their 3 kids are dead at her own hands? But she needs justice, and so do those poor kids.
Also, the fact that they gave out the info of 1 juror being a holdout is not supposed to happen. Whole trial is a mess.
Given her paralysis from jumping out the window, and now the negative publicity, it is highly unlikely she will ever be in a position to do something like this again.
I doubt she will ever work in a delivery room again, so danger to other children is unlikely as well.
However, she took the lives of her own 3 young children. Unforgivable. No matter what the circumstances that brought it on. What happens once can happen again. Life without parole would be the minimum sentence that would satisfy me.

People in wheelchairs interact without kids all the time; remember, Vince Li (now Will Baker) decapitated a stranger on a Greyhound bus outside Portage La Prairie and was found to be profoundly schizophrenic. He responded well to antipsychotic medications and was discharged to society a free man nine years later. You may think that he should enjoy three hots and a cot for all his days but he was evidently rehabilitated and is now a functioning member of society, without recidivism.
I for one think it would be extremely unpleasant to hear a loud male voice telling me to become a Packers fan all day long every day…I might eventually succumb to the voice.
In all seriousness, mental illness is every bit as severe as all the physical ailments I see shared on here, and deserves treatment. I was not on the jury, but would hope that if I am ever the defendant in the jury trial that the jurors would be as unbiased and open to the evidence as I would be.

I agree with this. Everyone has anxiety now, supposedly. That’s partly due to doctors and partly due to people thinking any sort of worry about anything is too much.

We saw constantly in Prison that inmates conned the mental health providers playing on their ‘compassion’ and their own mental issues.

Im here off and on! I got a super Box, which is basically the same thing. I know other who got a veesee box (if thats what you are talking about) they claim they run better but are $200 more. Mine has some bugs but they are easy to get around, if you have the ability to hard wire it for internet I would but the WIFI works, its just not a good card in there so it throttles network speed over wifi. But yeah, you get access to any TV Channel you can think of for free, including local new channels, for every state/ city. They also have NFL Network, Red Zone, all there as well as the ability to watch any game from any major sport, you can tap right in. I paid $250 for mine last March and its paid for itself already, and its really gonna get its work in this NFL season.

Absolutely! When you consider adding up streaming subscriptions or cable/ sat service, even with some bugs or occasional down time, its a money saver.
I would suggest a guest network, so it does not kill your throughput.

Using a guest wifi login will prevent the box from grabbing information available on your entire network.
You’re going to want access to as much bandwidth as possible if you are streaming. Also just adding a guest wifi network does not limit the shared bandwidth usage. You would have to manually throttle it if thats even a feature in his router. He’ll be fine unless he has a slower plan with his ISP

The gophers won last night and actually covered against a far inferior opponent, usually they go into run the clock out mode when they have a 14 or more point lead in the 2rd half but Philip John actually let his OC keep throwing the ball. I like the QB Drake , don’t know how he’ll do as a pro but for a freshman in the Big Ten he played well last year, surprised he and Taylor didn’t transfer after last year. Of course their ceiling is is still 9 wins at best but most likely 7, it’s nice to see the coach not take foot off the gas, even when he put in the backups.

Truly wonder how JJ feels today. Team captains announced, and while he was a captain last season, he now gets to watch Murray lead the team.

I’m optimistic about the Vikings this year.
Why? Why not? Pessimism has never set well with me. I don’t like dreading things. And I love football. All football. And I’ve only got so many revolutions around the sun on this rock and with it only so many Sundays left to root on my favorite team, the only team I’ve ever rooted for. So I’m optimistic. And I’ll watch every game. Every down, every play. Win or lose. If we win, great! If we lose, so be it – there’s a game next week. Win or lose, I won’t consider the time spent wasted. A day watching football, even losing football, still beats most everything else – but that’s just me. Kinda the same way a bad day of fishing beats a good day of work.
Plus, we’ve gone over all the pessimism already. All the bad. KOC isn’t a whisperer. McShithimself not the savior. Amputee in a wheelchair. Addison a hooker & Coke binge away from expulsion.
Reasons for my optimism:
Murray is a dynamic, albeit small, talent – his mobility and the scramble drill with our receivers should be a problem with defenses. He’s got home run speed at that position that defenses have to account for. I think we’ve got top 5 offensive potential. Jets has shown he’s a leader and I think he’s motivated to show he’s the WR1 in this league – I expect big things. Addison is legit a top 10 WR talent in this league (I think he’s even higher than that honestly, kid is extremely athletically gifted) Hockenson is finally healthy. Jennings brings the lunchpail mindset and a bully attitude – love the way he plays. Excited about Felton’s upside. Veteran RB’s and a Junebug rookie that can get upfield in a hurry. Think when healthy our OLine can be really good.
Defensive is top 5 – I trust in BFlo to keep offenses in suspense and off guard. Love the potential of Banks and the Fat Fruit (lol, thanks Ben) Redmond a stud who’s just getting better. Cash & Wilson flying around the ball. Golday versatile enough to fill in lots of places, including edge depth. Love the vet addition of Van Noy – another lunch pail guy. I like our rookie, Demmings to develop into a long term starter. Think Murphy and Rodgers are solid and able to make plays. Metellus a liability in coverage but a versatile defender in the box. Desperately want Hitman back (I just can’t let go, I admit)
Again, I’m choosing to be optimistic. Injuries and poor line play on both sides of the ball can scuttle things really fast. Regardless, I’ll be watching.

Is the Vikings 2026 cast of characters better than the Cardinals 2021 offense?
Weapons-wise, I think so. WRs are definitely better. TE and RB marginally better.
Oline? Arizona was probably better there in 2021 than the Vikings will be this year, but we’ll see.
Cardinals started 10-2 in 2021 and barely made the playoffs (thanks to a Vikings loss!) with an 11-6 record before getting blown out by the Rams in the wildcard round. That sounds like the ceiling for the Vikings’ season this year. Hope I’m wrong.
I think 10-11 is do able. Its not easy, at all, nothing is with this team. Sweep da Bores, split with the Fappers and Lions, lose close games to TB, Bills, NE, and probably 49ers. Win all others.
Different team, different cast and coaches, and even Murray is probably different. But I think one thing is still the same – he is one hell of a runner and scrambler. This usually causes defenses to use resources to keep him in the pocket as he is very dangerous out of the pocket. Those are resources that can’t be used in coverage and our Receivers should have big days.
Have to see how it plays out.

No kidding I have been playing AC:Odyssey for over two years now. I might play for two-three hours once a month.

My issue with Kirko taking Tues off is that he showed that during the season he was on QB show on netflix, while Mahomes is at the office working out each and every day. Also studying film while sitting with his family at home. Supremely focused on work during the season.
Off season is when you relax, for a few weeks, if you want to be a champion.
Mahomes still spent time with the family. Not as much, sure, but he has trophy’s vs an empty trophy case.
Kirko will only win a championship if the stars align like they did with Darnold. Great defense, O Line, running game, and rarely does the QB need to lift the team. Lots of QBs can succeed in that environment.

I was there twice over the past 15 months, including doing some bar hopping down town and didnt have any issues but that was primarily between the hotel and the stadium or the theater we went to down town.

Since I am semi-retiring (tomorrow is my last regular day then going down to one day a week), I didn’t expect anyone to do anything for me at work. When I arrived this morning, just before I opened the door, I hear someone say, “Is everyone ready”. I paused, looked in the door and saw a bunch of faces and then turned around and pretended to leave. When I came in they all yelled, “Congratulation!”. They had decorated the breakroom and my office. Even though I live and work in Wisconsin, they all know I’m a Viking Fan, so the streamers on my door where purple and gold. However, they put some green and gold streamers inside my office. I had to avoid those all day so I didn’t get burned by the evil that is the Packers. Everyone was very sneaky, because I had no clue they had been setting up a potluck for today. They had even tricked me because a couple of people had asked me if I wanted to go to the new Mexican restaurant that had just recently opened up next door, all the while they were planning my semi-retirement party. Since this was not a full retirement party, I got some loot, but mostly just fun stuff. For example, one gift was a package of napkins. Someone had bought about a 1000 of these cheap, horrible napkins for the breakroom and I had been complaining about them for a year at least. So, of course, they gave me one of the last packs that where left of them. I actually laughed out loud when I opened that gift. I’m lucky to work with such a great group of people. At least I will get to hang out with them one day a week until I decide to call it quits completely.

My boss gave me a brainless project to do if I have any downtime on my one day per week that I’m there. I told her I wasn’t sure how much of it I would be able to do. She said that it didn’t need to be done fast and that it was for job security. So it sounds like she does want me around for awhile.

We just put up Broncos streamers in the pastor’s office for his return from sabbatical on Tuesday. I’m tempted to hide a Raiders something-or-other somewhere in there, but I don’t own anything from that team and I’m not about to actually buy something.
I used to print off Vikings logos and images (like Randy’s “despicable act”) just on regular printer paper, cut them out and hide them in a Packer fan’s office to be found randomly into the future.

Had another diehard Packer fan friend ask me to check on his dog when he was on vacation. I knew he had a camera facing his front door, so every morning I’d put on my Brett Favre Vikings jersey, would hold a Vikings picture while looking at it and walking by the camera, then as I walked out after checking on his dog I’d look my empty hands with a quizzical look on my face as I walked to my car.
He texted me, “Stop it! I know what you’re doing!”

I have been a Chicago Cub fan for close to 70 years. For the first 60 of that adventure they never failed to find a way to lose a game, or blow an opportunity. Someone ever wrote a book what its like to be Cub fan – year after year, decade after decade.
Then one day and even almost blowing it, they won it all.
If the Cubs can do it, so can the Vikings.
It got to the point where I was drinking too much, swearing loudly, and upsetting the people I care about. That’s when I decided to hold the team at arm’s length.
Arm’s length is good, but one can have hope too.

Last year we had tbe 6th lowrst rushing attempts, but also 6th lowest passing attempts. In general, the offense just sucked
When you’re that low on both rushing AND passing attempts, you’re either punting a lot or having a lot of BIG plays. Minnesota had fewer than 1000 plays from scrimmage last year, along with only the Raiders and Dolphins.
When I looked at the breakdown I saw the Vikings were 6th lowest for rush attempts and 5th lowest for pass attempts. A big part of that is 60 sacks on offense. Only the Raiders had more (64).
6.6 yards per passing attempt is pretty bad.
4.5 yards per rushing attempt is pretty decent, especially with only 7 carries going for 20+ yards and only 1 going for 40+ (65). That means consistent. Possible that a good chunk of that was running on passing downs to buy the punter some more field position or hope for a missed tackle (think draw or delay on 3rd and long).
The Vikings were 4th lowest for passing TDs, but middle of the pack for rushing TDs.
The big one: Fewest 3rd down conversions on offense in the league. 62 (out of 195) which is 31.8% or close to 3 for 10. Yikes.
TL;DR, the offense sucked
Yes, and the passing offense particularly sucked. The rushing offense was OK, probably partially because defenses were focused on Justin Jefferson.
Well, McSucks was mostly the starter, so there’s that, Wentz is moderately ok as a backup but played injured and Brosmer is spergon Wynn level bad
Breakdown of the 60 sacks suggests we can expect to be somewhere closer to the middle of the pack if Murray can stay healthy and avoid half of the 26 sacks blamed on the QB in 2025.
Offensive Line: Directly blamed for 26 sacks (43.3% of the total), though only 10 of those were charged to the starting five linemen due to heavy reliance on backups.
Quarterback: Directly blamed for 18 sacks (30%), stemming from young/backup QBs holding onto the ball too long or drifting into pressure.
No Responsibility / Scheme: Credited with 12 sacks (20%), which includes unblocked overload blitzes or complex stunts where protection was simply outnumbered.
Skill Positions (RB/WS/TE): Blamed for 4 sacks (6.7%) due to missed assignments or slips in pass blocking.
Is there reason to believe the offensive line will be better this year? Maybe. There were a lot of injuries last year.
If they can stay healthy, especially darrisaw, they’ll be better

Performed a procedure today, patient needed some preprocedural lab work before I could safely gouge them, something happened with lab that it took 90 minutes to get results back, technologists were telling me the husband was irate in the waiting room dropping f bombs and the like and I told them to tell him to shape up or ship out. Results come back, I go consent the patient, she keeps saying “just get it done” (same thing my wife says) so I fly through the procedure, go out with her to talk with the husband, he looks like fury incarnate, plus he is a foot taller than I, which is pretty darn tall. Here I was hoping for a little shrimpy I could intimidate and say “don’t be swearing at my techs, it wasn’t their fault”.

life has been a bit hectic and crazy lately….
2 of my kids had birthdays in the last month, enjoyed fun birthday activities with them.
went on vacation for a week to door county, amazing beautiful time with my family and parents
my coworker (of 20 years) his wife had a massive stroke and died suddenly less than 2 weeks ago, so been dealing with that tragedy, so sad
my mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer last week, so dealing with that currently. MRI done, meeting with doctor in a couple days and my wife will be spending a week or so with her parents before and after surgery
my wife’s cousin (we are close with) her husband of less than 1 year, fell off a ladder and hit his head and died suddenly last week.
It’s been quite the last month, good and bad.
BUT what i will say, and what i have been telling my children and encouraging my wife with….we rejoice when we have trials and hard things, because we are NEVER promised ONLY good in life. it’s the hard times that bring us closest with the Lord. Why only rejoice in the good times, because the Lord gives both good and hard. We must continue to praise Him through the storm.
Amen. Sorry about the trials though, brother. Prayers they keep making you all stronger in trusting Him.

We have a solid defense with a very good DC.
We have elite receivers.
Then there’s Murray. What a problem for defenses with our weapons. You let him run around like he does, and Jefferson and Addison will have huge years. You play to keep him in the pocket, split wide, good opportunities for the running game between the tackles.
Think maybe KOC will alter offense to take advantage of Murray’s mobility too.
The Rams worry me, but not to many others.
Oh, one last thought. Money is a great motivator and Murray has a lot to prove.
He’s made like 170 mil already, not sure how motivated by money he is at this point

Spending a few days this weekend staying with Tucker Kraft’s stepdad, hopefully I can talk him into swaying Tuck to leave the Packers and jump ship the team the both loved before he got drafted lol.

team history, and I am a 63 year old that has been a fan since 5 years old.
Normally I am very excited this time of year, and by the end of October I have decided to watch the games after the fact vs live since they keep failing.
This season I would love to see them crush FTP week one, but literally have no idea what to expect from the offense. Our QB has had some success, but never sustained success. Hard for me to get excited. With JJ last season, I could make mental excuses in my head figuring that eventually he will suck less. Now I am not so sure.
That’s living int he past! 63 years and that argument only works if they have sucked for most of that time, especially if it was recently I’d get that. Like the Browns or the Jets. But actually for the 63 years they have been a pretty damn good team who just hasn’t won the big one.
Been hurt too many times. Too much hope in the wrong years.
Perhaps you need to redefine your expectations? Set the bar a little lower and set your hopes up for success.
New goals that would constitute a successful season:
a TDin every game (let’s be real)I appreciate the idea, but my bar is conference championship win. I don’t get my hopes up unless there are good reasons to believe the team has a good chance to get there (2009, 2017 [although Keenum’s throws were worrisome as the WRs were risking injury to make catches]) or it feels like a destiny year (2012, 2022).
The endings of those seasons were rough. Gregg Williams. Keenum-pumpkin nearly wrecked another *aints playoff game, but the miracle made the next game so much worse. Peterson runs his heart out for inevitable Ponder/Webb experience, and Cousins throws short of the sticks to end the season.
Infuriating.
I try to tell my wife this same thing all the time. If she doesn’t listen why should I?

When I was a kid my dad was always positive, I mean until things started going sideways during a game I remember him throwing his cowboy bout at the tv and he usually swore a lot, but gradually became more doomer over the years and eventually totally apathetic, he pretty much didn’t watch anymore last season before he died. He was a die hard fan since his parents got a tv but the same shit every year wore him down.
Similar situation with my Dad…..diehard Viking fan from the start, he was a member of the “Just one before I die…well, next year we’ll get them” club.
He lost interest the last year he was alive, but at least in his case it was because his dementia was advancing, not because he became a doomer.
Sorry to hear about your dad. Mine’s got Parkinson’s and he seems to not care about the team at all any more. My mom still hoots and hollers at the games though, apparently.

Parkinson’s is rough. Though it is tied to a couple dementias, many of my Parkinson’s patients retain a good mind, but the body fails them. Dementia usually sets in 5-10 years later (except Lewy Body, which if they develop it appears about a year after physical symptoms).
As opposed to Alzheimer’s, where the mind goes first but they remain able-bodied until the later stages.
It’s been a journey. There’s a lot I don’t know about the illness in general, but I’ve learned a lot about one instance of the illness through personal experience.
He’s getting pretty bad at some stuff he used to be able to do easily. Even mental stuff. But he’s joyful. I’d like to be like him when I grow up.
I see a trend of giving up on the Vikings and dying. That makes me worried since I haven’t cared less going into a year than this year.
It could be that being a year from dying makes the things of this earth grow strangely dim.
I have been very apathetic for 3 seasons straight, this’ll be my 4th. Still alive, though! 🙂

I feel like I’m on your dad’s path. Been a fan since the playoffs after the 87′ season (I was 6). Positive, passionate, furious, hopeful, angry, quiet, apathetic. There are moments and stretches that deviate, but the overall trend is a slow slide into BLEH.

I’ve been, watching my whole life, it was required viewing for my dad and he was very passionate but later in life he’d have the game on but just as background noise basically

Thank you. He’s been pretty resilient already, and I’m grateful. We’ve already had at least a year if “might be the last _______” (Christmas/FathersDay/Cabin/etc), so every get together now feels like a bonus.
I have gone through apathy several times. After the 98 collapse, 41-0, the love boat. When they traded moss I stopped watching until the Zombie Favre year. Quit again, then they hired zim and drafted Teddy and I bought in again. Stayed a focused fan until Kirko showed me how bad he can be in 2018 so stayed around to complain, but rarely watched entire games.
Sam Darnold and Keenum both gave me fun seasons unexpectedly, then failure of course. Still, it would be nice if that happens this year. Not seeing it, but I felt the same about both of those guys too.
Honestly, if the weather is nice, I will do something outside like golf or whatever, and watch the replay if they win.
Once there is snow on the ground, I will watch more because I hate snow.
Archery season opens on Saturday. I should have something to do every weekend until at least after Thanksgiving.
One of the guitar players in my band is Tuckers Cousin. He’s a Rams fan and now that he knows im a Vikings fan he gives me endless shit and cheers for the Packers too because “family” …*sigh*
