Just one more game until game day! The latest injury report from Vikings.com shows Booth and Darrisaw both not practicing, and they’ve already determined that Darrisaw WILL NOT play on Thursday. Akayleb Evans, Za’Darius Smith, and Dalvin Tomlinson were all limited, and JJ was a full participant, although still battling turf toe. Getting Evans and Tomlinson back will be huge for the Vikings’ defense, as they were sorely missed last week, although nothing was going to save the shit-show of a defense who showed up against Dallas.
I have a good feeling about tomorrow’s game! We’ll find out in a little over a day whether my feelings are correct, or if it was just Hopium.

My wife has family in Oregon. They passed some absurd gun law. Her sister got up this morning at 5:30 am so she could get in line at a gun store so she could get her gun ordered before the law starts. She got her number at right around 8 am and she is number 32. They started at 0. She doesn’t expect to be waited on until after noon.
Need to have that law tossed out along with those who voted for it
I told my wife that it will end up going to the Supreme Court. Part of the law is that every year the people with guns will have their picture and name published somewhere (probably online). The left is bi-polar, because for anything else that was such a blatant invasion of privacy, they would be having a stroke and burning down cities until the law was changed.
The new gun laws are mostly unconstitutional, but every time they get slapped down in one state they spring up in another. I’m hoping the Supreme Court will one day spank whoever institutes these things hard.

So we are the.worst 8-2 team in the history of the nfl. We are currently ranked 24th in the league. Does this surprise anyone? I’m surprised we actually won 7 games by complete shit luck but the ranking is about what I expected this season.

So my 3 y/o has been sick all week, fever, wakes up drenched in sweat, cough, snot running, etc. On the radio earlier in the week I hear a local doc saying if your kids don’t have severe symptoms don’t take them to ER or Urgent Care, keep them home if their symptoms can be managed by OTC meds as ERs and UCs are packed, so I haven’t taken her in anywhere. Well after 3 days the Mrs. is worried and messages the pediatrician, whose NP says take her to urgent care lol. Guess who gets to got sit in a lobby for the next 3 hours.
One Daughter-in-law spent the day yesterday in Urgent care with her youngest. The other one is considering taking their newborn in today. Thanksgiving has been postponed and we will try again Friday if the little ones are any feeling better.

Last time we ate at Applebees, my kid got food poisoning. I’ll never get him into another Applebees, which is fine, it’s low-grade dog food.

One place I got food poisoning was Old Chicago. We had garlic cheese bread. Called the manager the next day, their best guess was the cook used the same knife on raw chicken then wiped it on his apron and cut garlic bread. There were a few people that called.

We rented a BMW when we were in Florida, there was a learning curve with that thing, too. I really loved that car, though. My next vehicle purchase may be one of those, some day down the road. I’ll drive my pickup for another decade or more, and I owe nothing on it.

I’m always 10 mph over the limit. There is no reason to tailgate me, yet some feel the need. I’ve brake-checked people before, although I try to avoid such behavior nowadays.

In the last month I’ve probably had a dozen people who were no more than a car-length behind at 75-80 mph. Eff that, I’ll either brake-check them or put an i-beam out my back end they can sink their teeth into.
Most drivers are ignorant to space factor.
A few carlengths is fine, but not a chance in hades they can avoid running into someone if there’s a problem ahead at a carlength. It’s not like 99% of these people could ever drive NASCAR drafting on someone..
Had a guy behind me on the way into work on the 25 mph local roads who was weaving back and forth and tailgating incredibly close even though it was plainly apparent that a big ol’ semi was slowing everything down. I gave a (too) big break check and he tried to chuck his 48 oz plastic soda cup at me but the wind sent it straight back and soaked him. He pulled up alongside my car and tried to mean mug me, flipped him off and he turned off.
I’m sure he didn’t learn anything but I felt great.
People are idiots. I try to ignore them as much as possible.

I was channeling my inner Benjammin this morning and decided to try their breakfast. I’m the only one in the office today, so it’s a “fart-safe” zone.
It was pretty good although, depending upon who you ask, I may have ordered the wrong thing.
They used to have the best meals on a broke budget.

We stopped at Arby’s in Miles City about three weeks ago. I think it was over $20 for a meal for my wife, me, and the dog. Not so cheap I thought.

Thought of you and hercdriver a few days ago. (BTW I didn’t read any of the radiologic studies nor did I have any contact, this is all second hand information and no HIPAA). The local multimillionaire took his helicopter up for a spin (solo, fortunately), apparently he uses his phone or tablet for part of the flight deck navigation package. He spotted a “big buck” and wanted to snap a pic and store the GPS coordinates on his phone, apparently the Lightning cable snagged on something, maybe the antitorque pedals, and by the time he fought the aircraft out of the spin he was slamming into the ground from an altitude of about 200 feet. Apparently the helicopter was totaled. He called his wife and a buddy with a tow truck, the wife insisted on calling 911 when she got there, I know he broke a lumbar vertebrae but insisted on checking himself out AMA before assessment was complete.
So anyhow I was thinking I should buy a helicopter…

I was fully unprepared for a yield presentation I was supposed to give this morning, but the fates have smiled upon me for in all the wisdom of our new overlords IT department the server for my team’s Minitab license has been lost to the wind. No Minitab, no nice graphs for managers who want to see yield graphs.
And with the server issues, I can’t really do anything but wait for them to come back up. Gonna be a light one today.

I do most of the cooking at my house, but the Thanksgiving meal is done by the women folk. My wife is cooking a ham and my niece is cooking a turkey. I will either be hunting in the morning and then eating and watching football, or I will be sleeping in and then eating and watching football.

I played the crap out of Fallout 4 the Christmas week after it came out. Degenerate 23 year old me played probably 12-14 hours a day that entire week outside of Christmas Day with the family.

I’m not sure if I’m a big fan or if I have OCD. Every winter I like to play Fallout 4 on survival mode with permadeath, as in, if I die, the game is over, and see how far I can get. I think the highest level I reached as a character was 65ish.
I have died in my disheartening ways. I have fallen off bridges, once had Preston Garvey knock over a mannequin that landed on a mine and killed me (my sneak level made me immune to setting off mines, so it was doubly stupid that it happened that way). I have had cars kill me twice (if you touch some cars, they will shift and instant-kill you).
My last death was perhaps the most annoying ever. I was at level 54. I was running through Boston. A Diamond City security guard was fighting a super mutant. I thought, I’ll help him out. Killed the Super Mutant, but I accidentally shot the guard once, so he attacked me. I decided I had to take him out, too. Did so. Then I when I got back to Hangman’s Alley, Piper one-shot killed me for killing a Diamond City citizen!
ARGH!
I’m still trying to figure out how she one-shot killed me at level 54 with 10 in endurance, armor with additional endurance bonuses and the reduced damage perk maxed out.
Anyway, that is my way too long post on my Fallout 4 OCD.
I will also get Callisto Protocol in December, so I may get distracted by that for a while.
Haha wow, I fully respect the dedication! And I know what you mean by dying in crazy, stupid ways in that game – other than survival mode. I get too hoard-y in these big open world games and just can’t play in those modes.
I’ve just started Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and can easily see myself getting sucked into that.

Yep, CP is by the same guy who made the Dead Space series. I LOVED Dead Space. One of my favorite game experiences ever.
I also beat Dead Space 2 on hardcore mode. That was the most intense game experience I ever had. Ammo was in short supply. Enemies were tough. You only had three save to parse out through the game.
I don’t consider myself a gamer who goes for difficulty. I only do it with games I like.
What I like about playing Fallout 4 in survival mode is that it makes everything you do kind of matter because if you screw up, game is over. The other annoying thing is that I have lost some truly great legendary weapons doing it that way.
It always seems like I get the most worthless legendary items when playing, like armor that gives you a 10 percent chance of freezing someone if they melee attack you. Whoopity doo!
I once had a sniper rifle that shot double shot, like the Overseer Guardian. That thing was a killing machine. I had rifle damage maxxed out, plus ninja perk maxxed out, plus bloody mess perk maxxed out. That thing was doing like 900 points of damage a shot!
I am more of the completionist route, for a good game I’ll get totally sucked into the story/lore and try to complete every last little thing that the game offers. The Horizon games are my absolute favorites of the last few years. I think I tried to go for all 4 endings and max out each companion relationship in Fallout 4, but I’m not sure I succeeded because that was a LOT of playtime.

Who got the F? I think there are multiple Fs. Ed Dumbatello for running a defense that left Pollard wide open with nobody around for 15 yards in the flats repeatedly and left Hicks in one on one coverage with Pollard on a wheel route for a 69 yard TD. How about KOC for an even dumber offensive game plan that played into the strength of the Dallas defense and ignored the defensive weaknesses. KOC does a really good job managing the game from a HC perspective, good with the clock good decision making, but he is really unimpressive so far as an OC and playcaller.
Yeah Hicks got sent to detention on that play. 3rd and freaking 14 and he rips off like a 75 yard TD.
I think play calling has been pretty good this year in general. Been some bad calls at certain times and Sunday was by far the worst of the season.

IDK, the offense is worse this year than it was last year despite an allegedly greatly improved oline and an allegedly “innovative” OC/playcaller in KOC. Klint sucked but the offense was better last year with a worse oline and the same skill position players, doesn’t exactly paint a great picture of KOC.
