The weekend is finally here! We’re covered in snow up here, we got another half-foot of snow yesterday. Winter appeared out of nowhere, this snow will probably be here until April.
Also, it appears that the Bears don’t suck anymore, bummer.

Team sucks. Season is over. Next year looks bleak.
That game yesterday was such a mess.
The QBs have been awful.
The WRs have been awful.
The OL has been really awful.
The special teams (other than Will R.) has been awful.
The coaching has been awful.
You can’t walk away from a game like that and think that anyone did (or has been doing) their job well.
Jefferson departed the station yesterday without addressing the media. He is in a really bad place mentally and emotionally. Great receivers have to have a QB capable of getting them the ball, or they aren’t great. Jefferson was lucky he had Cousins as his first QB, and Darnold too. Both can throw the football very well. Wentz has an unorthodox throwing motion, but even he can get the ball out decently. Jefferson has to wait until the Vikings QB (whoever that is) starts actually making pro throws. McCarthy is a guy who thinks he can make 3 great throws a game, and win it at the buzzer. He really believes his own football hero hype. Great QB’s make great reads, and great throws repeatedly in games though. Game in, and game out.
It looks like we’re a long way from that right now.
Jefferson says all the right things, but when push comes to shove, when the rubber meets the road, his words fall empty. He’s not interested in being a support for his rookie qb’s. He’s interested in his stats. like most players. I’m not saying jefferson is the only one like this, but i’m saying his words don’t follow his actions.
I think JJ (WR) is frustrated just like the rest of us. Plus he is much more invested as it is his career/livelihood on the line.
He doesn’t care who the QB is as long as whomever it is can function at the NFL level. Fighting constantly thru double and triple teams has to wear on him as well.

I’m with you on this. It’s good to see he’s frustrated…he should be. Losing sucks.
That said, don’t be a crybaby about poor QB play. He’s an all-world WR but not a QB. And KOC’s offense is not easy to operate. He’s getting paid to catch the ball, so catch it when it’s close to you.
That is half the frustrating equation. Bad throws and when there is a good one it is dropped.
I think your definition of a “good one” is a ball barely within reach that scrapes Jeffersons fingertips.
He and the rest have dropped plenty that hit them on the hands.

Man, what a terrible run of football that was. From Thursday on, every team I wanted to win, lost. College and the NFL. Brutal.
If you stayed up to watch the Denver and Washington game, it was a thriller. Redskins were behind the whole game, but kept fighting. They tied the game up in the 4th quarter, then in overtime the Broncos scored a TD first, and went up by 7. Redskins come back and convert on multiple 4th down plays, and finally scored a TD. It was really impressive. They went for two to win the game, but were thwarted. That last quarter and the OT was exciting to watch though. Actually the whole game had its ebbs and flows as they say. Best game of the day.
When you go from 14 wins to this shitshow, I am actually completely lost for words.
Harder to move on when you have the same thread that covered that hot mess for a 3rd straight day.

Brosmer held the ball a tick too long there. He had Jefferson right on the break. He held the ball and threw it a beat too late, letting the CB crash down. That interception was a result of bad QB play.

Oline is pretty good. They need corners and safeties that can get interceptions and some big men in the middle of the defense that don’t let RBs get 5 yards a carry. If a RB is stopped short it’s a linebacker or DE.
Need quality depth on the OL since they take turns getting hurt.

A few things I notice.
Brosmer is not better than McFragile
KOC is bad at game decisions. Kick the damned fg and the game is close.
The defense is talented and has been playing well, but they are tired of getting no help and will mail it in the rest of the year.
O line is terrible. I know two starters are missing, but the right side is also failing.
I took Seattle with 16 confidence points, and that was the easiest pick ever.
This team is bad.
So KOC is all about throwing the ball. In his fourth year now and the running game remains one of the worst in the league. He’s a throw the ball to set up the run guy.
That approach is just fine if you have a legit quarterback. Darnold was the closest thing we had but it was a fool’s gold mirage

Like, it feels like I’m never going to watch a Vikings game again and have the feeling that I used to have in the heyday of the daily Norseman and even the earlier golden era of skoloholics.
It was fun to do comment counts when I was working on salary for somebody else. Now I’m self-employed and my little kids have grown into hulking teenagers and nothing feels quite the same as it used to

Darnold is 7/15 for 77 yards in the first half. He is averaging over 253 yards a game, with a 69.5% completion rate, and a 106.2 passer rating through 11 games. Defense is doing a fantastic job.
But our Offense has 60 yards so far (53 passing, 7 rushing) and given up an 80 yard pick 6. So Darnold looks like a Pro Bowler in comparison.
Our offense is definitely not working. We’re rushing the ball so poorly, and we’re still not doing several things we should be in the passing game IMO. Brosmer is making reads and progressions which is heartening, but then he’s missing the throws badly. Every QB has throws he really likes. I could through a 7 yard out and 7 yard in with my eyes closed. I’d like to see Hock on choice route a few times. I’d like Addison and Jefferson to run the stick, with the out under. That route combination is easy for QB to see and throw.
