Just one more game until game day! The latest injury report from Vikings.com shows Booth and Darrisaw both not practicing, and they’ve already determined that Darrisaw WILL NOT play on Thursday. Akayleb Evans, Za’Darius Smith, and Dalvin Tomlinson were all limited, and JJ was a full participant, although still battling turf toe. Getting Evans and Tomlinson back will be huge for the Vikings’ defense, as they were sorely missed last week, although nothing was going to save the shit-show of a defense who showed up against Dallas.
I have a good feeling about tomorrow’s game! We’ll find out in a little over a day whether my feelings are correct, or if it was just Hopium.

Not really sure about it. The aftertaste is supposed to have hints of fruit, but is slightly sour. Drinkable but stops it from being good IMO. Needs a bit of water to work.

I was never a turkey fan, which we always have on Thanksgiving, but I love all the sides, so I’ll still enjoy. My cousin always does Thanksgiving, I only have to make one dish, so pretty easy.
Kid has fever of 102.6, cough etc. they’re testing for rsv, flu, Covid, strep, my money is on none of the above and they say she just has “a virus”.

Lot of flu and RSV going around. I’ve seen some impressive chest x-rays. I wonder if this is to be expected after a two year hiatus for kids getting the typical exposure to airborne viruses. Keep us posted, I am hoping it’s a 24-48 hour thing.
She’s been sick the last 3 days, been trying not to take her in because I keep hearing not to unless serious symptoms but fever 102 seemed borderline serious

You did the right thing, I assume she is older than 90 days…if so trust the process and do what they recommend, which I assume is alternating ibuprofen or some other NSAID and acetaminophen.
she’s 3 and correct on the meds, they did mention tamaflu but she’s over 48 hours since symptoms
A sick 3 year old is never fun.
My youngest grand (6) has been sick for over 6 weeks, snotty and pretty bad cough, but she never had a fever. They took her to doc about a week and half ago, because you can hear there’s still fluid in her lungs. They gave her antibiotics, mainly because of how long she’s had it, but it didn’t help.
Dang… Shelly gonna have to start. Huge concern but I guess if we’re gonna be out 3 corners this is the game to have that with Jones at the helm

Flames shot out of my eyes this morning. The other rad that is employed for one more month by the facility I’m sitting in is supposed to work Monday-Wednesday. He reads only for GMC. I read for 9 other sites Monday through Wednesday and for GMC Thursday and Friday. On January 1 I take over full time at GMC and give 3 of my 9 sites away to other rads.
In October, he decided to take a week off without letting anyone know until Friday before. I picked up the extra work as I figured it was a breakdown in communication and just made sure there were no other days off scheduled unexpectedly until January 1. I can prepare for such things by reading from home, coming in early, etc…
At 0930, a technologist knocked on my door and said “the 10 o’clock hip injection is here”. The other rad did not come to work – and notified no one.
The e-mail I fired off to the CEO’s of BC and GMC was pointed. Needless to say massive apologies and promises of retribution soon followed.

If he hadn’t done it before, I would have said mea culpa. Today I am thinking I will tell him he can pay me the daily locums rate for radiology reads out of his voluminous pocket. By Monday I will calm down a bit.
He applied to provide locums coverage for our regional group effective January 1, and was a little excited about keeping his skills up but reading from home. Needless to say, that is in serious jeopardy now.
Had a client have to pay $2k a day to get covered for vacation. Rad.
Just got lectured yesterday on scaling back. For reference, every study I read produces a work measure unit called RVU, chest x-ray PA/lateral is 0.22. I average about 50 RVU/day which puts me beyond the 95th percentile. Yesterday I pulled 83. Today will be well over 100. Not healthy.

Not gonna be here much longer today. Have to deliver some pies, it’s for a United Way fundraiser that our office does, then I’m going home to put up Christmas lights.

We made chocolate pies. One of the gals here made apple, one made cheesecake, one made pecan, and we made chocolate. We send an email to all employees in the city, then any of them can order. We bake them fresh, & deliver them just before Thanksgiving. Charge $25 each & all money goes to United Way. Work just lets us put the ingredients on our company card, so they pay for the ingredients, we do the baking, & the money goes to United Way. We started doing this in 2015 or so back when I was our United Way coordinator. Been an annual thing ever since (except the Covid year).
