Is the Viking pass rush sufficient as of now?

Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
Will we make it to 300 comments for the 2nd time this week?
Yes we will.
Yeah us!!
Twins Win!!
Defeat the Dodgers 3-2 to climb to 4-6.
6 whole hits a 10 Strikeouts.
WOW! I was wrong!
Not to worry,
Suspect you will be right about them quite frequently.
LMFAO. Student lone forgiveness now sniffer hinting at a border shut down. Not trying to buy votes right? Money to battle ground states. This country is becoming a joke.
Get ready for war with Iran.
Desperate times for him.
See they think Iran going to launch strategic missiles on Israel. Then what?
Israel will retaliate with theirs and then it depends on if the other Arab States jump in to support Iran or not.
I think mostly not.
Iran doesn’t want war, they have almost nothing.
They can get their surrogates to try stuff but nothing large scale.
Politicians are going to Politic.
Curious about Tiger. Think he misses cut or body checks out.
I will never rule out Tiger, but I don’t think he finishes two rounds and withdrawals.
Doubt he can handle it. Body used up for many reasons.
I was watching him on the range yesterday and he looks good physically, and was hitting the ball great. I would say he has enough game to make the cut, and maybe even be in the mix over the weekend. Just depends if his body holds up. One reporter asked him in his presser if he was in a lot of pain, and if he was taking pain killers. Tiger just responded “I’m always in pain”.
Sorry SCMV. Tomorrow is one of my favorite days. The Masters starts and I love the tradition of the Honorary Starters. Tomorrows starters are Player, Watson, and Nicklaus.
Neat to watch.
Same… I took most of today off (although I still have a meeting tonight at 6:30) and I have just one meeting scheduled tomorrow. Friday I’m totally off the work net, to see what happens at Augusta National. I will be watching several players, not just Tiger. Interested in seeing Rory do well, and of course I’m still hoping Rickie Fowler finds his game this week (not likely). I’ll also watch Jason Day.
Watching the opening ceremony with Jack, Gary, and Tom ought to be awesome, as you said.
Dude, you are closer to Augusta, wondering about early grouping with weather. Sounds windy, maybe wet. A few strokes on that course are hard to get back.
Yes, weather today will be a factor. Mostly the wind. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph all day. Heavy downpours and rain will be present till 9 a.m. I think. So initially the course is going to be very wet and slow. Will be better when Tiger tees off late in the day, but the winds will wreak some havoc. Early groups will have it the worst.
Heard Jack once say when he was older the Masters was the one course he still had a chance to win. He knew every shot to hit and knew every put on. the toughest putting greens in the world. And the course really has no rough to deal with. He almost won at 57.
Believe Tiger has same knowledge and advantage like Jack. And Tiger is also like Jack in. that as they got older, they could still put. In fact, the two best pressure putters of all time.
The Masters is the best.
Im done with tax returns Friday.
All I’m doing this weekend is watching the masters, and napping.
I just got back home from a trip to Minnesota, to attend my Brother-in Law’s funeral. Sad times, but he was very sick. He is in a better place, now.
Are you guys still talking about Cousins? WTF?
Condolences on your brothers passing.
Been there done that although my brother went quickly, embolism.
Personally I wasn’t talking about KC, I was talking about people who said someone couldn’t talk about KC.
I generally stay away from the Kirk discussions now days but I feel if others bring him up fine.
Kind of the same way I feel about golf.
Thanks for the condolences.
I also try to stay away from the Kirk debate. It is time to look forward. I can’t wait for the draft! Let’s go! SKOL!
Sorry for your loss. Hope the sad times pass quickly.
Thank you.
It appears today this was a Vikings AND a Falcons sub. Interesting. Also it appears at least two others were down voting while I was gone today, huh…thought I was the only one…strange? Oh well, looking forward to more VIKINGS talk here. Draft can not come soon enough.
It’s weird to leave a comment and then a couple minutes later be told that you need to log in.
Sometimes i check in and see it’s slow today, then 2 hours later noticed site kicked me to the curb.
Used to happen to me frequently, not quite so much lately.
The logic of it still escapes me though.
I would assume it is the browser refresh set up.
Like when you leave the site or the internet, the web browser is set to clear your activity and thus, you must sign in again.
Who knows.
My next best guess is election interference.
Its the Vikings FO trying to secretly see what we think they should do in the draft
One does not have to go anywhere for it to happen.
You can post a comment, move to the next one and try to reply and told that ‘you have to be logged in to comment’.
I figure the DOJ/FBI is trolling for Insurrectionist/Racist/Nazis/White Supremeists AKA Mega types.
That happened to me. I left a gif comment and then a little ways down the thread I tried give a thumbs up, but it told me I had to be logged in to do that? I was very confused. I was just logged in a minute or two before that.
Yes pretty frustrating when it happens.
But then I think ‘1st World Problem’ and get over it.
It’s the FBI tracking your every move.
Na, they only do sites with a fair number. of conservatives.
I just wanted to make sure you were legit.
Pretty amazing about JJ (WR JJ not QB JJ) giving the Vikings plan a ‘Vote of Confidence’ without actually saying anything.
https://fansided.com/posts/vikings-just-got-vote-of-confidence-from-most-important-player-path-forward-justin-jefferson-01hv20eg5e03?
Yeah, the article has other people saying they think JJ is good with working with a different QB… not JJ saying that. JJ knows it’s a business though, and all he can control is what he does on the field, nothing else.
I’ll say this about Darnold. If you give him solid protection, and clear throwing lanes, he will get it done. He is very bad when blitzed, and pressured though. Obviously I’m not the only one who knows this.
One would think that if the Braintrust knew that they would have tried harder to upgrade the IOL during Free Agency.
When was the last time IOL was a priority?
I am old but not old enough to know about that.
Laughing
RE: QotD – When I read the question a scene from the movie’ Moneyball’ came to mind. The discussion between scouts and GM Billy Bean (Brad Pitt) centered around replacing Giambi’s production, scouts wanted a single similar producing player, GM wanted several cheaper players whos sum would equal Giambi’s production. I think BFlo may be able to do that with the additions. No Pro Bowl guys but similar production to Hunter.
Well said
I like the ‘lets meet at the QB’ approach.
You may be right. sort of like four B players will do better that one A and three C’s.
the annoying thing about that movie is that while they lost Giambi’s production and filled his numbers with multiple cheaper players, that team had the league MVP that year also the CY young award winner…
so saying we could get a couple cheaper options to replace Hunter using the moneyball logic….would suggest we sure as heck better have 2 all pros show up on defense to mitigate the lack of production from the multiple players replacing hunters numbers….
Yeah, its not like having probably the best rotation in baseball at the time had anything to do with anything to do with their success, they also had Tejada, Chavez, and Dye in their primes and all star players.
EXACTLY which is why i hate that movie and the idea that “small ball” got them to where they were. Literally 2 20 game winners (one of them won the Cy Young), best closer in the game that year, the AL MVP, best 3rd baseman in his prime.
Is pitching important?
pitching in baseball is as important as defense in football…
so no, not very important
Big game tonight approaching the end of the NHL regular season, Oilers host the Knights, a team they have struggled with.
Right now, the Oilers are the favorite of the Canadian teams to finally bring home the cup. But if the road goes through Vegas they are gonna struggle. It’s probably the Oilers logos they put in the urinals.
Not to Kfey
Never gonna let me live that down are you?
Make one mistake and no one forgets it just ask Freezy.
there are 2 people in this world….
pitchers and catchers, and kfey is the pudge rodriguez of the catching world
*cringes*
Also, I highly recommend Babb’s Coffee House in Jamestown. Great coffee, great breakfast.
Shitty music, but nobody’s perfect.
I guess we better behave now since the Boss in back in the house.
Ben’s here?
He must not be since we haven’t see a Summary is ages.
There haven’t been enough comments to summarize lately
But if there were more summaries there would be more comments no??
I have a former co-worker buddy who lives in Jamestown. I see him post a BBQ food truck all the time you might want to check out if that is where you are.
I’ll have to check it out. Let me know the name of it, I’m in Jamestown a couple times a month.

The Vikings will draft Penix. Don’t listen to what you’re hearing, listen to what you’re not hearing.
^^IT’S ALIVE!
Alive & well, full of piss & vinegar, as always.
That’s another saying that makes no sense. If your body was full of piss & vinegar, you’d die of sepsis, not? Weird.
I’m mostly full of shit, doubt that is good either.
Yeah, that would seem to be especially dangerous.
My dad (and now I) routinely uses the phrase “ain’t smart enough to poor piss out of a boot”
But….
WHO PEED IN THE BOOTS IN THE FIRST PLACE?
The dumbass that can’t figure out how to poor it out. Duh
I figure it could be any of the top 6 or none if the price is too high or they are not that comfortable with Nix/Penix.
I actually kinda think you may be right. Also, Goose can’t believe you’re here….
Puppeh
Hey GF, great to see you around! I haven’t watched Penix play, or really assessed him. Hopefully if we take him, he can get the job done. Gonna be interesting.
I like how he plays, his injury history concerns me. He seems like the type of QB that KOC is looking for.
Let’s hope it’s a match made in heaven then.
It was his knees or 1 knee multiple times or something right? Has there been any notable QBs in recent history that had injury issues in college, came out and were fine? Especially with how the NFL protects those big babies?
Lefty. Strong arm. Mobile. Bad knee injury history but clean bill of health – but so did Sam Bradford. Allegedly has no intermediate game. Older for a rookie.
Saw him play at both Indiana (underwhelming mainly) and Washington (exhilarating at times)
Think the Vikes sent a large contingent to Washington for either pro day or private workout?
Injury history with his knees scares the hell out of me.
Think Dan Fouts played his whole career on bad knees.
I don’t doubt it. I know Namath and Unitas both tried to extend their careers on bad knees and it didn’t end well for either. They were shells of themselves.
Yes
I’ve heard they want to draft Penix, JJ, Maye, Daniels, and Nix
Penix would provide a fella with endless amounts of joke material. He’s a writer’s dream.
Oh yeah
Have heard that The CryBaby and Daniels are pretty much locked into #1 and #2.
Daniels has not scheduled a workout with the Vikes because he is sure the Redskins are going to take him, reportedly.
I would be fine with that.
Penix and a stud D lineman in round 1.
Has anyone talked about Kirk Cousins today? Asking for a Bow
Heard he signed with some NFCS team.
Heard he signed with
some NFCS teamthe next superb owl winning team. FTFYI think every time Bow shows up, we should ask him his opinion of Kirk Cousins… grin.
Oh, you can talk about Cousins all day long – but it has to be negative.
You positive about that?
Negative
When we were down in Orlando, I met a fella who knew Kirk & his wife. Nice fella.
Kirk or the fella?
The fella, his wife seemed nice too. Kirk wasn’t there, unfortunately.
where were you at in Orlando?
Around where I live, he is very well thought of.
Was it NLNVF? haha
Laughing… nope. I’ve never met Cousins. I would definitely by GF a beverage of his choice though if he and I met.
Probably has bodies in his crawl space. Looks are deceiving.
lolz
How true, LOL!
QotD:
No.
Wait….. Yes.
Wait…. Maybe?
The additions of Van Ginkel and Greenard are a boost – on paper. Even with the loss of Hunter I expect those two can be a formidable duo off the edges.
We still need an interior presence. A IDL that can rush the pass, but ideally one that is more than anything, disruptive in the middle. It’s great if they can get home from the middle, but I think it’s just as important to be disruptive, eat up blocks and have the ability to throw off timing and close up passing windows.
I expect Flores will continue to be blitz heavy in his scheme and that IPJr and Cashman will be heavily involved in bringing pressure up the interior – part of that is BFlo’s natural aggressive tendencies and the other part is out of necessity as we currently don’t have an IDL that can do all of those things.
We need big fellas on both sides of the ball. Our interior line in subpar on both sides of the ball. @At least we have a bright spot in Ingram@
I’ll do it. I am 6’2″ and 150 lbs, so pretty big.
On an unrelated note, is it illegal to pick up a player and throw them at another player (rag-doll like)?
I think Reggie White did that to one of our TE or WR who tried to block him on a sweep.
Threw him at the ball carrier and then went in for the kill.
Impressive and sad at the same time.
McCarthy ain’t got time for partying or chasing girls
Sounds like Cousins… grin.
That’s what put me out of the running. I have 4 years of eligibility left, but…….
D.E. Vikings posted below.
“But we can’t draft a stud D-lineman because we need a QBOTF.
Unless there is one in rounds 5,6 or 7.”
There are two decent ones that are rated around 5th Round.
Gabe Hall, DT, Baylor: 6 – 6, 291, RAS: 9.25
Very similar to B. Murphy who is 6’0″, 297, RAS 9.23 but without the Speed and Flexibility but his energy and hustle levels are excellent, and can be had about 150 picks later.
DT Khristian Boyd, Northern Iowa, 6’2″, 329, Good size, but lacking length, he was among the most productive and highest graded pass rushing defensive tackles the last couple seasons. The Vikings had him in for a Top 30 visit. He was featured in the Brent Kollmann Video I posted earlier this week.
Well, I hope that it does work out that way.
Hall is more the Anchor against the run type and Boyd is more the disruptor/rusher as the film shows.
I target Boyd in the 4th usually if I can’t get Murphy II as we need the interior pass rush IMHO.
It’s good in theory but how many other teams have this exact thought then one values them a little more than you and drafts them in the 3rd or 4th then you’re screwed.
Someone might pick them before you?
True of every player in the draft.
Except the The CryBaby of course.
Well yeah, I am just saying that these late round diamonds, we can’t be the only ones who see them as a great late round option. Like clearly it’s not a secret. So banking on landing a stud DL in the late rounds even with a target in mind could bite you in the ass and leave you without.
Not ‘Banking’ on anything.
It is all a crapshoot. Murphy II would be Plan A. There are about 16 DT between him and the ones I listed. I would prefer Sweat as Plan B but we don’t have a 2nd rd pick.
So having options later in the draft is smart, again IMHO.
Think there’s any chance Sweat falls given the recent DUI arrest?
Just need a video of him smoking weed to be released on draft night too.
I’ll work on that.
Might want to let KAM know so he is ‘in on it’.
After the combine he moved up to mid round 1 on some boards, he might drop a bit from that.
I think he could be had at #23 if we valued him enough and we didn’t need that pick to trade up for a QB.
Can’t imagine him falling 108 where we have our next pick.
I wouldn’t think so either – for that matter the DUI may be enough for him to be off Minny’s board. After the ‘Love Boat’ the Wilfs are terrified of scandal and/or guys with character flaws.
I’m just enamored with his size and strength, but who knows? He could be the next Terrance Cody
Yep. What are the odds a 5th rounder or later is better than a 1st rounder?
No one said that they would be better.
They are fallback options if you can’t get your guy.
K, I just don’t get hopeful about late round steals pre-draft shit because too much has to fall in line for it to happen. That’s all.
I don’t follow the Twins. What is going on with them?
I thought they were supposed to be good now for the past few seasons, but their record is not reflecting this currently.
Well Arnold went on to become Governor of California and Danny has been starring on ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ for the last 15 years or so….

I wonder if I could finally take down Arnold. He is going on 80. This is my window!
No. You can’t. I know you’re tall and undoubtedly formidable. But no.
My understanding is that Arnold is very approachable in public. He’s very aware of his popularity and what he means to fans and according to comedian Bert Kreischer ‘everybody gets their minute’ when meeting Arnold.
So that may be your window. He’s approachable and nice and it’ll give you a chance to dry gulch him and run….
We need Arnold. He has experience battling the evil AI robots that will be here soon.
I wrote a letter to Arnold once.
He never replied…
He doesn’t realize the enemy he made that day…
They’re meh but play in the worst division in MLB, and they went ahead and cut 40 mil in payroll for this season
I heard attendance is down. Even the opening day wasn’t a sellout. Fans are pissed. We finally win a playoff series and the Polads respond my cutting payroll….
An empty stadium might get the owners’ attention.
Professional sports are so weird of a product. Even when teams suck, fans keep lining up.
People will turn on a person for Tweeting one wrong thing, but they will devote their lives to pro teams who do the wrong thing every day!
Pohlads just like counting money.
You say that like it is a bad thing.
The Teacher and I counted ours after filling all of the taxes and looking toward next year.
When’s teachers last day? Think you said Idaho by August. House on market?
Her last week is early June,
Not putting the Calif house on the traditional market planning on going with a ‘cash offer’ to avoid Realtor drama and fees.
Can’t hit worth a shit and SO a ton. Unwatchable for me.
I think the last time I paid attention to a Twins game was a playoff game on the radio against the Yankees where Nathan was pitching.
They lost.
Like a competitive BB team, a bridge to football. Not seeing it.
They had to go cheap with the payroll this year, due to BSN going bankrupt and no TV contract. At least until it was to late to sign anyone. They had to let a bunch of their pitchers go and the only guy that seems to be able to hit a ball is on the IL.
Guess should feel privileged today. Just sent my taxes off and paid some more.
Glad to help all the boys in Washington out, but think I’ll have a few extra drinks tonight.
Ain’t a snowballs chance in hell we make it to your other favorite number…
420 is just fun – but my favorite number is 77. RIP Korey Stringer
That’s fair, my favorite number is 93!
Mark Wilf said in March about the team’s quarterback plan, “When it comes to the quarterback position, it’s certainly critical, and Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and coach Kevin O’Connell are working hard. We’ve got a plan, and Sam Darnold is part of it. We’re excited he’s in the building, and we’re excited we have two first-round picks, so we’ll see where it all goes. We have a lot of flexibility, and we’ll see what happens.”
So… we have a plan, and the plan is to see what happens… brilliant.
Or part of the plan is to not tell every other team in the league what your plan is and voluntarily give up what flexibility you have.
That is what makes this time of year both frustrating and exciting.
Yea – sounds like a politician or a salesman. A little of this, maybe a little of that and then we’ll see. A lot of words, all sounds nice.
Right?
Correct.
“We want to move to #3 and take JJ McCarthy. We demand nothing less”
Oh pish… he just didn’t want to say the exact plan with the draft looming.
Just like, “I want to retire a Viking and it’s not about the money”
That was a completely true statement by the way…
It was… you just hate Cousins…
Nope… totally true.
You’re right. You know more about everybody than they know about themselves. What do I want for lunch today? I don’t know if I can decide on my own without your help.
You’re extrapolating on reality… I can’t help you Bow.
You are literally telling me how I feel and that I don’t believe what I believe. That’s not extrapolating. You have a God complex and everybody is beneath you.
No, I’m correcting the record.
Riiigghhttt, just telling me what my beliefs and thoughts are because you are better than everybody. Got it.
Really – “God complex.” What part of being ‘cool’ to one another does that fall under?
You going to tell to leave next?
The same part where you tell people how they think and believe. I know what my beliefs are and I don’t need somebody to tell me what they are and act all high and mighty.
Because he said ‘your extrapolating’ you counter with ‘God complex.’
And I’d pay $500 right now to get an impartial observer to read your and his interchange, and let them say who was acting without attacking the other.
And, I’d bet even more on the outcome of that review.
Yes, telling me I hate somebody is no big deal and a simple your wrong response was out of line even though its not true. You’re right, when somebody tries to tell me what my beliefs are as they do repeatedly with others and tell others how wrong they are in a matter of fact way I should just let it go. Maybe he can tell me who else I like and hate because obviously I don’t know.
I have not told you how to think – period on that!
Are we to be cool with one another or not?
You didn’t but he very directly told me what my beliefs are and that what I believe is not what I believe.
So the rule around here is we can go to the lowest common denominator with our behavior?
And I’d say, and I don’t give a shit, you may have taken something one way that wasn’t meant that way.
I’ll review it right now for $8 and 1/2 a meatball sub
What again??
I guess as an Admin he doesn’t have to tell him he could just Ban him.
I’ve never even threatened to ban anybody.

You can take that suggestion or move the f on. Kirk is gone and he wasn’t great. He was good and paid more than he was worth. I don’t give to damns how many tds he threw or how many oline excuses you want to make. At the end of the day, he’s wasn’t good enough and now he’s gone. Move on from him or move on with him. I really don’t care which, but pick one. You’re still in love with the milquetoast girl who you were gonna break up with but she beat you to the punch for somebody with more money. Get over yourself’
Right, telling someone to ‘move the F on’ is in no way a threat, especially coming from an Admin.
Move on from Kirk and if he is your reason for being a fan move on with him. Why must we continue to sing the praises of somebody that plays for a different team? Kirk Cousins plays for the Atlanta Falcons, not the Minnesota Vikings. And nowhere in there is there any threat of banning anybody.
So if he posts an opinion that you don’t like he should shut up or move on?
Good look for an Admin ‘Just be cool with each other’ unless I don’t like your opinion?
Or don’t tell me what I believe is not what I believe. Maybe we can all drool daily over Joe Burrow and Aaron Rodgers too. Why must we continue to obsess about somebody who does not play for the team we are supposedly fans of?
So an Admin’s Job is to tell us who we can and can’t post about??
Whatever. Somebody shoot me an email when the Kirk Cousins obsession ends and I’ll rejoin the conversation. If all there is to talk about is players from another team, I got better things to do. I’ll go argue with the government. It’ll be more productive.
Unfortunately your obsessive, compulsive, disorder with denigrating Cousins at every turn isn’t going away.
If you think KC is all we talk about here you are the one who is Obsessed.
Yeah?!? Well what about the GD Sunshine Band?
I loved me some KC and the Sunshine band. Right in my wheelhouse growing up.
Actually the new rule is – you can post negative, sarcastic, backhanded comments all day long about our former QB. But anything positive is completely verbotten!
Context!!!
NLV were going back and forth all day friday over QB stats (Cousins). You weren’t even there or involved in conversation.
Yet, you parachute in the next day and Jump all over NLV. The next day, and tell him to go to Falcons site or shut up about Cousins.
Do you think there is no difference me telling someone to do that versus you as an Admin.
Preach
No, But you said to him if he didn’t stop talking favorably about Cousins, he should leave and go to a Falcon site.
Week ago saturday if you forgot.
Im surprised he could get through the threshold of the Cousins residence with that fat head of his.
Well except that he wanted to retire a Redskin, a Viking and a Falcon and left for THE MONEY each time.
Nope… he left because the team never offered him a contract that would ensure he could retire with them. Try and keep up.
I disagree, I think he did want to retire a Viking… if I had been playing somewhere for 5 years and had my whole family there and everyone was doing great etc… and I said I wanted to retire with that team, that’s an honest answer. IF that team then was going to to give me significantly less than some other team and/or the writing was on the wall that they wanted to get a young QB to replacement in a year or two than I too would have left. It didn’t mean what I said earlier was false when I said it…
Cousins was looking for a deal that would have ensured he retired a Viking. The Vikings had no interest in offering such a contract.
LOL.
While in Washington “I want to retire a Redskin”
While in Minnesota “I want to retire a Viking”
While in Atlanta “I want to retire a Falcon”
Sure. If you want to believe it, that’s on you.
Not his fault. Not his fault. Not his fault. Kirk does no wrong and is a god among men.
Could point quite a few characteristics, but seems like a pretty good man to me.
Yes, he did in all cases, and he even offered team friendly deals to stay with the teams. The GM’s never offered a contract that would allow him to retire with them though. You might want to get the facts straight.
Well said. I was going to provide a personal story about retirement and a change in plans, but you outlined it pretty well.
Hell, I was even starting to feel bad about myself after reading some of the comments here.
And it’s really not a hard concept to grasp.
Seem “really hard” for a couple of folks here!
You can watch the Barstool mini golf open sponsored by high noon right now live
SODA SLUT #2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUMP DAY WOOP!
Tiger is playing “late then early” in the first two rounds of the Masters. He’ll tee off tomorrow at 1:24 p.m. then around 10 a.m. on Friday. The first round could be marred by early rains, and thunderstorms, accompanied with winds that could gust to 30-40 mph. First round may not even finish tomorrow if the forecast is right.
Maybe i’ll watch the par 3 contest.
I’m excited for happy gilmore 2
Definitely a “must see”.
Where’s Bob Barker?
Same place as Chubbs Peterson
Fight seen hilarious:
“I don’t want a piece of you, i want the whole thing”
“The price is wrong bitch!”
Maybe they’ll pair him up with Drew Cary this time…
Im not seeing as Sandler hasn’t made a good comedy since 2003/4ish. And every other comedy sequel that waited 20+ years to exist has been awful. Hopefully pleasantly surprised.
Dumb and Dumber 2 a example.
With McDonald back as Shooter is has a chance, wonder what they’ll do with the Hal character.
the other Josh Allen got paid
Golfing is serious business.
Don’t mess with us.
You could tell by the guys attire he doesn’t belong on a golf course.
True.
Just a drunken idiot.
This is kind of like road rage on the golf course. Courses get backed up, and it’s hurry up and wait. For fast players it’s really frustrating. “Walking up” on a group is not really a big deal though. This guy has anger management issues.
Yeah, I usually let slow players ahead of me ruin my game for the day.
I’m a very fast player. My son hates it. He says he always feels rushed when he plays a round with me. I don’t go to the range, I don’t show up an hour before my tee time to get ready, etc. I arrive 15 minutes before my tee time, pay, load the cart up, put my shoes on, and head to the tee. I do some stretches (a little) and a couple swings to get the kinks out, but that’s it. He wants to warm up, practice some chipping and putting, and go through this stretching routine that takes 20 minutes. We’re total opposites on the course too. He really takes his time on every shot, and I just see the shot and hit it. All instinct. Bugs the shit out of him.
Large groups are a pain in the ass as well. Our course tries to keep it at 4 per group, but some days, you’ll have a group of 8, and 7 out of the 8 are bad golfers, or beginners.
Usually when I golf it’s just me and 1 maybe 2 others, which I understand if it’s a group of 4 ahead of us, we’re going to be faster and can just enjoy the day.
My biggest pet peeve is the guy that takes ten minutes to line up his putt, then proceeds to 3-4 putt.
Five per group is too many unless they are all really good golfers. I hate it when I get stuck playing in a fivesome. I end up rushing my shots and pace of play and my score usually suffers.
I would rather not golf than play in a fivesome.
should never be a fivesome during normal course of play.
Completely agree.
We are a small town municipal golf course, sometimes the employees are young and get bullied into letting large groups play together.
Sometimes, my wife and kids will be a group of 6, but we play best ball to keep the pace up.
My son and I got stuck behind 2 groups of 8 that were part of a class reunion. It took 3 hours to play nine holes.
Brutal.
I am the same way. Don’t need 10 practice swings before each shot like some people.
Yep.
I’m a fast player.
If we get caught behind a slow group, sometimes we just skip up to the next hole.
Then it’s heads for a par or tails for a bogey.
I hate it when people don’t wave faster people through.
My dad was a course marshal for a few summers. Dealing with drunken idiots who think they are entitled to the entire course and the world revolves around them isn’t fun lol.
I’ve never been a course marshal. I know I would not be popular if I was one. I would enforce speed of play standards. I would remind folks that unfortunately, they aren’t the only people playing the course, so maintaining a good pace of play is required. I would probably hassle the slow groups a lot.
I don’t like golf. My dad has always loved it. Had me taking golf lessons every summer in elementary school lol. I couldn’t sit still enough to enjoy it. I use to say I hate it or dislike it but now that I am pushing up on 40, the few times I go every year with dad it gets slightly less awful. But I don’t enjoy it enough to invest time or money into it. Would rather buy more music equipment or a great bottle of scotch lol.
To thine ownself be true…
Golf is an acquired ‘taste’, sort of like drinking scotch.
Beer is an acquired taste. When I started drinking at 21 (yes I did not drink before then), it was all wine and whisky and a little rum. HATED beer. Love beer now haha.
Used to play a course that required 2:05 per nine. Had marshals on the course giving you your time. Worked quite well.
That’s the way it should be.
We aren’t pros playing for a paycheck.
Line up your shot, and hit it.
If you are a beginner, go to the range and take all the time you want.
Most am’s are not real good golfers and you can play ‘poor’ golf fast just as well as slowly.
And if you are really bad, the range is your friend.
One of my favorite Moe Norman quotes… “if you’re gonna miss it, miss it quick”.
Ken Venturi said this too…
I guess I forgot that Five golfed.
So does Lifer
Reason enough to never take up the game/activity.
I think it’d be fun to see them play eachother
John Madden’s birthday today.
Remember when he loved saying “Schroeder” when the Packers played?
Good times…
QotD – in today’s NFL you never can never have enough pass rush.
Among the players taking part in the 49ers’ “local” pro day today is QB Kellen Mond, who will be on hand on a tryout basis. Mond was a third-round pick to the Vikings in 2021.
T’wolves update: at least Naz Reid will be well rested for the back half of a back to back.
T’wolves won after a slow start. They have the Nuggies tonight.
I don’t watch much wolves games, seems like they play down to opponents
I believe last night, they looked past the Wizards, since they are terrible. They were looking to tonight’s game against the Nuggies. Naz got ejected about 5 minutes into the game for a questionable Flagrant 2 foul. So he should be well rested for tonight.
Kind of agree with ben, playing down to competition. 15-64 Wizards team. Go down by 20 and need 51 from ANT to win. At home. Maybe Kat can give a boost.
For most of the season, they have pretty much dominated the teams they should beat. I think last night was more of a trap game than a playing down to competition game.
Back to backs are dumb, esp if you have to travel. Not sure what team will show up tonight. Will see.
Will Reid get suspended? They seem to play well against the Nuggets so I’d expect a decent performance.
I don’t think it was egregious enough to warrant the Flagrant 2 let alone get an additional suspension for it.
Its the NBA we’re talking about
Third year of the KAM and KOC era. First year, take the existing team, go through your first draft experience, and try and just win as many games as you can. Second year, start dumping older players and big contracts. Go through your second draft. Sign a lot of one year deals to plug holes. Try and win as many games as you can. Third year, finish up moving on from older players with big contracts. Get the fiscal house in order for the next year. Recreate the team with younger players you personally select. Bring in a bridge QB, and search for the QBOTF. Win as many games as you can. Fourth year compete for a Championship.
This sounds more like an accountants dream to clean up the balance sheet than a strategic plan.
I am just providing the overview of the KAM and KOC era, and where I think they believe it’s going. Yes, getting your fiscal house in order is something the team needed to do, as well as move on from older players. Balancing the books is basic business fundamental, the Vikings had drifted away from.
Not doubting what you said is true and I’ll give you the finances need some clean up. But to your point the other day, identity as I recall, what are we building towards?
I don’t have any idea if KAM and KOC are capable of building a team with a bona fide identity.
If that’s the case, why waste three years to find out if they can?
I don’t own the team…
Good thing I don’t cause that’s the first question asked during the interview.
KAM has never built a team, and in fact isn’t really a football guy. I would not have selected him as my GM. I would be looking for someone with an extensive football background, and a talent for horse trading.
Roseman isn’t really a football guy and he does just fine.
Hasn’t he been with the Eagles for nearly 25 years and started at the bottom and worked his way up up the organization to GM.
Yeah, he was promoted to GM with 10 years experience in the FO, same amount KAM had when he was hired by the Vikings.
I don’t know if being a “football guy” is necessary for being a good GM. If he aligns himself with good scouts and trusts his coach to suggest what type of player and possibly who he wants, he should be fine.
He is an athlete, so he knows what to look for athletically in a prospect.
I like it, and I believe next year will be the determining factor for an extended or shortened career for both KAM and KOC.
Sounds right. Gotta clean up bad contracts that weren’t the current GM’s fault.
Sure beats paying top dollar to one player and doing the “competitive rebuild” for the seventh straight year, while mortgaging the future on that failed strategy time after time.
Ummmm you fail the local knowledge test. It wasn’t one player paid a large contract, it was multiple players on large contracts. Most of the players did not produce consistently, and at a high level. One guy did though, every single year. Which is why he is the most prolific QB in Vikings history.
The other guys? Not so much.
Seems like that’s the idea
QofTD…
Pass rush mostly sucks right now.
If we didn’t need a QB, we need mean D linemen.
We have Darnold… we’ll be fine.
He’ll be fine for a year.
But we can’t draft a stud D-lineman because we need a QBOTF.
Unless there is one in rounds 5,6 or 7.
We have two first round picks.
They will not make two picks in the first round.
Yeah, they’ll trade in somehow and make 3
Unless they are able to trade 11 and next years 1st.
It could work out that way, but not likely.
Just keep pushing your KAM sucks narrative.
So far KAM hasn’t done well in the draft IMO, and so to date he sucks.
Happy Hump Day!
FTP & FT*, SKOL!
Also, FIRST.
NoDakRube now as a woody.
