Look at this stat over at Statmuse, Justin Jefferson now has the most 100+ receiving yard games than any player in NFL history. With Sunday’s performance, his 21 games with 100+ receiving yards beat Randy Moss and Odell Beckham Jr., who were tied at the lead with 20.

I went and checked it out with a flashlight, was a mule deer doe, looked like it had been shot in the hindquarters. Thought to myself this should prove handy for coyote hunting this weekend…snowed some last night and as I’m walking the dog I see the carcass has moved. Coyotes had damn near cleaned it up overnight, could barely see their tracks for the snowfall. Efficient buggers.

I’m glad my garage has a double door, but a third stall with no door. I put the boat there, but there’s still enough room for a couple of work surfaces and some storage.

Garage became a priority two years ago, since the floor slabs had heaved. A lot. Turns out no rebar. buyer beware with new construction.
So, new floor with fancy coating. Painted the walls finally, and got the golf net so I can practice playing better next season.
Also, I have like 7 tools, since I do not really do home improvement things. so they are easier to find.
The epoxy clear coat I put down in the shop is so smooth that when I walk on it with snow or melting water on my boots I am skating. Good thing I learned to skate in the great white north.

I was wiring up a 240V outlet last night for my beer brewing setup and nearly pulled the plug (literally) on wiring into the existing breaker that, as best I can tell, doesn’t power anything important.
But right before I shut off the main breaker, I thought “Yeah, maybe 8:30 PM isn’t a great time to shut down power to the entire house. God forbid something doesn’t start back up.”
Will be doing that today after work and praying I don’t fry anything – mostly myself.

I said I’d stay away from anything with breakers when I bought the house, but having sunk a few hundo into this equipment before realizing I don’t have an outlet to use it… I kinda forced my own hand.

they are good kids, and they love to pretend to fix things and do that kind of stuff, but i am seeing a failure as a father is not encouraging/teaching them to put things away where they found them. And also to be respectful of other people’s things.
I taught my son how if we borrow something from someone (borrowed friends thule) that we return it better than we received it (washed it and got it all spiffy looking before returning)….so there are always more lessons to teach.
My dad gave us each a small wooden ‘toolbox’ with like 4 tools in it, I think that must have worked pretty well to keep us out of the good stuff.

Bills’ first series – should have been the first INT (likely not a pick-6, he would have been caught from behind). The other “shoulda been” INT was the tip drill where 3 Vikings either had a hand on it or were close enough to make the catch.
So, we could have had 4 INTs, but then making the first INT sets probability on a different course and the others may not have ever happened…………

PFF grades each player individually. They’re all useful as tools, none of them as a be-all, end-all. I like that there are different tools like that, gives some perspective. They’re useful, if they’re used correctly, and not pointed to as THE answer.

I’ve been trying to figure out the DVOA thing.
is it solely based on play outcomes and that’s it?
A couple of notes here:
“League baseline” seems to include more than the current season, as the 16th/17th ranked teams don’t always straddle 0.0% DVOA.
“On situation” means that down and distance matter, and current score, remaining time in the half, number of timeouts remaining, etc all factor into the value of the outcome of the play.
For example: a 9 yard gain on 2nd & 10 is high value unless the play started with 0:08 remaining in the first half, the team has no timeouts, and the player didn’t run out of bounds.

I don’t fully understand it, but when I read the articles, I hear the authors’ passion for the game and they freely admit the model has its deficiencies. Also, they answer questions in the comments and their answers give me confidence in the system for being a major component of how I think about the teams and how the Vikings could win upcoming games, etc.

The 8-1 Vikings have a DVOA of -3.1
The 3-7 Jaguars have a DVOA of -3.4
According to DVOA, we are the Jaguars.
A quick look at the most basic stats like yards and points will show you the obvious problems here.
Jags offense are 7th in yards but 21th in points on offense.
Vikings offense is 11th in yards but 8th in points.
So according to DVOA the jags have the 10th best offense compared to the Vikings 17th offense.
In the real world, the Vikings scoring more points = more wins.

Kirk hit some really tough throws in the 4th.
He did. I’ve never been a huge fan of the guy’s contract, but he has the arm to make throws that a lot of QBs can’t make. Not saying he’s worth what we’re paying him, but he’s got the arm.
KOC has also created a much better atmosphere where Kirk seems less standoffish.
