Schedule will be released today. So far, knowing the opponents, @I do not see a loss on the schedule@.
Should be a fun season at least for a few weeks. I am still not really convinced there is an “open competition” at QB. I realize they have not given up on Fragile McPonder yet, but there is a reason Kyler Murray was brought in and money is not the only reason. I am rooting for JJ to earn the job, but if Murray wants to play great and take this team to the Super Bowl that is okay with me. I still expect the worst, and that would be Kyler playing just well enough to earn a high-dollar long term deal that handcuffs the Vikings for years (like Kirko) and the team never gets it done. Vikings fandom is hard.

I agree, but I think KOC might be afraid of injury. He sort of shy’s away from playing guys in preseason that will be on the final 53 if he can.
But we have injury insurance for JJ (QB) aka Wentz.
3 QBs who can’t stay healthy, should work out just great.
it’s supposed to be a true competition, so both should be out there some, I do think the reality is Murray is the starter barring injury or complete inability to absorb the playbook.
this is exactly why I think JJ will be starting at some point this season.
Murray can run for his life when he does not see something or does not know where the WR should be. That could keep him starting for a while.

Murray had several suitors – think he came here to be a backup or that he would “really” have to compete to play?
And take Wentz. Believe I read he was offered backups from two other teams. So he decides to come here and be 3rd sting?
Lot of this doesn’t add up.
My personal take is KOC saw a lot of flaws in McCarthy last year, and if Wentz had been able to continue, even badly injured, he would have played ahead of McCarthy. Folks believe that the only thing wrong with McCarthy is his passing mechanics, but I think his lack of understanding of the offense and poor play execution bugged KOC. Wentz came in and played with just a few weeks on the team, and he ran the offense much better than McCarthy. So I think KOC considers McCarthy QB3 at this point. This just my personal view because I saw a lot of bad QB play from McCarthy last year, and much better QB play from Wentz.
In summary, McFragile™ is stupid.

He just doesn’t know what the defense is doing, and doesn’t progress very quickly. Plus he makes a lot of poor throws. There are a lot of keys a QB has to understand for any given play. If he understands those keys, he has the answers to the test almost immediately. In the NFL plays are designed to create match-ups, and/or put defenders in conflict. The QB has to see these situations with immediacy. He must understand what the intent of the play is, and how to execute it based defensive alignment coverage schemes etc. In college you just run plays. In the NFL you process.

From what I saw in Dublin, Wentz commanded that offense. Wasn’t on him that we lost to the Squeelers. Injury boy, IMHO, never showed that kind of mastery of our offense.

It blew my nephews mind when as a preteen he said he wanted to ‘teleport’ somewhere. I explained that the earth travelled at 30 kilometers a second around the sun not to mention it’s rotation speed. So that anywhere he ‘teleported to’ would no longer be there by the time he arrived.

Just returned from Missouri helping daughter # 3 and her husband move. They bought an 8 yo house 3100 sq ft on 4 acres of hardwood. Nice house $310k. Same place in western MT would be $900-$950K. Feel bad for younger people in western MT.

Two guys were over here from BOZ Angeles earlier this week installing pergola on our deck. Not very picturesque here given lack of moisture and the bad bad wind we have been having. Well, he said that was going to be the case. Tax the rich to cover the stuff he added to the budget. But, it didn’t actually work, because the rich are moving out and NYC is losing Billions of dollars now in tax revenue. Soooo… Mamdani went to Gov Hochul for a bailout. She gave him $4B of State tax revenue to cover the shortfalls. So all the little people paying their taxes to the State, are funding Mamdani, not the rich people who moved out. This only covers this year BTW. Next year they’ll be in an even bigger hole, and will be asking the State for even more billions of tax payer dollars. Mamdani is a scam artist telling people he closed the budget gap. He didn’t. The average Joe’s are paying for his Socialist bullshit. Socialism doesn’t work financially. You can’t tax people enough to pay for it.

I had discussed going to a new Chinese Restaurant with her but she figured that on Mom’s Day it would be crazy busy so she opted for a ‘just as good’ but easier/less hectic option.
Down here for whatever reason there are hardly any Chinese Restaurants. So I have become a pretty big fan of Panda Express, consistent and always pretty good to me.

No China food here. I has a sad. Back in MS days, my wife and I would gorge ourselves at the buffet which was next to walmart in Grand Forks. IIRC it was $16 for the two of us. While those were hard days, we were living below the poverty line, we still laugh talking about finding the best deals on food.
That’s another thing we don’t haver around here – those all you can eat buffets. And if you do come across one, it is way over priced.

I wouldn’t get my money’s worth out of an all you can eat buffet anymore. When I was younger they would have to kick me out so I didn’t put them out of business.
Me too. Whether by design or not, there were no buffet restaurants within at least 3 miles of the University of Alberta campus.
There used to be one at the junction between I-4 and FL hwy 27 north of Haines City and SW of Kissimmee that we would frequent. It was dumpy in appearance but featured quite a bit of stuff you can’t get at midwest China food places. I think the last time we went it was $50 apiece which was a little whoa. Closed down during the pandemic.
Come to think of it, can’t think of a time we have eaten at a buffet in at least five years.

I’m not sure who Gina Carano is, but I looked her up and she’s very old for an mma fighter and rousey is well past her prime, typically fights with really old athletes are nothing but a money grab and don’t live up to the hype at all, wouldn’t be surprised if someone breaks a hip or they just play it safe the whole time and there’s no real action.
Gina was 7-1 in MMA and Muay Thai record of 12–1–1 before going into acting.

So accurate. I got interested in Hockey again watching the Olympics and started watching the Wild. It was fun while it lasted.
I actually watched NHL hockey for the first time in years and of course the Wild waste it away.
Would have helped, but not likely, Colorado is the most talented team in the NHL and are highly likely to win it all
Colorado has the deepest roster of the league. I wouldn’t say highly likely to win the Cup but would favor them slightly.
At least the abysmal season by the Oilers got the HC and AC fired. I would have liked to see the GM go as well. If they have another bad season Bowman will go, but by then it will be too late.
I’d say heavy favorite, but you never know, if someone is going to beat them it’s likely one of the east teams, unless they have a couple key injuries.
i don’t know enough about hockey to know when firing the coach is warranted, it seems like teams go through them more than other pro sports though

They are, probably the only real threat to Colorado
They are, and yet every game was hard fought and determined by a handful of plays/momentum swings. Those two guys would have been a huge boost, and I think we win with them in there.
That’s what hurts the most. The Wild have a championship-caliber team.

Playing at Lambeau in September would be a plus in my opinion. That place is terrible later in the year. Same with the Bears.
