Around Here
We had a great night bird hunting last night. Fishing buddy, kiddo, and I went out for a couple hours and we got a couple birds. We saw a bunch more, but only got shots off a couple times. A lot of the birds were skittish, getting up & flying whenever we got within 100 yards (we didn’t have a dog along on this hunt), and some of them sat tight. I almost stepped on the first bird we shot, I walked right by him & he flew up when I was five yards past him & flew behind me. There were a ton of birds, more than I’ve seen in years, so I’m excited for the rest of bird season, it should be a lot of fun. Hopefully kiddo can shoot his first bird, he didn’t get a shot off tonight, but he’ll be ready next time, he wants to go again tomorrow. I think he’s hooked. I can’t wait for the pheasant & wild rice soup, I’m guessing that’s what we’ll make for Thursday’s game.

Football Stuff
The Ravens are beating up on the Buccaneers as I write this, I think the Ravens have this one in the bag. The Cardinals are in a close match with the Chargers, hard to say who’ll win that one, it should be close. Watching the rest of the league, I’d have to say that the Ravens, Chiefs, Lions, and Vikings are the best four teams in the NFL. The Ravens are stout, that rushing attack is fierce.
I’m as anxious as anyone for the Vikings to find an upgrade or upgrades at the interior O line. Ingram is our weakest link, and Bradbury is only slightly better. That being said, as bowbunch pointed out, that is often easier said than done. That’s true, but the pool of players to choose from should be large because it won’t take a whole lot to upgrade from Ingram, according to PFF. Ingram is currently ranked 71st in the NFL (out of 78 total guards who met the minimum snap count) in overall grade, and 73rd at pass blocking. Ingram’s PFF pass blocking grade is 35.8, which is bad. Again, these rankings are from PFF, so grain of salt, but the eye test seems to agree with this, as he’s been unpleasant to watch. Let’s hope the brilliant people in the Vikings front office can work some magic. Like bow said, the team doesn’t have much draft capital to use to go get someone, but maybe they can give up a guy like Jordan Addison? They’re talking about moving him after the season anyway. I don’t know, there are no perfect answers, but going with Ingram for the rest of the year isn’t a perfect answer, either.
Question of the day:
Which player would you like to see the Vikings pursue in order to replace Ingram, or do you think the Vikings should roll with Ingram? Something else? Let us know in the comments.
Vikings/NFL News and Updates:
From Vikings.com, the Vikings @ Rams week 8 injury report. Also, the week 9 Vikings vs. Colts game has been flexed to Sunday Night Football.
Someone over at SI.com thinks the same way most of us do. They say that the Vikings should bench Ed Ingram and start Dalton Risner. I don’t think they’ll get much argument around here, Ingram is the weak spot on the team, upgrade if you can, IMO.
Tough week for the 49ers. Brandon Aiyuk is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL/MCL against the Chiefs, and Deebo Samuel has been hsopitalized with pneumonia & fluid in his lungs, updates from NFL.com.
Your final NFL week 7 scores and highlights, courtesy of CBS Sports.

Hey, here’s another interesting compilation from AJ at the Why Files. I love these episodes, he does a great job of exploring all sides of an argument & being open to other ideas. I also love Hecklefish, I think he’s hilarious. Anyway, enjoy!
Thread Guidelines
- Keep politics out. We are adults, news happens, and we can talk about it. What we don’t want is to go down the rabbit holes and turn a productive conversation into name calling and personal attacks.
- Be cool to one another. Like it says above, just be civil. You don’t need to agree with everyone and that’s fine, you also don’t need to make it personal. Attack the argument not the poster.
- Keep the NSFW to a minimum. We don’t need anyone getting in trouble at work for hanging out here.
- All in all, be adults. Treat each other with respect and things will be fine. Mods will take out content they feel is pushing the boundary. If you want to reach out about something feel free to ask. We want to have robust discussions, that’s why we’re here, just be civil.
- Twitter sized version: Be cool to one another
McDonald’s says they have no record of Harris working there. If true, that’s a pretty blatant lie.
Yeah, she made this story up when campaigning and pandering to minimum wage workers. She failed to list her claimed McDonald’s gig on a job application back in the 1980’s. She was asked to list every position she’d held over the previous decade, and curiously neglected to include the fast food job she now says she had during that time frame. She told a lie for a political end. Pretty clear to me.
Just politics IMO.
On a CNN town hall, sure it will be riveting.
Almost anything Trump says will provoke the press to take one sentence, out of context, and proclaim him a liar.
Joe has been Irish, Italian, a truck driver, football star, academy prospect and no one seems to care.
So it’s no real surprise that Harris could claim anything and get away with it.
It’s clear to many that the mainstream media is nothing more than the propaganda arm of the left, and they have purposely misinformed (lied) to the public in order to influence elections in favor of their preferred party. We, the American people, should bring suit against them for their lies and put them out of business.
For sure, little more than PR firms for the left.
What’s scary is people who can’t or won’t see through it.
Those are the same people telling us we’re mindless, brainwashed sheep.
What’s with the rumor we are interested in Stafford? Old, beat up and expensive. WT…?
Through six games, Stafford has thrown 3 TD’s and 4 interceptions. He’s definitely not lighting it up like he used to.
Pretty sure that started from a very blatant satire dude and people are gullible.
Interesting conversations on Sports Talk Radio this morning. Rumors of the Rams wanting to trade away Cooper Kupp and possibly Matt Stafford, as well.
The Chiefs picked up DeAndre Hopkins. More firepower for them…
Does seem like some teams are plugging holes. Got Hopkins for a fifth round pick.
I think we only have three draft picks in 2025, right now.
A first and 2 thirds is all?
How’s the cleanup going?
We’re good, cleaned up all the debris in the yard, and cleared the downed tree. Waiting on the crew to come fix the lanai. Golf course behind us is still flooded. The lake was all the up to the lanai, and the cart path was under about three feet of water. The sand traps fronting the green were also submerged. Today (two weeks later) the water is out of the traps, and cart path is still under about a foot and a half of water. Half of my back yard is still under water too. The alligator has been seen in several folks’ back yards as well.
Two hurricanes in 10 days is really tough.
Glad the cleanup is going well.
2 5’s, 3rd day.
So a first round, and two fifth round picks… not real strong there.
I remember we traded our second, third and fourth round picks in the 2024 Draft in exchange for the pick used to take Dallas Turner.
We traded our sixth and seventh round picks to the Browns in the Smith deal in 2023.
I think we expect to be awarded one compensatory pick though based on our free agency comings and goings this past year.
Bridge year, need money for FA’s.
And the 3rd Comp pick from KC.
OK, tomorrow night we play the Rams. My gut says we win this one.
Your gut has been very accurate this season. Keep it going!
SKOL!

It’s Wednesday..
J E T S…Jets, Jets Jets !!!!!!
Nothing like a tasty booger!
🤮
Must be psychedelic boogers.
See the Niners with all their injuries are out looking for some skill players.
Wish I knew of a team that might have one to give up for a pretty good guard or something.
Na, nobody is probably looking for a good interior lineman.
Don’t think any quality is out there. Have a 1st and 2 3rd round picks. Need to figure out with what we have.
And where would you rank Ingram on the “quality” scale?
What PFF grades him. Try Risner or guy on PS, what’s to lose?
A championship game down the road.
Now you’ve hit on one that might actually have a guard to give, but I have a hard time thinking Shanny would. One of their starters is a rookie (RG, Dominick Puni) so I doubt they move him. Their starting LG is Aaron Banks. He is 27 and in the last year of his rookie deal. The Shanny system is similar enough that he might actually work here and he wouldn’t have a big cap hit to the 9ers. Not sure how they feel about the depth behind him or if he’s any good. If they don’t plan on re-signing him this year, which is possible with the cash they are going to have to give Purdy, might be able to get him for a late round pick. I would still be leery to give up a player unless they’ll take Nailor or Powell. The Vikings did bring back Jackson so maybe Nailor for Banks would be possible. (Also, Nailor? I barely know her)
Now all we need is for the Vikings FO to be reading this blog and give a flying fuck about what any of us would do…..
Boo. — Goose knows better.
Good – found one for you.
Now, the Niners are desperate at this point. They are going down without some receivers.
And we’ve got some time. We have a few easier games to work someone in and then be ready for playoff time.
Might have better luck at a 7-11.
Isn’t that the cornerback store?
You got palm trees in Delaware now? Is that Hunter in the cape and hat?
I even closed half of the lid
sweet allen wrenches
Those are tent stakes, we set up the tent on the concrete & cleaned it the other day.
i take it back. lame tent stakes
They’re pretty good, heavier gauge, they don’t bend easily.
You need a bigger slide though.
lol, no wonder why it takes you multiple days to change a battery, you don’t even know what tools are
He used allen wrenches to set up his tent and tent stakes to change his battery.
First world problem: I have to get out of my hot tub because the leaves keep falling in here.
VOTE IN 2 WEEKS! 4 LESS YEARS. 4 LESS YEARS!
i know someone who isn’t going to vote….
I bet the ballot has already been printed and sent in on their/your behalf.
oh no no i’m voting, at least once.
Vote early, vote often.
Let’s do this!
Shit for brains. Imagine that and tampon?
Does Jeruh sign Flores? We pick up Saleh? Possible.
we should pick up Saleh now, as a special assistant, in case Flores is gone
Couldn’t hurt bringing him in now should Flo leave for greener pastures next off-season.
Depends if Saleh wants to stick it to the Jets for his salary.
Whatever Saleh makes in Minny, reduces Jets amount owed.
That’s usually how it works for NFL coaches.
Flores will get another shot as HC I guess. Saleh might not be a bad choice to replace him should he be hired elsewhere.
Yes, this will happen, I have foreseen it.
Don’t think Jerry would touch Flores. He’s got a mess going on down there and needs something “big” to mop this up. He’s running out of time at he age.
@we’ll sign Zimmer@
Now that we are close to halfway through the season, I would like to see these changes to the new kickoff rules:
If they just spotted on 25 i’m good.
And if the kicker puts it through the uprights? Start at the 10?
I love the pheasant hunting stories. I used to hunt birds with my dad back in the 70s. i still remember my first bird, and still love eating pheasant
I don’t hunt, but pheasant is delicious.
Love stories too and should have said so. Started in the early 60’s with my Dad. used a single shot, hammer 16 guage. Great memories.
But haven’t seen or eaten a pheasant in years.
Wow, 16 ga single, cool. Probably a Harrison and Richardson (HR)
Don’t know, a hand me down from my grandfather – it was old but well kept and worked well.
Few years later ‘graduated’ to a 12 guage model 12 Winchester which I just loved. One of the best shotguns ever made.
That’s what I shoot, Remington 870 Wingmaster 12 gauge
What i have. Been around forever. Tad heavy tho.
A little, I don’t notice yet, I’m only 50
Kiddo has a single shot hammer .410, he’s ready to move up to a .20 gauge. A 16 gauge is a nice tweener until you’re ready for a 12 gauge
That’s what I learned on. Break-barrel .410. Put so many shells thru that thing we cracked the barrel – dad sawed it off and the stock to a handle and turned into a varmint/snake charmer….
I have my eye on a 410 pistol, something to carry for hiking in case we see a rattler
Get the Judge that shoots 45 and 410.
I looked at that one
There’s a Bond Arms snake slayer, looks nice. Double barrel.
I carry something called “avoidance” or if all else fails, a “rock” with which to persuade the rattlesnake to proceed on his merry way, or if close to my house bonk him on the head until I can retrieve a “shovel” with which to decapitate and bury him.
I find them very lightweight and unlikely to result in my toe getting blown off.
“Better to have it & not need it than need it & not have it”
You should see my chocos heads snap when a rooster gives that gate swinging cackle on the other side of the creek. I don’t let them run out there for two reasons – they’ll take a meandering path back home through the muddiest part of the creek and they scare off the roosters that we will subsequently hunt when the master deems it is time.
i had never gone pheasant hunting until i married into my wife’s family.
been married 13 years, usually pheasant hunt once or twice a year out in mt vikings backyard. I shot 4 or 5 pheasants my first time, foolishly thought “this is easy”
i’ve probably shot the same amount in the last 10 times out…
Minny used to have tons of them, habitat has pretty much destroyed it.
my dad quit hunting when he started having kids, unsure why…
but we were a fishing family through and through so that’s fun for me to pass down to my kids.
i’m not a very good shot when it comes to hunting.
I would think you would do more hunting once you have kids. “Sorry honey, I am hunting all weekend, junior just shat his pants and baby is hungry, cya”
so funny story…
i thought that as well…to get a break, get out etc…
i dislike my brother in law so much, and honestly do not trust hunting next to him, especially hunting a bird that JUMPS out….
that i tend to either stick back or do something else
I much prefer hunting solo, also, not only for the safety factor but difference in technique. I let birds go if they are more than 35 yards out, if they jump when the dog(s) are nowhere near them, if I can’t clearly see rooster coloring, etc etc etc
We appreciate the $110 license fee you wealthy Minnesotan you. Unless you just get a 3 day license, then it’s “only” $50.
i bought one for a couple years, i wouldn’t call what i do now hunting, so i don’t buy them anymore. don’t turn me in.
I shan’t, but you would get in big big trouble if you get caught.
Only lose his gun, possibly his truck, few hundred dollar fine and not be able to legally hunt for a year or two. No biggie.
I know all the local judges and it would not go well for a Minnesotan hunting without a license. Not well at all.
I buy a sportsman license here in North Dakota, it doesn’t cost much and I can hunt everything
Kindred spirits, I get the “sportsman without bear” license, $62 plus a few more dollars for non recreational weed and such. I never understand why I don’t need to bear the license while I’m hunting.
It’s well worth it, then I know I can basically shoot anything I might have a notion to kill. Besides people, of course.
Ringnecks are cool.
Can’t wait to eat it tomorrow night. Yum
tensions are rising in the Middle East. I heard from someone who might know that the US is preparing for war and it could start soon. Possibly as a means of helping sway the election….
Naw, not even the Democrats would do that.
I heard that there was a big intelligence leak of Israeli plans to attack Iran, but the White House is suppressing all infor…just a sec, someone is pounding on my office doo
LOL
It has been nice knowing you MT.
You might want to look up the person Biden selected as the Senior Director of Intelligence for the National Security Council, Maher Bitar. Hugely anti Israel, and a political activist for Palestinian organizations.
Somehow I just came up with an idea of where the leak originated. Not sure why I feel that way?
I first met Bitar when he was serving as the general counsel for the House Intelligence Committee Democrats in 2017. He was joined at the hip with Adam Schiff and played a big role in the Dem’s first attempt to impeach Trump.
Blair? She’s hot.
Blair Witch auto rec
I was thinking of the Blair from that sitcom in the 80s
I would not like Schiff one little bit in person. I usually say even the most far leaning politician from my ideology would likely charm the socks off me but I just don’t see me enjoying his company.
There’s crappy politicians and then pond scum ones – Schiff is the later.
Eve of Destruction. Barry McGuire.
Viet Nam survived and so did we. Now, who has there finger on the button today.
Not sure if you know the song but lyrics eerily frightening.
Remember it well. Was one of those who could be commanded to go but couldn’t vote.
all because of a birthright and a pot of stew….
Some day, I would like to ask God why he let that area devolve into such a mess.
Injury update:
Hock is year to year.
Laughing
Rams run defense is brutal.
Pass defense is better than ours (not hard to do LOL)
I’d love to see us run all over them.
I think that is likely what they lean on – Jones and the running game. Or I hope so.
Just tell Ackers, no KO returns when he catches the ball in the endzone
We should be able to run on them then with Jones and Ackers. Curious how Sam will play, didn’t look too good the last 2 games.
Well, Akers maybe.
Starburst Jelly Beans are the best jelly beans.
Jelly Bellys are a gimmick, but you are limited to eating one at a time, lest unexpected flavors clash, like popcorn with cactus or something.
Traditional Jelly Beans are okay.
Starburst STAWBERRY Jelly Beans are the best jelly beans
#nojinx
I don’t know what to think about the Rams game. Vikes should win, but I have nagging doubt with this one.
Yet, Vikes should win.
But…
If Stafford gets going a TO or 2, ya it could go south.
I think my doubt is because I kind of view Thursday night games like London games. They are weird…
#nojinx
Same.
I do suffer from “past collapse” syndrome.
Vikings have done it twice. Of course the only team in NFL history to do so.
@Never happen a third time@
Samesies. That’s why I want to see a W on Thursday, despite the circumstances. Bounce back immediately and win.
I had hoped that Kupp would be out another week, but it is what it is. Hope they won’t get Nacua back as well, at least.
what’s the point of even opening his “window” if he isn’t gonna play
I don’t think they had a choice.
You can only keep someone on IR for a designated amount of time if you want that player to play at all during the season.
Needs to be on roster by Thursday or he’s lost for the season.
Maybe it is stuffy inside, and he needs some fresh air.
Ha!
So if they play him for some limited snaps on Thursday he will have 10d to recover before the next game.
NOOOOO-oooo-ooooooh!
Just fuckin play him KOC. Jesus.
Agree….
This is awesome !!
Who is this?
I got no clue.
LB the Vikings signed to the practice squad.
Lifetime back up for the most part but did work for Coach Flo in Miami and NE.
Munson?

QofTD:
Nothing can be done at this point with IOL.
If Risner is healthy, play him to see if he fares better than Ingram.
Bradbury had another false start. He has false starts on a regular basis.
Tough game ahead.
Short week in LA.
If someone gets injured on the IOL, SOMETHING will be done at this point, so saying NOTHING can be done is uncorrect.
Well yeah, I mean I’m sure they have a 3rd or 4th stringer on the PS.
That’s not better though.
I assumed the question was based on improving the position.
I think it would force them to do something better than elevate someone from the PS.
I side with JRobert. We don’t need an all-pro, just someone with a better track record than Ingram/Risner (because we weren’t exactly overjoyed with his play last season either).
Vikings brass (who get paid a lot more than I do to know these things) have a few people on paper that they could target in a trade if needed.
Life goals. I am confused at the way they said “more than a thousand rounds of ammunition” though. Is a thousand rounds considered a lot?
Isn’t that sort of a “normal” stash out in Montana?
Minor league stash. Told my wife years ago that kids will likely sell my stuff at pennies on the dollar after I die. But I have not gone without during the off again on again powder shortages, primer shortages etc. I know a guy that lives off grid that has over 200k rds. Claims he is former MI 6. He does have a brit accent.
Yeah, that’s barely enough for an afternoon.
My greatest fear is that my wife will some day sell my hunting stuff for what I told her I paid for it.
During Desert Storm wives left behind while their Military Husbands were deployed sold their husbands guns for ready cash.
A lot were pretty cheap as the wives just wanted (needed?) some spending cash.
My wife would have to call my buddy over to open the safe. I’ve told her the combo but I doubt she remembers it and I don’t know that she knows the correct combination of spins.
Most of the ‘deals’ were cash and carry with no paperwork. Figured they might not be ‘strictly legal’. Plus you had to consider pissed off husbands when they got back.
I was still in high school. I enlisted during Desert Storm. I didn’t realize until recently that that entire war was based on a lie. The Bushes are some crooked motherfuckers, Cheney is a scumbag POS.
And his daughter is an even bigger one!
Yyyyyyyyyyep
I would say that Saddam Hussein needed to be removed though.
I agree, we did. Iraq was bullshit.
LOL!
That is good stuff!
That brings up an interesting question. Straw poll I wonder how many married couples keep their finances separate to the point that one spouse has no idea what the other spends any given month.
Us – my wife and I opened a joint chequing account two months after we started to date and completely merged our finances within a year…but it still took me three more years to convince her to marry me. All our financial decisions down to hunting gear are made jointly.
During younger and leaner times we had a rule any purchase over $50 had to be discussed.
Our finances are one. (Just like our union). For me I always thought having my “own” money spoke against a complete giving of myself to my wife. None the less, don’t fault others for doing it different. Most know what works best for their own marriages.
Same as SkolfromMT…we merged our meager finances immediately after getting married..
We don’t discuss every single purchase but anything significant (over 200 dollars or so) is generally discussed.
We do have a budget that we monitor and track, so if one of us were to purchase something outlandish it would be noticed.
Retired couple here, been retired one year. about 3 years ago we built our retirement budget out and did a 2 year test drive. We move X dollars a month into our joint checking, and Y dollars into each of our individual accounts. if I want new fishing gear, I use my account and get it.
it works great for us
That sounds like a great solution.
Wife and I made an agreement over 30 years ago. I make the money and she spends it
It’s worked well so far.
Love it!
LOL
Same here…
This is also the Surly plan
Ours are together too.
Hahaha
Minor league – but I was a little impressed with the 50 caliber.
The underground shooting range is awesome.
That’s extreme. 200,000 rounds? I have prepper buddies that claim they would trade ammo for essential goods after the fall, they can never quite convince me how they would prevent being decapitated by a marauding mob that is aware of their stash.
You have to form your own marauding mob and go communal. It is really the only way…
Often say similar to a prepper buddy of mine. First day of hostilities you’re gonna take one right between the eyes.
Yeah, my buddies are all like “oh we would meet in a neutral setting and do the exchange and then go our separate ways”. Uh huh. I’m sure a starving man trying to feed his family is going to exchange a hog and first aid supplies for 200 rounds of .30-06 and not be curious at all about your sitcheeayeshun.
If you want to be a lone wolf, I don’t think you can have any contact with other people.
On the other hand, if you are in a marauding mob, you also probably have to agree to being some larger, hairier man’s girlfriend…
So, it’s a trade off.
Note to self: Be a lone wolf…
Haha.
Amen
Why would a starving person be giving up food?
Same reason we would trade a good to great receiver for an ok RG.
Idiocy and mal-nourishment, got it.
Well, 200 rounds of .30-06 could provide a lot more food than a hog in my hypothetical situation. Or fend off a roving pack of dogs killing livestock.
Too bad he was forced to ‘hide guns in secret bunker’.
^this
Yup, this.
Gun laws are pretty draconian in Australia as far as I know. The government there has successfully disarmed the population, so a 1000 rounds seem to be a big deal over there. Poor Aussies.
I listened to a lady lawyer talking about the Delphi case the other day, and she said it was highly doubtful that any gun owner would have a box of ammo seven years old.
I still have boxes of ammo my dad bought in the 1980s…
Yeah, I have ammo ranging in age from 20 years ago to now. The people who don’t know firearms are the ones writing rules about them. Makes no sense.
I have more than that, I have over 1,000 rounds of 9mm rounds alone.
it is fun to have 2 of the best players at their sport, in the same state.
the wolves are building a great team with a chance at the championship, and the vikings are on the right trajectory as well..
What if they both won a championship in the same year or at least within a year or two of each other? Then the Wild just need to get their poop in a group and get one. They have some pretty good young talent so it’s not impossible.
the wild are always in it, but just don’t seem to have enough to make a deep run.
well and then the twins…. jk
There’s a reason I didn’t mention the Twins. Maybe a new owner will change that tide. I’m hopeful that the young guys on the Wild take a step up like Boldy.
Also, Gus needs more time and if they make the playoffs it shouldn’t be the Flower show.
Ant is good, but he’s no Bronny.
i’m trying to figure out if the bucs really screwed up by continuing to try when they were down big and got their 2 best wr’s hurt (godwin probably broken leg or ankle)….
but…don’t you try to always win even when down? at what point do you quit so you don’t get anyone hurt? anyone can get hurt on any play, whether you are trying to quit or not
Really hard for the coach to pull starters or go conservative and then turn around and tell players he needs 100%, 100% of the time.
i agree. which is why everyone who’s saying todd bowles is an idiot, i just can’t get on board with.
How bad were they down when Godwin got hurt? I was watching war history videos instead of football last night.
bucs were down 10 with like 50 seconds to go. BUT to be fair, they scored a td, GOT the onside kick and went and scored another TD. so it wasn’t crazy they were trying hard
Yeah, that’s close enough that crazier things have happened. Now if they were down 30 or something with a minute to go that’s a different story.
I didn’t understand why they had Evans playing. Dude was limping from the get go and clearly in pain, caught a TD pass, tried to catch a 2nd one and might now be out for the season.
Why do coaches decide to let him play if he’s clearly injured? Or was it his decision to try and help his team?
Godwin’s injury is sad, but that can happen on any given play I guess.
In the heat of the game, he probably said he was ok and the doctors agreed with him so the coach just went with their word.
I don’t know how they could have missed Evans literally limping on the sideline after his TD catch in that case. He clearly wasn’t OK.
Not buying it.
Swing states are already saying the vote will take days to count. How is it that computers take days to count votes but 3rd world countries can do it in a night by hand?
And those would be the states that first need to figure out ‘what they need’ before they stop counting.
It never seemed to be a problem years ago. I’m guessing that election software they bought that was used in the great elections of Venezuela is helping a lot.
Not sure what part you are not buying.
Have seen odds of a Trump win above 60%.
This seems a little high but not extreme.
Fox had a story about the betting markets just today.
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/what-election-betting-odds-expert-explains-why-trump-current-favorite
I’m just not going to underestimate the odds and ability for shitfuckery.
i wonder how many water pipes will break this go around….
I’ve already heard reports of voting machines changing votes. You’ll never believe it but once again, they all go in one direction.
do they go in the way of trump? tell me the repubs have finally gotten in the cheating game as well
Suuurrreee.
when it comes to the cheating game, it’s boys against men.
Grew up in Illinois. Cook County has nearly a century of honing their skills.
Right were caught with the pants down in 2020. This year they are more in the game, enough I hope.
Plus no Rino for RNC chair. Still need to win by enough to ‘Beat The Cheat’.
The cheat is hard to beat, that’s why Austria has a marxist president now. I’m glad that more and more people are aware of how the left, or those pushing the globalist agenda, manipulate elections, though.
It will get ugly if they steal the election again this time.
We will see if they can win by playing within the rules.
Musk with his $1M giveaways are copying their strategies from last time, legal but questionable.
It will get interesting.
It will get very interesting indeed. Curious if they have the balls to try to pull off another coup, it was so obvious last time. Don’t think Kamala can win a honest election.
Ugly indeed. If Trump wins the Northern big cities will look like the ‘mostly peaceful’ riots of the summer of 2020.
LA too.
A lot Blue cities of will turn to big. snowflake meltdowns.
It will be fun to watch from the bunker here in Idaho.
And the good old sunshine of Florida.
And the Ruby Red state of North Dakota.
And the red isles in the blue waters of Minnesota.
And the trailer parks of wasteland Montana
And the socialist capital city of Upper Austria.
Yep
After they are unable to manufacture enough ballots is when the real steal is going to take place. They will attempt to nullify the election to “save democracy” before January hits. Taking Trump out would be one step but that still puts Vance in office.
Agree with GF on four best teams. could easily see us and Lions in NFC Championship Game.
QOTD – Bow wore me out on this yesterday. shit canned every idea.
But, I’m hard headed and still don’t understand this. Jets need a WR, go out and get the second best in the league. Bills need a WR, they go out and get arguably a top five WR.
We need a guard. I’m not asking for an all Pro, not even a very good one. In fact, a ‘slightly below average’ one would be a huge upgrade.
But, this is too difficult an ask.
Oh well.
There’s a lot more WRs out there and they are a lot easier to plug and play. One of the things that kills the success of an o-line the most is inconsistency in personnel.
If you can find a guard that can merely stand in front of someone and not get knocked on his ass, we can work with that.
Agree about consistency, and Ingram is surely consistent.
I do agree with you, I think if a guy put enough thought into it you can come up with a decent plan. An upgrade from Ingram cannot be that hard to find.
It’s not easy and they are definitely roadblocks, but they can be overcome, in my opinion.
is there anyone dumber in the NFL right now than Jameson Williams??
Addison is a close second, but Jameson is an IDIOT
He’s amusing.
But what did he do this time?
Well I obviously need coffee and focus my reading here and not on work. I definitely was thinking of somebody else so forget the whole amusing thing. You are correct Williams is dumb along with that kid in KC.
I thought when Williams was drafted by the Lions with our 12th that he was going to screw the Vikings dry every time we played them? I saw he got one catch for -4 yards.
With our first round pick in 2022 we got…NVM.
“Watching the rest of the league, I’d have to say that the Ravens, Chiefs, Lions, and Vikings are the best four teams in the NFL.”
Can’t fault your logic there.
The Ravens have that special brand of smashmouth defense – a little extra shove here, an extra hidden punch on a tackle…….playing angry.
Being 5-1 after facing some of the better defenses in the league is an accomplishment, no doubt. Schedule seems to be getting much softer now, we need to take advantage of this.
I still have a bad taste in my mouth after the loss to the Kitties however, hope the team will be able to bounce back and win their next 5 games as well… 10-1 sounds pretty good to me.

QOTD – when he’s healthy you start Risner, otherwise I don’t think there’s another option on the roster, I’m not sure there’s anyone out there in FA available that could come in and be much better either
Skoloholics Pick ‘Em League Week #7 Update
I had a pretty good week. I continue my slow but steady rebound from bottoming out. I really only got burned by one pick this week. Since it is Tuesday, I can talk about it. All I have to say is in my best Captain Kirk angry shouting voice:
KIIIIIIIIIIIRK!
Just when you start to believe in Cousins and put points on him, he burns you. What was up with that spastic sack-fumble? Kirk has been playing only roughly one year less than Harrison Smith. Just curl into a ball and give up in that situation. Don’t offer up the football in the hopes the defensive player will have mercy. Whatever. I don’t hate Kirk, but I both loathe and harbor disdain for him…
(I just realized the irony of Captain Kirk screaming “KIIIIIIIIIRK!”)
Here is a league overview:
Little Fishin’ is at the bottom, but he continues to be plucky and determined to move up, despite missing some weeks.
Freezy and JacksonVike are hanging out in 9 & 10. I remember when those guys were up higher. Truly, Pick ‘Em League is a harsh mistress. You think things are fine, and then you come home to see the mailman, milk man and garbage man lined up at the door, ready to turn your world upside down.
I have quietly crept into eight place, ninja-style, which is fun for me because I had a fascination with ninjas as a child. I even got a book on ninjas for my birthday once, and I had a throwing star.
4-7 is a cluster rat king-style (if you aren’t familiar with a rat king, it is a clump of rats stuck together by knotted tails. Google it. It is disgusting but safe.). Bowbunch, Surly Viking, NoDakRube and DE Viking are all within five points of each other. I don’t even know who to cheer for since I hate them all for being ranked higher than me.
Really, you could almost attach I’d rather be fishing into that group, as well. He is only 10 points above them. This is I’d rather be fishing’s first week in a podium position. Where did that kid come from all of a sudden? Surely, Vegas bookies will be knocking on his door soon and telling him to start shaving points.
We also have a very tight race in the 1 & 2 spots. Only two points separate Bleeding Purple ‘N Gold and Kirk is still good, but that is what we like to see: lots of jostling and pressure where one single bad pick can spiral a person out of control!
Iconoclast Picks of the Week go to Surly. He was the only one to gamble on NE over Jax. Yet, we have a good smattering of Iconoclasts to join the party this week. DE Viking and JacksonVike picked Cle over Cin. Bleeding Purple ‘N Gold and Bowbunch picked Miami over Indy. DE Viking and Surly picked Giants over Eagles and me and Surly picked TB over Bal for some strange reason.
Genius Picks of the Week go to Freezy and Bowbunch. They were the only ones to pick Arizona over the Chargers.
Everyone got the Bills and Washington picks right. Chargers and Atlanta (KIIIIIIIIIRK!) burned the most people.
We should also mention that me, Kirk is still Good and DE Vikings were the only ones to pick the Lions over our beloved Vikings. What does that mean? It means we can be trusted to make dispassionate decisions. We should probably be put in charge of nuclear missile silos.
In closing…
My picks are in and the only one I may change is Chicago Washington, depending on Daniels injury.
I sort of have my picks done. I usually like to let them marinate a bit in my subconscious, but now the true nature of teams is starting to reveal itself a bit more.

QotD – Fire Ingram. Start Risner, draft replacement or coach up the current backups to take over next season. Trading during the season for IOL would be rough.
Starting to hate football again.
AotD: I agree, I don’t think there is much we can do with Right Guard at this point in the season. I would put Risner at RG and see what happens. I would expect a huge move in the off season to sign a good RG.
We’re 5-1 against the toughest schedule in the league and our only loss was by a few pts and you hate Football? You need football Therapy my friend.
I needed Godwin to score to win on Underdog. Instead, my account is now at zero and I am done.
Also failing in the pick em and FF things.
Combine the prognostication failures with the Vikings losing, and I am ready to just read or play video games.
