We’ve finally made it to the end of this long and boring work week, coasting into the weekend where we await the Vikings’ next matchup against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Kickoff is at noon central.
It’s impossible to know what to expect, as we’ve seen two very different teams show up for the Vikings the past two weeks. The team that showed up against the Packers looked like they were ready to compete with anyone, the team that showed up on Monday looked like a bad football team that would have a tough time beating anyone. I expect Coach O’Connell to have the team ready to go this week, I think last week was a wake-up call for the coaching staff and for the team. Let’s hope I’m right. SKOL!!!!!!!!

Get a fitting, Golf Galaxy or Dicks. Free fitting if you buy a driver. Stupid not to have them check your swing speed, determine your shaft flex, educate you on the different types of drivers and what they’re designed to do.
I want one that hits straight and doesn’t slice.

Those of you on twitter may have noticed that Teddy had another video go viral last night. The video showed Teddy on the sidelines of his high school team drawing up a play for them. Their starting QB, RB and TE all got injured early in the game, and they were playing one of their rivals who competes for the state title. The back up QB had never played in a game before, so he pitched in to try to help them out. Got them to within a score, but they turned it over on downs in the RZ to end the game. Got pretty close with so many starters out though.
Such a good dude. I really hope he finds a place in the NFL where he can start & be happy. I’m shocked that the *aints haven’t gotten him back over there. If not, I’m sure he’ll be successful beyond the NFL, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Does everyone know what UFO lights are? The bay high output LED lights that look sorta like flying saucers? They are rather pricey. I HAD (emphasis added) four in my shop, was out working in the yard and my wife came running out, thought there was an electrical fire in the walls. Sure enough, there was smoke in the shop and it stank of ozone. I was starting to get a little nervous trying to figure out why no breakers were thrown, etc, when she noticed one of the UFO lights was out. Climbed up there, sure enough the lens had gone black and she was blown.

I used to have a chart so that I could tell how far something might be distant from me because of how much I could see the boat/masts because of the curvature of the earth.
An army buddy of mine stared into the sun one time for far longer than he should have. We were on LSD at the time, which may have contributed to his decision to do that. No harm done, though. Odd.

As a 3-person anecdotal test for this theory, the 3 people across from Canoe Girl are all whales, hubby, wife, and wife’s sister, about 60 years old each, not a one less than 300 with the guy probably hitting 400 a year or so ago during pandemic.
They seem to spend 2/3 of their lives sick and half their lives at the doctor’s office, if increasingly infrequent conversations with them are any indication.
Can’t hardly stand to go outside there any more as next door neighbor is always firing up his mini-excavator, or tamping/compactor machine, or ATV, or loud boat, all in his 50 feet of shoreline that is always trying to bust onto Canoe Girl’s property.
And then the sick neighbors come yakking…
I’d have to eat 24 hours a day 365 days a year to get like that. I don’t know how anybody can get that big. I know metabolism is the biggest issue.

Saw a documentary several years ago about extremely obese people (500 lbs plus). It was about how difficult it was to get them out of house to hospital, how hospital beds/equipment was issue, etc. What was shocking is they did include what they ate. Can’t recall exact numbers but it was like daily 6 whole chickens, several lbs bacon, several dozen eggs, 3 whole gallons ice cream (clearly remember that one), multiple whole packages cookies or whole cake, etc. Asked family why they brought them that much food, he’d just order delivery with his disability money. Sheesh, take his phone away. Insane.

There’s an episode of scrubs where they gotta take a fat got to the zoo to weigh him because he’s too big for the hospital scale, apparently it actually happens sometimes in real life.

Saw one show where the paramedics had to use the jaws of life and a saw to cut the side out of a house to get a 600-pounder out and take him to the hospital, where I think he collapsed the first bed.

Secondly I never said vitamins are bad. I take a MVI every day, also a vitamin D, turmeric and ACV. I said I would never refer someone to get vitamins intravenously at one of those shops. There is one in town that has its share of proponents, drop by for the hangover or tune up or bloated gut special. Whatever floats your boat.
I try to eat healthy. Walk my dog for a couple of miles at least twice a day.
I am far from a health guru. Only thing I can speak to is I am very very good at taking standardized tests of recalling medical knowledge and have a lot of esoteric information salted away in the memory rooms of my head.

AFAIK they seem to have made a lot of improvements in the whole process since my teen years on my grandpa’s farm. The Bobcat has attachments that drive iron pipe straight into the ground, drives the smaller metal posts into the ground, stretches out the wire, and then there are doodads that hook the wire to the metal posts.

Start them cooking and taking responsibility young. 5-6 is when I started my kids doing things like making breakfast, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms etc. It’s also good to have them do projects w/you supervising. It’s where someone starts a new fake account because they got banned with their old account.
Sometimes are just new accounts puppeting the ideas of another account.
I thought it was when you make a puppet out of a sack by bending it into a shape before it crusts over?

S&P trading around 16.5x earnings. Based on 2 year yield, 13.5 might be closer to level. Also, a third of S&P industry sectors are in positive growth. In bear recessionary markets that usually turns to zero. I agree stocks have a ways to fall but should be a soft landing. Both earnings and economic indicators are still showing slow growth.

As a newly minted MBA with an emphasis in investments, I gave a buncha speeches back in the day about the October 1987 market crash.
I agree that the market SEEMS ok today, but the underpinnings of the economy are starting to wash away like the banks of a yellerstone river.

True, more home being built now than anytime in history. Flights are full because there are fewer of them. Credit isn’t gone, it’s just full. Currently the most consumer debt in history. Earnings are stagnant or down.
No, I’m usually pretty bullish. I like investing in things that go up, but there are a lot of things at play right now.
The only thing really holding the market up at all is the automatic 401k and 403b investment money going into the market on a monthly basis, which usually drives it up nicely.
Unfortunately, the computerized hedge funds and large firms that are short sellers are getting better and better at driving it down.
The guv bond buying has artificially propped up the markets for decades.
