VIKINGS NEWS
After the Vikings took JJ McCarthy and Dallas Turner in the 1st round of the draft, they selected the following players:
Round 4 (108) — Khyree Jackson, CB, Oregon: Jackson’s one of the tallest cornerbacks in the class and uses that size and competitive streak to stay in position. He led the Ducks with three interceptions and 12 passes defensed in 2023. He’ll excel in press-man coverage but will turn 25 before his rookie season starts. Draft tracker
Round 6 (177, from Panthers through Jaguars) — Walter Rouse, OT, Oklahoma: Rouse has prototypical athleticism at his size for NFL offensive linemen. His athletic profile matches up well with Jawaan Taylor and his football IQ will likely keep him on an NFL roster for years. He makes for an ideal swing tackle on a talented Vikings offensive line. Draft tracker
Round 6 (203, from Texans through Browns and Broncos and Jets) — Will Reichard, K, Alabama: A kicker at No. 203 isn’t a waste when it’s the NCAA’s all-time points leader. Reichard made an incredible 84% of his kicks in college, including going 5-for-5 from 50 yards or more in 2023. He’s more known for accuracy than power but could finally end Minnesota’s struggle to find a consistent placekicker. Draft tracker
Round 7 (230, from Falcons through Browns and Cardinals) — Michael Jurgens, C, Wake Forest: Jurgens lacks the athleticism of some of the other developmental centers on the board but boasts impressive power. His short arms and average lateral quickness could be trouble in pass protection against faster rushers. Draft tracker
Round 7 (232, from Broncos through 49ers and Texans) — Levi Drake Rodriguez, DT, Texas A&M-Commerce: Rodriguez is a prototypical late-round flyer with tools to contribute on the interior. He needs a lot of development in technique and doesn’t have elite strength or length. But he does have strong hands and enough twitch to make a difference over time.
Question of the Day
How exited about the new kicker are you?

Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here. Just be civil and cool to one another.
#8 in a row.
Twins win 3-2.
Yeah us.

Saw this, had to share 🤣
Wanting a baby is now considered far right.
FYI….
https://x.com/politico/status/1784569937391956477
WTF!!!????
The “far right” believes that babies born and raised in nuclear families are an important part of continuing civilization….
The “left” believes babies should be ripped out of their mothers wombs and killed…..enough said.
It’s comments like this that give people on the right a bad look. This is so fucking dumb, like extremely. Don’t hit me back with some dumb shit the left says because you know I agree but damn… Dumb, completely and totally stupid. Dumb.
Woke logic is based on feelings.
So yeah, why not??
Wolves have lost at home to inferior teams. WTH. Maybe they are getting hot at the right time.
Long way to go.
But I figured they would fold in the first series.
They’ve been hot all year. I’ve watched almost every game since the all star break and they are for real. We have a superstar in the making with Anthony Edwards. With all that said, I’m a long time minny sports fan so I will keep my expectations tempered a bit.
Wolves healthy. Guessing Nuggets win which puts 1st game Sat in Denver i think. Think Denver has a nasty 1st line but i read roster has changed since last year. Maybe our depth and D can win out. I have to study up this week.
Twins@Sox. Get #8. Sox are hot. Swept Tampa, 3 in a row.
Did it for you Mjior
What do you win for 420?
The gratitude of the potheads?

Here you go…..

That’s Stu playing everyone like a fiddle.
stu wishes he was that jacked
I had to post this because I watched Peter Pan with my 6 year old granddaughter on Saturday night. She had never seen it.
I would not be able to post this on the DN.
I’ve never seen it. What am I missing?
As an adult not much.
That’s the Indian Village.
That totem pole looks a lot like a cross, I’m guessing it’s too offensive for today’s society.
A double whammy! one for stereotyping native culture and one for sneaking in a cross-like symbol…
Straight to your room VP! For shame….
what makes the red man, red?
Liked that movie.
My kids loved that ride at DisneyWorld. I am sure it has been cancelled by now.
why, does it mention pansies?
Probably. It’s the Indian Village. I’m sure it is wildly racist.
Anyone have any table saw or cabinet making tips? Like keeping your fingers away from the spinning blade?
don’t eat yellow snow
Leave some space around it so you have easy access to vacuuming up all of the sawdust.
Have you seen the table saws that have a vacuum attachment? oooweee Big Stu likey
How about the ones that stop on a dime if they detect flesh? You’d have to be a big time gouger to afford one of those, I mean jeez you have 10 fingers.
Yeah and then you have to pay a bunch to replace the blade and/ or entire saw
I actually was lampooned on the issue of safety last week (I am very careful with saws mind you as I of course see x-rays on people suddenly missing portions of their extremities all the time).
Get this, I was drilling 1 1/4′ holes through two tinned walls in the shouse and one tinned wall on the shop, running cat VI over to the shop in 3/4′ pvc pipe tunnel. The hole saw was already woefully dulled out, but I forced it through the shouse walls using brute force and heating my poor DeWalter drill uncomfortably hot. Stench of ozone burning metal and wood everywhere. About then my wife’s ex rolls up to render advice (I had asked him to render such advice) on my irrigation project and he says why don’t you take five minutes and get a new hole saw? My wife says thank you he is such a tightwad with some things! as I tried to explain that I was really planning on throwing it out after I was done. After he left, I was in the process of trying to cut through the shop and got the ol’ JFC WTF are you doing from the little lady. Well I acquiesced, ran to the hardware store and got a new hole saw ($16!) and it took four seconds to cut through the wall.
Trust me I’ll do it again with something else next week.
Those are very cool too. If you aren’t a pro woodworker or something it’s likely not worth it. I have quite a cheap one that works well. But blade adjustments are tougher with cheaper equipment.
Yup, I have one. My miter has a dust bag, too.
Yeah, I’m gonna put it next to my big ol’ wall mounted garage vac, neighbor to my radial arm saw. It is a portable DeWalter, on a wheeled stand, so I can wheel it over closer to where I am working. I haven’t used one much since my HS shop days, the IA (Industrial Arts) one was a big ol cabinet saw. I’m planning on doing some dado’ing and making some jigs, see what knowledge I can pull up from the depths.
One of my regrets in HS is I didn’t do a year of HE (home ec). In my school it was either IA or HE and I caved to peer pressure. I learned a lot in IA but a year of HE would have been nice.
Get a good dust collection system. Also get a cabinet style to contain dust.
Have a doctor’s phone number prominently displayed in the work area.
Crazy glue works wonders.
What are the cabinets for? Like a shop? Also, as far as a table saw you get what you pay for, both the saw and the blade.
Well there’s no way the CFO would sign off on a 8K cabinet saw. I reviewed my choice with the GC – it’s a DeWalter with a mobile stand on sale at the big orange home improvement store.
BTW I have struggled for years with cheap stud finders that I get as stocking stuffers or free companions to other tools I bought, they always hit on a stud location and then when I drive the screws there is no stud there. I borrowed the GC’s and ended up buying one of my own, it is magnificent, I tossed all the old ones.
The “cabinets” so to speak are shelving and organizers for four closets in our shouse. Rather than fuck around trying to get a closet organizer to fit I’m gonna wing it with some strips of painter’s tape and a tape measure.
Ok, gotcha. I have a Bosch on a moveable stand, I also bout extenders so I can use it to cut sheets of plywood. Reason I asked about where they were for is, if its something like garage where you probably have a good amount of space, I’d install them as I assembled them, its quicker and easier than assembling them, then installing
Stay at a Holiday Inn Express.
Don’t hold the chain end of a chain saw whilst it’s running.
Pro tip.
Not that it was ever a question, but its official now
https://x.com/Vikings/status/1785030118060020122
@he’s a bum, cut ‘im@
Waiting for cap space next year?
I feel if he keeps taking steps forward and has a truly elite season… that just drives his cost up next year but he could be betting on himself and saying he won’t sign an extension this year… maybe?
Finch has surgery he may have to have knee locked straight out for 6 weeks or longer, so i read. He’d have to sit 5 rows up in stands.
can they suspend him with ropes and wires, above the bench?
Why not? They do it with cameras.
yes, exactly this.
keep him high enough for safety sake, then lower him during timeouts
That would be hilarious.
i couldn’t even type that without laughing
He’ll sit on a stool
Guessing they can figure something, sure they can protect him. His bench presence is needed against Denver.
Yeah, not an ideal situation in the playoffs but they’ll figure it out
put him behind the scorers table…
just add a point here and there when no ones looking
Finchy on his way to game one against denver
Acid indigestion!
i love how stu’s first day back just launches into an evolution argument
good to have you back, stu
Next he’ll argue the “theory of gravity” or the “theory of the world goes around the sun.” It’s not an argument.
Yeah, Stu is also a flat earther
For real or is that a joke?
it’s scary he thinks that means ANYTHING
He doesn’t think anything anymore other than “ice cream good”.
yes
i heard he puts his shoes on BEFORE his pants
Yeah, true psycho
As long as he doesn’t start the ‘flat earth’ thing, cause that is just silly.
It sure is a lot flatter in Florida than it was in Virginia.
I think it is certain that denser items will travel through less dense items, That’s incredibly observable and true every time. The word that’s been attributed to that is gravity. I can’t confirm nor deny how the earth moves, there are theories out there about what-is what. Is the sun the center that all revolves around? Likely. Is the earth flat and the sun is local moving around it? Maybe. I have no idea.
I take issue with people who say there “is no argument” and that it’s “settled”. Because you truthfully, if we are being honest, have no fukn clue.
True
Happy to be back!
Stu’s back?
Yes
tried to do a gif but it didn’t work
LOL, the guy that wants to lecture everyone on evolution can’t even post gifs!
I’ve posted a few! it wasn’t a lecture it was like the Big Stu bible – Humans evolved from monkeys and now over a couple thousand years have begun the evolution to pigs. From there only some lord knows.
or some scientist rather
For whoever asked about JJ wearing #9…
https://x.com/VikesReport/status/1784982967648956545
Seems odd.
aka 9 is not divisible by 2.
Dad jokes rule!!
I totally missed it and it was a good one. I’m going to blame what I think is pneumonia setting in.
‘pneumonia setting in’
Be carefully with that.
I have had it twice and was warned that it is no joke and once you have had it you are more likely to get it again.
I’ve never had it that I’ve been diagnosed at least, but the cough that has set in after having a cold last week is no joke. Been waiting for teledoc to call for a couple hours, gave up and have an appointment in a couple hours at the actual doctor. Kind of surprised, the teledoc we have through work is usually pretty quick and it’s free so we try to use that first.
When I had pneumonia it got to the point where I had to hold my head and chest whenever I coughed because both hurt.
When ever I have a chest cold now I go into full defensive mode.
I just watched the shittiest movie starring this guy on NF. Miller’s Girl. Ugh.
Thanks,
I have a purple Teddy #5 still, and threw away the white Kirko Jersey.
Maybe I go colorwash purple this time.
I’m not sure it is necessary to announce that you have a purple teddy. Somethings just belong in the bedroom.
oh hai
And all this time we thought Surly was a guy.
I always kinda wondered
Wondering if Turner takes #15…
99?
That would work too. Wish Bradbury would give up #56 – that number should be on a defender.
wish bradbury was on the packers.
You gifted types probably already know this bit of trivia but #9 is often worn by the best player on a hockey team. Wayne Gretzky wore #9 his entire junior career (also as homage to his idol Gordie Howe) but when he joined the Oilers Brian Gualazzi already had that jersey, so he took 99 instead.
cocky much, gretzky??
Yeah, no kidding, like did he think he was gonna break some of Howe’s records?
Probably, there isn’t anyone wearing it right now
I think this is the best 5 day stretch for MN Sports in the past 30 + years. Enjoy this fellas! …and Kathy! Future is blindingly bright.
So the Twins have won 7 in a row due to the ‘Home Run Sausage’?
https://puckettspond.com/posts/rocco-baldelli-hilariously-explains-minnesota-twins-lucky-home-run-sausage-01hwkh84h2r7
I don’t need to know anything about them having sausage parties in the locker room.
Jealous because you were not invited?
Evidently the one they are using has not been refrigerated in a week or so.
You asked for it! OK, so since the “science” guys say that definitely 1000% evolution is real and mostly based on the idea that we and monkeys share such close DNA, I propose that we assume that to be true, and while we share a shockingly similar DNA profile to pigs we are to ONLY deduce that, since evolution is real = we will definitely evolve away from being people = we are evolving into PIGS.
Science can not deny this, as they have laid the groundwork for my breakthrough. NOBEL, you got my number.
*** Theory is backed up when you look at how modern day human has become fat and soft. Evolution is AMAZING
De-evolution is not a new idea.
There is no endpoint to evolution. It goes in all directions and natural selection determines the traits that survive. Humans buck normal natural selection through intelligence. Growing stupidity is not de-evolution.
Fair point, I am just saying people have long tried to use “de-evolution” as a way to say we didn’t come from anything but rather we are headed towards something but yes, evolution has no endpoint.
de evolution sounds like a retarded argument – pardon my politically incorrectness. But it’s just a bunch of people paid too much to do nothing impactful making shit up about what they can’t explain.
Sounds a bit like evolution really.
Pigs are pretty smart.
See. Pig bodies with human minds. EVOLUTION BRAH
I see lazy millennial stu managed to get up before noon today
https://x.com/ImMeme0/status/1784973540778733598
Wait, what? There are consequences to my actions? How is that possible?
Because you don’t vote the right way.
What a POS, you can’t go around vandalizing every car with a sticker about being a moronic tool!
LOL
I didn’t even see Murray the first time I skimmed this.
LOL
That’s a good roast.
Update after my week off…
In summary, I’m happy to be back at work doing cerebral pursuits.
Moving sucks! Glad everything is working out in the end.
Looking forward to mine in July, not.
Getting from Cal to Idaho yes, the actual moving part, not so much.
Let me know if you need any help. I live in Meridian and work in Caldwell. I’m fairly adept at lifting heavy things if someone points me in the right direction.
Got movers to pack, load, haul, unload and put furniture back together, all part of the package deal.
After that The Teacher and I will be organizing and putting stuff away.
But if I need help moving some heavy stuff up the room over the garage I will give you a holler. It should be the 2nd week of July or so.
who want’s to revisit my evolution topic from many months ago? I have a new theory that I want to go mainstream but before using on the campaign trail I’ll tell you. This could make the “evolution is definitely settled science” bozos happy tbh
you know i’m intrigued.
Evolution is real, the end. It’s not settled, that’s why it’s still be researched and adjusted. But evolution is real.
“theory”
Gravity is a theory, but we rarely fall up.
Exactly, thank you. Anyone who says “theory” as it someone how discredits evolution does not have even a grasp of basic scientific understanding.
so is a conspiracy theory fact then?!?!?!
asking for my conspiracy theorist fiend
A conspiracy theory is not a scientific theory, but if the left says it’s wrong, there’s at least a 95% chance it will be proven to be true.
I wonder how many on the right said water gate wasn’t true when it was first unravelling… It’s only the left that denies things right? (your one sided bias is showing both sides are full of criminal liars).
Twas a joke about the numerous recent “conspiracy theories” that the media complained about that turned out to all be true. Chill. We agree, they’re all criminals.
Oh, many thought it was true – they simply didn’t care.
Like today, do you think most don’t know about Biden’s mental capabilities – they don’t care.
Has ‘Global Warming’ even made it to theory yet or is it still a hypothesis?
“global warming” as the idea the earth is heating up sometimes is true as we know the earth has always gone through cycles. As to why it’s happening in an industrial age being attributed to car farts and cow farts is another story haha.
So just an idea, not a ‘Hypothesis’ let alone a ‘Theory’?
Personally I think Global Warming started about 10,000 BC when the North American Ice Sheet started to melt. Since we no longer have a 2.5 mile thick chunk of ice on us it must be warmer now.
Well it’s baseline has cycled up and down a few times in that timespan as well lol. Global Warming right now is absolutely real, the globe is warming up. The problem is people hijacking that term and using it to try and cash and power grab in the name of “the environment.” Just like what happened after 9/11 in the name of safety. Just like what happened with the moral majority in the name of “moral decency.” Just like what is happening with the woke movement currently in the name of feelings, fairness etc…
It’s almost like what really matters is power and money to those at the top and they know how to pit us against one another so they can stay at the top while they keep grabbing money and freedoms while we just keep fighting one another… Just another example of why party loyalty is killing this country!
‘Well it’s baseline has cycled up and down a few times in that timespan ‘
As has always happened to the climate since the earth has had a climate.
I have no problem cleaning up the planet and treating it well.
But as you point out ‘it is about power and money’ so it gets a backlash by those who understand that against those who don’t.
The number of politicians that have turned tail on their constituents has been baffling me lately. I get some or even most getting bought out, but how do even the most staunch “believers” seem to turn tail in such a short period of time? More than money, it really seems like they are pulled into a side room by someone and told the truth that we are not allowed to know and the government is just a shadow for those really in control.
Politicians are ‘shadow puppets’? Makes perfect sense.
Pretty much, or the shadows on the cave wall may be more accurate. We simply see the shadows they want us to see and have never seen behind the barrier.
Politicians are real puppets. Special interest money (and power) controls the game.
Buy a few votes for a politician and you’ll find out how much power you have.
There has to be more to it than special interest money. Too many politicians have bucked the money for considerable amounts of time and turned tail rather quick when they got into a position of power. Way too quick for money to be at the root of it.
We see the shadow. The real question is who is controlling the puppets and what is outside the cave.

Perhaps. But unlike the ‘old’ days, the parties now have a lot of power – always. did, but more so than ever today. The parties are driven by the big special interest groups (and money)
Some, that are good and want to be straight, quickly realize they can’t beat the power of the system and give up
Do you not think that the majority of Democrats don’t think that Majorkis is an ass and incompetent? Yet not one voted to continue the impeachment process.
Yeah and that just furthers my belief that there is more there. There is no way that not a single one stepped out of line if it was just money. Yes, most have been corrupted by the money as well, but there have just been a few cases that made me scratch my head and wonder what else is going on.
To go back to what Washington, Adams, and Jefferson warned us about – the power of political parties.
Scratch alluded to Watergate, many Republicans were prepared to vote against Nixon, and said so. At that time, many in the public would praise that type of behavior.
Now, ‘party lines’ are drown and you’re either with the “Team” or not. And if you’re not, you won’t be around very long.
There are exceptions – can think of three repub senators.
there’s easily testable proof to show that denser items go through less dense items here on earth. They call that gravity. Testing a hypothesis is what science really does.
Not being able to explain where humans come from and then being like “looks like carbon elements from millions of years ago are right next to seashell things”… then getting to “looks like carbon elements are next to these monkey bones” then to look “human bones look like monkey bones kinda”
Truly no test to confirm assumptions imo. But there is good analysis to describe assumptions. Still to say it is exactly what happened after it was only assumed in the 1800’s is incredibly arrogant and I won’t be apart of it.
Evolution is real, not sold on the theory that humans evolved from apes.
They didn’t evolve from apes. They evolved from a common ancestor. There are thousands, possibly millions of branches on the tree since that common ancestor. Most have died off. What we see now is just a tiny snapshot and the time that this all took place over is incomprehensible to the human mind.
You don’t have to be. Most scientists are sold we descended from some other primates. If you don’t believe that, then by all means submit your peer reviewed data and research and then go collect your Nobel prize!
We all know “scientists” are infallible, especially with these past few years. I just got an email from a medical journal saying that heart-related deaths hit an all-time high and peak in 2021, but of course, there is no correlation to the jab or reason to believe it had anything to do with that. Just coincidence. And the flu disappeared for a couple years. Again, mind-blowing stuff that they know is right (based on who is paying them or their own arrogance).
So your theory is that the vaccination caused the spike in heart related deaths in 2020…not the COVID-19 virus infection?
2021, which is exactly why I think that (9+ months after the COVID started and immediately after vaccinations rolled out)
I covered the growth of lethargy in the human populace, but there was also the fact that people didn’t go for regular checkups because people were afraid of hospitals or the hospitals were full. I believe there was also an increased rate of death from things like cancer because they weren’t getting diagnosed as early as they should have been or would have previously been.
Possible. But most people and “scientists” still won’t admit mass vaccination had any negative side effects, such as myocarditis, which I believe the relationship to be fact at this point.
Mmm I see
https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/cardiovascular-disease-death-rate-who-mdb
It might have been “heart-related disease” not deaths (myocarditis in particular), but I am nonetheless trusting the information provided in the email for my point. To your data, which may be deaths specifically, it might look different.
But to another point, COVID proved you can’t trust the WHO anyway, so your data, regardless of that there might not be a better aggregate source, is likely skewed just like all the COVID death statistics (like millions were dying from COVID, but come to find out they were dying from car crashes, diabetes, other diseases and whatever but classified as COVID deaths, which was immediately apparent in 2020).
mmm I see
Curious – do you believe COVID was as bad as they say? Do you also believe that the vaccinations were “safe and effective”?
Correlation is not causation. It could also have something to do with the fact that people sat at home eating junk food and did nothing during the lockdowns.
That’s the best part of why they call it a theory. Why it’s not a religion. It can change in the light of new data. There is nothing wrong with science and all the good scientists out there. Politicians and the such cherry picking data, ignoring data, etc… that’s a different story. You are getting the two things confused. Good strawman fallacy though.
To be fair, politicians aren’t the only ones ‘ignoring data.’ Recent events do suggest he who controls funding over a scientists project has strong influence.
True and some climate change scientists really fucked up by withholding data because it went against what they wanted to find or had previously found. There are scumbags everywhere. All groups have scumbags… all scumbags are not politicians… but all politicians are scumbags haha
Hard to believe but there are some politicians that are not scumbags – being non political, would say Truman wasn’t.
That aside, when I wrote the post above, was actually thinking about Fauci and his control of the government’s funding projects – esp. during Covid/
It’s true I was using hyperbole.
Some DO believe they all are. Should have known you new better.
I think there’s a difference than being a scumbag and being wrong too. I don’t think George W or Bernie were scumbags. I disagree with them on a lot of things though lol.
Except for these things I mentioned were also “the majority” of scientists, yet they were clearly wrong/bribed to say what they said. Just like the 51 intelligence officers that said the laptop was Russian disinfo. I am not the one mixing science and politics – they have been mixed for decades. Just because there is a “scientific consensus” doesn’t mean they aren’t wrong or lying.
But you are, bad people doesn’t negate the institution of what we are talking about. True and legit science done by real and legit scientists without the politics involved is great. The issue isn’t science at the root of the problem.
I agree, science gets hijacked by money/politics too easily. It’s clear the so called “science” over covid is terrible, hijacked by govt and pharma companies that politicians will take money from. The fact it can happen so easily in 2020+ shows how easily it could have happened when people had less opp for different or all information.
That has been going on since the beginning of time. A common belief, be it science or religion, has often been skewed to the advantage of those that wield the power.
Agreed. Which is why it’s important for people to do their own thinking, find what they believe, and be willing to discuss (not dismiss) with others to continue to learn. We’d all be better off.
Bingo.
Where is your “true and legit science done by real and legit scientists without the politics involved”? I’d like to see that source, because it’s very hard to trust anything nowadays, which is my point. You frequently see completely contradicting things in “science”, and the majority may very well be wrong or lying.
I believe humans evolved from their original form as humans. To adapt to the changes that may or may not have happened in their ecosystem.
You believe that there was not an evolutionary ancestor that was not human we evolved from?
I don’t believe we evolved from a so-called “entirely different” species like apes or something. I do believe, however, in natural selection and adaptations that make species better suited to survive. But this probably all hinges on if you believe in God, the Bible, etc.
Evolution and belief in God are not mutually exclusive. Who’s to say there isn’t somebody helping direct “natural” selection?
Well, actually if you believe in the Bible and what’s written in there… God gave us free will… Also if a God is willing to partake in helping direct “natural” selection but not willing to help direct absolute evil off a cliff then fuck that deity right in the ass.
Most biblical scholars say everything up to Noah was not literal. Ie, the week it took God to create Earth was actually the eons that even people today can’t understand, much less people thousands of years ago. Evil is like darkness. Darkness is nothing. It is the absence of light. Yes you can sense “darkness”, but it cannot be quantified other than in relation to light.
Agreed, most scholars believe the ark stuff was also just a story as well.
OK, then use a different word for evil. If a god is willing to help with evolution but not willing to wipe out slavery and genocide, fuck them.
Ever hear of ‘Free Will’??
Nah, we should apparently live in a perfect utopia where nothing bad ever happens because evil doesn’t exist.
Yep – back to the Garden of Eden.
I referenced that already. If we have free will then god is not acting upon us. If god isn’t acting upon us what good is praying for god to protect us or to do anything that breaks free will. What good prayer if there is already a divine plan (outside of prayer being something you do as reflective meditation and thanks).
Asking for help does not mean we don’t have free will. That doesn’t make sense. In fact, I believe God wants us to believe in him and ask him for help in prayer due to that very notion – we have free will, and the people that freely follow him will be rewarded.
You shouldn’t argue religion with Edge. His bias is large and he will give no quarter.
I know, it’s a pointless game, but I have to say my part sometimes.
I was a pretty devout Christian until about my early 20s. I finally did some digging myself into this stuff. I won’t bash anyone for their straight up beliefs (unless it hurts others) but I will challenge people.
I’ve heard your story. That’s why I made my statement.
So does god have a divine plan for everyone? If so, a little interesting for you to go against that plan and ask for something else. God knows best and works in mysterious ways (best cop out ever), so you shouldn’t ask for something else and just accept what he’s given you right? Or do you know better than god?
Here’s my two cents; I believe god has a divine plan for everyone. The more you stray from that plan the less likely you are to get into heaven.
Praying to god is a way to ask him to get you back on the path to the divine plan.
As far as the Hitler thing, if Hitler was truly remorseful for what he did, than yes he could be allowed into heaven. He cannot just say forgive me for what I have done and not truly mean it.
Ps. I am not overly religious.
I understand what you are saying, only issue is I have always thought that praying to god to get you back on track is praying to yourself, you have to do it. God helps those that helps themselves which really means he’s like a parent on the sideline. It can be motivating to know they are cheering for you but you have make the play.
Perhaps praying simply helps a person enact their free will better.
Maybe one just needs some help protecting themselves better.
Yeah, just because God has a plan for us, doesn’t mean we are forced to follow it. Just like when my wife plans on me mowing the lawn when I get home. That’s her plan, but it’s up to me to choose whether to follow that plan or not. I can also ask for her guidance and forgiveness.
Exactly.
This is why I like these conversations, I learn different view points. You always hear the, “God has a plan” when someone dies… “well it was his time, god has a plan.” That is to say God killed them and the little kid ran over in the middle of the street. That shit always bothered me, even when a believer. So in your view God has a plan but doesn’t meddle in our lives to push to or away from that plan. That seems fair.
The funny thing I find in forgiveness is usually most of the judgeiest Christian’s out there sin as we all sin, but just figure you can ask for forgiveness and you’re good. The problem is there is a difference between the words forgive and judge. from a biblical sense I saw that situation as sure, god forgives you but you’re going to still be judged hard on that sin if you judge others hard because, “You will be judged as you have judged others.” Those folks always seem to forget that part lol.
You will be judged as you have judged others – seems pretty solid take to me.
I’m not near as good a Christian as I should be. For example, it’s pretty hard for me to swollow that a guy like Hitler could ask for forgiveness at the 11th hour and be saved.
So, will simply trust that decision is way beyond my pay grade.
I sure don’t understand a heaven/hell concept. Is there a panel of judges? Wish i could have done things a bit different but i believe i learned and became a better person.
I have heard some biblical scholars talk about how the fiery hell shit was derived from Daunte’s Inferno more than anything. The word Jesus used that got the fiery shit hole idea was “Gehenna” which was a little shit hole place outside of Jerusalem that was a place for cast out POSs of society. So it wasn’t hell it was Matthew 5:22: “…. whoever shall say, ‘You fool’, shall be guilty enough to go into Gehenna.” Matthew 5:29: “….it is better for you that one of the parts of your body perish, than for your whole body to be thrown into Gehenna.”
Life is a maturation process, beginning til end. There is extreme evil in this worl that will never go away. If i ended up in “hell” i know i’d have lots of company.
Same, that one always bothered me too about Hitler. When I came out athiest in college and people asked what if I’m wrong, that was part of my answer. If Hitler gets to go to Heaven and I go to Hell even though I for the most part am a decent and good person… screw god then, I’d rather not be in a place with Hitler anyway lol
You’re smarter than that. If Hitler is there, he’ll be a very very changed man.
Eternity in the other place – you don’t really want to be there.
The other place is likely not a firery hell but rather the absence of god, and I repeat again. If god is an egomaniac that allows Hitler into heaven but not me then cool, I’d rather be where god is not.
Just remember everyone is an athiest. There have been thousands of god’s in the time of humans, you don’t believe in all but 1. I just don’t believe in 1 more. You are possibly going to hell in every other one of those religions.
I think I might be more agnostic, I don’t know, you don’t know but at the same time I think agnostics are athiest by definition a little bit.
First, we really don’t know that Hitler will be allowed in heaven.
Now as you say there are a lot of religions and there has been. For most all of my life, I’ve been well acquainted with just one and try to ‘live’ by that one. It says Heaven far better than hell so I’ll that’s my chosen route. For all I know, it might well be very firery.
I live in Florida, that’s hot enough.
Ha!
Question, do you think God is an egomaniac? I liked to think when I was a believer, there was a lot of things in the Bible put there by man. I mean Paul had passages that were pro-slavery, so either God is pro-slavery or Paul is fallible like every other human and some things were in there that were a product of their times. In that regard, the, you have to praise god on high and exalt his name, seems a little more like a “big fan’s” (prophet’s) perspective, not the perspective of an infallible deity.
For sure, I think that’s great. Nothing wrong with that.
Um, hello, did he definitely do that with Noah and the great flood? He allows free will until we fuck it up. I would expect if the bible is real and God is real that there will be another flood coming soon……….
Um Hello, that was just a made up story of a flood that nearly every damn society around the world had.
You expect another flood, even though in the Bible it said he wouldn’t do that again… good logic. Genesis 9 man, “I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.”
I’ve listened to it and believe it wouldn’t happen again, unless it had to. I’m not a bible thumper so don’t interpret it directly. You’ve asked why God would allow evil and discussed free will. It’s clearly stated he allows free will and people to make mistakes, until he realizes what he’s created is far too off the rails. You quote Genesis as someone whos not a believer…GOOD LOGIC.
Lastly, my joke regarding expecting a flood is just that, a joke, I doubt we’ll get a flood just because men want to be women and our society is very much going backwards. This is far different from the Hero’s of a time mixing with humans and corrupting humans lines and then a rumored mix with animals.
Don’t ask questions you don’t want to discuss. You won’t be able to “get me” on this website brother. I’m for questioning everything and not being so fuckin arrogant about what or what is not “settled”.
Love when me, a non-believer, gets bashed for knowing and quoting the Bible better than a believer can. Always funny to me. I know the book and much of the history behind it… It’s why I stopped believing… Knowledge.
Vatican has said that it is ok with evolution as long as you believe that God got involved at some points.
https://churchlifejournal.nd.edu/articles/the-catholic-church-has-never-had-a-quarrel-with-the-idea-of-evolution/
I think most of it is semantics. Like, I believe species can adapt and do change over time (some call this “evolution” in general, some just call that adaptation and/or natural selection). Evolution to an entirely differently quantifiable species, I believe, is not the case, particularly in humans. Are we taller, smarter, etc? Perhaps (I would call adaptation or natural selection to become a better version of before). Were we single-celled organisms or even apes that changed to humans? I say no, that’s a little too farfetched to believe, and if you trust the Bible, then God made us generally how we are today I think.
Natural selection is what causes evolution. If you read about ring species (I know there’s a lizard in the southwest) you can see evolution in action. There is a mountain range that divides a population of low elevation lizards. If you start at the bottom and work your way up, they can interbreed. When you get to the top, the lizards from the east can’t breed with the ones from the west. Literally evolution in action. You have to remember this happens over millions of years. People getting taller, etc is most likely due to health improvements. Plus, as I said, humans now are a bad example of any evolutionary process at work. A, it’s too short of a time span. B, humans do not interact like species in nature do. If you look at the “typical” person from different regions though, you see obvious similarities from one region to another as you work say from Africa to Norway, but if you just compare somebody from Norway to somebody from Africa, obviously they are different. The ability of humans to travel the world is yet another reason you can’t look at humans in the timespan of evolution. The existence of humans is but a pin prick on the evolutionary timeline.
I agree that it’s hard to see the forest through the trees with the timespan we are talking about. But humans are humans, even if we change to an extent. We weren’t apes I don’t think, and we certainly weren’t bacteria.
Wonder what the big guy evolved from
He probably came from a random “big bang” too, just like all other matter and organisms. The best explanation they can come up with is a random huge explosion. Sounds like a 2-year-old made up his best story.
I for one am happy with the draft – some argue they gave up too much but teams have to make a move to change a team. We’ll see if JJ works out short term or long term, but there was no other good option at the moment.
I kind of talked myself in Penix being my preferred, but injury concerns I do get – think his arm and athleticism would have been great. But JJ seems like a good leader and hard worker – can teach to throw into windows, can’t teach leadership.
Defensive get is HUUUUUUGE.
i’m SHOCKED penis jr is what you prefer….
Prefer what you’re used to. I was a big balls, winner JJ fan from the get go.
CRY MORE LIB
gosh i missed you
I figured you didt. Got through a very important timeframe at work and now hoping I will pop open the laptop more.
I’m happy with this draft. Next year I may sing a different tune when we have only a few picks to use.
They’ll have a bunch of cap space to make up for it.
Yup – next year will be a run on top free agents to fill gaps. This method is the way, I’ve been saying it for years.
Currently 3 + whatever comp picks they are rewarded.
If they get another great player with the #1 it will be a great draft.
Thank goodness they didn’t get NE’s spot. Who do you think they planned on taking there?
Maye
You mayebe right
JJ has a stronger arm and is more athletic
And he’s a winner.
stronger arm is a suspect comment buttface
Only 2 QBs in the history of the combine have thrown harder than JJ.
I rely on the tape I see in games rather than guys throwing at nothing while wearing underpants. I’m sure a ton of Tom, Dick and Harry’s can throw something really hard when not playing a game
He has a strong arm and I think he just underthrows some of the long balls. Knowing he’s got JJ and Addison burning will hopefully give him the confidence to huck it.
yeah, well, you talk yourself into preferring young penis
I swear guys I am not a fan of penis
Yet if there were no penis there would be no stu.
wait I guess that is just a theory, not proven by empirical facts
Fair point – while I believe your original statement is accurate, I have heard that now women = men if they want, regardless of anatomy. Thus if it takes man+woman and man = woman than woman+woman in conventional sense could make baby? again, I don’t believe this is true but it is what I’m being told by some scientists, psychologists, and media outlets so I guess we just buy in?
Does Stu have a belly button?
Do pigs and apes?
Yes. And you didn’t answer the question. You’re a test tube clone aren’t you?
pigs have belly buttons holy shit??
All mammals have belly buttons. I think it’s a holdover from thousands of years ago when mammals diverged from the rest of the vertebrates on the evolutionary tree.
Lol whales have belly buttons. Shit we were whales once too
What if whales were us and they have already un-evolved?
I’m joking, I get it’s probably some umbilical cord thing. Just being a wise ass to the pro evo guys
His highlight tape shows plenty of arm strength. Tight window throws, deep corners, throwing on the run with velocity and accuracy.
He’s not perfect, there’ll be plenty of rookie moments for sure.
But his arm strength is fine.
I kept reading pre draft that JJ had about the most velocity on his throws ever and that he didn’t have a strong arm. Not sure how both can be true.
McCarthy threw 61 mph at the combine, second fastest ever there
i, for one, am glad we got who i wanted all along.
if he sucks, he’s dead to me though
This is the way.
Of course, make sure to never admit you wanted him, and deny all claims that you thought he would be great. Instead, claim you knew he was a bust all along and said we should stay away/cut him. (see Irv Smith and countless other players drafted to the Vikings).
Personally I didn’t have a problem with Smith or Cine or most others when we got them. I jumped on the ‘bust train’ after a couple years though.
Think there was a safety we drafted in early 2000s in the 2nd round I thought would be a bust and was, unfortunately I was right.
Chris Cook, 2010.
Hated that pick.
Again, not sure how he could still not have a strong arm per the ‘experts’.
Probably because they never actually watched him throw
I don’t know that I ever did outside a highlight or two. Didn’t stop me from knowing that ‘fastest velocity = strong arm’.
Just from my baseball days would say strongest arm isn’t always best arm.
And how hard a guy throws in the bullpen doesn’t always translate to the real mound.
Strong Arm =/= accurate, agreed.
Seems to throw high velocity does = strong arm, and/or good mechanics, not sure how to separate those two.
I think his bigger problem is that he throws it too hard sometimes and needs to work on his touch passes. Agreed though that I have no idea where this idea that he doesn’t have a strong arm came from.
‘no idea where this idea that he doesn’t have a strong arm came from’
‘Experts’ who have a narrative to push.
I can’t wait until that narrative is that the Vikings have the best QB in the NFC.
I just think the ‘strong arm’ thing is somewhat over blown. Burrows came out and they said he didn’t have a strong arm – he seems to do just fine. Not sure Brady had a rocket either.
Get the ball to the receiver in a good spot on time seems to count most.
Also believe Drew Brees had a weak arm.
Draft is done, who jumped off the ledge and who is still around?
I was watching it out of the corner of my eye, had it streaming on my muted tablet while we watched a movie. The first round picks take forever…about the time I glanced back at the screen the Falcs took Penix Jr which surprised me. Then I figured about a half hour before the Vikes would either pick at 11 or trade down and when I looked back the Jets were picking and the Vikes had JJ. Shut the tablet off at that point, was pleased with the Dallas pickup though.
I dunno about you guys, but the draft has become unwatchable for me. If they could run two minutes a pick I could handle it. At this point it is like watching a heavily commercialized narrated fashion show.
I followed online, avoided the commercials and BS. Got to do other things at the same time, considered it a win.
I watched the entire first round. I do not watch much college football since the rodents suck, and I actually enjoy watching highlights and hearing people talk about the guy just drafted.
I had my opinion on QB, and had Maye as my first choice, then whomever the coach liked between Penix/Nix/JJ as the plan at 11. Seems to have worked out, and they got a very good defender in round 1 as well as the QB not named Kirk.
Ignored the rest of the draft after round 1.
🤣
that is cold but damned funny.
Lol
You know those jokes about how you can see 1,000 people get killed in a movie and be fine but kill a puppy and that makes you cry? Heard a lot of iterations of that but it has now come true. Apparently Krusty Gnome shot a puppy she had and wrote about it, which whatever, as much as I hate her, I don’t think she’s psychotic animal killer and anyone who grew up on a ranch/farm knows there are times animals sometimes need to be put down and it’s her story so who knows… anyway. What I think is funny is the line from this article where Laura Loomer said you can’t shoot your dog and then be VP… But apparently you can shoot a person in the face and be VP! lol.
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/04/28/trump-vp-contender-kristi-noem-defends-dog-killing-amid-ridicule.html
sad, but true
14 months is still a puppy?
“The fact is, South Dakota law states that dogs who attack and kill livestock can be put down. Given that Cricket had shown aggressive behavior toward people by biting them, I decided what I did,”
If the dog kills other animals and bites people there is only one option.
Don’t like it.
Adoption is not an option if it is doing that.
Retraining eventually might work. Don’t know.
I don’t like it either.
I’ve had to put dogs down before – my HS sweetheart adopted a stray (they lived in rural Eastern NE) had it for years and it showed no signs of aggression at all.
Then in a span of a week it killed a family cat and bit a neighbor lady.
I put the dog down myself with a .22. It’s the worst thing I’ve ever done and it haunted me for years. Was truly awful.
I’ve also held my two previous dogs when they were put down. It was far more peaceful, but equally as awful. I sobbed like a child.
I’m not judging her for this. She’s a politician and there’ll be so much more to judge her on.
well said.
I would definitely have to be pissed to shoot one of my dogs. The thing is I can see how excited they would be, associating the gun with hunting…so I would have to be seeing red not to have that haunt me.
I was far from pissed. Sick feeling the whole time. My buddy was with me and we wrapped him up with a few burlap sacks and buried him on the NW corner of the property. I resented my GF’s dad for a very long time after that.
I’ve fostered dogs before with multiple agencies, there’s a reason they put them down if there is any biting, its a huge liability. Retraining for a violent dog like this doesn’t work.
Correct, did you read my entire comment, I agreed with her on this…
I didn’t say you did or did not agree with her.
I believe they are using ‘puppy’ to get clicks and although I can’t stand the idea of killing dogs sometimes it has to be done.
Had to put down my brother dog after he passed, dog was very old, I cried the whole time. But I couldn’t make the widow or his kids do it.
It is amazing how far we have come from Old Yeller as a country.
We had a dog that could not be controlled. Constantly leaving the farm. Killing neighbor chickens.
Finally said, enough. Boom.
Correct. Animals have been humanized so there are many people that can’t make the distinction. As much as I dislike dogs, I would never shoot one unless it had to be done. However there are times that an animal needs to be put down.
Animals have been humanized and humans have been globbified. OK to kill babies but not animals. This whole conversation reminds me of this too

RE the photo: It would depend on how hungry I was.
I go with this line because I have eaten rabbits on multiple occasions and I would try horse. After that it depends on the level of apocalypse we were in. Also, I just noticed there is a slight edit to the left side of this one that I hadn’t seen before.
If I was in a country that served dog… I’d try it.
I was trying to think how to say that. I agree with you.
When on the rez, old timers would joke about “puppy soup”… I don’t think it was a joke for everyone.
I would try dog, didn’t while I was stationed in Korea, not my dog of course.
What about Gato Tacos??
If I was somewhere were it was acceptable and they knew how to make it. And I mean cat tacos, not the other definition.
I’m not against those that would, but I couldn’t. I would never try octopus either. something just seems off about it.
Love eating cows tho man
I’ve never tried Calimari because it sounds gross, but I’ve heard from some that it is excellent.
I have eaten escargot. It sounds gross but was good.
Calimari, can be very rubbery and gross and can be amazing. Quality of the meat and preparation are vital just like with any food.
Yep. Breaded calamari is like a little chewier chicken strip. Tastes a lot like Rocky Mountain Oysters actually.
I refuse to call it meat
Well it’s not a veggie!
Escargot was good the few times I have had it, but I like garlic and butter, and that is what they cooked the snails in.
Calamari is decent enough if done correctly, but not really my choice.
That’s fair. I get it, I just, as long as something is safe to eat and not human… I’d try it haha.
I respect your bravery. I’d also never try alligator that’s just weird man eating a literal dinosaur
Alligator is delicious. In between chicken and fish.
Maybe I got not a great piece but the one I had was chicken consistency and big fishy taste in a bad way.
It reminds me of catfish. When I’ve had it, it was super mild.
Interesting, I love Catfish! But again, I don’t remember if I had Gator or Croc, I think Gator.
Gator is very good. It is a common food item at all Fairs and Carnivals in the south. Gator Tail on stick. Goes very well with a cold beer.
I can’t remember, I was at Brazillian steakhouse and it was either Gator or Croc, but tried it. Didn’t like it. It had the consistency of chicken but tasty fishy, like gamey fishy.
I’ve had alligator. It tastes like chicken.
Have you ever had turtle? It also tastes like chicken.
Not to mention chickens are basically dinosaurs as well. They are short little velociraptors.
That edit is rather hilarious.
Also, I have never had rabbit, but I would definitely try it. I would also try horse.
I think the Animals being humanized is because most domesticated dogs are much kinder than most humans.
Just my hawt taek today.
Dogs good.
people suck (Esp FTP Fans).
Why would she want to be me?
I’m pretty sure I’m the only one that wants to be me.
I am O Neg, squad loved me in the army as O Neg are Universal Donors.
Yup. Watched Megan Leavey (sp?) the other day and she had her blood type on a little shoulder wrap doodad…that how the US does it? In Canadia it is on your dogtag.
No idea who/what Megan Leavey is.
We have it on our dog tags and your squad knows who can donate to who in an emergency.
A lot of people are really into this “not the dog’s fault, owner’s fault, the dog can be rehabilitated.” F that, as much as I love my chocos they bite a human and they get a bullet to the head.
The 2 year old choco got bluff charged by a cow while we were bird hunting, he got after it nipping at the heels but once he had the cow in full flight I buzzed him down with the e-collar. It’s one thing to control livestock and another to run them into the ground. I might, just might, make an exception to chickens but so far all my dogs seem to understand the difference between chickens and other birds of a feather, although they like to carry the chickens around.
You are one of the good dog owners. There are too many that don’t have a clue how to own a dog and too many that the dog is an extension of the owners self important immaturity.
Anything to pull at the heart strings of the people who only think with their hearts and not their brains. This was well played by the nbc group – purple hair they/thems will be big mad and this story will be a stain on her for a loooooong time lol.
This isn’t an NBC story, I just sent the first article I could find. It’s a story all over the place. I mean I know they covered it, but really so did everyone else.
Understand, but the nbc, cnbc, msn, etc style reporting will be the ones constantly vilifying it from here until she’s no longer in politics. Get’s the loud crowd riled up. It’s the same playbook we’ve seen for 8 years now bro. That was my only point, yes all news outlets covered it but some much differently.
Stupid sissified, citified country we live in. Animals die and animals need to be put down sometimes.
Imagine if an R had the dog Joe has.
Apparently, Joe’s dog bites people regularly
Media would have a fit about it.
And it’s the second one. He already had to get rid of one for biting people.
If someone has a dog that bites people and they are ok with it, it says a lot about them as a person.
Zero tolerance for dogs that want to inflict harm on a human. Just like a scum human also.
Well, that pretty much sums up Joe as a person.
He must treat his pets like crap.
I’ve heard it’s pretty common for pets of people with dementia to get aggressive.
Media (left) has a fit if an R has bacon for breakfast. Or wakes up for the day. Or exists.
I’m going to make spaghetti carbonara tonight. I am way more excited about this than is probably reasonable.
Welcome to adulthood…
‘spaghetti carbonara’
Making me look things up this early on a Monday morning. Meanie.
what is carbonara?
Burnt spaghetti
Peppery, porky pasta.
Basically, instead of making spaghetti with tomato sauce, you make spaghetti with bacon and an egg/cheese sauce.
Interesting, maybe I’ll try it someday
Awesome! What time should I be there?
6 p.m.
You can stay over!
I hope you aren’t a prude in bed…

Guess the singer in the video posted in the mythical words up top is not Black since he isn’t supporting Brandon.
Funny lyrics though.
He is black, its actually a remake of a song he did 20+ years ago, but instead of because I got high, its hunter got high, gave me a good chuckle.
No, Joe said if you don’t vote for him “then you ain’t black.”
FJB.
Not my type but you go ahead.
No kink shaming.
‘He is black’
No Brandon says if you don’t support him you aren’t.
Sounds like something a racist would say
Well Sleepy did support Strom Thurmond so…..
If I don’t like NASCAR, does that make me a racist?
I think the woke believe if you like NASCAR you must be a racist.
Red state type of thing, probably want to send you to rehab.
Sorry, I’m ill today so I am going to explain my weak joke. NASCAR is racing.
I know what NASCAR is, wildly popular in the south, aka red states, therefore inherently racist per the woke crowd.
They stand for the anthem.
And pray before races.
Old school bow. No need for that crap anymore.
And chant ‘Lets Go Brandon”.
lol
Shoot, NASCAR created the chant.
If you don’t like racing you must be racist.
No, if you like racing you must be racist.
Both cannot be true!
#smiles
Made me laugh too.
Colt .45 is his best song imo.
Timber Puppies sweep! Finchy to IR? Well, better him than Ant i guess.
Maybe the Lakers can win a game and give Finch a couple extra days to recover.
Lakers already won one against the defending champion.
You want them to win another one???
I would like it to go to game 7, if it means Finch doesn’t miss a game.
Tall order since they had lost 11 in a row to Denver before winning game 4.
Not expecting it, but it would be nice.
T’wolves lost a bunch in a row to the Suns before this series.
Think before this year lost 10 of last 11. Lost all 3 this year, all by double digits. Go figure.
Most likely has surgery in the next couple days, then will have to sit on a stool or something
Prob be at least a week anyways. Wonder if Finch has to go under the knife? Might be problematic. Didn’t see but Ant roll a ankle?
I think I heard torn patellar and will need surgery between series.
I’m happy for the Minnesotans that cheer for all the Minnesota teams.
Oilers gutted out a game 4 win in LA last night 1-0 to take a 3-1 lead. Hopefully they take the series at home Tuesday.
Not watching alot. Think Avs playing well, that’s prob a given. Canucks doing ok. I’m fine with Oil winning.
Once again, TO is gonna bow out gracefully to Boston in the first round. @You can always count on the eastern Canadian teams to make noise in the playoffs@.
Just a reminder as to what it’s like being a MN sports fan.
https://x.com/JonKrawczynski/status/1784807053275406765
very crazy to see a minnesota sports team absolutely DOMINATE another team for 4 straight games.
loved watching every minuite
i was just reading that Mel Kiper Jr gave the Vikings a C+ (he’s an obvious idiot, i just like reading about vikings)…
he had on there that the vikings top needs before the draft were QB, CB, and WR (further proving his idiocy thinking WR was a top need)
He’s just bold face talk, why they have him on every year i’ll never know.
AND…you have to pay for ESPN+ to read his stuff.
Who’s got that kind of coin?
Who the hell is Mel Kiper Jr?
We lost KJ and still have the best WR in the league and last year’s best rookie WR… yup we are hurtin for certain!
Gooooose morning Skolbros!
QotD: It wasn’t a sexy pick, but it just might have teeth.
I’m honestly so happy with landing McCarthy and Turner that I don’t mind it so much. Blair Walsh’s late career yips and Daniel Carlson’s early career flameout have me snake bit on kickers – but I do think Minny landed the best of the bunch in Reichard.
Goose is skeptical.

They deserve each other.
Is JJ officially #9?
I gotta get my jersey ordered.
As of right now, Trishton Jackson is #9, I’m guessing JJ ends up #9 by training camp
JJ to TJ
Could be a tall order for a rookie to buy out all of those old #9’s from such a huge fan favorite.
Tommy Kramer?
LOL.
No.
Two Minute Tommy gave his blessing.
Tristan Jackson.
I’m pretty excited for a new kicker. It’s a round six pick, so it’s a good pick. It’s not like you’re going to find the GOAT QB of all time in that round or anything.
Better chance you find a starting kicker than any other position. Hopefully the Vikings took the right one.
FYI…
The Vikings are where kickers go to die.
The QB and Kicker curses have been broken and the Vikings have future HOFers at both positions now. I guess we can call the kicker curse officially broken when he kicks the game winner in the NFCCG.
Yes please.
I will take whatever it is you are taking.
I’m good with that as long as he is kicking the game winner at the 2 minute mark of the first quarter in a 52-0 curb stomp. I would puke if the Vikings were lining up for a long game winning FG with time about to expire.
