New York Giants Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor joined former President Donald Trump on stage during his New Jersey rally on Saturday, stating his family “will never vote Democrat again.”

“I just wanted to say, I grew up a Democrat, and I’ve always been a Democrat—until I met this man right here,” Taylor said of Trump on stage at the rally, which officials claimed brought a record-setting crowd of 80,000 to the famed Boardwalk. “I’ll tell you what: He will not have to worry about anybody in my family ever voting for a Democrat again, OK?”

Whenever they think he is ‘ready’.
I suspect that will be as some point this season.
What point that will be I have no idea.
Just thinking Collage to Pro is a pretty big leap.

I’d just like to see him come out of the gate hot & take over the spot. Some guys just absorb the game quickly, I hope he’s one of them.

Sloter always lit up training camp. He was never actually good enough to start. McCarthy will probably get his head handed to him in real games. He does have all the talent in the world around him though. Just that interior O-line worries me. Plus even though we now brought in Jones at RB, to date, KOC had a first year with Dalvin Cook and averaged 97 yards a game rushing (6th worst in the NFL) and last year we averaged 91 yards a game (4th worst in the league). KOC needs a far better running game for a rookie QB to lean on (like Russell Wilson did).

Vikings fans should rejoice! They aren’t on this list!

Longest active season streaks without posting a win-loss record over .500:

Jets (8)
Commanders (7)
Broncos (7)
Falcons (6)
Panthers (6)
Bears (5)

So, the Vikings’ defense improved from a 24th ranking in 2022 per DVOA, to 11th in 2023 with Flores in charge. The team has brought in new personnel, including Jonathan Greenard, Andrew Van Ginkel, Dallas Turner, Blake Cashman, and Shaquill Griffin, that one would think were hand-picked by Flores. Could Flores get this defense into a top 5 position with those new players?

Hopefully, especially if the offense doesn’t take a huge step backward. A tired defense is an ineffective defense.

Depends on the quality of the offenses we are playing, and the experience of the QB.

You failed to list Khyree Jackson CB we drafted in the 4th round.

Kollmann talked about how he ‘Adored him’ in his pre-draft analysis, thought he would go in the 3rd or even the late 2nd round. I wasn’t that high on him until I found this after the draft, now I am excited to see what he can do.

He starts discussing him at the 55:40 mark.

Jackson is an interesting player, with great size, and good speed (4.5 forty). Hope he turns into something.

I have heard it said that Jackson was drafted because he can cover Rome Odunze WR drafted by the Bears at #9 (and has as both were Pac 12).

Same as Dallas Turner was drafted to contain The CryBaby when he tries to go ‘off script’.

I trust Flores to get him into situations to be ‘all that’.

I love the Jackson pick. I think he likely fell because of his age (he’ll be 25 when the season starts) not seen or heard one bad thing regarding his character – was talented enough to go to Tuscaloosa and couldn’t get on the field there. He’s rangy, got good ball skills and decent speed – and from the little I saw on tape he’s a solid tackler.

Looking at the Vikings secondary I’m wondering where the odd man out is. Last year Minnesota carried 5 cornerbacks on the roster to end the season: Murphy, Blackmon, Evans, Booth and Najee Thompson. They carried 6 safeties: Smith, Bynum, Cine, Metellus, Ward, Jackson.

This year Smith, Bynum, Metellus – all locks. I could see them cutting or trading Cine (likely a cut) and I think Najee Thompson is also a lock because of his special teams ability (also think he could get moved to Safety – he’s moved positions before in college) I think Ward and Jackson will have to fight an uphill battle to get on the roster (Ward did nothing but cost us points last year, twice iirc) Don’t remember Jackson flashing much.

On the Cornerback side I think the locks are Murphy, Evans, Blackmon and Jackson (R) – I think the last CB spot, if they carry 5, will come down to a battle between Booth, Griffin, and a handful of UDFA’s/PS guys (Joejuan Williams, AJ Green, Jaylin Williams, Dwight McGlothern)

I also wouldn’t rule out a flip – carrying 5 safeties and 6 corners – depending on how they view Najee Thompson – I think position battles will be intense, Cine will be under a microscope and it wouldn’t surprise me to see him cut/moved early in camp.

Sounds like 11 DBs will be carried and we have 8 ‘locks’ some busts that are on their last chance and some others/unknowns that have a chance at roster or a practice squad spot.

Finding 3 more to keep shouldn’t be difficult since we have Flores deciding who will best fit his scheme.

Slow play is my nemesis too. I’m a very fast player. I know pretty quickly what I want to do with a shot and what club I want to hit. Heard Ken Venturi say on a broadcast “if you’re gonna miss it, miss it quick”. I tell folks “I have a 50/50 chance of it hitting it good or bad. I can’t wait to see what happens!”

Ben, my sisters husband passed away a year ago after battling dementia a couple of years. She’s 6 years older than me, and quite frail. She has emphysema, and not in the best of health. She fell and broke her hip in two places a couple weeks ago. She was living alone in Myrtle Beach, too far away from me. I had asked her to move down after husband died, but she didn’t want to. The day before she fell and broke her hip, she and I talked and she admitted she could no longer live on her own. She said she was going to move into assisted living, but I said “no, you’re living with me for the rest of your life”. We finally got her down here yesterday.

damn, sorry to hear she’s had such a tough go recently, good to hear she is with you and your wife now, being with family is always best. Reminds me of when I was in college and my grandma, who had Parkinson’s, couldn’t keep up with the housekeeping and maintenance of her house and her kids tried to get her to move into an assisted living facility but she was not having it. That November the snow removal guy didn’t get out to shovel her walkway in time for her to get to church, but nothing was going to stop her from her daily routine so she walked out anyway, she inevitably fell and shattered both wrist bones. She still refused assisted living, so we made a deal, she let me live with her rent free and I took care of things like lawn care, snow removal, bringing in all the groceries, etc. it was a great year, I got to know her on a whole other level, never realized what an amazing sense of humor she had, I really enjoyed being of service to her during that time, though it was a bit awkward the time she caught me having sex, she didn’t seem to realize what was going on but I’m pretty sure she did
